Feature rich reader. It highlights the sentence while reading; this may help improve focus. Able to import content from clipboard, PDF, and many other file formats. Intuitive interface; however, I hope the developer simplifies it. It allows you to save the text file for reading later. If you do not like the default sound, try changing pitch, speed, or voice. Easy to create a high quality audio files from any text and use it as an audiobook.

  2. Justin Grey-avatar

apk Great app, I use it for ebooks. Only ever had one issue with it and it's an on going one, it will go with no issues for 3 or 4 hours but then stop playing and after that point it will know play one sentence at a time. Not been able to fix it. If I wait 24 good it works fine again, for 3 or 4 hours at least

  3. Ebony Toilese-avatar

for pc I look for jobs on indeed, I always use this it helps me so much because sometimes It's hard for me to read several job descriptions or to reader I'm driving. I love this App. I used to hate long blogs but now I go to blogs all the time for information. On blogs they usually have more credible information and with this voice aloud reader this is so easy. I have became so comfortable with this and I will probably be lost without it. I've tried other one' and this to me personally is the best one.

  4. Mirena Rhee-avatar

pro apk It really is a nice app, I downloaded all my favorite books in plain text from guttenberg or I would just download a pdf and have it read it to me. If you have been suffering through audible my advice is get rid of audible and use this. No more huge downloads of audio books! Not affiliated with this app whatsoever, I'm just an artist in NYC and I survived the great pandemic by listening to the app read books to me. My studio had no Wi-Fi and I had to rely on my mobile data. Mitenarhee. Com

  5. piyu-za casey-avatar

Loved it!!! This app made my reading experience much productive as using the voice read on it I was able to concentrate more and read more books . After using it for more than 2 months I realised this app is worth the good review. So here I'm back to suggest it to you guys. Such good apps needs to be supported.

  6. Cadrieldur-avatar

UPDATED: Reinstalling the app fixed the problem below. This app remains the best in the Google Play store. Thank you for creating this amazing Voice Reader. The only issue I have is pronunciation. I use the same voices in other apps and it works perfectly. But, in this app the pronunciation of some words are horrible. Can't figure out the problem.

  7. Curt-avatar

Like the program a lot use it all the time but it has trouble with a few words for an example it has a lot of trouble with or it also has trouble with acronyms I would also like it if they couldn't make it when you go to slow down the speed it still had a flow and not so hoping so when you really need to listen to something and you go to slow it down it's just really kind of jerky talk so if they could find a way to slow it down without that jerky talk and make it smoother I think it'd be bet

  8. Veronika Vartanova-avatar

    Veronika Vartanova

A fantastic, wildly customizable reader app, and my go-to for years! I wonder, if there's a chance to somehow integrate Amazon Polly voices (what Amazon made out of Ivona after they bought it) here, like Pocket did? UPD: ah, I see. Too bad Amazon is so greedy... I'll look if there's a way to salvage some of the old versions of Ivona voices for Android 10 then. In any case, thanks for looking into it and replying so quickly!

  9. David K-avatar

This app continues to be the best screen reader in the Play Store. As someone with low vision I can say that compared to other apps, this one does what it promises. I'm also running Android 11 beta 4 and when that broke the app, the developer was very quick to rectify the issue. Thank you for such a great app. I use it constantly throughout my day.!

  10. Flarga Wolff-avatar

It's really good for the most part, but skips anything after ellipsis, jumping straight into the next sentence. (E.g. it reads "Mom died when I was eighteen… had to get by on my own. Didn't find family again until the service." As just "Mom died when I was eighteen. Didn't find family again until the service. ") Is there a way to make it stop doing that?

  11. John Doe-avatar

UPDATED: Something is wrong with the brightness settings of the app. Sometimes it's so dark i can't see anything. when i tab out of it, the brightness of my phone returns to normal. STILL NOT FIXED starting from 12/01/19 until now 6/21/20. Seems to depend on the ad banner that pops up on the bottom of the screen. Please fix

  12. Lightsttn1 A-avatar

This time I was trying to have your APP read the text of what was in the APP, and what it's all about. The reader did some highlighting, and in other places didn't highlight at all. The text as noted that I was reading this time was the text about this APP. If your APP can't do this from start to finish you might have created a file that had all text included that was designed to work without the APP having to stop, and go unless caused by the user. I hope you can find a way to work better.

  13. Sophie Andrews-avatar

This free app is awesome as a way to listen to news articles! (I was used to doing this on the Economist app and wanted to listen to another app Foreign Policy) it has a few awkward things like reading dates eg 1971 as "one thousand nine hundred and seventy one" rather than "nineteen seventy one" or weird vowel sounds like "syst-ee-mic" rather than "syst-eh-mic" type stuff. It is slightly annoying to open each article in the news app and share to the voice aloud one by one but still easy to do!

  14. Nando P-avatar

This is by far the BEST TTS reader on the market, I'd be happy to donate to keep this going. I use this app all the time. Imagine the power of having the ability to listen to any of your learning material from any course or your favourite book as you do other things? - This is it.

  15. Matthew Bergeron-avatar

    Matthew Bergeron

Just what I was looking for and it can even use my Ivona Kendra voice to record 😀 Well worth the $10 for the premium. Would be nice to be able to save files directly to mp3, but it does support wav, which I can easily edit on my computer, or straight convert using a difference app.

  16. unusual score-avatar

It works... It's all right... I just don't like that I have to put the article into the app to read it. So that's a downer. If there was an app that reads straight from the page you're on that would be at least 3 stars.. so I give this a 1 for effort.

  17. benny01253-avatar

This is an amazing piece of software. Totally recommend and very easy to use. You can even copy and paste long emails and it reads or for you and in ways it can save time and you can listen to it read thing while going about your own leisure.

  18. Helena Moette-avatar

ever since my eyesight has begun giving 9ut I have been using this app to read the stuff that doesn't have audiobooks available. the reading only sounds broken on some of the unusual names or neologisms the vocab still doesn't know but you get used to it in no time. recommended!

  19. Giles Blower-avatar

Superb app, flexible and responsive, very clear reproduction and an very human like like level of intonation. It made even the most dense report extremely accessible and enable me to read and listen to enhance my comprehension but also enabled me to still acquire the information whilst multi-tasking. I believe that as a person with mild dyslexia this is a brilliant asset for anyone whose job requires any level of reading. I wholeheartedly reccomend to other potential listeners install this app

  20. Meeran E. Mandhini-avatar

    Meeran E. Mandhini

I love this app & decided to buy. Yet, appearant play store payment glitch I'm struggling to buy the premium license. Although developper help me in resolving, I keep struggling with installing the license. Five star for the App & its responsive developper. Disgusted with Google Play Store.

  21. Steve green-avatar

Great product. Wish that the script could find the term "next chapter" and automatically load the next chapter without me having to exit app and share it. It should only load 1 extra chapter at a time so that it doesn't load too much text

  22. Maryse Day-avatar

Strangely enough I haven't lost my mind, yet. It's the only read aloud app I've ever used and it used to read the whole text without copy/paste. As soon as I can find another one that can do what this one used to do, yours is gone.

  23. Diane Paleracio-avatar

    Diane Paleracio

Hi Developer! Thank you for creating such an awesome application. Reading a pdf continuously without flipping the pages, having an highlights which shows what it reads and mostly my favorite part is when you can save the audio as mp3.

  24. Tim Bugh-avatar

Very useful. I use it every morning to listen to my emails while I'm getting ready. Just wish it were easier to set up settings to Auto talk when I copy things, but not everything.

  25. Monaheng Nteso-avatar

This is the best screen reader or text reader. I recommend this app to you guys who don't have time to read or want to multitask. This helps me listen to books while doing other tasks. This is the best app ever.

  26. tom kalter-avatar

Menu is not easy to use. I admit I need a dummy book for I still have a lot of trouble navigating url insert items. When it reads it works well. Voice has come along way, not so robot as early days

  27. Gigi Remy-avatar

Amazing app, the voice doesn't sound too robotic and the words are pronounced accurately and clear. Though I would love if the voices comes in different accents instead of speaking in different languages

  28. J Alexander-avatar

Speech keeps stopping at end of sentences. Have to press play button on my headphones to carry on. Maybe something in the settings I haven't done. Will rate 5 stars if you can advise me how

  29. Logfire Creativ-avatar

    Logfire Creativ

Awesome! Works great, good voices, different languages, let your eyes relax and simply enjoy that sunset while that longwinded website/pdf/whatever is read to you! What's not to like :)

  30. Laura magner-avatar

Apparently you can only use this app using their plugin for books and their books are rather old. Nothing new and nothing interesting. I wanted this to read my ebooks to me but apparently that won't happen with this app.

  31. Matheus jones zago-avatar

Having problems with the highlight and spoken Text. Please fix sync loss between highlight and spoken text. The highlight (yellow) moves much faster and the voice does not follow.

  32. Richard Anekwe-avatar

I was having issues installing the app on my Redmi 7, but I noticed it has been rectified. This is the best screen reader especially for somebody like me with low vision.

  33. David Ribeiro da Silva-avatar

Very good. It's necessary to make the design seem more beautiful. But the functionalities and features are wonderful. Great job.

  34. Dinesh Malla-avatar

Very helpful for students, especially when you have to read for hours and hours ..thick books. Great app !!!

  35. Pankaj r-avatar

In the new update it is not working at all .everytime i open it it will be reading the same sentence. I have reinstalled it but it does not work at all.

  36. Michael Justice-avatar

    Michael Justice

The ease-of-use is the best. I have written a long list of Bible studies and am compiling into a book. I love the opportunity to hear it read back to me helping me feel what God had spoken to my heart at that time. Also it allows one to relax and listen without having to read a screen or book, especially beneficial when you're tired.

  37. Okelue Chidubem-avatar

    Okelue Chidubem

You are lucky you found this app. It reads even WhatsApp and any text. Just copy the text, and and it starts reading. No data required. God bless the producers

  38. Sheila Kennedy-avatar

Loving this app I needed it to help me focus a little more. The TTS preinstalled accesibility feature/app is not working like it should so thank you for your app.

  39. Pavel Lujardo-avatar

Deleting and reinstallig the app fixed the "reading too fast" problem I was having. I'm giving you your five stars back. It's a great app, but keep improving it.

  40. Özer Erdoğan-avatar

Best text to speech app I ve used. Supports many different language and voice options. It can be used to convert many things to podcasts

  41. fireburd phinix-avatar

the app is very nice giving you a wide range of customizations however it creates a problem when you want to fast forward the text

This past update has made it so when I import my pdfs it is skipping significant amounts of text. The book is unreadable.

  43. Doctor Strange-avatar

Productive. Effective. Handy. But all the selected texts are not read, app abruptly stops reading the texts ; bug problem ?

  44. Sheldon Hildebrand-avatar

    Sheldon Hildebrand

I have tried ten or more apps. This one is by far and away the best document reader that exists today. Even Apple and Window programs live in this ones shadow. The words are very easy to understand. So customizable and convenient to use on the phone. It even has the bookmarks listed so you can just jump to a certain page within a pdf document. If you want to make any webpage or document an audiobook, this is your app. get it!!!!

  45. manoj arora-avatar

Just have when I use head phone sometimes it goes automatically pause please solve this problem.. Where should I find saved books as my library as listening now books..

  46. UPPERROOM-avatar

Beautiful and versatile. I can listen to infinite words which saves me from straining my eyes and hold anything before reading. Now I can listen to an entire write up while doing others things. I can listen over and over again untill it becomes a part of my memory and I remember with ease. The app can save text, select ancient and many more. For now it's perfect!!!

  47. Dani Baloyi-avatar

The best app ever! Helped me a lot as I prefer voice readings.... I love it !!

  48. Baz Cuda-avatar

Superb app. And you can modify the way it reads out certain words, letters and symbols; or have it ignore them altogether, which is very useful in some epub or mobi documents where page headers and footers have incorrectly become part of the page text. I tried several apps. This one is far and away the best of the lot, particularly as you can modify its behavior.

  49. Sass-avatar

I absolutely adore the app because as far as TTS apps go, this is by far the best I've come across. However since the previous update it started to randomly mention when text was bold (it would for "red" then say "strong red" if bold). Another problem i encountered is that some dialogue uses < > instead if quotes and i can't get the app the stop pronouncing the symbols. Other than that the app is awesome, esp since u can change the pronunciation of things (great for fantasy names)

  50. NinaPintaSantaMaria-avatar

Considering all the other ones in the market are pretty crappy, this app is fair game. It sounds monotonous at first but if you play and tune the pitches, speed, pauses, voice, etc. You'll eventually find the right wavelength that doesnt make you cringe. Pdf with pictures doesnt usually work, youd have to somehow convert it into text first. Hope this helps

  51. Sam Roberts-avatar

The developer is my hero! Thanks so much for helping me read longer articles or short books. I'm dyslexic so I managed to load pdfs in the Dyslexie font and the right background and text colours and size so I can even read along. The usability, flexibility and voice selection is better than Google. Wish they could make voices completely natural without stuttering but give it time.

  52. Diane R-W-avatar

Love this app. What a great idea. I've been wanting to further my learning, (not with podcasts, the old fashioned way), but just can't find the time to sit and read. This app has opened a whole new world for me. Just one fix please: teach this app how to read dates, not one thousand nine hundred and ninety right, but 1998 please.

  53. T-e-l-y T-avatar

This is the best text-to-speech reader ever! I've tried several other ones, and they don't even compare. And the support is outstanding. After a couple years of using it, something happened with my phone that made the app malfunction. I contacted them, and they responded right away (on a weekend!) and walked me through how to fix it. I wholeheartedly recommend this app.

  54. Norm Bolser-avatar

I am SO impressed. I like audiobooks, almost to the exclusion of ebooks anymore. But, not all books are available in audio. Picked up a couple ebooks that I really wanted to read/listen to and the thought struck me to try an ebook to audio reader. My expectations weren't high. The last time I tried this, the voice was totally mechanical and pronunciation generally sucked. Tried a couple others first and they were OK. Not great, but pretty darned good. Last and final was Voice Aloud.

  55. J L-avatar

I think there is a lot of potential in this app. However the file navigation is painful (the CHANGE STORAGE VOLUME option is buggy; had to select file outside the app and use an "open with"); changing reading speed isn't obvious and not explained in online docs, which is a dealbreaker for me for this kind of app. Also, ads are next to the play button, which is not acessibility-friendly. Looking forward to seeing a more mature version in the future sometime, but for now I will be uninstalling.

  56. Friedriche vicente-mutuc-avatar

    Friedriche vicente-mutuc

A great app. Been using it in my writing to look for typos and grammatical errors that my word processor missed. I had to build up a whole library of custom pronunciation, but it was worth it. SSML implementation seems a bit spotty, but I'm not sure if it's Google TTS or this app. I use a break tag to add pauses after special characters like em-dashes, semicolons, and elipses, but all sentences that have those characters will read contractions such as "don't" as "don T." I don't how to fix it.

  57. Glenn Fischberg-avatar

    Glenn Fischberg

I give it 3 stars because it's better- organized than most... but it often grossly mispronounces even simple words, yet when trying to use the "edit speech" function (which I admire as a way to enter phonetic guidance when there are errors), it already pronounces the test of that word just fine when spelled normally, leaving no correction possible... Go back to the document though, and it repeatedly reads inappropriately for reasons not clear. Example: stress pronounced as "essteeress."

  58. Serious-avatar

Ads pop up and freezes the app. Some ads takes up half the display especially when you have the pitch options on, if your thumbs are big its guaranteed to click into ads. The ads visually is smaller than the ad's buttons area which are quite large. If you have slower net then the problems above will magbified due to unseen popups and ad size changes that registers touch before appearing visually, which resukts in closing the documenets. Reply: latency and button location will help you understd

The app is the best one as I have ever used so far. However, I wish that developer can improve it a little bit more. I am greedy... . So, please improve some funtions as the followings: - Do not read aloud (avoid read aloud) punctuations: tilde, ellepsis, quotation masks, dot, star, etc. Or... give user an optional to choose. - Increase a little bit "pause" between comma as default (i.e., in range of 50-100 miliseconds) or create an option for user to set. Bestssssssssssssss

  60. Brother Barasa-avatar

Very nice with natural voices. I'm using it in converting students class notes into audio

  61. Nathan Baba-avatar

Great app except that the app jump some reading that if you are not following the text being read, you might get confused

  62. Banu 02-avatar

After years of using I encountered reoccurring problem - sometimes all content in reading lists suddenly disappears, which is frustrating, as I add a lot of webpages and I can't possibly remember what I have planned to read later. Maybe there is a limit of how much of data this app can remember, would be great to know that. Therefore 4/5 stars. Still best TTS app I ever used.

  63. Kenneth Paul-avatar

Good app let down by file handling Hence the four stars instead of five. Finding a file is so bad 500 words don't cover it. A simple in app file browser find, tap, open, thats all you need. Theres already dedicated ebook readers the whole point is this can read word files. Added a file to a read list and in the app it had been allocated a serial No??? Don't know how I got my file to open in the end asked me for a number at one point. Worth putting up with coz reading bit works beautifully

  64. ravjot singh-avatar

Seems difficult to find, from where to start reading in case long pdf are opened(in my case 632 page pdf was divided in 32 part, and I was able to find my page on part 22. It was so hactic to find it) . This is because pdf is divided in several parts. It would be more beneficial if pdf will be shown in app as it is, that is as if it is opened in Adobe acrobat reader with same highlighting function which your app provides. Moreover it's best app for reading. Thanks for developing it.

This is a very marvelous app. I feel at peace doing my research with this app. My eye muscles become more relaxed and I rarely loose concentration while reading. I have lots of pdf's and epub's but I just don't get the time to read them. Sincerely from the depth of my heart thank you developer .

  66. Terra Lia-avatar

This app is nearly perfect. Nearly. Almost. Does exactly what I want, has boatloads of options. But. BUT. And this is a big but. IT KEEPS DELETING MY READING LISTS AND ARGHHHHH. Drives me nuts. Would be the perfect light novel reading tool but for this especially irritating quirk. Save me, please....

  67. Надежда Иванова-avatar

This is adorable app. I can "read" rare books. I can manage a score so I better understand a robot's voice. Unless I can't manage a list of books: selected books didn't add at the list. I can add one book. Also now I met read XX centure as iks-iks, not a twenty. Can you improve this situation?

  68. 覺曉-avatar

Cannot update to ver. 18 as the new version cannot read the SD card properly. Also Chinese - Cantonese seems to have problem. Edit: Thanks for replying. I tried ver. 19.2 but the SD card problem persists. Edit 2: Got a new phone with latest OS, it can read now but the reading list is almost useless as the reading stop when it reach the end of each text file.

  69. Dayerr Owinom-avatar

I wish I could change where the sentence breaks are. I'd like it to consider bracketed text a new sentence, so that it would have a small break before. Also it incorrectly breaks dates like "27. tammikuuta" into two sentences (because of the dot). I've been fixing many issues with the regex replace (awesome feature BTW), but I can't customize the sentence breaks. Also if the page being read has links, I'd like to be able to add them to the reading queue.

  70. zack g-avatar

love this app. they're the best Text to speech app, highly customizable.

I did what you said. The files are not there. I checked the directories. They are gone. This has happened before. Some files were still in the directory and I was able to add them back to the list, and I had to recreate the other files. It wasn't many so was no problem. This time I lost a ton of files, including the reading list name. Disappeared. Everything is gone. I just lost an entire reading list. Can it be retrieved?

I like to use this when I'm driving. I also like how u can just select a link, share it, and select this app and it will immediately start reading it out loud. It is super convenient. I would like to somehow be able to use it to read my kindle books. I'm not sure the solution for that but otherwise it is very handy. I use it all the time.

This app is worst in terms of pdf file opening. it does not open pdf just exactly as it is in the file. many things will be missing and disarray . More works need to done on pdf. You have not got it right in term of pdf at. Tons of pdf files from me will convince you. Apps like "librera Reader" open them exactly like they are in the pdf file. But your app ommit things and put it in disarray

This app looks great but I cannot figure it out. I want to use it to read aloud my own documents that I create on google docs. That's it: open the app, direct it to the file I want read, press play. Unfortunately when I direct it to google drive docs, it just keeps saying "ERROR: Cannot read text from file: content://com.google.android.apps.docs/storage/documents/acc etc, etc," Can anyone please explain how to simply open a google doc and have it read???

Not able to use this app for reading webpages as it asks for java script to be enabled, which is already enabled yet I get this message.

I’m a blind from the Philippines. Since I found your app some two years ago, I never really use another one. Thank you for this. P.S. I like your decision of returning the old one you used for your file managing. My screen reader crashes when I’m not focusing on the app durig the process.

This app is great, it has super charged my concentration because I am listening at the same time I read. Makes reading faster too because I don't start getting side tracked as I'm reading where I end up reading the same lines over and over again.

This app is designed and easy to use but the problem is that it saves what it does inside the app, so you can't locate it in phone downloads or elsewhere, it's un finished app. Work on it to improve, and let saved projects be in gallery or download. I was really disappointed after finishing a project I can't retrieve it. Am giving 2 STARTS

This app consistently exceeds my expectation in every way. You can even customize the text font color and background to darker shades! The developer has been unbelievably forward thinking in designing this specialized voice app. Try this and have your relationship with books transformed for good!

This looks good but the Google Drive synchronization portion is broken so I can only give it 2 Stars.

My experience with this app has been great so far. There were some books in a PDF format that I wanted to be read to me because sometimes I don't have the time to sit down and read a book. It converts your PDF files and it reads them to you. So I can have them read to me while I'm cooking cleaning and doing chores around the house😊

I love this app, it reads all kinds of documents and you can change the voice how you like it. There's also settings for if it should skip reading page numbers and titles and such. After an explanation from the dev on how to make it read in the right order when pdfs are written in the wrong order, it's 5/5 ;)

When i upload pdf, text showing different. I select marathi book.but text showing somthing else.only for english its working good.

Reading works great. The UI is counter-intuitive to me. Eg. The way it handles playlists. Or book navigation. Can,t seem to 'jump to' specific place e.g. by percentage read. So touch errors can cost u a lot of time scrolling to find ur place again.

In my opinion, this app is far MORE BETTER than Google's Text to Speech Engine.

Best TTS app out there. I tried many but this one stands out because of the range of natural reading voices. The premium version is well worth it. I only wish the loading of the files were a bit more intuitive and user-friendly.

Awesome, my books, and pdf an all was automatically downloaded soon as I added the app.

Was a great app till I was told in an email if I didn't want to loose 60% of my screen to ads while in landscape I'd have to purchase the paid version.. having used this app for over a year.. I would suggest Evie over this now. Less tts options but 100 % less adds.

Amazing support in dealing with an issue i had. Great app!

I have loved this app for years. Use it to listen to pretty much everything so I dont have to read it. It's easy to copy and paste or share with the app. Its particularly useful to hear my own writing which allows me to catch errors and fix them.

  92. Juan Miranda-avatar

Amazing, this app has changed my life. Paired with google cloud voice this app is like a personal human narrator. Took some time to learn the whole app but being able to change the pronunciation of words and what the computer reads is amazing.

Good app. Will be much better if it can read PowerPoint files. Also while listening to files and music at the same time, the luetooth buttons control only the music. I'd rather it controlled the document read out.

Works great, only somewhat issues is when I clear it from my app history it still plays

  96. Deepak Sawant-avatar

Very useful App for me. Just one thing, it is cutting some statements from the book while converting it. Also, wherever starting letter of paragraph it given in other font it is reading it seperately e.g. "The" as "T" and "he".

  97. Andre Force-avatar

100% Easy to use. Excellent for reading the web, news stories, PDF or just about anything you need to be read. I especially love it to read for me to use for cooking recipes! - Thanks for this app!

I'm 60+ years and my eyes are terrible. Using my phone as a phone is no problem, but using the Internet on my phone is so upsetting when I can't read anything. This app READS everything to me. I can select and read it copy it and read it later. Truly a quality of life enhancement. I'd go 10 stars if I could. I can... ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  99. Keith Rice-avatar

Unbelievable that you can't just paste text in a text box for it to read. You would think this would be one of the most basic features. Sharing from a web page doesn't work. Only a snippet of the page I shared got sent.

Great App, if only it had cloud sync for article library and progress
