Reviews From google play store

While I love trip advisor, having the app is absolutely frustrating. If you click on links on google or website that normally would take to you the specific web page on trip advisor, it takes you to the app instead, which is fine, but it just forces you to the home page of the app, and not to the information you were trying to get to. I have no choice but to remove the app because I cannot get around the issue otherwise.

I love being able to read reviews, and have found many amazing places because of TripAdvisor. However, I find the website and so hard to navigate, and am frustrated every time I use it. When I want to look up a city/town bI can't just type in the name and search. It requires me type in something besides just the area. I then have to click through several pages to get to the main page. If you could fix this, it would be perfect!

The informations, we read are very very useful. Writen by people who experienced the same attraction before. But to write a review when there is no account, is a nightmare. It asks to submit with facebook, some people fell worried to write their facebook account details. Or submit with Google account, most of the iphone usrers dont have. Or submit with E-mail account, then it asks to change E-mail password.... Why???. Why very complicated

I love looking at reviews for hotels and restaraunts. Currently I am trying to add pictures to a review and am finding it about impossible. I have done reviews before and successfully added pictures. After not being able to get them added from the app on my phone I tried from my laptop and ran into the same issue...very frustrating! It downloads each picture separately and wants a description of each instead of just adding them to the review.

No longer useful to find the best places. It used to be the go-to app to find places by ranking. Nowadays it's just to find the experiences TripAdvisor themselves will get paid the most commission for. In the app it's just impossible to find a ranking anymore. Really frustrating as I want to take my friends to THE best place/company.

TripAdvisor is going the wrong direction. It used to be my go-to when traveling to a new place, but now I can't even see a full list of restaurants or things to do. All Google search results say "everything you need to know" but end up at a poorly curated landing page with no real information. Forum results have no dates and are often 5 or 10 years old and now irrelevant. Everything is sorted by sponsored content. Stop trying to advertise or think for me; go back to simple lists and reviews!

Really poor that when you click an internet link from somewhere else, you get taken to the last page you viewed on the app. I don't want this and will uninstall the app if it's not rectified. Why is it doing this? If I click a forum page from a google search I can't then find it. Please sort this out.

When clicking on links from a Google search you are forced into the app on the home screen. This issue makes the app utterly useless. What's shocking is it will take one dev one day to fix this issue. Sort it out!! This has been an issue for ages. The only work around I can find is to open the desktop view of the Google search and open TripAdvisor website in chrome.

Other's travel input is often helpful. Some of the ads can be annoying/hard to discern it's an ad. Filters should be better & there should be a link to various lists. For instance, it will say hotel or restaurant is #4 in city X, but you can't click on that to see rest of list.

Not sure what's happening with app but it always defaults to home page now. So if I search Google for a hotel, town etc. and it displays content from TripAdvisor, it opens the app but goes to the homepage every time and not the page I was searching for in Google. Otherwise always been a great site and app.

Always show the wrong things. I can open "city_name where to go with kids" in google and see article from trip advisor "10 places for kids in...". If I click it, I will be redirected to the application and do not see the article at all. I see only recommendations which are irrelevant.

TripAdvisor I believe is now so complicated, I think a going back to basics would be a better idea than to keep expanding. Sometimes I find it almost unusable I can't seem to bring up the results I'm looking for.. Original idea of the app was brilliant and satisfying, however these days it has become frustrating.

Not a pleasant one. Doesn't help that I'm in the mountains where signal is not that great. But when my wife sends me a link to look at and you force me to download your app or log in with google, than I choose google and you still force me to use your app...nope. this app sucks. I would give it less that -5 stars. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

TRY THIS FIX FOR BROWSER REDIRECT TO APP. Go to the Settings for this app and click on the "Set as Default" button. You will see a "Go to supported URLs" option. This is apparently what causes browser URLs related to TripAdvisor to open this app. Select an option OTHER THAN "In this app" to stop the redirects. Would also suggest clicking "Clear defaults" in case that function is related to the browser redirects. Pretty slimy of the developers to include this "default" setting/function in the app

I love the info that the app gives me. What I don't love is when I Google a place and select the trip advisor response. The app opens up and says 'start where you left off'. If I had wanted to do that I would have just opened the app. What I want to do is look at the link that you offered to the new place that I just Googled.

Pretty bad. It never keeps the page your on after opening another app or even selecting a webpage for a restaurant directly from the TA app. When searching in chrome and asked if you want to use the app to access TA it doesn't link up directly with the page you're on, instead it just opens the TA app homepage, then you have to conduct the search right from the beginning.

Nowadays when you search for a forum message on google, it directs you to the app but doesn't show you the page you want. Just some random stuff from TA. Very annoying! Can't read anything on my phone after the Google search! Terrible app! Fix it!

it always help me when i am planning for a tour .The ratings and reviews on its are very genuine kept by poeples which helps to choose places .the best part of it is they have created a forum where we can ask our questions and peoples gives a very helpful replies and guide me for tour planning. Thanks making this app.

They have concise and best information available for almost all places. Comments and photos shared by users is very helpful. TripAdvisor has their own ranking/certification of places. I generally avoid booking tours - instead relying on self guided trips, however the few tours I have done through TripAdvisor have been pretty good. So I would recommend that as well

Changes have been made that frankly make the app less helpful when search eg restaurants esp ones in cities. Only about 12 or so load now along with a map of the area that you need to keep moving to get more loaded. Very annoying so time-consuming I have stopped using the app for restaurant, coffee shop searches!!

The details on the vast amount of lovations is definitely on point. I like the attention to detail that was used in the photography. I would love to be able to be able to take my family to get some well needed relaxation while being to write about these places.

Great app. I often write reviews and also find it helpful when looking for a place to go as I can check other people's experiences. App itself works well, I've never had any problems using it. Definitely recommend.

I find the editor very frustrating when I write a longer review, so much so I almost gave up on my last post! The problem is it doesn't scroll and I had to keep going out of my review and back in again to get to the top of the text.

I had to uninstall it because it forced links to open in the app - but wouldn't actually open the link, it just defaulted to the landing page. So it's impossible to actually read TripAdvisor articles if you've got the app installed. Which is pretty stupid.

I love using trip advisor to plan my trips, site visits and prospective hotel bookings. It assists me to get a feel for the place before I get there and to see what's got and happening and what's dodge :) Thank you Trip advisor for bringing our world closer

So useful as an aid when deciding on a location or venue. Equally useful to leave feedback when a venue or service disappoints. App is easy to use and has always been reliable....when at home or overseas.

It was easy to post reviews once I figured out where the correct button was. I like using it when I'm on a road trip and not sure where I'm going to stop. So far the recommendations for hotels and places to eat have been on point.

I've used the App for more than three years. Hearing what others think about restaurants and places to go is the best way to choose from many options. Great platform to learn from others. Excellent!

It used to be a simple to use app. Then the developers added more and more until it became complicated and unwieldy. Reviewers are hassled to leave reviews via relentless emails. There is practically no support for restaurateurs and hoteliers. There is constant pressure to pay money to 'upgrade' your business which seems contrary to the idea of an unbiased ratings system. And the changes in the algorithm seem arbitrary and inexplicable.

It's good, except that when I click a link to TripAdvisor in google, it automatically opens the app. That would be fine, however it opens the home page, not the one I was looking for.

I've been on TripAdvisor for 4 years as a contributor. overall the app is easy to use shows pictures, post various reviews. However in Dec. 2018, TripAdvisor made changes to their platform, which are greatly UNFAIR to their contributors . They used to post your number for your views, your pictures, along with your " readership numbers worldwide " . That feature has been taken away. Emails to their CEO have gone UNANSWERED . I"m very disappointed , they don't seem to care.

Really poor update. Over complicated. I'm a 40 year old who grew up on the Internet but does not live on my phone. I and the likes of my parents would have no clue of how to navigate this app. 'less is more'. Stop trying to reinvent the wheel

This is the app you need for planning the perfect holiday. Gives honest reviews from real people. Covers hotels, restaurants, tours, the list goes on. Highly recommend.

Previous versions were better as it searched hotels directly from browsers. Now we have to feed all the details manually to search for reviews. 5 Stars for previous versions.

I really like the Trip Advisor app. It's great for getting other people's opinions about places & to be able to look back on places one's been. The forums are very helpful too.

TripAdvisor's feature of ranking landmarks, hotels etc., is super useful. Most sites only have rating..ex 3.8/5..but here it says which one is the number 1 restaurant, hotel etc. Overall this is more objective.

I've used TripAdvisor on many trips. I've found and booked several great tours through the site, found awesome restaurants. I've found the best parts of cities to stay in. TripAdvisor is an essential part of planning my trip and also during my trip.

Every time it redirects me to TripAdvisor to request for a review it ALL ways ask for my email and password and it never auto loads my details so it fails every time Yet when i go to TripAdvisor to look for hotel It auto loads my details And i have no idea what it put in as it is not on my auto load password and email

The new app has a couple of flaws. You can no longer see saved drafts. Also, the layout is like an amalgamation of Instagram and Facebook. There is plenty of room for improvement.

I've always used & liked TripAdvisor, but recently had the same problem as others below. When clicking on a link in a Google search I'm taken to the Home Page of the app. Please fix this.

When we visit a new town we always check TripAdvisor for where to stay, where to eat and what to do. We have been using TripAdvisor for at least 10 years. We have never been disappointed in the "advice" we've gotten.

Docked a star for usability, I was unable to edit multiple fields in sequence without exiting out and saving my edits each time, a minor inconvenience. Otherwise love the app.

Easy to use app, works well and accurate most of the time. I use this app almost every time we travel to find the best locations for Hotels and Restaurants

Won't let me log in with my email, just keeps refreshing the login screen - the support email below sends a bounce back saying "your email has not been read!" - that's good eh

Absolutely brilliant for getting to know places that you are visiting, very easy to use and navigate. Quick responses when you ask a question 👌👌👌

The app is great. Easy to use and a wealth of information here. I always search TripAdvisor for ratings and comments before I go to a restaurant.

The app prevents me to participate in forums. I reported this issue on several occasions, but the issue was addressed only once and the problem was not resolved.

Insightful, I like the recommendations and the distance from where I am to my point of interest. Easy to use...Love the app!

Fantastic App that allows you to plan your trip with the details and services for trips all over the world. I have been using the App for years.

Very useful tool to find activities, hotels, restaurants while on vacation. From cheap eats to best things to do.

I use TripAdvisor to help with planning trips and locally as well. The ratings and reviews I find very useful. I have not been steered wrong yet.

The Android app does not take you to any links clicked from a Google search result. You always land on the home screen and need to search again.

I use Trip Advisor when planning ANY trip. Always provides great information and reviews. Helps us stay on track and make wise choices when we have limited time in any one location.

This app was recommended by my friend. I am very happy with Tripadvisor. There are many travel companies working on same platform but I can easily trust on TripAdvisor. Thanks

Absolute garbage on Android. Never finds my location regardless of location services and WiFi being on. Constant loading screens. Usless. Stick to laptop where it actually works

Great Travel App Trip Advisor is my go to site for hotel, restaurant and flight info., I have used it for years and always got good information.

I use this app all the time. I use it on trips and I use it when I'm home just to try to find a new place to eat or something interesting to do. Without a doubt my most used app.

I enjoy using trip advisor to find out more about upcoming destinations. Everything is all in one place. Makes it so easy

The app would be better if the search results included added fees and taxes. These additional charges made the results very different on closer examination

I love the new updates that the app has made! The "trips" category and being able to create and save to something organized is really helpful when planning a trip and keeping all your information in one place. The only thing I'd still love to see added to the app is a place on your personal account where you can visibly see how many people have read each of your reviews, as well as the monthly update of how many overall readers you have. Thanks, TripAdvisor!

A very useful app to find places to eat, stay, and visit. First resource I use for somewhere new.

Found loads of good places to go, but I hate it when I click on a link in a search engine to open the app and it just takes me to the homepage and not to the particular restaurant etc that I was looking up.

It was about 6 yrs ago when I first used TripAdvisor, visiting an unfamiliar city one weekend I was searching Google for a good restaurant when I saw a review by the app and after installing TA and reading more reviews the place I had first chosen seemed to be rated rather poorly, searching further I found a place that not only was nearby but the reviews were spot on and it has been a favorite place of mine ever since. Thanks to TripAdvisor and the 'average everyday people'who contribute to it.

No longer user-friendly The app seems just to want you to book hotels through it, and is no longer easy to use to enquire and research accommodation, restaurants, attractions etc.

Just pushes to book hotels. It won't let you search anything without a date, so you can't lookup best places to visit, you can rank best hotels by region ect. I've never understood the need to have a date field. I just want to get advice on a trip not book it already! Choosing when I want to go is the last step in planing a trip (ideally) Just let me look up top ranked hotels, locations without a date. I'll find a better app to use instead I guess.

I've been using this app for quite a while I'm happy with the reviews I've been given they always seem to be spot-on I'd recommend this for the Avid Traveler

Tripadvisor is the perfect 24-hour concierge when traveling. I've never experienced errors with the App, and I've found most reviews helpful.

Sadly, no longer my go to app for all things travel related. Main gripes: when a search (on Google etc) returns a link to a TA page, I end up at the 'where to?' landing page, not the page I wanted. Trips functionality has been updated, not in a good way. Other annoyances include not being able to search for hotels without dates; hotels being listed in 'best value' order - what does that even mean? (Answer: different things to different people).

I RELY on TripAdvisor for the best things to do and places to eat, both near home and especially when travelling. It's the greatest!

When you are looking at something specific on web browser n click on it, it does not open in the app on the subject instead just goes to the main page. Wonder why...

I love this app when traveling and while traveling. So easy to search and compare where to go and what to do when you get there.

Excellent and helpful application. It really helps travelers in different unknown countries. Easy to use.

Very easy to use, I always like to find food around the place. Also comparing price for the hotel.

Every time I click on a TripAdvisor search result link on Google, I'm forced to go through this app, which brings me to the home page. Sometimes I'm able to find the same article by searching specifically for it through the app, but it's unnecessary faff, and sometimes I can't find it. As a result, I'm no longer able to view articles on TripAdvisor, which is a shame. I wish there was an option of just viewing it on a browser.

So annoying when you follow a link from Google it doesn't take you directly. You get sent to a generic page and need to search again

Excellent and up to date information. The forums are very helpful. Prices on hotels are very competitive

Great app for the one's who frequently travell. Gives good insight into the hotel or place u travel, I started putting my experience here to help other...good app

Easy to use, easy to create alerts and book flights, easy to review a place.

Informative and helpful. Easy to keep in touch with the owner Payments all safe and secure.

Excellent app for finding hotels, B&B, restaurants, things to do at any city!

love this app. it makes my travels easier and it gives me reliable insights about hotels, tours and restaurants.

Could be improved, especially search options across different country domains (eg: search a Spanish word on a Japanese app or similar)

Always helpful and accurate. I have used your service for many years for a lot of domestic and international travel.

An excellent app. I can virtually go anywhere with the app and the tips and the iterations are really helpful.

I use this app every time I travel!! I keep trying new things because of the other travelers opinions. Thanks Trip Advisor :)

A very good selection of places to stay at, with a good summary of inclusions at each place. When we are ready to go away we will use this site.

The app keeps getting worse, try searching for town, try looking what's nearby, takes forever, doesn't show anything... Their testers should just get fired, it's 2019 guys, come on, this is unacceptable for a travel app to be this unusable. Update 31/10 - the app keeps getting worse, tried searching for top attractions in a town, can't seem to find a way to do this anymore. This is ridiculous, it used to be my go to app for traveling, now it's completely useless.

Use to be worthwhile now its only sell sell sell. Information is not readily available without jumping through sales pitches.

Very easy to use, gives you a wide range of comments to help you decide if you will utilise services offered.

Was my go-to travel app once upon a time but now all the results are skewed to selling you daytrips, hotels, etc. Will likely stop using it altogether soon if things stay as they are. Plus links from my searching on Google no longer open to the correct page. Getting more and more useless by the day. Uninstalling the app. May continue to use the website from time to time...

I appreciate reading the positive and negative sides of restaurants, hotels, destinations. It's helpful when someone writes specifics such as hotel quietness, room conditions and if there was a problem, if it was resolved. Restaurants evals such as specific prices instead of $,$$,$$$. .I try and write certain aspects that I think people would want to know. I check hotel bathroom floors, corners for cleanliness, toilets, sheets, smells etc. It's important to me. I try to include positive pics.

Like many of the comments, there is a bug that doesn't allow you to open URLs from Google searches.

Lovely app , Beautiful what I have so cool for showing and telling the people to trus on what we having do the right business , Would like to recommend to all the people please using this app by download the app will be awesome mate !

Great place to read reviews and list your own. The Forums are v helpful too, for receiving specific help about a location. The Inbox feature is less helpful, as you get an inbox message every time somebody Likes a photo , and even after reading every Inbox item, you often still get a One unread icon. Posting photos can be arduous on a phone, as even though you select, say, 6 photos, and all are ticked, often only 1 gets uploaded. But overall pisitive

Really like Trip Advisor however, the app can often be really buggy when trying to log in with Facebook. It would also be great to have a feature where you can easily save places, beaches, restaurants, etc. that you may like to visit. It probably already has this feature somewhere, but if so, it's not easy to find.

Keeps getting worst, this was my go to app for everything travel related but lately it's just not fit for purpose. 1. When I am searching on Google and want to view a forum discussion on TripAdvisor or to view a place or review once I click the link it no longer takes me to the specific content (within the app) but puts me on the landing page, literally every time. There are more issues but I have reached the character limit, I agree with other posters that the testers should be fired.

Awesome app, it connects different people to different places. I just love it.

Trip Advisor is my "Go to App" when it comes to getting up-to-date ratings on a place. It is also important to me to know that it is based on an experience of someone who has been there, done that. One of the MOST important items I look for (in any place) is the cleanliness. This is where I look. 😉

Getting worst its so difficult to search in your application Search for India and it shows Indianapolis . Why cant it search directly from resort name? Its so irritating guys please change it

I love trip advisor. We've literally used it around the world. I would caution, if you see 1 or 2 bad reviews on places with otherwise high ratings, I would try it. You can't please all the peeps all the time.
