Velociraptor is a floating speed limit monitor and speedometer, a companion for any map or navigation app. Speed limit data from OpenStreetMap: • View on your computer: https://www.openstreetmap.org Features: • Polished Material Design • Automatically displays in any apps you choose (e.g. Google Maps) • Intelligent caching & fast refresh of speed limits • Sound alert when speed limit is exceeded • Customize style: US and International • Speed limit tolerance: % and integer amounts • Transparency, size, and tap to hide settings Links • GitHub (issues, feature requests): https://goo.gl/hL8O2d • Translate the app to your language: https://goo.gl/lXNdkU Note: Android Auto support is NOT included. Really good idea, done quite some time before Google decided to do the same thing and still does it better than Google (on the basis that the OSM database seems to be much more accurate than Google's, and the warning sound is really handy. Most of the time the auto detect of driving apps is flawless (most of the time!). Would maybe be nice to have some statistics (eg: amount of speeding done) and/or possibly a "digital water dish" to measure peak jerk too.

This is useless. Used to be really good. It won't work any more because it doesn't make any sound. Alerts don't work. Sound is trying to use the Bluetooth just because I use my vehicle phone connection. Fix this please or the app just doesn't work!! Make it use the phones speaker regardless of whether Bluetooth is turned off or not!!! Sick of the bloody police nabbing money off me just for creeping over the speed limit a tiny bit!!! Developers please fix this is really important to all user

I love the idea of this app and it has been helpful most of the time for alerting me when going over the speed limit. However, There are a lot of places along my route where the speed limit is wrong. I realised this is an issue with the place they are getting their data But my main reason for getting the app is the fact that on this highway there are several small towns with multiple speed limit changes their main source of income is giving people tickets. Defeats the purpose.

Very good and practical app. But the Auto-launch feature resets itself from time to time. Very annoying.

Great idea. Poor data base. Why can't you use the same data as Waze? Waze speed limits are more accurate, just too small to see.

As described by other users, after last update, app is resetting the "auto launch" settings so it starts with several apps and this is annoying. Please, fix it! A part from that, app is great, very helpful, simple and easy to use/config. I love it.

Many bugs with my Xiaomi Note 8 pro, Android 10 and miui 12. I already tried all usual workaround to keep the app alive.

I only use it to read my current speed, but in doing that it's pretty excellent. In the car, train, airplane, bicycle, by foot; always accurate and also refreshing fastly (apart from in tunnels, but that's not the app to blame obviously). It's convenient that you can choose the opacity, size and position of the overlay. Only reason I refrain from 5* is because I don't test the whole functionality.

I wanted speed limits displayed in Google Maps, and that's exactly what this app does. It has a setting to make it only show up when actually navigating so that it doesn't get in the way of menus when searching etc, but on my Moto Z2 Force that setting doesn't work, which is a shame. Also, the speed limits displayed are sometimes not correct when using the free database, but you can subscribe to a couple of paid services which are very cheap. I've yet to try them but I think it's safe to assume they will be better.

This app is AWESOME. Exactly what I was looking for however THE SOUND ALERT NEEDS TO BE MUCH LOUDER. It should work like the alarm clock apps where the alarm is sound even if you have everything on mute. It hasnt been updated in over a year so its hard to know the issue I have with the speed limit sometimes not showing is because of the default provider or if its the app itself. I think its because the default provider, OSM, is no longer updating its data. I would like to pay for one of the other two but I need to know which is better if someone could please let me know or if the developer could add an in-app recommendation. I'll gladly update to 5 stars if the app sees an update that improves it NOT MAKE IT WORSE which happens with a lot of app updates.
