Great game, horrible monetization. This game used to just cost $5 up front and you could simply play it. Now you need a recurring subscription fee to remove ads. The ads are really constant and completely break game immersion. You also have to watch an ad to buy certain critical units, which disrupts your train of thought... I end up just not buying those units. I would gladly pay $5 or even $15 for this game up front, but the ads and recurring payments suck.

So far it's pretty fun strategy game, but the main problem with the game like a lot of have others mentioned is that there are way too many ads, I understand you have to make money but ads after every turn is a bit overkill. Maybe if it was an ad before the start and end of each game or something that would be better and you wouldn't pester people. If you annoy your player base with ads and they start leaving, you'll have no money coming in anymore. Less ads = happy players + consistent revenue

Rating this four stars, because I loved it a lot, way back when it was a game that cost money to purchase. When I tried to get back into it, the ads were too much, and kinda ruined the experience. Something that may work to fix that issue: Rather than making the game a "buy once and done" or a "pay for our ad-blocker once" thing, maybe make a cheap subscription service for removing ads? A dollar or two a month, to get rid of ads, something like that.

Addictive turn based strategy game. Good for against the computer or with folks around the world. Daily challenges to test your mettle. If you lose an online game, you can go for a revenge match where you switch sides and try again. They also have team games. Edit: The turn clock going negative when someone could be skipped would be helpful to decide to skip. In most cases I would rather play out the game, but some abuse it, it seems. More Edit:Holding down a 0 clock will show the -time.

(Edit: The fact that the devs have a pre-written response for this specific issue is telling. If the devs think their community's suggestions would not effective, that's fine, it's just sad that nothing is being done to try and address these issues on any level. Why should I pay a subscription to a mobile app!? I'll buy one sure, but a subscription for an unfair advantage is just wrong in my opinion. Microtransactions are just a hard sell rather than, "Hey everyone, we released new content, want to buy it? No, that's fine, you can play against other people who didn't as well so that wouldn't force you to buy a lease on content just to pay on equal footing") I'll add my voice to the growing number of people that find it distasteful to have an ad after every single move you make plus buying units and having an unfair advantage or losing with a severe disadvantage. It would be fine if this app was a singular purchase for no UNSOLICITED ads.

Uniwar is the best strategy game ive played on mobile. There are premium elements but you can earn in game currency by simply playing the game and watching ads. Its very fair for todays standards.

What a shame. I've not played in a few years only to find I'll need to pay to unlock units? No thanks, I can get that anywhere. You really should find a different monetization model if you have to charge - I suspect you are turning off your core/target audience by turning what was a strength (no way to pay to win or be better) into a weakness. Most unwise.

Can't play this broken game, when I try to log it it says "Network error" no way to fix the problem. Just started working again after 12 hours. Fun game

    Idle Writer

A very fun turn based strategy with factions that play different from one another. While most mobile games would be happy to just copy paste the faction 3 times an just give them different art and call it a day this game goes that extra mile. While the microtransactions seem a bit excessive I can definitely understand why they did it they way they did. For a free game this game is wonderful and look forward to see where these devolpers will do next.

Every single review is people complaining about it being pay-to-win rather than a game you could just buy once before, and every response is the dev using a pre-canned "we respect our players, servers and development cost money, please report technical issues" response; clearly they don't respect the players as they're ignoring all criticism being levied at them repeatedly. Since you're sticking with this model, the servers better NEVER go down; you said yourself this is a "life long project".
