"Expand your position"

ExtGPS allows you to share your phone's built-in GPS module externally via Bluetooth connection to other devices. Shared NMEA data can be then used on more sophisticated map and geographical information applications to extend your positioning usage and go beyond the Smartphone capabilities.

Special note for all iOS users (iPod, iPhone and iPad)! Current version of ExtGPS only supports NMEA data via serial port which is not compatible with default Apple positioning system.

After a few false starts, I have finally found a GPS over BT APP that works supremely reliably with GpsGate running on my Windows 8 laptop. I have TomTom plus extGPS running on my Galaxy S3 and Memory-Map plus MapPoint running on my laptop, connected via BT ... ALL with a GPS fix. I was looking for a suitable replacement for GpsGate on Android and it looks like extGPS is that tool... fantastic! Just one thing that could do with improving is that it should be more tightly bound with the GPS/BT services and start automatically as a service itself when appropriate.

This is a brilliant little app. With it I can give my Windows 8 tablet GPS for use in desktop navigation programs that don't support Microsoft's brilliantly stupid location API. Very easy to setup and works precisely as advertised.

This was the first android GPS -> NMEA over BT that worked straight up and is the easiest BUT ...... 1: smashes (no really smashes!) your bandwidth with adds, turn off data B4 starting app 2: turning off data is OK cos this app locks your phone in full screen anyway Other two that worked were: - Share GPS: v simple and lightweight but slightly unstable BT connection, runs in background - GPS over BT: Full spec app but kept syncing to Active Sync on COM port first (get a mesage about no service trying to connect to GPS), needed to disable Active Sync in BT phone properties to get it to work, runs in background

Is it possible to provide location even when you are inside? Not only when GPS getting signal.

Working well. But missing satelites counter or graph.

Works perfectly linking GPS data to a tablet with flight software.
