I haven't used this for too long but i was testing out a wide variety of games (including non steam games like java Minecraft) and they seemed to work well as long as the controls were set up properly. Some games have the screen cut off though which is weird, but those weren't compatible with the app anyways so it's no big deal. I just wish you could pick which keyboard letters you could put on your screen because i need the Q key for a lot of my games and i can't switch it out

For something like this you have to understand it's limitations, it would help many people to understand the heavy requirements to make this work well. Your wireless network needs to be very fast on both wired on the PC end and MIMO AC on the other is probably ideal, video is transcoded on the fly which means the fastest CPU you can provide will yield the best results on the PC end. If I could request anything it would be remote connection without having to connect to a virtual network.

GAMES & PROGRAMS: App works pretty well, but tends to have an issue with disconnects and slight lag between your input devices, for this reason I suggest sticking to turn-based games. Additionally, you don't have to stick to just Steam games, you can also remote access non-Steam games and other programs; this makes an excellent alternative for the lack of web browsers on nVidia Shield devices if you add your PC web browser as a game on your Steam account. STORE: I do have to say that trying to go over the store through the app should probably be avoided; while being able to watch the trailers on a large screen is nice (if using an nVidia Shield & the full screen works here (where it doesn't on the Steam Authenticator app), this app negates certain information when you are go through the store (like publisher & developer, among some other bits of information that you may use to make decisions in your purchases), as well as it doesn't listen to your ignore list (so you'll still see things that were added to your ignore list, where they should have been blocked). Additionally, your wishlist is sorted by last added, I can't see another option for sorting, nor does the app give even give you the option. COMMUNITY: Most Community functions appear to work (with the exception of Workshop items, which appears to break other functions if included, meaning you have to negate that option if you want anything to load, further meaning you need to avoid the All or Recent listings). The search option will allow you to filter by a certain game, but you will need a keyboard to use it (this is provided on a smartphone, but no virtual keyboard is offered on an nVidia Shield). DEVICES: Smart phones will offer virtual hardware (keyboard, mouse & gamepad), while you will need AT LEAST a gamepad if you intend on using this app on an nVidia Shield (additional functions become available if you also have a keyboard and/or mouse). Use of the mouse is very similar to the mobile TeamViewer app, movement of the mouse will mimic the movement of your finger over the phone's screen. DIRECT PC DEVICES: Note that it's also possible to use a keyboard, mouse or gamepad that is connected directly to the PC while using this app, this solves the minor delay in input that you get through the app & should allow you play more games without having to worry about delay throwing off your key/button presses (like in rhythm games). Provided your PC is close enough to the device you are running the app on, this could be done through devices that have a bluetooth receiver or if you have a USB extension cord (and USB hub if necessary) that reaches to your other device.

Why did I wait so long to use this?? The Steam Link app is amazing! I used it to stream Fallout 4 from my laptop on a fully wireless setup (5GHz WiFi, 230 Mbps down / 10 Mbps up) and it ran smoothly with settings at Beautiful quality and 75 Mbps bitrate. The image looked virtually identical to my laptop screen with the game on Ultra settings. I was truly amazed. And my Razer Kishi controller worked perfectly. PRO TIP: slow upload speed doesn't matter if both devices are on the same network.

Stop trying to be so smart and rescale/minimise everything when I start up a game. Just take my screen and put it on the TV. So many hours of frustration running up and down the stairs to troubleshoot. No wonder everyone prefers xcloud!

I want to like this app. It has vastly improved from when it started. However, I have had multiple times where i play a game, some kind of network error occurs on the streaming device (phone in this case), but my PC keeps on playing the game and this app wont reconnect, leaving my game running on my pc. This is very annoying when i am using steam link during travel and have no way to remedy my physical computer. This app wont really be functional or useful until it can fix this issue.

App is honestly really decent. 5/5 stars if there was an option to permanently turn on screen overlay (so it doesn't time out) when I'm using a controller. Please please please change this. Having to touch the screen periodically is really distracting.

Used to work fantastic was able to play all the games from my PC to my phone without any hassle. Ever since this new update I've been having the worst experience on steam link mobile/tv app. I've been getting bandwidth inconsistencies, random latency, choppy audio Even my streaming device hardwired along with my PC; if steam link reads your bandwidth at 1 mb per second it caps itself at 1 megabit per second. I have 150 MBs and I'm lucky if I get a reading for it to lock on to.

One odd thing I found: New Chromecast with Android TV, hooked to a USB dongle with proper amount of power. Steam controller dongle plugged into the Hub. The steam controller was not recognized by the software as an available controller but android knew it was there and asks to give the app permission to use it. Would rather use the dongle instead of the bluetooth connection.

I love it because it will let you play any game on your phone your TV your tablet or your ipod it all works well for me and I hope you like it too. One thing that I didn't really like was that there was lag so make sure that you have it by your device and you have a internet cord but everything else is not that bad I give it 10 out of 11
