v4.0 of the app has a great look and feel for vehicle controls but changes for energy products have made things worse. It's impossible to get the same graphs and data that have previously been available for years. For example, with the previous version, I could do a monthly graph and instantly see which days my solar production exceeded my household usage. It's impossible to do that or to stack the graphs in the new app. There's also no date picker, so you can't easily get intra-day data from a date in the past. Also, Balanced mode has been removed, changing how our Powerwalls work with our solar system to power our house. Now if we try charging a car during the day, it drains the Powerwalls and sends solar to the grid. With Balanced mode, we were able to use solar to charge the cars and power the house and save the Powerwalls for peak period. Please bring back Balanced mode or add a scheduled self-powered mode. Those of us using Balanced mode aren't interested in "cost saving".

Change for the sake of change is not always a good thing. This update proved it. I would give a zero if I could. I agree with all the other reviews. This is a step backward. Old version was much better. They removed functionality and made interface nonintuitive. I need glasses to read the text now. House icon is stupid and useless waste of space that forced smaller text. I was hoping for multiple peak times.

Ever since the redesign I have been having numerous issues even after 2 updates. The most noticeable is the car NEVER shows that it is charging. I know it is charging currently because I plugged it in and everything was working but then I check the app and it doesn't even know its charging. It just thinks the charge port is open. No amps/kW, or estimates. It also randomly tells me it's interupted during charging but it absolutely is not. Unbelievable. Get it together ffs. I'm so sick of this.

This latest update has some glitches. It works ok on my phone except the map background is all black and hard to see. The car speed now registers on the main screen instead of showing on the map. The animation of the car driving is fine but not really helpful. My wife's phone always shows the car status as "Last seen 3 minutes ago". I'll try emailing Tesla and see what they say.

Last version had 5 stars, this version has 1. Please please please bring back the old version, at least for home energy usage, generation and battery etc graphics? It was so much easier to see and compare usage for solar vs home vs grid etc, now much less clear if not impossible. Car is perhaps marginally better, being able to open charge port from "home" but otherwise this app version is a step backwards I'm afraid.

Hard to see because of colours and size. Only used for powerwall. Colours change instead of staying blue=home, yellow=solar, green=powerwall, whitish=grid when you used the slider by day. No way of seeing all usage at the same time. Most worrying is it showed one usage level on my app and a totally different one on my husbands, when we were both logged on at exactly the same time. Bring back the old version.

Doo doo for the solar side. Old app worked great for several years. "Update" (certainly not an upgrade) drops data often, meaning I can no longer trust ongoing totals. Graphs are no longer useful, with limited overlays. Huge step backwards. SolarGuard was far better than this trash. I've got tens of thousands of dollars invested here, and I've been handed an app that was apparently coded by a ten year-old using a TRS-80.

It had some interesting functions but: - It is missing a very useful function you need for charging your car, such as timer to schedule your charging using your phone. - You can not check if there is any new update has arrived or not. It will tell you when it tells you. -There is delay to connect with the car.

The latest update was a substantial downgrade for powerwall owners. The way the app presents and downloads data is much less useful. Providing net and average values for grid usage is meaningless when I buy and sell power at different rates. The old app also had more granular data and a much cleaner presentation. The update looks nicer, but sacrifices so much usability.

Tesla itself needs no introduction at this point. The car itself is an incredible feat of engineering and the latest app update was much needed. The overall experience of being a Tesla owner is similar to that moment of switching from the old school flip phones to the iPhone (as I type this out on a pixel.. damn apple for owning the vocabulary! 😂)... There's no going back
