Reviews From google play store

This app is greatly lacking when compared to Google Play Music. Where are the lists of stations? Currently I can only get the list of stations you recommend to me. This would be fine if I liked any of them or the app could magically determine my situation. It was much better in GPM when I could pick the mood or event and get a list of stations that I could play. Using AI to pick what you think I want is a poor second to just letting me pick.

This app needs a lot of work in terms of personalization, there need to be a way to control what you see in the hotlist; country selection like on youtube is missing on this one. It lacks in official content when compared to other services like Apple music. There are no curated playlists in artists section. The only thing that sold me is YT premium subscription that comes with a little more cost.

Great app. Finds most of the music present on the face of earth. At times, a bit tricky to find new releases as they should be on the front with a better visibility. Do improve song recommendations. Rest is amazing. The ability to switch between music and video is unique. Keep it up.

Keeps cutting out and stopping. Worst of all, since the last update this thing will not play when google maps navigation is running, not at all. Is this more nannying from google? Regardless, this app now sucks, it won't even play downloaded songs without cutting out. I'm a premium paying member, you guys need to fix this. UPDATE--01: this app is now 100% unusable for me. It cuts out and stops playing all music including ones that have been downloaded. The google developers suck!

I enjoy premium a lot! Downloading is easy and music in the background is always a plus. I think one flaw I see is in the playlist sorting system. There's only three options, and I can think of two more, which would be sort alphabetically. One would just be by song and the other would sort alphabetically by artist. I think this would help people to find songs on larger playlists a lot easier.

Meh. There are a lot of artists and songs on here that you won't find on Spotify, but at a cost. The free version of this app doesn't allow background playback, which is a bit pointless for a music app. Plus the music recommendations isn't as tailored as Spotify. This app is pretty good for playing music videos, but then again, I see no difference when a person could just use the regular YouTube app. All-in-all, lacks some basic features for a music player, but it has a chance to be decent.

The app lured me into thinking it was a great app. I could choose whatever songs and leave the app, and I didn't have ads. But then the trial ended. And it became YouTube. But just music. Doesn't the ad for YouTube Music say I can leave the app and still listen to music?? Apparently not. I'm really disappointed, because I thought this was better than some other music apps at first. I was willing to look past some of the music on YouTube (such as Andrew Hulshult's IDKFA) weren't there fully.

Hi Google...this app is a dumpster fire. I click play to play an album and it only plays one song and stops. Why is this so hard? Why can't you put effort into your apps to make sure they're actually usable? Why can't I clear the queue? Why can't I save a queue? Why does your keyboard suck so much? Why do all of your apps for Android...your own platform...suck! I pay $10 a month for the privilege of using an app that's been in constant beta for years.

The service would be great but every 5 minutes or so, it pauses to make sure your still listening. What a pain! I'm listening while I'm doing things, who wants to stop what they are doing constantly to say they are still listening. It didn't used to do this so often. Pandora only does it every few hours. Think I'm going to quit using YouTube music as long as they keep doing this. Going back to Pandora. Too bad, I used to enjoy it!

Please fix this app! I can't listen to a Playlist without it stopping the whole time. I have a paid account and the Playlist is downloaded.. Even when i use wifi to listen to music, it keeps stopping after every song or so. Then i have to close the app, reopen it and reselect everything. Sometimes it even struggles to open. This is annoying me and I'm sure I'm not the only one struggling with this.

Pros : 1. Great alternative to other music apps. 2. Videos along with songs is a great feature. Now it's one app for all music. Cons : 1. Does not sync / work with any smart watch. My Samsung gear S3 watch cannot download this app. Also, songs not available for offline use on watch while running or during any workout. 2. Latest songs are available after certain time and not at launch.

The app was good but sice a week I am seeing quite lot of issues. The screen freezes a lot though music will be playing. When inside the app, part of the screen doesn't load. When I open the app, sometimes theres a complete black screen and and I have to cycle through other apps and come back to youtube music to see some content on screen. I can cast youtube videos but not music. So the issue is not with my tv. While playing the songs, the music stops abruptly sometimes.

With premium my S8+ stops playing 4 to 6 seconds after screen off. I had this issue before and canceled subscription. A few months later I thought it might work this time since the loss of battery with the screen on is atrocious.. Nope. Fail. Now there's no way to even call these ppl to talk it over , I wonder why? I talked to one of em before but troubleshooting got me nowhere and I nearly became more than displeased with the unfortunate guy on the phone. Contact me. We need to talk.........

Decent music selection, could use more film score music. The app itself is lacking some obvious features. There's no widget. Once the playback starts, there's no way to shuffle the music or even repeat the current track. Plus there's stuff that appears in your playlists which are Youtube videos and not music. Why is there no easy way to mark a playlist as music only? The app needs to improve by quite a lot to match Spotify.

I love this app, but can you add a repeat button? So when the playlist is over it starts again, at least for the song versions! And a "repeat one" button, I often have to listen on repeat because I study music. Add this and it's 5 stars! No other complaints! I had music playlists in YouTube and now I have them here. I always liked YouTube recommendations because I've been using YouTube since 2013 with the same account and the recommendations are the best, it's like they really know me.

Overall, this is a "watered-down" version of Google Play Music. "Radio" play is MUCH better on GPM. YTMusic goes off the rails pretty quickly. I will admit that YYMusic organizes music a bit better. Now you can tell the difference between what you have on your device and what you've downloaded from your subscription which is nice. It was very confusing in GPM. Why is there no "genres" category?

Do yourself a favor. Even if you get YouTube music for free, use Spotify instead. You'll thank me later. The interface is horrible, and does not even load at times. It deleted all my songs the moment my premium was over, forcing me to reinstall all of it. The quality is sub par and overall it's a horrible experience. I'm just glad I'm using YouTube premium for the shows and didn't actually pay for this crappy service.

This app was great and I loved it! Here lately it's been a lot of bugs going on with it. It's been months and I've made numerous reports and feedback on it and has not been changed. The design is great and all but what's the point If it keeps freezing on me, force stops and gets stuck on the same time and repeating the same 3-5 seconds over and over! I click next, pause, play, like or download and it just crashes!!! I have the pixel 2XL and thought it would be great on here but not here lately

I love how you can listen and stream music for free online and you can skip as many songs as you like! It's a great change from Spotify where you can only skip 6 songs per hour! However a big problem is that the music stops when you turn off your screen, so it wastes a lot of battery! Overall a great app for making playlists.

YouTube Music's recommendations are better than Google Play Music's, but the player side of the YouTube Music is much more buggy. While it can sometimes work well, at other times it can be an exercise in frustration. My Android devices are a few years old, perhaps it works better with newer devices - I sure hope so. The interface design is confusing, it's not always obvious when to swipe up/down, look for a back arrow, or use the physical back key.

An okay music streaming and playing app. Integrated local file play is a blessing, and switching between a local library and your account library is finally made easy. The ui is clean and modern, albeit glitchy. Music discovery is meh. Good for free users. Paying users, use spotify instead. If your buying this alongside YouTube Premium, it's probably worth the $3. It's okay, but could be considerably better if more features were added to match competitors. Namely, Spotify due to freemium model.

Basically, a YouTube video app that focuses on music playlists. I am so far disappointed especially hearing that Play Music is being replaced by this app. I am still waiting for music player features that are NOT video related. There is music in the app, but it is too hard to find. I want a music app first and a video app second. In addition, only YouTube would come out with a "music" player that requires a subscription to play music in the background.

I like this app better for several reasons. 1 videos. 2 the initial setup starts you off with a VERY broad selection to create a more tailored experience. You don't just start playing songs and it learns from there. You start with a huge prearranged selection that you chose. Everyone wishes they would put the background option in for free.

When I play my mixtape it lets me choose to play only videos, but once I cast to my television, starting with the next song it will only cast audio with a picture of the album art. The video only option disappears until I stop casting. I've lived with the buggy interface, but this is a deal breaker for me. Obviously I want to cast music videos to my TV and not just audio.

Chromebook version of this needs to be fixed. 3 issues: 1. there isn't a choice where to store offline music (a win for chromebook users who have external sd storage) 2. it crashes on chromebook when trying to go to the gear icon for settings changes - come'on basic stuff. 3. Where is the thumbs option in the bottom right? Other than that - music algo better than GMusic...just sayin.

Awful in every way. It is functionally no different than listening to music on YouTube, which is also awful in every way. Randomly pauses in the middle of songs to "check if you're still listening." Can't turn off the screen or lock phone during play or it stops. This is probably the hands down stupidest app Google has ever released.

This app is great in theory but it fails at the one thing that is most important - playing music consistently. Both in headphones and on Android auto, it'll stop playing after a song is over. It also stops mid song fairly regularly even on downloaded songs. I've reported a handful of times but I'm tired of doing that and switching back to Google play music

Great service but lots of features missing. Downloading songs is tedious task. It is also missing my library function. And most importantly, own uploads like (Play Music) is missing. Edit - There is no way to report songs with wrong meta data & to report videos which have been wrongly identified as songs.

YouTube Music is the future of online music, be part of the journey. I find everything I need on here compared to other music platforms..YTM has the lot including video option. It's going to get better and better. I choose YouTube Music over all the rest. Also for an extra £2 I get YouTube Premium which is YouTube access totally ad free. See you there. Happy Listening, Gary.

i have been using this app for some time now and it's been great but this past month, there are long ass ads. 25+ minutes, for what reason? I cant just jump out of the shower and skip every long ass ad or else I'd never finish showering. That's annoying. Another thing is the "Are you still listening?" then it pauses my music. I have to press play through out the night because music helps me sleep but yeah. That's why the three stars.

Dear Google: if you expect me to transition to this from GPM, you have to add two GPM features not found here. Firstly, remove the delay between tracks while streaming (this is of course especially important with tracks that segue into one another); secondly, enable the zooming in on album covers (in the web version, at least).

The app runs smoothly but lacks a lot. Many albums available on other platforms like Google Play Music (same company) are not available on here. The menu is impossibly confusing to navigate. A great idea to allow playing of videos from YouTube but seems extremely pointless given the existence of Google Play Music, which is far better to use.

Though I am Korean I prefer western music better, that is why I chose to use YouTube Premium over other choices (such as Melon or Genie music), also because YouTube Premium is cheaper. The Youtube music app comes very handy as a main music platform. However, I have found that the app has some bugs here and there and could also use some improvement. I've been using YouTube Music for as long as 3 years now but the app does not seem to have improved much over the years. Please fix

I can't stress how bad this app is. The search is clumsy at best, and the interface is just not intuitive. I hate that this app is video-centric, when I really just want to listen to music. Google Play Music is SO much better, but we're told it's being replaced by this dysfunctional app. When that happens, I'll take my monthly subscription fee elsewhere.

Google music is far superior. YT music lacks... -Car / Bluetooth control. -I cannot reorder / rearrange my songs. -podcast player does not exist. -Google assistant cannot play a playlist when asked. -some of the songs have intros (from the video) I just want songs, no videos please. Yes, I've disabled this setting in the settings. These are just basic features that should be available on any music app.

It signed me up for the free premium trial even though I havent asked for it and it ended in like a couple of weeks. The ads recently have increased significantly and they get longer and longer eyery time, all the reason that make me feel like am forced to start paying which is causing me to do the exact opposite and now I dont even want to get the premium even though I used to think I might wanna get it at some point

Its okay, honestly when you start the radio on songs it's just terrible. Also seems to play the same songs on auto-play very borning. It doesn't seem to know what music I like after I have liked a few songs. It's great for kids, it's just like having the radio where the same songs play all the time. If play music is invalid, and I have to use this app, I will definitely use spotify. Also there is no widget please fix.

The app works fine, but it still feels like Play Music is the better Google music app. Among other things, YouTube Music lacks the ability to browse your library by artist, so that if you like just a few select songs or albums from an artist and want to listen to just those songs or albums, you are left with the only option of creating playlists manually. Even if they were the only songs/albums in your library.

Plays music so I guess that's good. Lack of import feature from Google Play, does not show or list albums I have purchased off the Play Store, endless amounts of trash poor quality songs. If I wanted to hear a live version or cover of a song I'd use YouTube to listen to music. Or if I wanted a poor audio quality version of a song I would use YouTube. Better off transferring service to Spotify or Apple Music.

Didn't bother with this when I got YouTube Premium but eventually gave it a try. It's actually a very easy way to get hold of new albums and have them to listen to offline. I like the way it will play an auto playlist of songs from bands you like. One let down is it doesn't have the ability to shuffle play all your downloaded albums, presently you can only play one album at a time (edit : shuffle feature has been added to downloads so this is my music app of choice when using my android)

It was a GREAT app... Until the premium expired. Now it is the exact same as the default YouTube app, except you can only listen to music. Lyrics? Anything on-screen? Forget it. Videos? Nope. You can only use this at a desk with high-speed internet. Might as well use the default YouTube app, so you can actually see the lyrics when you need to.

In no way is this app even close to Google Play Music. How can you create a new app and not transfer all of the Play Music purchases and playlist? Seems to me that Google is more about making money and following the greed of Apple. Will be a very disappointing day if they shut down G-Play Music along with the lose on many long time Google fans. 👎

Why would Google replace Google music with this... I feel like it's a blast from the past - when Google Music had the exact same issues: - Radios contain a limited number of song and repeat - I frequently hear songs I disliked when creating a radio from a song - the music library is limited - there are times when I request to create a radio but nothing happens

I hope they don't actually use this app to replace Google Play Music. They took two perfectly good standalone apps, Google Play Music and YouTube, and blended them together in a way that nobody wanted. If Google Play Music gets replaced I will be moving to a different music service because I don't want to have to deal with YouTube Music

I put on music to zone out and have it in the background while I'm working. The fact that it now stops everything completely every now and again to ask "Are you still listening" is annoying. You're already loaded with ads and you don't do what 98% of music apps do: Let the screen be switched off. It consumes more battery life. You're better off getting Spotify or SoundCloud.

When it works, it's fine, but when it doesn't, it gets frustrating. This is a fine app, it works alright, but even from day 1, I wouldn't say I was ever very impressed with it. The more I use it however, the more I want to cancel my subscription and pay for Spotify or pandora instead. Often times my Playlist will stop playing after 4 or so songs, and I find out that YouTube has deleted the rest of the songs in that Playlist. Sometimes they just aren't available to play. It just gets annoying.

Hi Team, This is wonderful app. I have subscribed this app and using it on daily basis. I was wondering was audiobook and some of the features related to podcasts and audio track not working. Example: I tried leadership audiobook. There is audiobook available. I am unable to play. WHY? Appreciate your help, if this is working. I am unable to send email to you Thank you Anil

I'm a long time Play Music subscriber and now Google have said this is the future of music thought I'd give this a try. The future is not good. There is an obvious lack of feature parity with GPM which makes this a worse product from the outset. I could believe it may get better with updates but even the basic stuff just doesn't work as it should so I'm not sure. For example I press "next" and nothing happens. I love GPM and find it odd that Google are trying to drive me away to an alternative.

Okish app.. the most irritating part is it does not get the orientation correct when the phone is mounted on a phone holder in car. Have also got bored of YouTube creating the Auto generated playlist only from my previously heard songs... There is no variety. Nothing out of routine gets played. Gets pretty boring. Does not even integrate well with Google assistant. It ends up playing some unwanted version of the song which forces me to go back to Google play music app which is far better refined

Found a song with an incorrect artist and then when I click on it it shows the wrong artist and wrong song but plays the right music. There is so much music on Google music that is not on this platform unless it's in "video" format, which is not what I want. This needs some work before it can replace Google play music.

Good enough for paid version, free one is useless. The paid version is amazing, I used for few months. Now the free version is so pathetic that it doesn't even play in the background. And all premium songs disappear suddenly. At least some basic features are expected even in the free version.

In term of content we are definitely going somewhere very good. but when i comes to software.... playlists management is very bad and it is the same for the management of downloads. Nonstop crashing too. Recommendations are very bad compared to other apps like spotify. It mostly play track you already listen to. But i know this is a pretty fresh app so just need to let it grow... i just wish it dont turns up like g play music did. but overall this is a pretty good app, continue like that!

I'm under the impression that this is replacing Play Music eventually? As it is, the UI and functionality of this app does not meet my expectations for what I get out of Play Music and YouTube. The music selection is not as organized as nor accessible. It does not seem to currently have any of my playlists or saved artists or albums. I'm curious to see how this develops and changes over time. However, as it is, I have never been upset about using a Google App before now... Less than 1 star.

I really like this app. I find it very easy to use and does almost everything I want it to. My complaint is that you can't shuffle the whole artist, it only shuffles 15-20 songs from the artist. I'd also like to be able to add a shuffled album to my que. If this was fixed if definitely rate 5 out of 5. I really like the offline playlist it's a feature I I didn't know I wanted until I had it.

So after every song there is an ad, every single one! Can't turn off my screen or do anything else while streaming just like YouTube so what is the sense of this, to have more ads? Only plus was it linked my account automatically and had a playlist of songs( mixtape) I've searched and played on YouTube . Uninstalling.

This is bad. Missing many albums, which are on Google Play Music. The app is not intuitive. Finding songs is a mix of fan edits, live versions, and music video copies that modify the original. It lacks major features that exist on GPM. WearOS support, gapless playback, personal music library, scrobbling.. It's been years and this app hasn't caught up to its predecessor, his is a bad product not worth your money at this time. If they kill GPM before fixing this they will lose me as a user.

The app seems to be in Alpha stage and is not yet ready for the mass market. Pros: *Every song you can think off is available. Cons: everything else, 500 Characters is not enough to cover them all. *This is NOT a free music app, you need to pay to listen to your music while screen is off. *You can't create playlists unless you create a YouTube channel. *you can't unlike or like songs to get better recommendations. *you can't filter languages. And many more but I am runing out of space to type.

When it says "free trial" it should never ask for credit card details! This is the usual trick by many applications and I have stopped using these applications at all when there is a request of pre-inputing payment details. Free trial is and should be Free entrance for a month or for any period each company decides. Later, when the free trial period ends then, you have all the right to block and ask for credit card information for subscription to start.

I've been using it for a long time n it was good , no issues but now for some reason it wouldn't play the liked songs. I've reinstalled app but the issue is still same , and if I download a song without playing it first , it wouldn't play afterwards, so first I have to play the song and if it starts playing then I can download it which would work afterwards too otherwise it won't play in downloads. This would be last month for me , if it doesn't get fixed I'll move to apple music or spotify

Availability of every track in the market and decent sound quality makes it a optimal choice for many, however, the lack of organisation in the downloads and playlist folders makes it a real mess. I've been hoping that Google will fix this issue, but updates after updates came, no changes have been made. And that's something which makes it a hard sell in general. Like sorting a library alphabetically, seems so simple but is such a life savour and important feature. Google please fix this!

This is a terrible way to replace Google Play Music. There's only a list view for my music, no recents tab and it's filled with Spotify like features. This isn't a music player, it's an advertisement for a Youtube Music subscription. I like streaming on occasion, but it needs more features for local playback. Either create a separate app or improve this one. Anyways, I'm very disappointed to see Google Play Music is being replaced with this junk.

I have YouTube Premium so it is included. I like that I can use my playlists from YouTube, and the ability to listen offline and with the screen off. I can also use Google Assistant to start playing music. What I don't like is that I can't customize the start page. It gives me weird recommendations that I don't like, and I can't remove or dismiss them. I have chosen favorite artists and liked songs but it doesn't improve the suggestions. I also don't like the dark mode. Fix smart watch support.

google play music has so many more features. Plus there are things that really need to be fixed. Favorites cannot be edited this MUST be fixed. There is no play count to gauge which songs have not been played when listening to new music. I cannot just shuffle my library, only playlists. I will move to apple or spotify if google play music goes away. I will not stick with youtube music. I have spent years in google play music. There should be a way to move the playlists and likes over.

Autoplay while driving/connected to Bluetooth does not work. The main appeal of YouTube music to me personally was hands-free device usage while driving with music that I like, and my phone OFF. Sadly after every song your phone needs to be turned on and play hit again to play the next song, even with auto play on. Fix this please. Not worth the money paying for it if this issue is never resolved, potentially causing distracted driving to a handful of users who complain about the same thing.

1. Downloaded music must stay in my downloads They can't just disappear or become unplayable suddenly I have more than 1000 songs just went grey and shows 'failed to save offline'. This is the most annoying thing and there is no way I'm going through that list again to download all of them. 2. Please add lyrics to the songs. 3. If you've purchased YouTube premium, you should let people use it no matter where. In Singapore, you have to use vpn to access and it's frustrating. I subscribed in korea

Regardless I download the songs to my cellphone, if I have connectivity problems it makes problems on the app as well, as if the songs are not completely downloaded on the cellphone. This is a problem because others apps does not have the same issue. If you do not have connection to the internet, you can listen to the music that you have downloaded before option that seems is not available with you guys

I don't understand why this app automatically signed me up for premium when I expressly denied every attempt that the app offered the premium service. I better NOT get charged for this app. I think $9.99/month is an insane price for any app, not to mention that every app I've purchased in the past has ripped me off by either disappearing from Google play or changing software and then I am kicked off the payment and told I'd have to pay again. These reasons are why I will NEVER purchase any apps

Positives: sound quality beats Google Play Music hands down. Negatives: Basic functionality is seriously lacking. The library is incomplete. I.e. one of my favourite Albums, Watch the Throne is not there when it exists on GPM. Finite number of songs load on a playlist even though much more are downloaded. Also, they same songs play when you perform a library shuffle and more songs seem to play less. Lastly, there is no widget... get it together folks It definitely feels like a work in progress.

What really pisses me off about this app? Every time I tap a notification, the app always opens to a YT ad trying to get me to buy a subscription, then takes me to the home screen with absolutely NO INDICATION of the song mentioned in the notification. Nowhere in the app can I find a mention. Been this way at least 6 months now. Beyond useless. Please sunset. REMOVED.

Ah yes lets make two different apps so if you want only music you can use this BUT lets not seperate them in a good way, so your recommendations related to music appear in normal YouTube, and you can't have seperate playlists. Please just, fix this i don't want to be spammed with music in my home feed, have some separation, i don't know how the algorithms work so i have no idea if subbing (that causes both to sub) effect music recommendations, I use YouTube a lot and want to discover separately

Love YouTube but this app I really really weak. Needs basic quality of life improvements. The interface is very clunky and scrolling for a song takes a long time as there isn't a scroll bar or by letter option. Honestly its really just silly. Google Play music is what prefer and hope they don't get rid of it entirely.

This was a great free music app with commercials. But now it is really bad. I can live with commercials but what i cannot live with is the constant auto shut off (about every 10 minutes) of music to "confirm" i am still there. This is horrible so i will no longer use this app.

YouTube Music just doesn't get better. I'm leaving because of their stubborn refusal to add simple customizations, such as the ability to rearrange and sort the library, not getting rid of the useless Hotlist button, the silly dimming of the album art when pressing anything on the screen, no possible way to look up music by genre, the awful implementation of "downloaded" music, and the terrible algorithm on radios and mixtapes. This app isn't ready.

After upgrading to a Samsung Galaxy Note10 + a bunch of music is unplayable. No error, it just keeps on trying to load. If I open the app on my Samsung S8+ I don't get this error. Tried everything from un installing to clearing the cache and no success... UPDATE: Even after the YTM update, no improvement was seen. Still can't listen to music on my galaxy Note 10 but I'm able to listen to the same Playlist on my galaxy s8 plus.... No idea what's going on. I've double checked the setting.

I have never EVER given a 1 star rating before, the reason why im giving you 1 star is because you said "listin to music without staying in the app" so, guses what. I download the app and it says for me to buy music premium, dont listin to them, there just trying to get you to download it and then think that since uve come this far that thay might as well tell you the truth and then buy it, but belive it or not, its been working, but im not going to buy something that you told me is for free

This app lacks a large number of songs, has a terrible user interface, and all play lists and radio stations are basically 20-50 songs on repeat. The experience as a whole is bad and it's even worse knowing that Google play music, which was perfectly fine and could use more features quite honestly, is going to be replaced by it. Avoid use if possible

This App hasn't half of the features Google Music used to have. It's not ready yet to replace it. - lots of albums are missing in YTM but available in Google Music (why ?) - playback function is not working as intended (if you want to play an album, most of the time it will go on "improvising" what you should listen !!! - no detachable player on the web version - cannot import library from google music - cannot import my music (my songs, MP3 files, etc.) - cannot tell if you want to listen to music or watch video ! ...

Use to be one of my favorite apps until they started playing commercials after every single song. From 5 second commercials to 20 second commercials. I will NEVER use this app again. They want you to pay to remove the ads. Yeah, right! I went back to my MP3 player with more music and with zero commercials for free!!!!!

Switched from GPM. YouTube Music has a nice look and works pretty well, however a few issues: 1. App fails to download songs here and there when downloading multiple albums at once. 2. There's a short buffer time between songs, so transitions between tracks aren't seamless. 3. To play downloaded music, you have to select it through the downloads folder. If you play it through another library folder (e.g. albums) it will stream instead. 4. Some songs unavailable to play. 5. No volume matching..?

The app itself is pretty good, but there are some problems or thing that are missing. I wish there was an option to search for a musician in the part that you need to tell wich musicians you like. And there is an annoying thing that when I open my Playlist and then go to search for song, when I'm going back to the Playlist I need to open it again.

Awful. You have to get premium to have anything worth while. Without premium, you have ads (understandable, most apps are like that), no downloading (also understandable) but you also can't leave the app or the music will turn off, or turn off the phone or your music will turn off. That ruins the purpose of a music app. It's literally just YouTube but with only songs available. Absolutely ridiculous.

Good app for music like the mix tape option but takes a little work for it to build up your taste in music as if you only like one or two tracks you will be bombarded with the same thing till you like more. The only other thing I can't work out is how to have the app working in the background so if you come out the app or take a call your music stops and you have to reload the app to carry on also if your screen goes of so does the app which kills the battery but I do like the app alot

Needs a lot of work. UI is a mess. System functions are sloppy and nothing is really ready to take over for Google Play Music. No built-in podcasts. Can't play a song on WiFi and then switch offline even though the song is downloaded unless you choose the song from the Downloads section exclusively. Can't save a playlist created from Start Radio. It's a mess.

So when I downloaded the app it said that I could listen with the screen off without going premium. I was looking forward to this app because I could choose the song I wanted to listen to, but I can't listen with the screen off. So I'm giving it one star. Sorry not sorry

Completely pointless app. Its just the youtube app disquised as a music app. The videos still play so it consumes the same amount of data as the normal one, the adds still interrupt whatever is playing and the app constantly spams you with requests to go premium. If you minimize thr app or close your phone the music stops. Completely pointless.

That was the worst update. It's full of ads! Why can't I access albums and playlists anymore? Why are you removing and blocking songs, forcing me to watch only the music videos? And why are you forcing me to use the Music Premium preview without me allowing it? This update sucks. Fix everything you did with the app! I want the old YT Music back!!!

I love this app so much & used this since March. I can find the exact song I want & listen to premade playlists & easy access my own 👍👍 Some artists don't some of their music/album(s) posted &/OR its copyrighted so I can't listen to audio I have to search for a video (through YT). For example: RAB twenty-one pilots, Youngblood 5SOS, MANIA FOB. 1 complaint since last update: --It shows a gray film over the cover of the song and I don't know how to fix it--can't wait to go premium!

First, no playback widget like pretty much every other respectable music app has. Second, still can't transfer things from Google Play Music to here, so all playlists, songs, albums you added to your library there you have to manually redo in YouTube Music. Third, more library nonsense: if you add an album to your library, the album's artist does not show up in your library under "Artists." In order for the artist to show in your library, you have to subscribe to them.

Completely unfinished app, may as well still be in Beta. Nowhere near full release ability. Google Play Music is still much better. No GPM import, no playlists, no radio stations. It takes every video you've "liked" on YouTube and makes that your library. Every cover song, tutorial and fan remix is now part of your music library. No curation of content. I don't want a music video player. I want a music player with songs directly from the artists. I want to be able to import my 5k GPM songs

Unlike the current top critical review, my experience with this app over Google Play Music has been more than amazing. I'm perfectly fine with this taking over. Settings is very easy to access, clearly at the top right, and I also have a family subscription, which is managed through your Google account and NOT the app. I also accessed my library easily from the third tab, and the selection of music is bigger due to it being YouTube along with everything Google Play Music had.

One of the best ever I see for music with good YouTube ecosystem. Interchangable playlist I think this ever had. And it play music where we stop list time I think this is one of the best feature with video to audio mode. But there is only one problem in the app is that it not support playback speed. If this is there not left for Google to improve. Google please do it.

I am quite disappointed if this product is going to replace Play Music. I've been a fan of Google apps for music. I'm unsure if standards at Google have slipped, but this app is telling me they have. I am not a fan of this app for music. The difference between the two apps is staggering. Google, you need to get it together on this.

I like this app, I also have my own music files on my device and I will give you 5stars once you implement option to access my music library from Android Auto. Android Auto is supposed to prevent you from using your phone and increase safety on roads but in order to pick music I like, I have to use my phone. And using voice assistant is pain in the neck, sometimes you just want to briefly look through your library

Useless app. A complete trash. Requires a premium membership to play audio mode of a song, if you don't have that it's gonna play video then why the hell is this "music" app. To top it all, requires premium membership to play in background (seriously "music app"). Don't download it at all.

With Google Play Music being shut phased out I have no choice but to move over to this app, which is fine. A couple features that Google play has that are needed would be to have a shuffle option for songs not downloaded and a section for podcasts. I would also like to be able to transfer my music library over from Google play to YouTube music without having to find everything again......

Waaay better! I am a die hard Google Play Music user. This app is better! Spend five minutes learning it and you will agree. One enormous shortcoming: I can't let go of GPM until there is a way to migrate my over 1000 CDs that I uploaded over 10 years ago and have long since tossed the CDs. I will be happy to use this app exclusively when that is possible. Migrating playlist would be nice too but much lower on the priority list. I recommend this app!

Won't keep playing without the app open in the background (unlike Play Music) and now I'm going to lose all my playlists because Google doesn't allow us to import from Play Music. I've been a fan of Android and Google since G1, but now seriously considering Apple, iTunes users haven't had to go through this since the 90's (and better integration of products!) I don't know what Google is thinking, I don't watch the music videos anyway. How about keeping and improving Play Music? COMPLETE GARBAGE!

Took a free trial month and tried to download a playlist... Get a modal telling me i need a premium subscription. Restart the app, restart the phone... And the same thing. I guess this thing is a side interest for google and i should go to company whose core business is music. Also what happens if I don't want to download video??? I expected more from what is on paper a brand shift.

This is a good music platform, has some ways to go in comparison to the comp. My biggest complaint is the lack of recognition of mixtapes and underground content. It also isn't recognized as a platform nowhere, not even in Google services. It would be nice to have a widget. Each time the music is interrupted, the widget goes away in the notification bar, so I have to go back into the app to resume play.

I really really enjoy listening offline music when i am on duty but the thing is there are so so so many songs that don't complete the download and just say "waiting 100%" which is a rather large problem for me because i can't play or hear those songs and i work 12 hour shifts . . . I have to have alot of music so that i don't hear the same thing twice in one 12 hour shift . . . I am always braging to people how i got YT MUSIC and how great it is but they don't know the frustration of downloads
