    Vid Angel, are you serious?! You have such a great product/service and you're ruining it with this update! Read the reviews! They're not good. People are no longer happy. I am so frustrated with trying to get the stupid app to "find" my fire TV and then once it does, it never plays on the TV. Ever. I've spent the entire time allotted for movie watching with the kids troubleshooting and trying to watch. Please just go back to the app on Fire TV and allow us to control streams from it.

    the chosen Can't get app to send to TV. Only finds Roku on my smart tv, not ones with Roku stick. I have to share my phone screen to project in TV, horrible quality. Since I have to send from my phone, my kids don't have the option to use unless I am home and available. Will likely cancel subscription if service doesn't change and improve.

    subscription I love it, I really do! I just need better stream quality from them. It's so grainy when streaming back to me. I never have any issues with streaming with Netflix or Amazon, 1080p and 4K when available, but with VidAngel the quality is lessened. I will call my representatives. I've even continued to pay for the service while not using it for months at a time just to support the cause. I'm passionate about Vid Angel, but I'm also a videophile and I need my stuff to be crisp and clear, so please work on that.

    free Can't cast to my TV. I follow all the instructions, and the app can't find my Roku. It constantly makes me sign into Netflix instead of saving my connection, and then Netflix makes me change my password because of it. The only thing I can watch is Amazon, but that doesn't work because my only option is to watch it on my phone. The streaming through the app is terrible. It's always buffering, doesn't remember where I'm at, and half the time it's pixelated. I'm cancelling my subscription.

    free trial Used to be great. I was able to watch it through the app on my smart TV but they recently took that option away saying it will only work on phones and tablets I believe. Problem is that when I cast it to my tv now, it's not nearly as smooth and crisp as it used to be. This review will instantly turn to a 5 star when they bring back apps for smart TVs. This is a huge step back for vidangel doing this

    blog The Chosen is great so far, but watching it is maddening! Each time we watch it, cast to our Samsung tv from my phone, it stops at 15 to 20 minutes into the episode. The only way to get it going is to refresh, which starts it from the beginning.

    vs clearplay If your smart TV is not made after 2017, you will not get the best service has nothing to do with this app, it's your TV people must keep that in mind when using or streaming to an older smart TV. I'm in the same boat except I did my own research. I'm new to the app but I'll rate you differently latter. Thanks

    the chosen season 2 Updated app still doesn't connect to FireTV or Roku. Have tried force close and restart but still can't find Roku devices on same network. Disappointed that Vidangel is no longer supporting Roku app that worked to force us to use phone app that isn't working to stream to Roku.

    game of thrones Playback is terrible. All choppy and gets stuck. Problems playing Amazon Prime with this, and now Amazon won't work at all unless you download the app but the app really sucks. Love the idea of VidAngel but poorly excuted service as of late.

    movies Had to cancel after they made you "cast" to your roku because no matter what I do it will not find my roku. Followed their instructions and still nothing. Very sad they are making you use an app that is complete junk for such a good service.

    It will not connect to my roku. I can get other things to connect/ screen share but this app will not connect making it useless. Stinks since we wanted to watch the chosen as a family.

    I may have been better off without Vidangel, because now with VidAngel, I watch a whole lot more TV than I ever did before. Movies are just better without the garbage. Vidangel is an excellent service.

    A year ago when we first got the VidAngel Service it was amazing. Everything worked wonderfully! Then, they began having connection issues with some of the streaming services. Rather than address those issues they have chosen to create a new mobile app which does not work well at all. It crashes, will not connect to Netflix, will not retain your viewing history, and is very buggy. I have worked with technical support to no avail and am going to have to cancel the service because it doesn't work

    This update is absolutely amazing! The app looks way better and I like how you guys are doing it differently with the account logins for Amazon and Netflix. I assume this was to remedy some communication issues between them and Vidangel. I just have a couple things to question/suggest. One, how can I reach my watch list now? I am not seeing it anywhere. Also, I personally liked the fact that the home page had a continue watching section and I think that is gone. I love you guys and appreciate it

    I am having a lot of difficulty with the new app. I have followed all of the instructions and get to the point it is looking for my device (Roku on TV). It searches forever and never finds my Roku. Anyone else have that problem? I'm at a loss of how to rate VidAngel. I loved it until this new mobile app business, now it is virtually useless to me.

    Never have I ever thought, hey, wouldn't it be cool if I was forced to use my phone to watch TV? Before everything was simple. On Roku I could tweak filters, I can't tweak filters on the app. This is important because you frequently will list something like a bloody nose as graphic. I might be ok with a bloody nose, but I don't want to see someone bludgeoned to death. The app gives me no options and makes me jump through hoops. I just want to turn on my TV and stream. Simple.

    I absolutely love Vidangel. It's such a valuable resource for me and my family. I hate to rate this app with 1 star, but I must. The new update is horrible. It doesn't give you the option to search for categories anymore. It only gives me a few short lists to choose from, for example: "Best of Netflix", "Best of Amazon Prime", "Binge worthy TV shows" and maybe one other small list, but it doesn't give me the option to see "all in this category". I now have to search for each individual title.

    The new update is TERRIBLE. Everyone in my family signed up when they first launched, but we are all thinking of leaving now. There is no way to access your watchlist, some of the filters get cutoff halfway through, and you can't search by genre. 90% of the reason I subscribed is to watch horror movies. Now I can only find them through a crappy search option that isn't clear on if I even have access to the movie. Please for the love of all that is good and holy, CHANGE IT BACK!!!!!

    One of the worst apps I've ever downloaded 1. Does not know where you left off on a show if you have to stop watching and come back to it. 2. Does not keep track of what episodes you have watched 3. Does not give you an option to goto the next episode automatically. 4. Pauses randomly several times throughout a show until you slide the time button to a different spot on the show or close and restart the app. (see #1)

    I can see by the other reviews that I'm not the only one having a problem getting this new app to work correctly. When I try to cast to my Roku device all I get is the spinning wait icon. I have contacted support many times all all they give me is more multiple step instructions to do and try again, and again. I have followed their many many instructions to the letter without success. I believe that is because the problem is not on my end. Everything was fine until this new android app system replaced what was working just fine. I don't want to watch Amazon Prime on my little phone screen. I want to watch on my big screen. I pay for a service. Stop telling me to update and all the other many, many steps I have to go through (that still don't solve the problem) and fix your stuff Vid Angel.

    I didnt give 5 stars for the following 2 reasons: Firstly; It is a bit difficult to search through your content, it would be great to have a pop-up format for the categories. Secondly; there is no possibility to save movies/tvshows to watch them later. You always have to search them again, it would be nice to be able to save them, perhaps in a Favourites Category. Would you be so kind as to look into that? Thanks

    I have had Vidangel for years and technical problems plague their apps on Android and ROKU. I have spent so much time over the years dealing with problems and it continues again. Continuously having to enter username/password and remove app and download again also on ROKU. Now have to try to cast/stream to tv from app. Please post if you are having similar problems or problems with technical support. Some customers will ONLY post very positive reviews NO matter what. When it works it is GREAT!

    I can't get the new app to cast to any of my TVs, or recognize my roku, even after a difficult week with customer service, repeating the same steps over and over and expecting the glitchy app to suddenly work. Since the release of the new app, watching Amazon through Vidangel on the web or Roku doesn't work. I wished they'd give people the option to opt out of the app or roll back until they've fixed all the bugs. I'm surprised this new app passed Beta phase.

    I am not sure what happened after the recent "update" but even AFTER doing all the trouble-shooting as advised on the vidangel website I CAN NO LONGER access Netflix movies through Vidangel via my Chromecast nor Roku. My netflix account is active. However I keep getting a notification of Error 403. I had this at a 5 star rating, but now I have to say this "update" appears to be a misnomer. It doesnt make logical sense to pay for something that doesn't work.

    Vidangel used to work splendidly, but now it takes at least 10-15 minutes just to watch 5 minutes of video. The reason for this is that it stops randomly and refuses to play unless you skip ahead, and even then, it might stop right where you skip. I would like to keep my subscription, but I don't know if it's worth it because I can't use it as often as I used to.

    Works great. Could use a couple of upgrades such as screen rotation capability and more consistent tracking of where you left off. Filtering across the board so that you can't see movie content when selecting filters before watching. For example: it's a spoiler when I go to filter a rape seen. Update: Above requests met. 5+ stars now.

    Unfortunately I have to lower my previous rating due to the new update. As many have mentioned, there is no categories to look through. You need to know the exact name of the movie you want to see. Also, your watchlist is not available on the app. Casting is also an issue. Sending to my FireStick works around 50% of the time. Trying to use my Samsung TV crashes the app every time. I really hope Vidangel can get these issues worked out because I love there product when it is properly working.

    Please add a resume and fast forward function longer than 10 secs.Hey! When I use vidangel and have to stop my sure partway through, the app refuses to resume where I left off. This wouldn't be so bad if there was a better way to fast forward. 10 seconds at a time is frustrating.

    Video app that stutters constantly, notifications don't work when the app is open not only when watching videos but anytime the app is open even in the background. Flawed with many technical issues. And no settings of any kind downloaded only to watch the Cam Bertrand special but had to watch it on their mobile site site instead. Cam Bertrand special was amazing. If you can watch it somewhere else though

    I'm a fan of VidAngel but the update to the app is a couple steps backwards: 1. Doesn't show if you've watched an episode. 2. Search "Jack" or "Ryan" doesn't have any results. 3. Android back button does not work.

    Always login issues. Even right after I reset a password, it says incorrect and you know 100% all is correct. Oh yeah and it only has issues after hours so noone can help you and you have wasted money purchasing a movie and your family is waiting on you to start it up.

    Casting only works about half the time. Customer support solution is to restart fire tv or delete app entirely and reinstall. Not sure why they can't just make an app that doesn't suck.

    It is very hard to find a series or a movie nowadays as quarantine is going on and i want to watch everything with my parents but due to some adult scene I had to skip it but then i came across this app - Best of all , I never thought i would be able to watch some series with my parents but this app made it possible , Just one thing that they made it free for Quarantine period that's the reason i am using it but after that i will not be paying for it as it don't cover any Hindi movie or series

    Was fantastic... Update seemed to remove alot of great features and I've tried everything and cannot get the casting function to work at all. With the browser version not working for Amazon, it pretty much limits any viewing to a phone. Hope they fix it soon

    You can filter any sex scene unless its homosexuality. You can filter scenes of men looking at a women's cleavage but a man taking another man from behind is not a filter option. The point of this app is fleeting.

    When it asked me if I promise to wash my hands and practice social distancing, and I click the box, it just stays there. However, when I click no thanks it takes me to a login page. Then it says my password is wrong but there is no reset password option.

    Good concept. Terrible execution. Won't show available filters most of the time. Won't cast to Chromecast or Firestick. Purchased a rental from Amazon Prime Video; VidAngel wouldn't play it. Basically a useless "service" at this point. At least it was just a free trial, but I did waste $3 on the Amazon rental.

    This app worked great on my television and now they have changed it and I cannot access it anymore using my fire stick. Totally frustrated that they changed the format. If it's not broken don't try to fix it!!!! I might have to cancel my subscription if this doesn't get fixed.

    Won't cast on Chromecast, old app was way better. It starts like the show is loading, then nothing ever happens. Super frustrated with this new update. We love the service, but this app makes in unusable.

    My biggest gripes have to do with the "continue watching" section. The most recent show does not always show first in the list. And when I click on a show it doesn't show me the last episode I was watching.

    Did not recall my Netflix password between uses, but the controls are phenomenal. Ultimately, I didn't have a need it to justify continued monthly charges, but it was great for what we used it for.

    Idea is good but I had to cancel. There has been too many times where I've been browsing prime or Netflix, looking for something to watch. Then if I find something, surprise!! it isn't on vidangle. Then the process starts over again. One night I actually found something to watch and nearly the end of the movie, it quit streaming....and no, it wasn't my internet connection. So tell me, if I can't find anything to watch, and the streaming process is very hit and miss, what is the point?

    A wonderful and much needed concept in the world of today where they put porn in everything for no bloody reason. —I would like to use this but 9.99 a month just to filter scenes is too much. That is how much I pay for the entire Netflix catalogue of shows and movies every month. Advice to the company, make it cheaper and A LOT MORE people will use it and share by word of mouth. I would have referred it to all of my friends and family. Otherwise its not worth it.

    The app works well, and you can filter out content that you don't want. You're able to choose what you skip, which is pretty helpful when you are watching a series, as you can choose to skip over the credits, recaps, and also filter out any language that you don't want. I really enjoy using it. Also they have some original content which is pretty good to!

    I had it for 30 seconds and I uninstalled it. I know that sounds stops but the whole thing is just a bunch of loading signs! I tell you don't install this app on your phone. Get it on the TV or something else. Srsly DON'T. GET. THIS. APP.

    Meh. It's ok when it works. Low quality, grainy video. But lately it just crashes as soon as I open it.

    None of the streaming services will connect. I'm told for reach attempt that I must be a subscriber to log in. Yes, I know, and I'm using the correct credentials. Hard to use the service if it doesn't ever accept my correct information. It may be a five star service, but your front end is one star. Until that's fixed, one star is my rating.

    I can no longer get VidAngel on my Sony TV. It does not even come up as a option from google play. This is very frustrating. I really like the service until this has happened.

    Great service. Able to remove so much garbage from media. My only negative would be that the account connections aren't global. If I sign in on a computer I have to add my accounts, then on my phone I have to do it again, then on my wife's phone, then on the firestick... I wish doing it once would save it everywhere.

    LOVE having the option to not hear or see things I would rather not. It's so nice to be able to relax and enjoy a show without worrying about what offensive or inappropriate thing might happen next. We can just enjoy! I am so grateful for VidAngel!!!     I am so frustrated with this app. Been using it for years and putting up with the little issues here and there. Now I can't use it at all on my Roku or on my phone. VidAngel, you have failed me and my family.
