If you use your watch at night or in dark places (in Theater, while driving at night, on your bed table...) you will definitively love SWApp True Dark !!! Google Wear Theater mode is offering you this: When enabled, the screen is OFF, you can't see anything at all. If you want to have a look at incoming notifications you have to turn the screen on and the luminosity is then far too high. SWApp True Dark lets you darken your watch screen as much as you want it ! You will still be able to see your clock face and incoming notifications but with such a low luminosity that you won't bother other People ! SWApp True Dark will allow you to put your watch on his dock at night while emitting far less light then usual even with luminosity put at its minimum, letting you see the time but without being disturbed by the light. Dark mode can be auto enabled when the watch is on his dock (you can enable this feature during a certain period only, at night for example). This is amazing. I can now use my watch in a dark theater or late at night without blinding myself or others. The main complaint I have is the total lack of instructions. You have to guess how to adjust the brightness.(a standard slider would help a lot) and you have to guess what some of the options do (I have no clue what some of them do). Fix both and this is easily a 5 star app.

Works really well. My watch's lowest brightness setting is WAY too bright. I wish this had some kind of little dot it could throw on your watch face though like Wear Mini Launcher does. That would be better for toggling brightness than taking up a spot on the left side which could be used for a drawer or something.

Great app and does what it sets out to do. The user interface is a little confusing and the controls on the watch are a bit hit and miss but its a free app! Would be willing to pay if the interface was improved and if it had some kind of automatic timer where you could set the brightness automatically at set times, eg bright during the day and darker at night.

A user guide would be nice. FYI, lightbulb ON means app is ON, not lightbulb dark means screen is dark as would seem sensible. I can't seem to get the swipe to toggle feature to work either, unless i'm missing something? Other than that though it works great and I don't mind opening the app on my watch to toggle it on and off. I'd recommend setting the brightness on your phone while watch is in ambient mode though. The sliders in the watch app work but you can't see what you're doing so they are a bit redundant.

Know this app when searching solution for too bright ambient mode, it's a great app but unfortunately not compatible with zenwatch 2 ambient mode, it only cut down pixels showed instead of brightness, off screen when lower than 55%. Since zenwatch 2 ambient is diff than G watch R. Maybe it work with the ambient mode tat dim the display only, instead those of cutting down pixels, disable anti alias n colors.

Heard the app was free from XDA. Downloaded it and it does what it says it does. Only problems I've been having is it does save toggle settings. From day to day, I turn my watch off overnight instead of charging it every day or wearing it over night. The next time I go to turn it on and connect it to my phone, the toggle setting (left, right, up or down swipe) doesn't initialize. I need to go into the swapp app on my phone to get it to work again. Other than that, nice job on the app.

After 5-star review now a 1-star. App constantly does nothing and when it does it's when I don't want it to run. App constantly crashes, Half the toggle buttons don't stick and reset to off. This is one of those rare times I wish this was the Apple Store where apps like this would probably have been rejected,

My Huawei watch ambient mode was too bright at night even at the lowest brightness setting. This app fixes that and works flawlessly. "hot spot" on/off toggle works great once you get used to it. One request for developer, a setting to auto trigger dim depending on time of day. For example, watch dims automatically after 7 pm.

This is the missing app. This is the one that makes the watch usable in both bright sunlight with my sunglasses on, and at night in bed. This is the app that lets it happen, and also extend your battery life because it turns down the brightness beyond what it normally would go. Best part? I can swap the brightness from what you needed bright sunlight all the way down for indoors use with just one swipe of my finger. This is the app.

I love the always on setting on my smart watch. However, the setting kills my battery in 7 to 8 hours. With this app, I am now getting close to 18 hours with the screen always on! Simply incredible and a must have for anyone with a smart watch!
