Reviews From google play store

It is a good application that helps us to have healthier habits, as it is good for when we need to focus on jobs and some daily tasks, and when we want to go to sleep, as it makes us not fall into the temptation of go to the phone to check on something "fast". You should create the option of writing the time you want to do. You should let access to all contacts, because sometimes we have urgent work calls to make, and not having those people in the contacts complicates things a lot.

Hi there! Loving this app so far! I just used it for the first time today, and it was really nice to not be distracted by my phone and notifications. (And a little scary how itchy I was to use my phone!) Anyway, is there any way to show the "Put down your phone. Enjoy life!" picture on the widget permanently? The statistics are nice for personal use, but I find them utterly distracting when they're on the widget on the front of my phone. I originally put the widget on the front screen of my phone because, even if I never used the app, the "Enjoy life!" picture was a GREAT reminder to go do something else! Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you! <3

It was really better experience working with this feature of shutting down the phone partially. And just letting the incoming calls to attend. Meanwhile I noticed a problem with my phone. I enabled the bluetooth and wifi before starting the zen mode and forgot to turn it off. Which may affect the performance of the phone's battery and also the phone in long run, I'm sure of this. So if it could just enable us to scroll down the status bar down in zen mode to just disable all the wifi, bluetooth

"What a pity! You failed to register in the app that I actually tapped the notification for the 21-day challenge and completed the Zen mode." This has happened more than 5 times now, and I'm fed up giving it one last try thinking it'll work this time. The first paragraph is a roast of the message that the app gives me even after I had actually activated and completed Zen mode. Please fix it, and let me know that it works 100%.

Love using this during the day but the sleep challenge does not work for me! I've consistently put my phone in zen mode within my bedtime range and in the morning it says I have failed, very disappointing, I'm not the only one who's experiences this and the developers haven't even bothers to give us an explanation!

This app changed the timer world in mobile phone. I like this app a lot and I use it often( mostly for studies) This app disables my whole mobile and there is no way to return back or force stop this like other apps on play store. But the only problem is they have a maximum time limit of 60 min. I suggest them to increase the limit so that we don't have to repeat set that after every 60 min

I appreciate that some people may find this app useful. In principle, I don't have an issue with it. However: - It hasn't been set up right. E.g. it turns on when navigation is on and it has flagged up in the middle of the night before when I'm asleep. - They should make it so that the notification can swipe away. - They should make it so that you can choose to disable it. - It should just say "you've been on your phone for 2 hrs". Not the passive aggressive notification it has now.

Brilliant. It can seem hard but it builds discipline to "switch off" and tune in to life that is happening around you, for you. The coding is clever in that once commit to "zoning off" for a length of time, you are committed to that length of time and there is no undoing it; so all that is required is to be conscious that you will not be able to use any apps apart from receiving phone calls. Brilliant! I use it mainly to focus on exercising and the method works. I can't recommend this enough.

It is legitimately the best app to keep off your phone. Helps to concentrate, and keep the phone aside for a while. I am kind of person who has a lot of phone usage, be it academically or for co curricular activities, so it works good for me. Good going OnePlus. NEVER SETTLE

For me, this is one of the only ways to get off my phone and star working on what I am supposed to. This app has made me actually be productive and removes the temptation of peeking your phone and finding an excuse to use it. For my personal use I don't think additional features are needed and the thing is very useful as it is. It is nice the extra of keeping records to encourage you to keep using it. Great work.

This is fantastic.. if you're ever just stressed and you just can't seem to get away from it all or just need time away from social media, this is the app for you. I use it while my phone charges to avoid usage and also gives me a chance to focus on things besides my phone.

Control...exactly what the app is supposed to be about, it's were is lacking the most. I don't mind the idea, or that it comes pre-installed. But, the lack of options, to not be able to delete it or turn off notifications, is super annoying. Especially to someone like me that their phone is their main device to watch Netflix and such, is bothersome to get a notifications every 2 hours on a Sunday, where I just wanna be lazy and watch series after a long week of working hard. Give us the option!!

Simply loving it... Request for 2 additional features which can really add a great value. 1. Always on setting so that i can see how much time is pending. 2. Add a notification when the zen get finish. Additional options which can enhance this application to next level. 1. Leaderboard options. 2. Whitelist application so that we can see important mail or message if require.

Displays notifications hours after the fact (like a notification when I wake up in the morning that I've been using my phone for too long while I used it all day the day before), and most annoyingly of all, it can't be uninstalled or disabled. Oneplus has a good track record of not supplying too many bloatware, but here they made an error. Please make this thing optional...

The initiative of this app was really good. But it's high time they update it's interface, inspirational messages and more attractive goal. Also the zen mode contest which requires you put down your phone for 21 days has a lot of bugs. No matter when I put down my phone before/after 11:00pm when I check in the morning i have failed it

I love that I was looking for something like this a week ago and during that week I got the one plus and lo and behold, I find out about this feature (and without ads). You guys are doing an AMAZING job making this app and for anything else one plus related. Keep it up, and do your best.

Update: Contacted Developer for how to remove - no response. App suddenly not compatible with my phone. Go to uninstall, just reverts to the oldest version. Now that it's no longer supported, i can't update this review (thanks google). Update shows up, and the app STILL doesn't open to change settings (not through App Drawer or settings). Because it's a service app, i can't turn off data and it's used 38 megs(??) for what?! I'm done with OnePlus. Both OS and hardware. This is the silliest hill to die on for a company. It's a optional toy app that is neither toy nor optional. Previous Review: Can't stop it. Can't uninstall it. Can't change the settings as the app suggests. And for what? So i can get a passive aggressive reminder that my screen is on regardless of reason.

Zen mode is a great feature OnePlus has implemented in their phones. It has really impacted me because it helps me focus on things whether it's work or just my general well-being. For example, I used to always go on my phone for a long time when I would wake up but now I simply put my phone in Zen mode the second I wake up and all the temptations of using my phone are gone seeing as I can't use it anymore. It is a very simple feature but it has huge benefits in my productivity and well-being.

Really good app and appreciate the purpose behind the creation of such apps! But my only query is that I am unable to find this among the other apps, everytime I want to use zen mode, I have to go to the play Store and open zen mode; I am unable to find it among other apps! If some solution be suggested towards this, it would be appreciated! Thanks

Horrible app which is forced on users, and treats them like children, telling them what to do. Worse, it's flat WRONG in its assessments, for example, complaining that you're using the phone too much in the morning, when you haven't touched the thing for hours. Additionally, my phone doubles as a medical device, so I NEED to use it frequently, for HEALTH, rather than as this app assumes, detrimentally. If I had known that OnePlus phones force this on you, I'd have chosen another brand.

The notification of 21 day challenge comes up at 10pm daily but starting Zen Mode from the notification will never get counted in the 21 Day Challenge, making it completely BUGGY. Also it requires use of data/wifi, to get it counted in 21 Day Challenge which I hate, I like to keep my data and wifi off while I sleep to prevent unnecessary disturbance and battery drain. The Continous usage notification feature should be of 30/45 minutes to notify. overall a good app by OnePlus

I love zen mode and incourage others also to use the same, the only thing needed is to add the outgoing calls like a basic phone. It happened to me many time that when i receive a call and promise the caller to call back in few minute without remebering that my phone is in zen mode and my caller keep waiting for my calls.

Concept is amazing! Just want to suggest a the OnePlus team to think on adding feature like flashlight when zen mode is on! I personally had an experience of not having a necessary thing like flashlight in mode when the electricity went off in night! Electricity came back in less than 5 minutes but I thought of that feature at that time!

Can not be uninstalled. Until installation is optional I cannot give a good review of this app - edit 2019-10-16: app still cannot be Uninstaller or disabled. Notifications can be stopped but it shouldn't need to run in the background. - edit 2019-11-18: app has been updated three times in total and still is not removable, still uses background battery. Unacceptable at this time

Being a student, I really like this app as it helps me to stay away from all the distractions related to my phone and I'm able to concentrate more and not waste my time. However I feel that there should a specific passcode for unlocking the zen mode which should only be used when extremely necessary because sometimes I impulsively put my phone on zen mode and realise that I forgot to send an important mail! Otherwise, it's really helpful! :)

The 21 day mode doesn't work. Even when I switched it on at the right time it still showed failed to complete day 1 and starts over again. The fact that there's no auto mode which would switch it on by its own is bad. A person cannot constantly monitor their phone at the given time to switch it on..

Everyday i used to wake up and pick up my phone and it would waste so much of my time so i started turning it off after i woke up but i could turn it back on anytime. Now i have just trained myself to turn on the zen mode and i literally can get an extra 30 minutes of sleep because i don't waste time on my phone. I don't have to actually turn my phone off and so I don't miss any calls from work either. This app changed my morning routine completely

Great app for studying or just when you want to make sure your phone isn't being used as a distraction. The only thing I want is to make it easier to get into the app like put it with the other apps on the phone because right now I either have to wait for the notification or go through the play store which I think is unnecessary extra work to open an app

this app is very helpful for people like me who use mobile for hours continously. for people like me who is deeply involved into mobiles wasting time without enjoying the outside world , the reminder which tells us to enjoy the outside world you have been using for a long time is kind of motivative. but the challenges in Zen mode are quite confusing

This app has helped me so much. Lately I've been procrastinating a lot on my business because I was constantly on my phone and I would not get any work done. But ever since I started using this app, I get so much done throughout the day and I sleep like a baby at night!! Best tip I can give to YOU is try it out. Get the app and start it without even thinking twice about it. One feature I would like to see on this app is dark mode/more options to customize the interface. Overall rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

All fantastic but whenever i open the app it opens at history page then i have to go one step back and start the zen mode... Also add a system where countdown continues in negative sign even after the entered time of zen mode is completed and that negative countdownb should stop after the user picks up and uses the phone.

Impossible to uninstall on oneplus phones, constantly sends push notifications telling you off for using your phone for more than 2 hours, sometimes even when you haven't touched your phone all day. Also drains battery and uses data constantly even if you never use it. It may be handy for some, but if you continue to force it on your customers this will be my last oneplus phone as I actively hate forced bloatware.

It's a really good app concept however it needs a lot more development. For instance you don't get a app icon to access the app. So you have to search for it on Play Store to open it. Also it's not possible to access the flashlight and connectivity options when in Zen Mode. Also could you give us a way to add emergency numbers.

Enabled by default on OnePlus devices and apparently requires an actual treasure map to figure out how to open it and disable it. Chastises you for using your phone too much even though half the time it's outright wrong. Also berated me mid-call while using my phone for work. This goes beyond "useless" and into "things that will actively turn people away from your device".

I think atleast call option should be enabled as nobody will stare at the screen during the call. And the most important thing is that in case of any emergency one will be able to call one's near & dear one. Presently in this mode nobody can call any person except sos numbers.

While I applaud the overall purpose of this app ("disconnect and enjoy life!"), the gamification of achievements is counterproductive and doesn't enhance individual happiness. Instead, it puts unwanted and unwarranted pressures on the user to compete (even with self), leading to increased stress and unhappiness. Get rid of the gamification and it would be nearly perfect!

I understand Google have made it mandatory to have a Digital Wellness app, but it's not mandatory to monitor screen time. Give us the option to uninstall or turn off notifications. The tiny number of positive reviews shows what people think of enforced, unwanted bloatware. It damages your reputation and reduces the likelihood of repeat customers.

This is just fab! What I wanted. Whenever i see myself taking out too much time for my phone, I realise that K have Zen mode.. and it is time to switch this thing ON! KUDOS! Just one thing, even when the setting for reminding me that I have been using my phone for too long is on, it does not display any notifications.

This app is developed for people that need the healthy mobile use habits, but don't have the discipline to put them in practice. I see encouraging the non-use of your smartphone by using achivements a great way to implement this. Good stuff!

Good app to just spend personal uninterrupted time with family and friends also can be used during work and study time to avoid distractions. The prevention of unlocking makes it easy to concentrate on what it is that you are doing and not get distracted because you cannot access the device.

Phone screen off while I sleep, wake up to it telling me I've been on my phone for ages an should turn it off. If you're forcing us to have this app and forcing us to have these notifications, make sure it works correctly! Should be a choice to turn off the so or notifications.

Its is the best app out there to make you control my habit of controlling my time wastage. I used to be on my phone for hours on end even during exam times but this app reminds me to close my phone and now with the adjustable time feature i can focus and stay away from my phone You still have to develop enough self control to start the zen mode when you are procrastinating but my personal opinion is that you will have to be strong enough and develop it

Its really nice and reliable! I like it so much. It helped me to manage my priorities; by breaking connection between me and my phone temporarily. Strongly recommended.

Its the best app you don't have to switch off ur mobile phone every time you cannot concentrate on any important work because its provide you the ample amount of time to do your work with a full on concentration mode.

It does what it's meant to do and that is disabling your phone from turning on so u can focus on your work. And it does that pretty well. Few things i wish u could have added r rewards and bigger time limits (2-3 hrs) but overall it's worth it.😊

One of the best feature apps. Takes away all your power and lets you go truly zen very quickly. I don't have to worry about switch notifications on and then off later, like I used to do with my older phone. Love it!

Overall a good app to control usage of phone. Although some more animations in the form of visuals or text can be included while the mode is on. There are only 2-3 lines like "You're on to a great start", etc. However, still an impressive take.

I think, using this app, i became more productive in terms of work, rather than using my phone every now and then! Perfect app to remove the habit of using phone after every 5 seconds without any purpose.

Useless App forced onto OnePlus customers (can't remove it without routing phone). Pops up even though I haven't used my phone for hours. I don't want my phone telling me what to do. I've got a wife for that! Can't even disable notifications. Annoying, useless and uses my data plan. ALLOW USERS TO UNINSTALL THIS JUNK!! OnePlus developers; check the forums, it's full of unhappy customers! Sort it out before you lose customers!

Truly Inspiring move from OnePlus!!!phone was a huge distraction during my studies! This mode really helped me control it!!! highly recommended to all students and phone addicts who wish to come out it!♥️ If there was an option to check n call back the Miss calls (in an emergency) or accessiblty to contacts alone, things would have been even better!✌️😊

Awesomely incredible! Takes me away from digital distraction. Helps me concentrate on things better. Android should implement this feature natively like duo. Kudos to my lovely oneplus team. You guys rock. Thank you 😊

I had my phone more hours long in my pocket, and as I took it out to check my mails, it said I was using it for more than two hours, it's time to enter zen mode. This is the most annoying bloatware I ever had. I won't buy any more oneplus phone because of this.

It's very helpful, but as a researcher some time i need to google for new papers while reading and my device is on ZenMode, so what i really need, is a custom version to disable all apps except some E.g: disable all social media apps, messages, games, and ... but have access to Note, search engine

Can't disable it, it uses a lot of background resources and pops up with notifications I can't disable even though my phone has been out of use for 8 hours while I was asleep. This is nice as an OPTIONAL feature, but shoving it down my throat means I probably wouldn't recommend a OnePlus phone to anyone in the future anytime soon.

Every time I get the condescending notification that I have been using my phone too long I waste more time on my phone trying in vain to switch this annoying thing off. Don't tell me how to use my phone, I paid for it, it's mine. Update this app so it can be disabled.

I feel this is the best thing OnePlus has done... This one is better than the study apps that I have used, completely cannot escape from the Zen mode so that I can really put the phone down and concentrate on my studies. Plus it gives you notification about the number of hours, the phone has been continuously working(so that you may feel a small amount of guilt and put the phone down)...

After completing the 21 day challenge, I keep getting notifications about the 22nd day of Zzzen. And I can't get rid of it. I've completed the challenge so you can stop sending me notifications. I didn't have a problem with notifications prior to this. It's incredibly irritating.

It's superd app and i am thankful that i started using this app i am only request to developers to please add calculator and notes in Zen mode . I am suggesting the calculator because i am student i calculator and notes help me to increase my efficiency . And this is just a suggestion and yes i love this app this app increase my efficiency also . So thank you for making this type of app .😃😄

Exactly what I need! I get tired of turning my volume up and down so I can rest. I would always forget to turn the volume back up. Now I can just use Zen mode. No more forgetting to turn my volume on!! Love it!

The perfect way of 'staying away from device' for a limited time. I literally love this app as it makes me want to focus on other things rather than always being on mobile.

I really appreciate the purpose of this app. But recently I have encountered a glitch while using the zen mode at night .Even if I start the zen mode during the challenge duration, I still receive 'you failed to start' notification in the morning.

Well for all OnePlus users out there, this app is truly helping me mentor my capability to stop being engrossed in just my phone and picking it up and checking random things every now and then. I'm pretty sure it can be downloaded across any device. So a big thumbs to all people who download this app as well as the one Plus developers for making this app.

It is one of the apps really necessary for a phone. It really helps people get better concentration on the work without getting distracted by the notifications on the phone. Helped me a lot for studying. Really helpful for a phone addict like me.

This app made me not to use my phone during exams ( great for students and for meditation). Just a suggestion, Flash light can be added as an additional feature. It will be helpful when there is power cuts or emergency darkness. Lol ;)

Great idea, poorly executed. I joined the 21-day Zen challenge and twice woke up to notifications that I have hailed and my progress has been reset, even though I also had confirmation that I completed the Zen session. Extremely frustrating and demotivating, which defeats the purpose.

This app should be opt-in only, so the people who want it can have it, while those who need their phone for serious stuff don't have their time wasted by unwanted interruptions. As it is, it's not even opt-out! That is a very poor decision by OnePlus.

I love the app. I hope they can implement a pomodoro/study method where one can have intervals of user defined focused Zen mode (often 25-30 minutes of work), followed by a 5-10minute break. After 4 work intervals, there is a 15-30minute break completing one pomodoro.

No matter how strong an urge comes from within, it encourages you not to digress from the original work which is many a time more important than random surfing and googling. Amazing experience, OnePlus! 😍

This is my favorite OnePlus feature; sometimes the best option to get off your phone is to lock yourself out of it completely. The only thing I would like to see added in the future is the flashlight being available, but I don't think this app would succeed at its purpose as well if anything else was available.

It's getting better and better. There are plenty of features that could and should be added to make it more powerful. By the end of the session, it'd be great have options as notification. For example a gentle 'ding' of a Tibetan singing bowl to indicate session is over. Just one of many ideas

This is perfect for when I need to stay focused on work or any other task. Super easy for me to check my phone when I have the slightest lull which throws off my productivity. The app is super simple to use.

App has issue with syncing. Even after adhering to challenge timeline it didn't count them and you end up restart. Same is if you change timezones during travel it messes up and challenge restart.

Terrible! You launch a 21 day challenge, on day 19th I took the challenge twice and the app was not accepting it no matter what! Now I lost all my process!! Give me back +20 hours I lost thanks to this buggy challenge! Uninstalled this app with a root uninstaller after not hearing from support. Everyone having issues just follow the same step!

It is really awesome. If I can specifically control what I want to do on the whole day, it's fine. Sometime I get a FB notification and started looking into it. If I can lock out all social media apps for full working hours it will be nice.

It's a great feature, it has helped me with many things. And it couldn't be more relevant than in today's time of digitally hooked generation. Big thanks to OnePlus for this much needed feature.

The fact that it doesn't allow you to stop it but stills allow for calls makes a balance if not having to worry but not being too connected to your phone during a break or having to work. Overall its very handy for when you need to do something but procrastinate.

I hate everything about this app, especially the fact that I can't turn it off!! I managed to disable it for a couple months but it turned itself on again, and now I've gotta look up how to make it stop again. All I want is to never have to see this garbage app ever again if I can't uninstall it, is that really too much to ask? Jfc

A good app to help isolate oneself from phone. Personally it has helped me improve my studies, sleep better and be more interactive with others. I wish there was a duration greater than 60mins.

Very good thought by OnePlus towards improving the digital lifestyle. In my prospective I think there should be the call facility to other numbers, in addition to the emergency number to be available. Thank you team OnePlus.....

I started the challenge last night and turned on the zen mode for an hour at 10.00 pm. Left the phone and went to sleep. Today morning the app asking me to start the zen mode again. I refused and it says I lost the challenge. That's not the way it was supposed to work

Haven't actually used it properly yet to bar myself from using my phone, but if you're looking for a way to turn it off directly on your phone, pull down your notification curtain all the way, then edit your quick settings using the pencil/pen icon and add zen toggle. To access zen use its quick settings toggle to open it then into settings (top right 3 dot icon) to turn off the annoying reminder.

The Zen mode challenge does not record properly. I have used it twice in the specified time but it failed to record the data and failed me in the challenge. Disappointed with this.

It's a good way for me to leave the phone. Adding the fact that I can at least still receive calls. However, it will be amazing if the app has the ability to count the no. of hours you have zen for the past 7 days or month. Or even the entire history of u using the app. Overall I love this app

This mode is such a bliss. If you are always glued onto your phone this app will help you keep away from the phone for sometime and make you productive. A must have feature in all phones.

should added some more features... looking for more features.... an in its not more then 60min, ... sometimes we need cell phone for payment, so should be something there for some tools applications access which not consuming time but for basic needs

It doesn't work in day time. Like 12 P. M., This mode should also be reflect in notification bar when one use the phone continuously in daytime. Hope you consider it.

Using this to focus on my studies. Im studying medicine and I need to be intensely motivated and focused for long durations. Zen mode helps. I hope they extend the timings for even longer. Every person who has some degree of addiction to their phone must try this feature. It calms you down.

This is so far the only focus app that I've used that actually works. Since it doesn't have a way to disable the timer, it works incredibly well. This inability to cheat it helps immensely with my ADHD.

Amazing app, really encourages you to put your phone down and focus on the real world. One drawback is that you can't whitelist certain apps such as phone in case we need it in emergencies

This is fantastic but I'd like to type how long I can use it. I want 3 hours but there is only a 60 minute option. 😶 Let me use this longer!

Awesome feature!! Always happy to use it. Helps me to enjoy outside phone. I was very much addicted to phone. But this app really helps me to focus on real work.

It is very useful especially when you want to study. Incoming calls are still possible so anyone can reach you in case need be. At the same time it allow you to set your goal and stay away from your phone.

Absolutely brilliant. This app should be available on all phones, in our phone-addicted times, something like this, such an easy and effortless way to prevent phone use, is essential. Thank you OnePlus.

Helps me sleep. Instead of browsing through junk, I switch on the zen mode and get some Zzzzz. One cool feature would be to enable music apps in zen mode.. With the music play control on the zen mode lock screen. I prefer to keep the music on and go to sleep..

Great tool to unplug and regain some mental balance and rest. Even if this sounds awful to you, or you feel like you're too busy or you don't think it'll help, give it a try!

WARNING TO ALL WHO ARE THINKING OF BUYING A ONEPLUS PHONE: This stupid app is permanently enabled and gives you notifications nagging you to enable Zen Mode to lock yourself out of your phone several times per day. I have a OnePlus 7 Pro and I don't think I would buy it again if I knew that the phone would have this ridiculous nanny app that is permanently running and cannot be disabled. This is a joke. You should be able to completely remove Zen Mode from your phone.

Buggy app, this is second time my challenge was terminated as i didn't start my challenge as per scheduled time but i actually did and it visible via history tab. After 12 days of hard work my challenge is over due to stupid bug and this is second time and last time i had completed 13 days. In general app is ok, good way to avoid phone, my suggestion is they remove camera as well to ensure no use of phone at all except incoming call.

Love it. Good way to force yourself to put the phone down. Can't find it in the app list, however, to open it on demand. Have to go-to Google play and search for the app and then open it from there.

The medals are really helping. Looking forward to more. And i dont get y the timings of 21 day challenge is limited between 8-12. A change like increasing the interval in that would be great.

Perfect detox to the mobile addiction..this was a bold, but very useful move from oneplus, this app actually cares about the welness of the mobile users...i hope other manufacturers catch up and implement the same in their handsets....oneplus, u created a example to others with this app....
