The app works alright, some of the time, but the majority of the time it just does not work. There seems to be an 80% chance the app doesn't find the device. If it finds the device, then there is a 50% you cannot switch between radio or local media without the app having some kind of difficulty. After the phone goes into standby mode, fully expect to restart the app numerous times before it will respond enough to change the volume or music track.

undok Works fine using my Samsung A51 5G phone (Android 11) and Roberts Stream 94i radio. The one issue I have is you don't seem to be able to search podcasts, only browse them. When you have stations with a lot of podcasts, e.g. BBC Radio 4, etc., it can be difficult to find the one you want.

undok north korea Got my first compatible internet radio some time ago. Setup was confusing, didn't understand what "setup mode" is. I initially had some complaints about stability (app losing connection), but that seems to have been improved quite a lot somehow. It's generally a pleasantly looking and easy to use app. One wish: Would be nice if you could add radio/podcasts links directly via app instead of their rather complex web portal.

undok app Update - thought it was getting less terrible, but latest update has brought it back to it's default unworkable state. awful app - shame Roberts use this for their great speakers 😣 Latest update has now made this app and speakers completely unworkable. Avoid using this app if possible! Not sure how much reputational damage Robert's are willing to suffer before they see sense and ditch this embarrassment.

games - lack of usefull preset sorting functions, it's horrible to do - copy and store in other preset's to protect overwriting one of them… really? - searching doesn't work as you expect, a query with two words will give you hit's with the second word first, if a radio station exists with the phrase in the beginning

ondokosh App feels smooth and responsive. All functions of the radio can be operated through the app. The radio responds very quickly to the app, and the app responds quickly if something is changed directly on the radio too. The only improvement I can think of is that it would be useful for RDS station names to be shown alongside frequencies in the FM Radio presets list.

undo karma Appaling app. No option to add device to network appears on my screen. Makes my newly bought Ruark MRX speaker unusable. I thought Ruark were a premium company, this app severely lets them down and must be doing a lot of damage. Looks like I may have to return the speaker as it is currently unusable doe to this awful app.

undo keyboard shortcut Usability could be improved at the back end (nuvola) otherwise a good comprehensive control system. One feature I'd request would be a scheduler to switch between sources at pre-determined times.

unidokkan Latest update killed it, and it's the end of the road for this app for me .... it no longer discovers my Roberts radio. I have tried clearing data, reinstalling app, even specifying the ip address the radio is at. Worked perfectly fine until the last update. Now it's just a dead, unusable app. Uninstalling now....

Sadly after months of tireless investigation by the Undok team, including replicating my setup, it appears that the connectivity issue is an issue with my Ruark R2 Mk3. Hats off to Undok for doggedly investigating this issue with their responsive and helpful techs.

Removed by bad review - issue I was having was my router and not Undok. Back to liking the app, particularly seeing what is now playing. Also appreciate developers quick response and offer to help sort issue.

Revised review. Works to some extend, but had problems reconnecting after rename of device. Had to power-cycle the player. Menus sucks. F.ex. it's not possible to get back from a song in the music-player to the album being played, instead you get to select albums again. Sometimes you even get back to the device select and have to start over again. This APP needs a refurbish.

Lost the rs1 connection weeks ago and cannot reconnect however long I try. I have other Roberts internet radios all connected, brilliantly, but cannot connect the rs1. Waste of money. Even if I do connect in future the amount of time wasted trying to connect (weeks) isn't worth it. The rs1 isn't made for Undok.

A very good service, but the radio side of the app leaves users lost. Try internet radio } browse } search } "whatever" and there's no obvious way to get back to the original browse function without changing to another source e.g. usb, then back to radio. The app needs to support radio users wanting to easily search and browse what's available. Otherwise it's very good.
Roger Dixon
2020-12-20T08:16:50.351Z
Radio browsing very poor. Like several other reviewers I find that there is no way to simply move back through the browse menus. Even if you close the app and try again it seems locked into the final menu options in browse. Contacting UDOK via email just gets a generic FAQ's reply which gives no relevant advice. To my mind this makes the everyday use of this app almost pointless.

Negative: - Menu is not logic and fully incomprehensible. - Navigation is almost impossible. - Favourite stations can't be organised alphabetically. I tried this app with the HAMA DIT2100MSBT hifi-tuner which also has a complete incomprehensible menu structure. I use the supplied remote with this HAMA hifi-tuner. This app is useless! "Undok team, please use the AirMusic Control as an example how to make a good and fully comprehensible audio app."

I'm using Undok to control a Ruark MRx smart speaker playing music from an attached USB stick, a network attached hard drive and music stored locally on a Samsung S4 tablet. The basic functionality of the App is fine BUT it's very disappointing that the App will not display album artwork from any of my music sources. The artwork is there and is displayed in a range of different players but not Undok.

As others have said, an awkward, unintuitive app. It worked after a fashion on a Roberts R1 for a while and then stopped pairing recently. Lazy developers don't seem to want to assist those frustrated by this app but may I suggest the usual cure in that you uninstall it and reinstall. Worked for me and I suspect it was the recent "upgrade" that knackered it. Given the premium Roberts charge for their stuff surprising they don't spend more time on making sure the app used works seamlessly. Now 1!

Being bedridden after an accident, I wanted something to control my beloved Sangean WFR 28. I am not disappointed. The controls may be a bit basic ( no presets), for example, but the essentials are here: power on, search etc. Unfortunately, it seems that the latest update has screwed things a bit. Undok will not start anymore on my phone... Updated Undok. Works perfectly. Great....

On the whole the app is quite good. Using this app with a Hama "DIT2100MSBT" Digital HiFi Tuner it works pretty well for FM, DAB, Internet Radio, and local streaming. It would be nice if the Spotify tool worked the same way as the Amazon Music and not having to open Spotify on my phone. The back button causes the app to jump back too far. A web browser way of displaying "Now Playing" would be good for when I'm working on a desktop.

An awful app. Once you search for a station the only way of searching for another is to change the source from Internet radio to something else and back again, then go back to browse. The back arrow at the top doesn't do anything. Frontier Silicon are supposed to be the worlds largest manufacturer of DAB and Internet radio modules. If they can't get this simple app right there's something fundamentally wrong with the company and radio manufacturers should look for an alternative supplier.

Very hit and miss. Some weeks finds my device with no problem, majority of the time fails, even via the IP. Advice of changing the radio's current function to help connection rather undermines the point of the app as I may as well just control it from the device now am there.

I have had terrible trouble with this app. It makes up its own mind when it will recognise the two speakers I have installed. Sometimes it sees one, sometimes it sees two, but whether it sees one or two it only lets me use one. I have uninstalled the software and reinstalled and since reinstalling I can only see one speaker. I am looking for an alternative app to control the speakers.

I'm beginning to get VERY frustrated. I have the Hama IR350M and two ir80mbt speakers. The radio functions perfect on its own, but as soon as I create a multiroom setup with the two speakers all hell breaks lose. Connections become unstable and every day at least once I need to reconfigure the multiroom configuration because UNDOK thinks one of the speakers is main instead of the IR350M. I bought a new router with 6 antennas and 5Ghz and repositioned as well. Used a wifi analyser to make sure wifi is perfect... still unstable radio of the IR350M and speaker dropouts on the ir80mbt speakers. As soon as delete group from UNDOK, at least the radio on the IR350 is working flawless.

The radio is quite good but the media player is surprisingly basic. Simple features like que, repeat 🔂 all/one, and shuffle 🔀 are missing. It would be nice if these can be added to it. Even if it means we have to pay for the app, because at the moment it is casting a shadow on the quality of the Robert Speakers. The Bluetooth is also a bit iffy, I'm not sure if it's the app or the speaker. It takes 2 attempts to get a steady connection sometimes and you can't move too far from the speaker.

Well when I 1st started using this I struggled to be honest. It seemed quite convoluted and difficult to navigate. As with everything I got used to it in time. Now I find that the Internet Radio function won't work. I can find the stations I want and that I've favourited, but they won't play. It appears as though it thinks I'm playing a track that is 32 mins long. So now I have to use the Bluetooth function and stream from my phone. Quite disappointed.

2018-09-23T22:14:53.750Z
Terrible. It's as if it was designed/written by people who haven't experienced any of the thousands of other apps that do similar things. I use it to play music from my NAS drive through my Roberts radio. I can live with it losing sight of my music server occasionally, that's easy enough to resolve, but the UX is awful. I only use it as it's marginally easier than doing it through the radio itself. Maybe that's where the real issue is, and this app is limited by that, but that should be its opportunity to improve on that functionality - like by remembering a few things, navigating straight back there, queuing up music etc.
Graham Haslehurst

I've used this app on and off for 3 years. It continues to be non intuitive. The left button takes you back to the main menu which is frustrating as it feels like this should just take you back one menu level. The demand to know location is weird and privacy invading, surely this should be based on which network you are connected to. The recent updates have made internet radio stations impossible to navigate. It does not live up to its potential. And it forgets your connections.

2019-03-09T12:11:38.615Z
Absolutely rubbish. I have had to download this app as the interface for my Roberts internet speakers (the speakers are fantastic by the way). As a user interface, the Undok app is not an easy service to use. it's not intuitive, and requires quite a lot of input to be able to navigate around the functions. it rashes often, and now after a week of rubbish operation it has lost all ability to connect to any of my speakers. An alternative is needed.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I have 3 Roberts S1/2 speakers. They were great for a couple of months, until all the speakers started periodically losing connection. I would reconnect but after a while the app stopped allowing you to continue the set up half way through the process. Then it completely failed to recognise any of the speakers. I contacted Roberts, who said they were waiting for the developers to update the app. It's now been months and no update. £200 worth of speakers down the drain.

Like most WiFi software it's fine when it's working, although I don't think the menus are particularly well designed, but the problems really arise when you do something different. If I change to a Bluetooth connection, when I then want to go back to a wireless undok is incapable of finding itself on the network again. Rebooting the phone app or my Roberts R1 speaker has no impact. The only solution is ye olde high techy unplug everything, including the router, let them all contemplate their sad little existence for 5min then restart everything, wait until we are all comfy again, then start the tedious reinstallation process. Once you have it working it's fine but don't you dare change anything , ever!!!

Smart Radio by name only. At least this application used to work, now it can't find my Roberts radio, that the undok app has been connected fine for a year now. It asks you to choose an access point, you see the network you're connected to, the same as the radio is connected to, and you can't go any further (just round in a loop). How difficult can it really be, its an application that wastes your time.
Matthew Harrison
2020-10-03T19:39:41.348Z
Really quite poor. The navigation doesn't work: if you're trying to select an album with another album playing it won't let you back. Also finding that other phone activity (e.g. a notification from another app) seems to force the speaker onto standby. It doesn't happen if you're not using the app with it. Finally (although there's more) you can't choose which Bluetooth device you want to connect to.

Unbelievable disappointing, Installed it to use with Lidl's Silvercrest Multi-Room Streaming Speaker 35W with subwoofer to use in the kitchen. The installation is mostly straightforward, sometimes a trial as you have to do it and do it and do it again ( near your router) Once put into position the fun starts. The speaker is not found, installation was completely pointless, as if it never happened If you're lucky it will work for a bit, until it has its next tantrum. This is bad for my nerves!

Hard to connect to speaker, and unreliable when it does connect. Unintuitive browsing and search functions make it difficult to find and keep internet radio stations. Really not much to commend it I'm afraid. Downloaded for use with a Roberts R1 speaker. Appears to be the only way to use the speaker but it takes so long to connect each time, if it works at all, that I don't get any use out of the internet radio function. My experience is that the app is not fit for purpose.

This app is more buggy than anything I have ever come across, it drives me mad that I need this to operate my Roberts speakers!! Hi undok team, i have to use the app for my s2 speakers (pair), every time i use them i will experience either or all, no connection, loss of connection, lag on every function, radio station list not populating or disappearing, the loss of 1 speaker, etc every function will malfunction at some point & it mostly takes 10 min to turn on & get working. a

Well, looks like I am in good company here. Suddenly, my radio disappeared… and yes, the software is up to date. And yes, I even did a factory reset. And yes, I uninstalled and re-installed the app. Such a shame, as when the app worked it was great. Please, it looks like you need to do a patch. Relief! For some reason has now started working again. No idea why, but I'm not complaining.

The last update seems to finally make things reliable! Fingers crossed for next days to be as reliable as today. I will definitely go for 4 stars if it finally works reliably. The app itself is all right and it is getting better. However the connection with my iStream 3 has been absolutely unreliable and nerve wracking. I don't understand why there is a such problem for so long. Also could we get an option to customize format of the #ListeningTo text?

Very disappointed. Bought the Roberts R100 and R1. Set them up using the Undok app. No problems doing that one evening. The next morning the app couldnt connect to the Roberts R100. Disconnected/Re connected the R100 to wifi (no change), uninstalled/reinstalled the app (no change). Made a group (with R1 as main unit) and the R100 eventually connected and could be used. Switched R100 off when we went out and when we returned the R100 has disappeared from the app again. App not fit for purpose.

I have 2 internet radios. Both radios are on the same WiFi. One works fine but the other keeps dropping the Undok connection. Radio still works but can't control it with the app. I've tried rebooting the radio, the phone and the router. It only happened occasionally before the recent update but now really annoying. I see from other reviews that I am not alone.

Great when it works. But sometimes, for no obvious reason that I can detect, the app can't find my Roberts Stream 93i. I keep refreshing, rebooting, etc. but no joy. Then after a while, or a day, it magically works again. Shame, as the app is really useful when it decides to play nice.

It's a great app but could you please look at the following to make the presets less likely to be overwritten. - on small phone screens there isn't much space between the close button and the (+) button for preset 1 making it easy to overwrite preset 1 pn closing the window. - perhaps modifying the preset (+) operation to a "press and hold" action making the likelihood of accidentally overwriting a preset less likely On DAB and FM it would be nice to see the signal strength indicator in detail

My experience with this app is appalling. I have a pair of Robert's S1 speakers. I have to unplug them frequently for the app to recognise the configuration. Female voice directs me to do this nearly every time I come to use them. I have a Sonos speaker and the app for that is totally reliable, and can be accessed on my phone or laptop, totally consistently. Considering the previous reputation of Robert's, I feel extremely disappointed with the performance of this product. 9 August 2020 - update... The experience gets worse. My lounge speaker has taken to switching itself on in the middle of the night at FULL VOLUME, and my other speaker has disconnected and wont reconnect at all, making it completely useless. Roberts Radio used to have such a good reputation, but I suspect that UNDOK was a cheap piece of software that someone thought was a good investment to get them competing with SONOS... if you pay bananas you'll get chimps every time! OR should I say CHUMPS!

The latest version has broken the ability to add Roberts R1 radios and therefore prevents the ability to use internet radio or control the radio from the app. Pretty shocking performance and makes me worried for the long term support of my radio. Anyway, I fixed the problem by side loading an older version of the app. DO NOT UPDATE IF YOUR RADIO IS WORKING.

Has some issues. Using this app with an Ocean Digital DBA-03R radio. Once I connect to the radio using UNDOK selecting Bluetooth causes the radio to reboot and start in the mode being used previously, even when using the remote. Only way to solve this is to reset the radio and stick to using the remote. Even odder you have to reset from within UNDOK as the inbuilt menu option also stops working. Finally there is no feedback option within the app that I can find?

Used to work perfectly. Now broken. Grouping two S2 speakers unworkable. They go into an unreliable state where one speaker goes back to being independent but the other thinks it's still grouped. Only solution is to factory reset the speakers. Radios keep disappearing (not a WiFi issue as the signal is really strong) When playing the grouped S2 speakers one or both regularly cut out. May come back after a while but sometimes never come back. When it works it's great but totally flaky app

Edit: Old review is below. Came back to this after a year, and wow - its far better! Good work! Internet radio functionality still needs to be much better, though. Old Review: When connecting to an R1 or R100, should you enter the wrong wifi passphrase, or should the WPS fail (which, if you know WPS, is frequent) the radio you attempted to add will be left in a bad state, where it will neither be accessible from the app nor findable as a new system. The only way to get around this is to hard reset the radio and start again, which is tricky with the R1 which doesn't have a display. To miss such a basic bug during QA is really inexcusable, hence the rating. Otherwise 3*

Was working well for last couple of years but suddenly seems to have stopped working with Roberts Radio. Cannot get Internet radio at all. Other functions still seem to work when I can connect.

Oh dear. When I installed this app I was so pleased, it worked well & even offered 2 more presets than my Revo Superconnect. However the last month or 3 it's been awful. The only way I've found to connect is to un-plug the Revo & re-start it. Sometimes I do wish app developers would just leave things alone. It did work once.

Had problems streaming/connecting to a setup of 5 (Silvercrest) UNDOK devices. I found a setting on my wifi router: called "Enhanced Multicast Forwarding" which is disabled by default. Once I enabled this option, the system reliability improved , but in general is still pretty flakey. General->NetworkSettings->Wireless->'Enhanced Multicast Forwarding' = enable.

Useless app, won't connect to Wi-Fi and renders the speaker useless. Zero response from customer support. Edit 24/7: Developers do now respond, but "fixed" app still won't connect to my Roberts speakers, essentially making them expensive Bluetooth devices. Shambles from the developers and disappointing that a company like Roberts seems to accept poor support of their devices.

This app is not a ruark friend. Setting up a ruark mrx speaker has never been so.difficult. undok refused to acknowledge the access point for the speaker. I ended up searching for the RuarkLink app through apk sites to set up the mrx which then completed the steps in a few minutes. So all I can say is the amount of time you will spend trying to get this app to work you may as well spend time searching the internet for an apk site that will actually give you the app you are after.

Flakey Sometimes connects with no problem to a Roberts stream 94 radio. On other occasions claims no device exists. Yes I am on the same network. If connected it is fine and useful, but has the very annoying feature that the top back arrow takes you right back to the start rather than back a level. Use the Android back key.

PROS: - works perfectly with my HAMA internet radio player - good design and user experience in general - works with NUVOLA smart radio - I can create my own playlist of streams on the web if I'm not satisfied with the built-in search-and-add presets list functionality CONS: - doesn't show the bitrate and logo of the currently playing stream - incredible miss here - Local Music source reads the music tags, but fails to access the actual files and play them

Among half-a-dozen similar apps I use this one is far the most work. It requires concentration to navigate properly on a phone—maybe it's better on a tablet but who carries a tablet in their pocket? Using it with a Roberts RS1, Spotify works pretty well. Streaming audio from my own media server is not so good. I haven't got to the bottom of that problem yet but it seems like UNDOK can't cope with the phone doing other tasks like receiving SMS or Telegram/Whatsapp messages. When a message comes in it abruptly restarts the currently playing track. Worst of all is streaming BBC radio (Radios 4 and 6). I don't think UNDOK or the RS1 is the fundamental problem; I think the CDN chosen by UNDOK to deliver BBC content is the real problem. The radio plays for a few seconds then you see "Network Timeout" flash on the UNDOK display every few seconds. Other radio stations from around the world are fine. If UNDOK gave me the means to select different CDNs I might be able to find one that works.

Almost excellent app in use with my Hama MSBT 2100. It's easy and clear to work with and the fact that you have the option to use it with different sources for accessing music makes this app great. The only suggestion or question I have is why there is no song information when listening to the internet radio.

Having had my Roberts iStream3 for a week this app is the weakest part radio. The app worked on initial set up but soon dropped the radio making this facility useless. With so many recent negative reviews why doesn't Roberts, or the UNDOK developer read the reviews and sort it out. It has a few pages dedicated to it in the radio manual so it's not exactly a random app.

Worked fine for first few days for operating Internet radio mode of Roberts R1 units. However since 12/06/20, Undok dropped my stored audio system setup and now can't maintain or complete the connection to the units. At setup Undok will allow connection to the units during the scanning process, selection of language and wifi security details but then errors at the final stage. I tried factory reset of Roberts units, reinstalling Undok app, but same issue - fails on final setup. As of 17/06/20 - I did a factory reset on my router extender and now Undok works again.

Using this app to control my Roberts 94i radio. Sometimes it can be hit or miss with this app, scroll too fast through the radio stations or click and change stations too often in a short space of timea can make it prone to crashing. (List of radio stations can disappear). Other than that it does make it quicker to select stations than using remote from the radio.

Not sure why anyone would create an app that is so useless. Doesn't find my Roberts iStream, can't see a perfectly working wifi, and no options to get it working except set up access point which does nothing. Sadly Google doesn't have fractions of a star as this app doesn't deserve 1 star. The old Roberts app worked well....shame really.

The set up is simply appalling, you'll end up going through the process dozens of times feeling like you're going mad, you aren't, persevere, it's worth it. Used for Roberts R1 speaker - couldn't get anywhere until, in desperation, I uninstalled the app and downloaded it again. Second time there were a few more stages, i.e. accept licence, and then worked fine. Used for a few days since with no real issues. Not as slick as some but works fine.

Hama DIT2010 is OK, but could do with some time shifting abilities. i.e. a means of recording stations from a timer switching the tuner on automatically and storing recordings to harddisk or USB. In order listen to programs missed kind of like a video recorder, from back in the day.

It does what it's supposed to do. I use it for my Roberts S1 speaker and I also sometimes use it with my Roberts stream 93i. One thing I don't like about it is, if I use in with my stream 93i, the app will automatically changes the network settings in my radio to "keep network connected". I don't like that. I then have to go into settings to turn it of again. I don't want the radio connected to the network when it's in standby.

I do wish the developers listened to critical reviews, which are by no means trolling, but highlight actual problens with the app. Which crashes all the time and interferes with smartphone's Spotify app in a way that it makes both the app and the music player a pain to use.
