Used to be the best. Now it looks as if it's no longer being maintained. Doesn't support split apks. As more and more apps go this way, Titanium becomes more and more useless every day. Swift and SAI are two alternatives that support apks. They've both got their limitations, but at the moment they're better alternatives to Titanium. Hopefully, Titanium will be updated to support apks sometime in the very near future..

titanium backup root needed apk download Useful app, however recently I tried to do something and it deleted all my user data. I had a system app that kept re-enabling itself (google news). At first I ignored google news, but after being given news notifications constantly about news I do not care about it got really annoying. After a while, I got so tired of it that I decided to use a root app to delete it. I had stock recovery but decided to try Titanium Backups force remove by recovery exploit. I figured it would either fail or it would work, and if it failed I would try a different approach. Well, third option happened, it deleted all my user data. (✖╭╮✖) The force remove by recovery exploit needs a warning that if it fails, it could cause the recovery to perform a phone reset with the deletion of all user data. Worse part is that google news is still on my phone.

titanium backup root needed When I try to backup I get error insufficient space available with 20 GB free storage. If I try to restart the titanium, the failed backups for the apps that failed appear to be successfull. In that case there are 2 possible senarios: 1) the backup failed but the corrupted backup files were not deleted 2) the backup succeded but the error message is wrong. Totally unreliable for backing app important data. Glad I did not pay for the full version.

titanium backup pro key root needed apk Long time pro user starting with JB, since Oreo (8.1) it doesn't work properly. It has not been updated since nearly one year... What's the poi nt to make backups that you can't restore ? On my way to a better solution (Swift Backup ?). I feel been ripped off . These unmaintained app should be removed from the store. There's still ppl paying for this app that's not working anymore.

titanium backup pro key ★ root needed apk Dead app. Not even updated since last year. Even when android 11 comes, it isn't updated yet. If it's ain't stuck while restoring some apps, including the splitted apk, I wouldn't complaint. But it stucks since 8 months!

titanium backup pro key ★ root needed 1.3.2 apk Absolute disaster trying to restore from my old broken Android 7 device to a new Android 10. On nearly every app i really needed the data/settings, TB just hangs in the "Restore app+data" screen. I tried the various restore settings, but nothing helped. So basically fails at its core job to backup/restore your data.

titanium backup pro key root needed Most Apps are not getting restored. The Restoring process goes on and on infinitely even for a 1MB app but nothing happens. I've to force close it everytime I try to restore something. I regret my decision of purchasing this app since it works only half of what I paid for which makes it useless.

descargar titanium backup ★ root needed The best feature is the ability to freeze an app. There are far too many (mostly google) apps that are not removable because they are claimed to be necessary system apps, but they're not. My Ti freezer is chock full of google bloat, and my app screen is much less cluttered.

What's the point of having a backup app that only restores 2% of backed up apps. It's been an issue now for over seven years but the developer can't be bothered to fix it. Moved to swift backup and it does backs up and restores my data swiftly.

  11. Nom-avatar

No longer useful. Currently it just crashes as soon as it launches. When it does work on a firmware, it cannot restore all apps.

Edit: ??????????? I installed the pro version and now the app crashes and wont open... Tried uninstalling - no joy and then removed residual files - no joy. This app is busted now, but why when I donated did it break???????????????????????? Refund? Original entry: Bricked my device. Loaded stock ROM and had to start over. This app saved me. Buying donate version now!

The app works great as it always has, but you need to change to settings. If you have issues restoring data, turn off Verify apps over USB in developer options, then turn off play protect in the play store. Titanium now works perfect. Hope this helps.

  14. John Chaney-avatar

It’s just too old now. A note: ***DISABLE “VERIFY APPS OVER USB”*** in developer settings, to get restore to work! Thing is, I read this a while ago and forgot till I saw someone else’s review mentioning this. Already wasted tons of time wondering why it didn’t work...again. Needs updates badly, and sadly, looks like that’ll never be happening. Going to use Migrate instead.

  15. Amy Pagnozzi-avatar

    Amy Pagnozzi

This was a great app but updates are inadequate. UI was never good and the older it gets the less intuitive is. Developer has addons to use if you purchased Pro License as I did but hasn't bothered to describe no less document them in Play store. I'm guessing app isn't generating much money anymore. (personally, Id pay again if regular updates were released). App still worth buying if your device is rooted but hacks required to make most of it.

Was great on my old phone that I rooted. Current phone is not rooted and all 3rd party backup software is only fully functional on a rooted phone. 😢 (except for the manufacture's backup. Eg. LG)

  17. Bradley Webb-avatar

    Bradley Webb

The functionality of this app is good - it is the only backup app to be able to backup and restore externally stored app data (such as kodi addons). BUT... the UI is very intuitive. the Big problem for me is that on an Android TV box the menu buttons on the top are missing, so I have no way to do a batch restore. I logged a support ticket via their web site - no conformation email that ticket was raised, and NO response from company with any suggestions to fix the problem. (I paid for a root key on each android tv box I installed this on too). To not even get a response from them when I have paid money for this app is not acceptable.

Unable to deinstall system apps. Restoring TB backups is not working anymore when switching to a different custom rom. What is going on? A once perfect app has become useless. Extremely disappointing for a pro user.

  19. Rubens Furbetta-avatar

    Rubens Furbetta

Why it stays running all the time in background, consuming precious memory, when there is no backup being done nor scheduled ? Also, when a restore operation fails, specially for system apps, it leaves the user in the dark watching a never ending spinner without any message at all. Countless times I had to force stop the app because of this. A backup app who cannot restore backups is simply useless. I do not complain about the outdated interface because Google's "Material Design" is even worse.

  20. Dave A-W-avatar

    Dave A-W

The app won't open after the update to Android 11 beta 3. The crash log says can't connect to SQLite? This was always the first thing I would install on my phone.

  21. M Singh-avatar

    M Singh

It too far left behind of times. Once upon a time, it used to work but now no more. Even very basic task it can't perform like deleting a system app. New Roms are coming up with system apps which are at different locations than earlier. Titanium can only list those but can't delete and returns a message that it failed to find apk file. Any user with root can delete such apk manually through root file managers. Many other bugs... sorry to say good bye.

  22. Phillip Yallah-avatar

    Phillip Yallah

I downloaded this app after having read years worth of reviews attesting to how handy it is. Apparently the app is not very compatible with modern versions of Android, because it gets stuck when trying to restore the majority of apps I backed up and whose recovery files I verified within TB. The interface is super antiquated and convoluted. Finally, the update.zip file produced by the app failed to work, and could not even be saved to an external SD Card with more than enough space to store it.

I can only give this 1* because of functionality (or lack of). I've finally let MyBackupPro go just to use this app because of plentiful features. I've made a mistake buying the pro key as it doesn't restore my apps and data onto another custom Rom. Very disappointing. 😔

On android 10, we cannot remove Google apps.. As Android 10 have an additional system folder now called /system/product which is an additional folder where apps are stored. You still have the traditional /system/app and /system/priv-app folders with apps but especially the Google apps moved to /system/product now. So please add option to remove apps from product folder. TiBU no longer works and the developer does not seem to be maintaining it. Which is a shame, I've used TiBU for almost 10 years over several phones, but on my recent upgrade to a pixel 3 with Android 10 it seems restore no longer works reliably. As far as I know the best backup tool out there, that being said, it's very troubled to say at least. For instance, if you change your backup location, the app gives you an option to reallocate all your backups, sure why not, but suddenly it realises that it doesn't have access to the new location for some reason so it moves your files to nothingness, or better to say deletes everything, making you lose all your data. I will be very careful using this in the future.

C'mon TiBu, at least update and add in simple Tips: Vendor partition apps need manual remove. 'Verify Apps over USB' Off - Uninstall and manually remove any TiBu entry in data/data/ before reinstalling it - Android bug after firmware flashes, random apps crash/restart even after Playstore uninstall/installs, fix is to ensure 'Android System Webview' is installed and updated via Playstore first! & finally "File Location should be 'Document Provider Storage'

I would have given 5 stars because it really was a good backup app. However, since some time now I've been unable to use it. It doesn't recognize root anymore, and immediately closes when started. Tried uninstalling, removing old app files laying around, etc. It doesn't help. Tried to contact the authors, but never received a reply. So, unfortunately: 1 star.

Accounts, Bluetooth Pairings and Country, Language, Time Zone apparently cannot be correctly backed up for a while now and also the newest update did not change that. This app is an inconvenient convenience. The functionality it promises is all there and works very well in fact. But UI and UX are bar none the worst I've ever seen in a paid app. The app looks outdated, the navigation is complicated, it's bad. This can only be attributed to developer laziness too, since all other factors of this software are excellent. Depending on how savy you are, you need to take a few hours to research all the functions and learn to navigate the interface. I still have issues with those things, even after using this app for 2 years. But I've also not found a better alternative in all that time, so take that as you will -.-

This has been a faithful powerful app for years . It needs some serious updating however. Most obviously the UI needs a refresh - it gives the impression that the app is no longer supported - it has many old references - how long has it been since there was "Android Market"? While functionally most everything works as good as it always has, the "Restore Android ID" no longer functions, due to changes that came with Oreo. It would be awesome if this piece was fixed.

Very good. Can't live without it. But It is incompatible with Android Q Beta 2. After I dirty upgraded from Beta 1 to Beta 2, it worked fine. But if I uninstall the app and then reinstall it, it keeps crashing. I believe it's because of the new storage permission and sandbox introduced in Beta 2. Hope you can fix the issue ASAP. Thanks!

Instaled OK but very erratic & frustrating as far as settings. Very time consuming.... I am using a 2019 H96 Max Android Media Player. Have tried other Backup apps, but most are made to work with a phone. I cannot flip the direction of my display (50 inch TV) and some will not even install. Maybe someone will start writing more apps that work with Android TV Top Boxes and Tablets. Thanks for reading !!

This thing saved my life several times, but usability is AWFUL. Examples: -- I need an external keyboard equipped with a "Menu" key to be able to open the main menu!!! Yes: you will not be able to open the main menu of this app in a modern smartphone only with the nowadays usual three buttons, Back, Home and Recent. And MONTHS passed with NO SOLUTION to this.... this... this "problem". -- The backup folder selection system seems to be made for an alien programmer. An alien drunk programmer. Was good before Android 10. Unfortunately since I've moved to Android 10, I'm unable to uninstall system apps. I get the message 'Failed to locate the apk file'. It's strange because system apps are correctly listed, but not uninstallable. I see another difference in the app drawer. On Android 10, there are 3 apps: 1 for Titanium Backup, 1 for 'Add-on' and 1 for my PRO key. Previously on Android 9, I had only 1 application displayed for Titanium and not 3.

My how the mighty have fallen. This once awesome app no longer functions at the thing it needs to do most - restoring. Your backup will work fine and you'll think you're covered, then when you go to restore, approximately one in seven apps will freeze Titanium Backup. The app never recovers and needs to be force closed. Then start again, deselecting all the apps that have caused it to freeze so far. This has been a problem for the past year. Many people have reported it, yet the coders have done nothing to address the issue. They blame old versions of Busybox in their FAQ, which is NOT the cause. A backup app that can't restore should have negative stars - even zero is too high a rating - because it gives you false hope that your backup will work when you go to restore when in fact it doesn't. Sadly this app appears to be abandoned by the coders.

#1 required app for Android! This is the first app I install on every phone, and every phone should have it. A lifesaver when switching phones! Reinstall old data (including SMS), & pick up apps just where you left off on the old device. Plus, nowadays, "updates" are probably more likely to break apps then improve them, and Titanium Backup makes reverting to a working version simple and easy, you even save all your data!

Titanium Backup had been my beloved go-to root app for nearly a decade, and I am dismayed to today find it no longer works properly. Please add support for split APKs. And have some sort of feedback in the UI when restoring an app runs into trouble rather than stalling forever. I had to dig into logcat to work that out. Thanks for the good years together. So long

I've been reading a lot of people complaining about this app not working after Oreo. I can confirm I've used it recently to back a OnePlus 3T running Nougat, restore everything on a Pixel 2 XL running Pie, backing it up before returning it to the owner who had lent me the device and then restoring the backup to an LG V30 running Oreo. Some apps are poorly written and don't fully allow for this to work (one of my banking apps) or have enhanced security measures that don't allow for a full backup (Google Pay), but I have some 200+ apps on my phone and most of them were restored using Titanium Backup, and also call logs, SMS and even WiFi connections. Been a very happy Pro user since 2010/2011 and I can't praise enough how well this app works for people who can actually dig into the system - but I'll concede that this isn't one of those plug'n'play backups apps for every single use case.

An absolutely essential app for any savvy android user. Packed with fantastic features to manage your installed apps and more. Being able to easily freeze or uninstall system apps, backing up programs and configuration data, are all must haves for any adventurous custom ROM aficionado, and will greatly reduce headaches in the future. This app is entirely worth the price, and I will certainly be on the lookout for other great apps from this developer in the future.

Indeed, how the mighty have fallen. I've been using titanium backup with Pro subscription since I got and rooted my original HTC Desire. Its always been my go to app, but since android 9 I've been running into more issues with this app than I care to work out, especially when restoring apps. Recently tried upgrading my phone to android Q (10) and I was unable to restore apps, even when fiddling with every setting imaginable. Support on the website doesn't work since the captcha won't load.

I never thought i'd see the day where the giant Titanium backup would fall from grace, but that day is here now, people are reporting bugs left and right but the devs seem busy doing god knows what, other than making their app functioning again or even responding to assure users they are working to solve the problems, and with the rise of Split Apks, Titanium is pretty much useless. I've given it a 2, just for the old days where it served me.

Titanium Backup has been a staple in the rooted community for years but it has started to show it's age not only with the interface but also with it's functionality leaving users to find workarounds to some of the problems that have been popping up as new Android versions are developed. Having said that, there are very few apps that can do what Titanium does but none that can completely replace it.

This is a MAJOR issue. There is No Warning, no backing out of this option. The 1st app: a game bought on the Play Store, ~1GB. Latest updates from 8.1 to 8.2.x are a mess and broke the basic functions of a superb app. The devs need to consider rolling back what has been released so people with automatic updates switched on can have their app working again. More QA testing is clearly required and this release after nearly a year of no updates isn't doing the devs any justice. I've gone back to 8.1 which works perfectly on Oreo 8.1 after a nightmare with the updates. Hint: Don't have auto-update switched on for your must-work apps

Requires android file hierarchy knowledge now. Titanium Backup Pro (quite pricey) cannot locate bloat apk such as; Chrome, Drive, GMAIL.. which sit in the /System/Product/app hierarchy. And can simply delete the .apk myself. Titanium which I used in the past, could effortless remove any APK to the point it was dangerously awesome. Batch backup is great, but once again I can create a sh script which can do the same thing.. Feeling a bit ripped off..

Recently I found TB was crashing during backup, and I realised I ahve been running the same version for 4 years! Updated TB, and now all good. TB freeze is a great way to prevent apps chewing CPU and battery,. It does not acquire root anymore ... though it's enabled and granted in Magisk. Oneplus 6T. Edit: It did acquire eventually, when I cleaned up whatnot (including /data/data/ tb's files ). This is nonsense. Recently stopped restoring properly apps from backups and just hangs on the waiting dialog, no matter of what options I choose ( including classic installer ). It just FAILS. I have to force-stop it and then restart the process, guessing if it will work eventually. I don't even want to mention the countless options (just want it to work) and stupid information (which I don't need). Cloud backup never "just worked", so I gave up there. I'm really really fed up with TB, used it for so many years, but I'm done. Switching to Swift Backup, as it seems to perform and work as intended, looks MUCH better, has only the basic information ( who needs an icon if it's "linked" to Google Play?!? Oh, and btw, this also does not work properly in TB ) and is much more intuitive.

I am a big fan of TiB however I have to leave 1 star until the developer can make the app run on my Pixel2. The pixel phones receive android updates months before the other phone manufacturers can release them. If you own the newest of the new non-pixel phone and you receive a fresh Android update, my phone will be 2 or 3 updates ahead of that. So I'm wondering if this is why TiB wont run on this device. I am unsure if other pixel owners are having this problem.

Misclick on delete near the restore button permanently deletes your backup without any confirmation. Doesn't even back itself up - if you ever forget to set max backups to more than 1 (default), each backup permanently deletes a previous one. Beware - if you don't have at least 3 backups, it's as if you didn't even have any! Doesn't help you to restore system app settings - if you do in fact attempt to restore them, it bricks your phone. You must find out that only those green 0101/XML app with titanium icon can be safely restored - obviously no batch support, you must do it one by one. Cannot restore a system app's update (which is a user app), instead you have to restore it as a system app, overwriting your ROM! That means you can't ever safely restore a system app's data, as you may have had a newer version!!! Example: Google Maps and their settings like notifications, that obviously aren't backed up in a cloud. Doesn't restore any system permissions for your apps - battery optimization, notification access, etc. Doesn't make your apps run, so if you batch restore and forget to turn on every single one of them, they won't work in the background even if they're supposed to. Doesn't handle errors properly, just stays stuck which requires you to restart your phone - hoping you install some Logcat in order to debug any issues like Google Play Protect blocked installations. Dangerous, misclick-prone settings, one bad touch while scrolling and you are in for a hell next time you use it (most Android apps are like this, no undo, no readonly scrolling, no feedback..., but system-critical apps are supposed to be more secure you know). Creates directories in internal memory home in spite of any Android best practices. This last issue is seriously annoying for anyone who isn't so ignorant about their storage space that they only ever open photos and music. Home directory isn't supposed to be a trash for all apps! ..... Overall I hate how our community has became so dependant on this terrible excuse of a backup software having the worst user unfriendly UI on top of all hidden issues, forcing for example all noobs on xda site to use it, because in 100% of ALL cases of any backup/root/flash related google search, Titanium Backup is the only advised solution! And because it "works", noone cares enough to develop an alternative. Even though that should've been a job of Google imho, but they care even less about users.

App data backup / restore works, but that's about it. * It only backs up the main .apk file in a split apk. Restoring a backup of split apk will most likely cause the app to crash.Google is pushing app bundles hard, so these will become more and more common. * It doesn't backup Messages / call logs correctly (DB location moved to /data/user_de/0 sometime in Kit-Kat? This backs up the old location) * Backups occasionally fail reporting no space left, despite having more than enough available * Lots of UI issues, such as dark text on dark buttons - nearly illegible * Developer is unresponsive to support emails

Restore SMS/MMS on a Pixel 2 XL stock Q with latest Magisk 20 stable. 1st: Addon asked for the required permissions upon install, but didn't trigger the default SMS app thing. Thus, it didn't start to restore, until I go in settings > apps > default apps and change stock message to Addon. 2nd: Got stuck at 98% forever. One of its kind. Worst of its kind. The UI and design choices are terrible. Every crucial setting is hidden behind multiple layers. And the default setting always causes the most data loss. By default cache is excluded, external storage data is restricted to 32MB, and max backup history is one. Last I made a backup with this, it not only didn't save the cache and external data, but also deleted all my old backups that were proper backups. Atrocious.

I loved this app. It was my first and arguably most valuable purchase ever. Unfortunately I simply cannot recommend it to anyone at present. Its restore function has become all but unusable. Even for restoring apps without data, let alone with data, which barely ever works anymore.

Sketchy. Not only has it fallen behind the steady march of software progress, it seems to be asking for unnecessary permissions to do untrustworthy things. I gave it calendar access and it spammed my calendar with ads for "free samsung s10." I don't have root anymore but Lord knows what it would do with such power. I bought Pro a long time ago but I sure wouldn't now. This app's functionality stagnated in the KitKat-Lollipop era; now it coasts on its old reputation to sell your data.

Needs a Android 10 update.. really bad. I was trying to restore my messages for the longest time it would not restore anything. Turns out in this version, you have to manually set the default sms app to tibu before you run the restoration. Used to automatically promptng you to switch the default app. Also you need to disable play protect and verify app over usb to restore certain apps. Again would've been helpful before i wiped everything. Needs a 2020 makeover in gui and fix bugs like this

Hi Titanium Backup app developers, I'm really intrigued by the magic this app performs. I'll sincerely say I love your work & I love the app too. I gave Titanium Backup a 5 star even though the app can't be used on my Infinix X551, but I've watched this app being used to backup & restore the custom ROM of some android phones it is compatible with. This app is a blessing. Please TITANIUM BACKUP app developer, kindly update your beautiful app & make it usable for Infinix users {Infinix X551}. 😘😘

The UI is awkward, for sure, but it works, every time, for everything I've wanted to backup and restore. I just wish it could back up and restore its own settings (auto-sync TB settings either doesn't work).

The 8.2.1 update fixed the force close issue when reinstalling apps. Now there is a new bug where if you leave the screen (as in go to another app) then come back TB will reload itself. Never did that on the previous releases. Beyond that still a good app

I don't think this app is compatible with any version of Android above 7.0 as far as the batch operations are concerned. I'm rooted on Android 8.0 and I can't get not one app to install with batch restore, but it will install SOME apps individually which defeats the point of me using this app. After I finish taking all day to restore my apps I'll be looking for a replacement.

Functionality is good, works as expected. The design and the menus are really dated by now though. I have adjusted to the software, so using it is okay for me, but I can see that new users would have a hard time getting into the app.

Worked great for Android 4. Now on Android 7 however, one program is causing issues: XPosedEdge. The .tar data file doesn't contain the icons anymore. Other programs suchas NovaLauncher, MacroDroid, Tasker etc. work just fine. Contacted dev. Let's hope he responds
