This Is the Police is a strategy/adventure game set in a city spiraling the drain. Taking the role of gritty Police Chief Jack Boyd, you'll dive into a deep story of crime and intrigue. Will Jack reach his retirement with a nice stack of bills, or will he end up broken ... or worse?

- Your mission is clear: make $500,000 in 180 days before Jack Boyd reaches retirement. How? That’s up to you!

- Decisions, decisions! This Is the Police is all about a dark story and how you react to it. Whatever you decide, your choices will influence the game – and the fate of Jack Boyd.

- The Good, the Bad, and... the Ugly? The Chief of Freeburg's Police Department deals with all kind of people. It is up to you to find the bad guys and decide how to deal with them.

- Carry out your duties. As head of Freeburg PD, Jack deals with all sorts of challenges every day: responding to emergencies, managing his officers, defending the department against City Hall and a corrupt mayor, and much more.

- Solve Investigations and gather evidence against the criminal gangs of Freeburg.

- Deal with the competing powers of the city. Everyone offers you favors, and each one comes at a price.

I really do love this game. I have a small screen android so it doesn't fare well on it (OnePlus 6T) however works really well on a tablet or Microsoft Surface Go products as you can unlock the S mode from it to run legacy programs and apps. I have this particular game on Nintendo Switch and it's perfect for the Switch due to it's dedicated graphics processor for games.

The game has a solid concept and I like that the story has some darker elements to it. However I'm not crazy about the fact that unless you act as a dirty cop and help the mafia you get killed in the first week and have to start over. I like that the option is there but I can't support a game that just forces you to be a dirty cop.

This is pretty much a straight port of the PC game from what I can tell. For the most part it works fine, although sometimes a few buttons feel really small on my phone. I wish there was an obvious way to pause during cutscenes. Also please be aware that this is definitely a game meant for adults--it deals with a lot of disturbing subject matter.

Engaging narrative, fantastic pacing. Gritty, 'choose your own adventure' police management sim. Guide a grizzled police chief through his last months on the job. The game is rife with impactful choices, and the writing is excellent. Solve crimes, fight and/or engage in corruption, and be careful who you trust! Try to retire alive, and with something to show for all your years of service. Well worth the price; one of the best games available on Android.

I've put a handful of hours into this game and it's great! It's fundamentally a resource management game using police and detectives. I can't give it 5 stars, though, because if I didn't have a Galaxy Note phone with a stylus, this would be frustrating to play on a phone - recommend you only play on a tablet or with a stylus. The developer has done a great job otherwise but should adjust the sizing of the interface elements to improve mobile usability. Also - THANK YOU for the lack of IAP!

This game is great. I've only played half of it so far and it's got me sucked in. But as with every game there are a few flaws. I find the audio gets a bit bugged after I start using bluetooth earbuds. Not when im using the earbuds, but after I take them out and want to use the phone speakers. Also the text is a little small for me to read, I play on a Galaxy note 10 plus. But other than that, it's been a joy. Can't wait to play the second one once I'm done with this one.

An absolutely incredible and immersive experience. The story was written by people with true talent. I could feel the characters emotions and was sincerely surprised by each new turn of events. The game play is thought provoking, you have to actually read each scenario and remember the details to make the best move. Never seen a mobile game to have such a deep story and well thought out dynamic. Overall, I'm impressed! Hoping the sequel is just as good.

When it first tells you it's going to be 180 days of gameplay, you think itll pass by SUPER fast. Wrong! Surprisingly long game, in the good way. Amazing. Simply amazing. Not at all what I expected, and much better than I assumed itd be. I really hope they make more games like this. Pro tip, don't let your drunk cops drive anywhere, unless you dislike them 😉

I really love this game, and the 2nd as well. What I would really like and I think that would boost it to 5 stars, would be a free mode without cutscenes. Just give me a squad where I could edit the names and appearances with a random set of crimes for the day. Build them up over 100 days. I think that would quadruple the replay value

Do NOT listen to the reviews complaining about mechanics, pace or writing. This game is deliberate with its intent and is well worth the install. Only played it once it was on play pass but if I had paid full price I would not be disappointed. What appears to be simplistic game play turns into choices that can get incredibly hard. Sometimes there's no good answer and only choices. This game relays the monotony of the job of police chief and its twists and turns will leave you agasp.
