Garbage. Cannot look at an article unless you are signed in. I DO have a subscription and have attempted sign-in multiple times. I am continually told my credentials are incorrect (though I use same creds on the Star web page and the mobile app with no issue). There's no way in; no "display password", or "having trouble?" or "change password" option. Useless waste of space on my device. Deleting once this review has had a few days to be read.

Excellent . Reads much better on a tablet than on the unwieldy paper print . No folding or turning large pages . Just flick your finger back and forth . No requirement for light weather by day , by night , or No light . No need for reading glasses , just use the zoom in and out feature of tablet . I'm using Galaxy S2 . Even better , you can keep up to 60 issues on your device to read stuff that you've missed . I would give it a 5 star if I could save the e-paper to a PDF file .

It's irrational to sell a subscription that doesn't allow access to the digital paper unless you also receive the hard copy. Why tie subscribers to hard copy at all?
Cindy Liu
It's a bit finicky sometimes and I wish I could bookmark articles I'd like to save (like I how I would cut out articles with physical papers), but overall not bad.

Until now, phone resolutions didn't make it comfortable to read the paper in its natural layout, but the Star's ePaper is an excellent reader. I wish there was a little leading space for paragraphs in the plain text view, and choice of fonts, but it's okay that the natural layout is easier to read.

Sometimes, in single article full-screen reading mode, after side scrolling the article will later again appear, sometimes with a different byline. Today, with the latest version, the same download took several minutes, twice. None of the articles shown in the full page view had links. I re-opened the paper. None of the full pages had text; I saw placeholders for links. Edit: article dupes are an ongoing annoyance.

I downloaded this app a while ago. I tried it a couple of times. It was fine, I could access everything I was interested in reading. However, today it wouldn't give me access at all. I had high hopes for this app. I'm not going to fight to have my login info accepted every time I want to read the local newspaper. It's too frustrating. I just deleted it.

Its a really good replacement for the paper edition. Its an electronic replica of the actual newspaper with the ability to continue reading articles continued on inside pages and the ability to get back to the page you were on. Its great.
Ed Collis
Confusing. Does not look like the paper version. Cannot find the articles I want. Designed by and for 12 year olds.

The news part is okay, I like being able to go to the rest of an article then back easily. I am disappointed that the puzzles cannot be accessed. They should be able to be either done in the paper app or downloaded to be done.
