Are you having trouble falling asleep? Are your kids hyperactive when playing with the tablet before bed time? Are you using your smart phone or tablet in the late evening? Are you sensitive to light during migraine? Twilight may be a solution for you! Recent research suggests that exposure to blue light before sleep may distort your natural (circadian) rhythm and cause inability to fall asleep. The cause is the photoreceptor in your eyes, called Melanopsin. This receptor is sensitive to a narrow band of blue light in the 460-480nm range which may suppress Melatonin production - a hormone responsible for your healthy sleep-wake cycles. In experimental scientific studies it has been shown an average person reading on a tablet or smart phone for a couple of hours before bed time may find their sleep delayed by about an hour. See references below.. The Twilight app makes your device screen adapt to the time of the day. It filters the flux of blue light emitted by your phone or tablet after sunset and protects your eyes with a soft and pleasant red filter. The filter intensity is smoothly adjusted to the sun cycle based on your local sunset and sunrise times. You can also use Twilight on your Wear OS device. Documentation http://twilight.urbandroid.org/doc/ Get more from Twilight 1) Bed reading: Twilight is more pleasant on the eyes for night reading. Especially as it is able to lower the screen backlight far below the ability of the backligt controls on your screen 2) AMOLED screens: We have tested Twilight on an AMOLED screen for 5 years without any sign of depletion or over-burning. If properly configured Twilight causes less light emission (by enabling dimming) with more equal light distribution (dark areas of the screen such as the status bar get tinted). This may in fact increase your AMOLED screen life time. Love it! You can switch between an automatic schedule or one that correlates with actual sunrise and sunset. If you allow notifications in the status bar then you can easily go in and temporarily remove the filter. I forget that is even on sometimes. Don't forget to turn it off when you take screenshots or you're not going to be able to see anything in the regular daylight from it 😅

This app is easy to use. Like that you can manually customize the the Colors on your screen so you do not get that harmful blue light anymore. Also like the fact there's no annoying voice ads to sit through just to adjust your phone. I have deleted so many other apps because of that this one I've had for a couple years & never gave me problems.. I definitely recommend! 😀

Great app to reduce blue light from your phone. I've used it for about a year, and I'm very satisfied with it. It reduces the blue light by adding a orange filter to everything, which makes it easier to go to sleep after using your phone. And it can lower the screen light level even more than possible in your settings.

I like twilight, but when its running it messes with other apps and basic phone functionality for example in order to leave this review I had to disable twilight because it breaks the play store. Also it asks for a lot of accessibility permissions. I'm no expert and haven't taken a deep look at how this handled but I don't want twilight as the middleman between me and every interaction I have with my phone

Its great a app but I hate it when I'm switching between apps, opening apps or just tapping the recents app button because it suddenly pauses the filter in seconds and then resume again it hurts my eyes and the brightness of my screen is 30% to 40% and that's painful specially at night and your just looking at your screen and then switch to other app and then suddenly surprises you with a bright screen (EDIT) i found out that it happens when in landscape mode i hope will be fixed soon

This app is amazing! I've been using it for a year or two now, and as I do some reading before going to sleep, I've been affected by the sharp light of my screen. But after I installed this app and adjusted the settings to my liking, I fall asleep a lot quicker, and it doesn't make my eyes water in the dark. Will keep this app for as long as possible. I'd be willing to pay for this app.

A fantastic app that I never want to be without. My only gripe is that I cannot turn on the Accessibility settings to filter notifications without also filtering my Always On Display on my Galaxy S20. This makes the AOD drain my battery, so it's a no-go. Recently the Accessibility setting became necessary to tap Play Store buttons while using Twilight, so now I have to pause Twilight to install apps on my phone. It would be great to be able to selectively turn off filtering of the lock screen.

Throw away those blue light filter glasses or if you are looking to buy one, don't. This app is all u need. Been using this for years on dozens of devices from Samsung Galaxy S and A series phones, to Galaxy Tab S2 and S7 and even to an LG TV. It's flexibility and features are great. I've used others a few years ago but came back to this one. It's the best IMHO

My vision has been damaged by having no choice, but to use screen devices. I have noticed improved vision when reading with Twilight. There is greater clarity (!) & less fatigue. Very special thanks to the developers who have made this assessible to us.

Doesn't work for front screen z flip 3. Every time the app changes the front screen on my z flip 3 I have to go into the settings and reapply my old wallpaper to remove the red overlay. I've noticed that I've had problems with my wallpaper doing that too and Ive used this app for years. Yes this is a new phone and I have played with the settings. It looks like it needs to be updated to include all newer phones and front screens. Pull down notifications only have overlay 35% of the time.
