Extremely difficult to navigate the sky. Seems to get stuck on a constellation or object that accidentally touched. The screen is far too bright for use at night.

star walk 2 - night sky view and stargazing guide I do wish that if one possess Star Walk 2 ALL ACCESS, then the simpler version, Star Walk, for Children I tutor, would automatically be ALL ACCESS as well!

star walk 2 night sky view and stargazing guide apk This app is amazing and very accurate I just have one problem, when you zoom in on the moon and sun the size changes. When the moon and the sun are close together in the sky, it looks like like a partial lunar eclipse, but when you zoom in they are actually pretty far apart.

just wish my phone had the right sensors to make this awesomer, but it's pretty much the best guide to the sky I've found.

Fabulous graphics, full of info. Like the real time sky ID, wave your camera to the sky and get a good idea of what you are looking at.

Superb app! I bought all the add ons, very much worth it for those astronomy buffs.

Worst stargazing app ever. Can't see neowise comet? Buy extended solar system pack! And wait, now it's locked again, cause now you have to pay all-in-one bundle after we change our mind and exclude neowise from it. Greedy and useless application. Don't believe support telling it's not true, I've double checked my purchase history and yes, I bought extended solar system pack and neowise still locked.

This app is one of the best I've tried when it comes to how it works and with it's info. I've used both this and the free version for a couple of years now. I'd give it 5 star if I could regain my purchase to the fullest but no. This one and the free version won't extract the extended solar system and when I've spoken to the developer I get the run around. It's not an uninstall and install or soft reset or factory reset of phone. Or storage issues! It's not a SIM card or SD card either. So help?

  13. Jason Cotter-avatar

    Jason Cotter

I used to love this app. I purchased all the extra stuff. When I reinstalled the app after an accidental uninstall, I lost it? It says I can buy it ALL for $2.99, shouldn't it reflect that it's already been purchased? I would change my rating if that was fixed. I picked this stargazing app out of all the ones I experimented with. Maybe I'm overlooking something or doing something wrong. I have a PlayPass subscription so I get it on the free version. I would still like my purchase to be acknowle

I've been using this app since 2-3 years now. And I paid for the premium version 2 months ago. It is really worth it. And also I haven't find a better app on play Store. It also runs without internet which is great, and the positioning of plannets and meteors is also very very accurate. In short a very well made application:) Keep showing us new updates and content! Regards to the Vito devs, Karman

I downloaded starwalk 2 free, then paid about $6.96 for all the extra extensions. I couldn't access them, so I went ahead and paid for the starwalk 2 full app, logged back into that and now it's telling me I have to pay for the bundle again. I was supposed to have been sent some redeem codes, but I never got those. Can't recommend this app at all right now. Maybe if the developers fix this problem, then I will be able to recommend it. *tried to get a refund for $3.00 and was denied.

You bought the app just to found it is not fully function and you need to pay extra money to get it works, which makes me hesitate to buy the addons, because it makes me feel trapped and doubt if there is another one awaiting after paid one. Why don't put the whole price in the app and people will determine? Is the price too high if put together?

  17. Christopher Seabolt-avatar

    Christopher Seabolt

As stated by others, a great app in theory. I was attempting to find NEOWISE, and needed the "extended solar system". Apparently, i already have that permission as there is no purchase option, but am unable to extract it. After several frantic emails with customer support - i dont want to wait the 6,800 years to see the comet again - and several attempts at reinstallation, the ultimate best solution suggested was a factory reset. Tried that - wiped my phone in the process - and still unresolved.

It is a great app I just wish there were options to turn on and off galaxies so you don't have to be zoomed in to see. maybe a button that you could push in the settings that would allow you to see certain amounts of galaxies like stellararium

  20. Allison Barr-avatar

Amazing! However, had to pay extra. But, I say it's worth it. Thanks to this app, I am able to see where nebulas, galaxies, comets, etc are! It's so cool! Amazing app, highly reccomend.

  21. Daniel Lee-avatar

    Daniel Lee

In theory, a great app and I have had it for ages. But you have to buy a load of extra content when you get in the app. Also, the compass feature seems to longer work. It used to work a treat, what's changed? I have no idea, but apparently my phone no longer has certain features it did before. That was the main attraction to the app for me and. Is gone.

  22. Ryan Blackhawke-avatar

I can't get enough of this app. It has rekindled my childhood love of astronomy. I really appreciate the info section that describes all there is to know about a celestial object. The app has never crashed on my and it isn't a battery hog.

  23. Dallas Rudd-avatar

Initial fee + upgrade fee...= nothing more Than another fee to turn on.......the app. It has no global positioning, like the original... Waste of money ...& a final $1.46 to finally Turn it on is an insult .

Awesome app, even in the base free version. What an incredible information we have there. You can dive in for hours. And what an awesome animation. Easy to navigate and intuitive.

  25. Rob Widdicombe-avatar

    Rob Widdicombe

Little bit disappointed in that after all the purchasing of additional content, the display offers the least usable way of identifying deep sky objects. In a constellation displayed they are not labelled unless you zoom in. You have to know that they are there rather than have them clearly labelled on the sky map at constellation scale. Unless, of course, I'm missing something in the setup!!

  29. Guy Hickey-avatar

I bought the $5 full app after seeing that you can track the ISS - but was saddened to learn that you need to pay another $4.95 inside the app in order to actually see the ISS at all. I'd pay it right now but it says I have insufficient funds. I think I just wasted my last good $5 of play credit :(. I would have purchased a different app if I had known this one was a lemon.

  30. Surge Raval-avatar

App doesn't let you do anything without asking to pay 2.99 for additional content. Basically the sale is not a sale, what's the point of having a paid for version if its just as limited as the free version. Don't waste your time downloading this. The app dev is obviously greedy.

  31. Marc Monette-avatar

Cash grab... I paid $3.99 for the app and 10 seconds after I opened it, I was asked to pay an additional $3.99 to get access to additional features.... I'm not a happy camper.

You buy the app then it says you have to buy the additional content. Then I bought the additional content and you can only search 1 object in the sky at a time. Why cant I choose it to show the messier objects while I'm roaming the sky? Seems like a pretty basic feature...

Ive always loved looking at the stars. I didn't know one planet from another save Venus. Now I recognize Jupiter, Saturn & tonight's "Red Planet". The only constellations I could recognize were the Big & Little Dippers & Orion. Each night I look forward to finding some new. Andromeda, Cassiopeia, Pegasus & Bootes, Cygnus (the Swan), are just a tiny few in the Summer night sky of the Northeast. Thanks for making the Pandemic a little easier - at night at least.

I love this app. The graphics are amazing and there's tons of info. The ONLY thing I don't like about the app is that when you set a time and date to look at different dates' skies, the slider used to adjust is WAY too touchy. Most other sky apps use an input system where you just type the date and time. With this slider on Star Walk 2, you spend more than twice as much time just trying to get the slider to stop on the correct one without flying past it. It's very very annoying.

App is great. Always has been. Especially if you're not dumb and know how apps & app stores work. I paid $3 two phones ago. I've never had an issue. Dont blame the app if you don't know how to calibrate your compass. Dont blame the app when you spend $12 on a $3 app. Email the developer before writing a "review". For those people coming here for ONE comet. You dont have a clue.

I purchased the all in one bundle which worked for several months. Then after one of the app updates the add on bundle competitively stopped working saying i had no purchased add on even though it is still showing in my purchase history. I sent am email to the app writers and they were completely of no help and said it's a Google problem and wouldn't help me. What a complete disgrace, i would recommend not to buy ANY add on bundle until they fix this problem!!! Will you finally help me?

Looks beautiful but after I paid for it I discovered that I had to pay again to get the full functionality of it. Instead of charging for half an app why not offer just the free and full version. I still might have paid the full $7.98 if they had been up front with me from the beginning. Now I'm just pissed off. Refund, uninstalled.

Wow, greedy, don't bother. Pay a fee to get the app, then pay more in-app fees to unlock features? Oh and your phone doesn't have the required sensors to run the extra features... Hey, thanks for letting me know before I paid to dowload your app. Joke. ...So you think the issue here is that I don't understand how in-app purchases work? Good work team, really, you're amazing. -- Why spend the money to download non-functioning app in the first place? Or pay more for anything? It doesn't work!!!!!

Very cumbersome and counterintuitive UI. You can't really understand what you are looking at in the sky. You can't really find the desire object location in the sky. Even a paid version asks you to pay more for more objects which you can't really identify. Also very inprecise objects location (the Moon is quarter of the screen to the left on the star map from the one in the camera's viewfinder) on the start field so, again, your can't identify the object you are looking at.

Confusing app with way too many adverts for a paid app.. Bought additional content but so far haven't received any code to unlock it. Dissatisfied as everything is locked behind the upgrade making it almost a requirement when they should include it all in the "starter" price. I complained about the lack of an unlock code... Still waiting

$2.99 download and then another $2.49 inside the app when you launch it actually unlock things. What's the point of charging us twice other than being a trap to make you feel like you have to spend the rest of the money? Just go ahead and charge the $6 for the app from the start.

I felt cheated and refunded my $. They keep saying info abt xyz here and then when you want to see it you have to pay more. False advertising. Its one thing in the free app but if I'm using the paid version at least be clearer abt what's required to access the info you're advertising

Just installed the app, going through the menu the Sky Live screen hangs the app and the whole pad forcing a restart. Not an impressive beginning. Change to one star would give it a zero if I could. Had me reinstall it and now I get nothing but a black screen.

A great app that really helps identify objects in the night sky! I like everything about it except the date/time selection tool. It is much too sensitive to the touch and can be a major pain when trying to "rolling" the numbers to your desired date and time. A little less sensitive would be nice.

Annoying. Can't move the phone around and have the app correctly identify what's in your view. I've moved my view 180°, and East stays facing forward, rather than now showing West. It's a real guessing game.

It's OK. Coming from Sky Guide this app has way less deep sky objects but it's still pretty good. For some reason you can't select or search for the (Large Magellanic Cloud) which is very strange as you can search for the Small Magellanic Cloud. Also a lot of the deep sky objects are poorly pasted into the app. Please make it look like it's actually supposed to be there instead of taking a screenshot and pasting into the app. (That Small Magellanic Cloud picture is horrible. Please use a better one) Last thing, I hate how when you zoom into a deep sky object and when you unselect it the whole object the whole thing magically disappears. Why? This app is only good if you want quick information on it. Don't expect to spend more then 10 minutes on it. Adrian

No worthwhile additions from the original, but now it has multiple levels of payment. The IAP is more expensive than the app itself, and it is clearly an arbitrary addition of what should already be included in the purchase price, in an effort to generate more revenue. It's like buying a car and having it delivered with no doors; there's an extra charge for those. It's not ok, even if you mention it in the details. You're not paying for an extra, you're paying something that should be included.

Beware. I bought this primarily for 2 of its advertised features: Star Spotter, which allows you to point your phone at the sky and get a live representation of the sky which moves with the phone, and Augmented Reality where the image from your camera will be overlaid with the app-generated sky, allowing you to know what is right above you. Neither of these features is available on my device, a) because it doesn't have a built in magnetometer in the hardware - a Moto G7 play running Android 9, and b) it seems the Augmented Reality function is only available on Apple devices. However, you don't find this out until you have purchased the app and its add-ons. Should be made clear before purchase that the two key features might not work on many devices. Apart from that, there are other issues. The map of the night sky is nice and updated in real time, however, many of the stars have little or no information about them, and clicking on information will only bring up a generic script telling you what a star is: thanks, I know already. Many of the deep space objects turn out to be poor blurred images when zoomed-in on.

Even when I bought it, the ads for a premium version came up when I asked to view the andromeda galaxy. Not cool. Basically, buying this app doesn't mean you get to see all the stuff you want to see up close. You have to pay to see certain things, but you already thought you paid for it all. Google Sky is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better^1000. Dont buy this app. Banner, out.

Really cool app that does not accurately track location & direction. I have calibrated it tons of times and it is still a good bit off from where the stars and planets actually are, which kind of defeats the purpose... UPDATE: They updated the app and the tracking is much, much better. Still not perfect, but the fact that the devs are nice enough to respond to my issue and help with an update make we give them 5 stars regardless. Thanks for the customer service.

Really great app! Easy to navigate and full of extra information including mythological tales connected to individual constellations. One thing I'm missing is an option to switch the names of objects (mostly constellations) into another language or ideally to show both - the current name and the name in preferred language. Could you please add this feature? I can help you with Slovak and Czech names. Thanks!

Thanks in advance....

this app is awesome Beyond what I can think of writing to describe it... But as of late the compass system has got things all out of wack, as it shows the Earth basically being on a side rolling axis and the Sun passing underneath the globe during the day... yes i have checked my time and sensor calibration settings. Wondering if this is a developer bug or something on my end? will give 5 stars after answer comes back as I've been using the app happily for a while now. thanks guys

Be careful before you buy the app. 1. Before you buy the app, it (the free one) keeps showing ads to remind the users that there is another app which has no ads. 2. After you buy it, it also keeps showing reminders to let the users give it a rate. It can not be closed, which is very annoying. The app didn't know what the users really need, it is more useless than those free apps.

This app is a stargazing experience on your phone! So full of information and the graphics are beautifully done. For just a few dollars you get so much more additional content. The money they ask for is well earned, being that this app is so great and put together so well. The low volume music that is playing in the background is such a nice touch also. My accolades to the developer or developers! Post Script, the app has dark mode! Very, very cool.

Very Well Done I downloaded the free version and was so pleased with the functionality! I love the current celestial updates and I actually purchased the full version. The developer(s) obviously have a love for astronomy and know how to share that love. This app has sparked a curiosity and enjoyment of the heavens that has been long dormant. It appears suitable for all ages. This is the best of the best and I have tried many. Give this one a place in your app drawer!

Love this, as a beginner it is very easy and helpful. I bought a telescope, and I use this app to check if I get it right. And I have found stars quite easily with this. It also gives you alerts, about upcoming events, which is handy. And with it having a night setting, it does not dazzle your eyes. I would recommend this even for the experts. Been using it for a while now and I have not been disappointed in this app, would recommend this to anyone.

Such a great app. My favourite part is being able to tap on a constellation and see the stars as a 3D model, all in relation to one another. For instance, see how much further away the middle star of Orion's belt is than the two either side. I'm also a fan of SkySafari for more in depth stuff, but Star Walk 2 is invaluable in its own right.

Pleased to have this superb app. Beautiful graphics. Very informative and easy to navigate, great for learning where our stars are. Very useful for finding out what that thing is in the sky, that you're looking at.. It's a star, no it's a planet, it's a comet, (opens app and points toward object) nope it's just a satellite lol.

I like this version even more than my previous one. I can't believe the graphics when I am looking at the real time interface. It is incredible to have such well thought details about the present and what to watch for in the coming days. I like the reminders to "look up." It's a user friendly interface. ***Edit. If you have a Huawei brand smartphone, this app wont work. I would just avoid the headache. Beautiful graphics and information. Possibly the best looking and polished star app. Only thing wrong is the the compass flips the UI upside down when I turn 90 degrees to the left (pointing East). *** For those wondering how to turn on compass mode, just move your phone around and it will turn on on its own.

Im using this app with a Samsung S9. It has some nice improvements from the first version. However the tracking of celestial objects needs some improvement. I'm limited on left to right calibration only. Once I matched up the moon, it doesn't stay matched up as I turn around. Star Walk on the iPad2 did a great job of tracking.
