Granted, its rules are slightly different from the real tabletop game, but the cards we all know and love are still here. Some of the clans are hard to find since they don't have gachas for all of them available. (Sorry Megacolony and Spike Brothers fans). However, it seems they do have special events where you can actually collect them. You just have to be patient and stick it out. I love this game.

The game Cardfight Vanguard is great, and from what I've seen, very underrated in the states. As some other reviews have pointed out the gacha is unforgiving. This is an understatement. There's a 1.7% chance per pull of getting a RRR card of which there often 10ish in a given banner. A good deck will take 4 copies of 2-4 different RRR cards. Brutal. Edited to remove bit about app instability, it's actually been very stable for the past couple weeks. Added a star.

This game is a giant waste of time. They dumbed down the rules of the card game for it and have made it a painful grind to accomplish anything or be able to play against others. The rules have also been simplified to the point where every match plays out basically the exact same way, which is boring. Skip this and play a different TCG app game. I do recommend the tabletop version of Cardfight though.
Excalibur Knight
This is a wonderful interpretation of Cardfight vanguard on the go. I play the paper game so this is not the exact same, but it is a very good way for new players to play. Overall, a great game. There support team also is very helpful. It is odd that they are on the other side of the world, they do a great job.

The game is good but RNG heavy because of the game mechanics; however, this also means that it is possible to make remarkable comebacks because of the games rules. Know what you want to play and save up for those gacha. Some clans only appear during certain times making it hard to make those decks. Unlike most card games, you can win with all decks though of course certain decks are better than others. Best if you can find friends to play with.

Revising my initial review. There are multiple ways to get materials for crafting cards. Dropping a star because of the god awful lag that randomly occurs, even during ranked fights! Several times I wasn't able to change my hand because it lagged out the timer. I'm still having fun, but seriously ridiculous.

It's fun to play, but it's overwhelmingly slow and closes a lot, plus I can't defeat the 25th story level on easy no matter how hard I try. It's a cute game with a cute story and now I want to watch the anime

I've decided to change my original rating down to a 2. The main reason being that this is the most greedy TCG mobile app. There isn't enough room for me to weigh the cons against the pros. It's a fun game, but they make it very obvious, very quickly that they want you to spend that extra money on packs. Low drop rates. One gacha contains 4-6 different Clans on top of that so good luck spamming for multiples of any RRR card. And crafting materials take forever to save up. Just a greedy design.

I feel like the drop rate either needs to be more consistent or implement a system to trade crafting materials for different rarities. Besides that I am enjoying the overall experience. Looking forward to more clans being available.2021 UPDATE: Still Playing after a year which is rare for me. There is something here as long as the developers continue to listen to the community.

So I used to say this was better than any other tcg... well as far as apps go it is but... They started off so strong then the events and cards just kept spamming. And don't get me wrong I love content and I know it's a gacha game but how are you ever really gonna free to play the ladder when every other week 100 cards that out mode your current cards.. sad times.
