Reviews From google play store

The Washinton Post is one of the best newspapers in the world, one of the top half dozen in the US at least. It doesn't really matter whether it's app is good - it has great news. However, it does have a good app. I can easily follow the important stories and other stories that I want to read. I don't know how the app would work if I lived in Washington DC or was involved in politics / business in DC, and wanted to actually read everything. I hope it would be good for that also.

I really appreciate the fine journalism of the Washington Post, and love the user interface. Sorry to say that when the Amazon prime rate goes up this year, I will have to cancel my Post subscription in order to afford the increase. I will now get my local Sunday paper, and watch PBS news hour to fill the void. Well a few months later, I broke down and resubscribed. l just feel that in the age of lying politicians, it is my duty to support real, honest journalism.

outstanding newspaper, but a little too much coverage of trump at the sacrifice of other things going on in the world. I know you have those things but they're not higher up in the lineup. Trump may get clicks, but it does have a tendency to make me stay away from the publication. You need a better way of getting readers to your other sections

App would be much better if it opened articles from Twitter and email instead of opening them in the browser and asking readers to sign in. Also, the search tool is odd. It doesn't organize results by date or relevance and never gives me the search results I need. The app is great if you open it every morning and read everything immediately, but if you live any other way, it's irrational.

Latest update has rendered this app useless. Am uninstalling. Continually resets to top of scroll even if I'm reading an article. Cannot make it through even reading top headlines before reset. Cant make it more than a few paragraphs into a story before it resets to beginning of list of articles. Kept hoping there would be a fix, but it has been a few weeks.

Especially the coverage of the election process, which is a far cry from our own. I think that I could name all 50 states because of reading your great reporting. Keep up the good work. Still enjoying, except when COMICS seem to be repeated some days.

I really like the design of the app, but feel torn between using it or the classic app. The classic app always seems to have more articles and is always more up to date. This one seems to only be updated two or three times a day. I would love it if all the stories on the classic app were readily available on Select, but I do understand that more design work likely goes into the stories for this app. For the time being it's just me juggling these two apps.

love it. my go to bed source. always backed up with sources verifying what they're reporting. some people hate facts and cry "fake news"

I love the content. Just sad that the full, multi-section Post Most emailings were cut back to just a few articles. It's too hard to scroll by section on the app. Can they be restored?

Update: My complaint appears to be addressed. If you start scrolling up/down, it locks out side swiping. Seems a bit touchy sometimes, but infrequently enough for me dismiss as user error or a fluke. I love the content and layout, my complaint is that when reading an article, if you dont scroll up/down absolutely perfectly, it swipes to the side to a different article. When WP fixes this, 5 stars. Otherwise, great work on the app, and unbeatable content.

Breaking News at My Fingertips. I know that I can count on WaPo for great investigative journalism based on wvidence-based facts. we need WaPo now, more than ever. Keep up the great work!

I hate that I am paying for this app and I am force to get ads. I want to party more money to stop ads and "Branded Stories." I love the content but as soon as another news app has quality content and an ad free option I'll pay up to $25 a month.

Thank you so much for "Keeping us in the light of Democracy" . The INFORMED CITIZEN is the CORNERSTONE of DEMOCRACY. Keep up the"good fight" against Moscow Donnie and his CRIMINAL KLAN

Almost great. The notifications are the only problem with this app. I want a notification of breaking news, not a thought piece on spring cleaning or Suzy Orman's stock tips.

I am a curmudgeon, buy I prefer their original app which makes it easier to browse. The old app is not as slick, but that is ok with me. This app is good... i just prefer the other.

Overall a good app. Easy to use. WP headlines can be a little overly sensational, but I guess that's the world we live in no matter what tribe you belong to.

I just wish there were more free articles. its sad that most free news outlets online are super conservative.

EXACTLY what I paid for. The one issue I have is that even I click on the preview, I am taken to the picture, rather then the story. I am not redirected, instead thrown to the home page, where, hopefully, I can remember the headline, to search for the article.

i like this app as it gives me access to well informed and interesting articles (even if they are a bit biased sometimes). However, when i get a notification and swipe down to read more the text changes color from White to Dark Gray which can make the text hard to read on most darker themes and while Android Pie's night mode is active.

in this day and time I cannot watch news on TV. Much prefer to read it then I can control what goes into my mind. Appreciate the research and detail of the articles. App very easy to use and well laid out.
