Wanted to love it... I love how low-key this app is, and straightforward, but I think the problem is that it can't draw over other apps so when the app activates it does not come to the foreground of my screen. It also does not seem to be able to overcome the lock screen so I would have to leave my phone unlocked all night, which wouldn't be that big of a deal, except that when this app activates it does not come to the foreground so there's no light change.

Thank you for making this app, it simple and to the point. However, I've opted away from using it because of a small but important flaw in its performance on my Samsung galaxy s7. The initial level of both brightness and volume is too high and instead of gradually waking me up, I wake up immediately. The initial level of brightness should be 0% - completely black. Basically just show a black screen - in HSV color space just set value to 0. Sound should likewise be 0% initially.

Used this app religiously for months, and it was perfect at gently waking me up with light and sound, however after the Android 10 update it doesn't seem to be working, despite checking that permissions are given. Very sad as no other app I have tried since gently increases the volume of the alarm as well as light. Please fix!

After using this app for a couple of months, the alarm I had set just disappeared. It was there one morning, not there the next. I hadn't opened the app or anything. So the alarm didn't go off, and I missed work. Other than that deal breaking flaw, the app worked perfectly. Edit: While I appreciate the developer getting back to me, my Samsung phone didn't kill the app because it was unused for 3 days. The alarm setting disappeared from the app itself. Samsung doesn't delete settings internal to an app, they just suppress the app.

It's a simple and good looking app. It does what it says. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to allow more than one alarm and the alarm needs to be reset every day despite the 'repeat' option being selected. The early bird ring tones are long enough that the loop isn't annoying.

** Updated 9th November following some amendmends by the developer** The original review is underneath, however since then, the developer has been in touch and made amendments, such as starting the brightness at a lower level so that the initial turning on of the screen is not so intrusive. You can now use this app to gently wke you from your sleep, and i am told that a sleep function is in progress, which would be great. At present, i still find the use a bit clunky, for example the screen comes on 30 minutes before the time you set the alarm. Personally i would rather it comes on at the time i set, but that is just a preference. In any case, i would now rate this app as 3 stars as it is usable and given the quick response of the developer, i strongly suspect that this app will keep improving beyond 3 stars. ORIGINAL REVIEW Not what i expected I set the alarm to test it, immediately after installing. The "sunrise" comes completely on, lighting the screen suddenly (no fading and colour change as expected), and the sounds didn't start (i didn't give them chance). The choice of sounds is very limited too. Maybe i expected too much....certainly dont understand the 5 star ratings in any case.

The app doesn't consistently work and turn on in the mornings. I have set the weekly schedule and every few weeks it shows that no schedule is even set. I have to use another alarm at the same time because I don't trust this one. It's wonderful when it works. But I need to find one I can trust.

Not dependable. Sometimes it clears all the alarms and I don't know it until it's too late. I'm keeping it because as long as I check the night before, I'm ok. I like that I can change the sounds and the amount of time the light comes on my phone before I wake. It's also not too bright, but still wakes me.

Doesn't work. Two mornings in a row - no birds chirping, no screen changes (except for right now as in typing and have it open in the background it's going light then dark over and over). Seems buggy. God Uninstaller. I still had my Samsung alarm set. Uninstalling.

This was working just fine until a week or so ago. The app badge shows up in my notification bar, but the screen and alarm never come on. Tried all the permissions settings and battery options and still won't work 😪
