    Very good, but no landscape mode when used on tablet. Another gripe is that notifications that are read do not sync on a second device. Excellent bank though! Update: After response from starling. I mention notifications, NOT transactions. As stated, but for clarification, if using a second device (tablet) reading a NOTIFICATION on one will not clear on the second . Also , an in-app historical list of notifications would be nice .

    Overall a pretty great banking app. I do wish the Android app home page would allow scrolling straight down into the transaction list, instead of requiring a separate button - I don't find the home page visualisation that useful, and would rather just see my transactions by default. Also would be great to have the joint account card be a different colour than the main card.

    So pleased I moved to them. The app is fast and straightforward. No need to set up a savings account you just set up a Space (name the space holiday or new car) and move money to it even get it to round all purchases up to the nearest pound and add that money to your Space. Making saving up for stuff so easy. I had a problem and the contact part of the app which takes you straight to a human and they get it all sorted.

    Update: the side menu no longer jitters! Thanks for fixing it. My switch from Barclays was so easy too, it didn't require any input from me at all after the initial instruction. The switch status in Account Management is accessible any time, and you're even given a date for when it will be completed. Side menu jitters when expanded on the in-app home screen. Phone is Galaxy S10. Does not occur on other screens in-app. It's a small thing so will leave 5*. Looking forward to using the app more.

    Lovely UI, best of any banking app I've ever used. Option to pay in cash at Post Office / cheques by taking a photo is amazing. Would be perfect if it had better budgeting features (Monzo has '£___ left for __ days' and separate budgets), and you could do fingerprint ID instead of typing in password to add/edit payee.

    A great app from a great bank. A few text alignment issues here at there; however, not a huge issue. In the Spaces part of the app I would like to have the option of specifying the total I want to put aside in the space rather than just adding money. Also, would be great to have a dedicated Bills space so DDs and SOs can be taken specifically from there. Kite cards could also benefit from their own sort code and account number so relatives can send money directly into children's accounts.

    Joined after recommendation and not disappointed. Best thing I can say is that it all just works... seamlessly. Good level of notifications, love the Spaces (for budgeting its a game changer) and never had an issue with the app itself. Keep up the great work, and am looking forward to the next innovation.

    Your can trust Starling... To get it wrong! Really suboptimal app. Making international payments can take your most of a day, as the app gives you no guidance or narrative. Getting hold of a customer service rep through the app? Slow, and they can't fix things. Took me 5 attempts to contact them (they were supposed to be getting back to me after attempt 3). Stock with the oligopolists. There is a reason why they are called challengers. They challenge your patience and time!

    Best bank ever had, couldn't ask for more, everything is so simple and easy to use. Everything is visible and the instant notifications are superb. The only thing I would add is the spaces connected card should be a different colour card in my opinion that was you can easily identify in my wallet. However that's just personal choice.

    Extremely easy to use. No downtime. No unnecessary intrusion. It has transformed the way I bank. If you are looking for a business bank account, I MUST say that 'Starling Bank' is the best option. Both in terms of service and charges (where applicable).

    Everything is fabulous except that in London the use of card for Tfl it will charge you after 2 days and it confusing .it charge £0.10 when you swipe at entrance and then 3,4,5 days later they take the money for that travel. And it may take you for 2 or 3 days and I don't know how much and if is the correct amount. I don't know if is Tfl fault or Starling Bank I use Samsung Pay with the same card and is same problem.

    Is nice clean interface. Easy to use. The spaces are fab and is why we picked Starling as similar to N26. Can do internal saving but putting money into your saving spaces! The downside is you can't see a running total when you if I put 100 into the account it tells me I have 254 but I have to work out that previously I had 154. Would prefer it to do the maths next to each transaction lile N26 does.

    Classic bait-&-switch! They make you install their app, create login details, etc, before telling you you can't get an account. To be clear - this isn't about not qualifying for an account (I do), it is about not making the criteria/paperwork requirements clear up front. And *especially* not before forcing me to create a user profile with them!

    So simple to use only downfall is having to pay a cheque in over £500 has to be sent by post. Any under is banked within the app. Best banking system I have ever used. I switched from lloyds bank never looked back fantastic bank. Cash can be paid in via the post office. Used last year travelled to Southern Spain by car through France no problems at all. And that was spending 2 months abroad.

    Cant even set up an account on Chrome OS... Why would you make an app to work on the chromebooks only to insist that it use a rear facing camera that isnt on any of them? i would love to get into the app to try and make use of its claimed features but you shouldnt be getting hit with a road block before you even get to the account screen.

    Browser-based banking for personal customers is live! Absolutely marvellous. Starling is now officially our primary bank :) Debit orders, standing orders and salary have all been switched over to our joint account. An ethical, modern, principled bank. Love it!     I highly recommend Starling, both as a platform/bank AND as an app! The app is really well designed, much better than those boomer interfaces brought by the main high street banks like Lloyd's or NatWest, and the bank seems like it's doing something different than all the other pre-established banks! Highly recommended for everyone!

    Absolutely amazing. Helps me so much with my budgeting and keeping track of my money. I get notifications when money goes out whether that's direct debits or myself spending money. Also when money comes in, I get a notification. I absolutely love it!! Couldnt recommend a better bank.

    I have not long switched to Starling, but the difference between Starling and my old bank is it is a lot faster and easier to manage. I would be happy to recommend Starling to anyone else. I will rate again when I have been here much longer for full review, but I can't see any faults thus far.

    I love their services. Never had any security suspicions. Easy to contact when needed. No need for appointments on top of appointments and piles of documents. Just what is necessary for real and that's it. The bank in my phone is all I really need.

    fantastic. easy to join. easy to use. iv had an account for allmost a year now and have had no problems at all. i 1have had to contact them today for first time "due to my own ignorance" and got straight threw, there telehandler was very polite and was able to talk me threw what to do and was sorted in less than 2 minutes.

    Recently moved from Barclays and the move was seamless. Love the app and the fact it works with Google Pay where as Barclays doesn't. Since all the high street branches have shut the future is online. Also I loved the easeof opening an account. My wife, son and his girlfriend have also done the switch.

    Easy set up of business bank account, no fees, great app. What more do you need from a banking app? Puts the old banks to shame and had a wealth of reports available that are ready to export, as well as tying up with other apps

    No instant saving account for businesses Just wondering why there is no instant access savings account for businesses. Businesses would certainly put more money than personal bank account holders, and this should be good reason for you to provide that service. Else they will move money to other savings account.

    Great to have my business banking in the 21st century unlike a major high street competitor I have been using. It would be good if the summary pie chart had a toggle for named descriptions as I don't think the icons are hugely identifiable.

    I loved this app and Starling. However, having just upgraded from Galaxy 8 to Galaxy 10, I can get no further than the security video. When it's submitted the whole app locks. Cannot access my accounts. Help please!!

    Very good, Easy to use, all you need, hopefully you will be able to pay cheques in via the app as do with other bank apps. Now the Cheque imaging has been included in the app what more could you ask for. (Except a free credit of course lol)

    Very poor app..on business account opening page it asked for question relating to business to which it was not allowing to enter any information If you are online only bank then you better get your online presence correct. Will go to brick and mortar bank now.

    Very disappointing that, despite company literature saying it supports Google pay, it doesn't. I have used Google pay contactless on my phone a lot during the pandemic and very surprised to be told I can't use it with my new Starling account.

    I don't trust my phone. I want a way to log out of the app so that when I log in I have to do more than use my fingerprint (which someone could force me to do if they mug me). I tried deleting the app and needed to go through full security including uploading a video. There should be a middle ground, or better yet allow accessing the web site without needing the app to log in

    I would give it Negative Stars if I could. I've been with starling coming on 2 years and now I've had my account restricted and I've also read other reviews with the same. My money cannot be touched until they are done and it's been 4 days already and still no update it's an absolute joke

    I absolutely loved this app. I moved over from Revolut Becausr the setup is so much cleaner. It would have gotten 5 stars until now. My account is restricted for who knows how long, nobody can give me an answer. I can not access ANY of my money. My money would therefore have been safe in a tin under my bed, since I no longer receive any interest from the bank anyway. Unacceptable. I will be moving to another bank as soon as my money is released back to me.

    The app itself has a very clear and logical layout and I've never seen so many security features which are not showing you down. The fact you can connect geo location of your phone to the debit card when you're physically use it is just brilliant as it means you don't have to worry that someone else would use it contactless on case is lost. Also the customer service is very helpful and really is trying to resolve any problems you may experience. No wonder it's been voted the bank of the year!

    I have just moved to Starling and I am already so impressed with the ease of banking with them using the app. I love the "spaces" in accounts where you can transfer money to save for something. Also that cheques can be photographed to pay them in. So easy - fantastic! Any calls to them have been answered quickly by a human. Can't fault them so far.

    Does what it says on the tin and easy to use. I have two suggestions for improvement: (1) either add a sign-off key or make sure app is locked when in background. I've been able to navigate away or even lock the phone and app is still open when I navigate back. Other banking apps work fine so this is Starling-specific. (2). Provide a way to download transactions in QIF format and for any period, not just as a statement. If QIF not possible, use something I could easily convert to QIF

    When it works it works. Nice slick app. When the software is buggy you're stuck in customer service hell. In trying to switch from Santander, Starling apparently sent them the wrong details. Switch rejected. Despite explaining several times to customer service how the details being sent were wrong, all I got back was requests that I sort it out with Santander and claims that they didn't know why Santander had rejected it (apparently they didn't read my explanations).

    Really like this app, love that you can create spaces and budget easily. The only improvements would be it needs to be made easier/clearer how to set up a new payee, had to Google it as it wasn't obvious. I also would really like them to change how spending is displayed so that it appears like a more traditional bank statement with the dates clearly labelled so I can see what went out on which days as currently you have to click into transactions which I don't really like.

    This app is so easy to use, far better than my Santander online banking. The only thing I can complain about is that I can't 'pay at pump' in the petrol station but that's hardly a hardship. I can freely transfer money back and forth between different banks, make payments and have little pockets of money in the spaces provided. I really love it.

    Good, as it should be. Immediate notifications; a little tricky to navigate around the account site and doesn't quite express the financial position that you may be used to: it takes a bit of time to get your head around it. No missing payments or cock-ups yet but I haven't used Starling via the P.O. yet. Now there could be a joy to behold. We travel to Serbia- outside the EU- the possible mishaps might be drawing local currency out of "banking hours" at the weekends if you read the small print.

    Great app and great service from a bank. It would be 5 stars but it has a key feature missing that I struggle to live without - being able to see a running total of your total balance. It only shows incoming and outgoing and doesnt show how that changed your overall balance. It might be trivial but I wanted to know how much I HAD! I did put a feature request in and they said they'd pass it onto the devs but I'm guessing they have bigger fish to fry 😕

    Easy to use, intuitive U.I. Have used it to convert £ into € with no problems when abroad. Turning card on/off function is handy dandy option if like me you lose your card every other day! The option to put a bit of change into a savings account is a fantastic way to stash some cash as I don't notice it when spending and it soon adds up 😁 All in all a good app for a good bank. Recommended 👍

    Easy to use app. I love that it notifies me on my phone emediately whenever I spend or receive money. Couple of things could be improved. It would be very helpful if on the Spending tab I could see, besides income and spending for the given month, the amount that was left on the account from the previous month. Also the locations for some merchants are not accurate, spending was in Serbia and in the app it says France.. . When I tried to improve the location it couldn't find it... Thanks!

    Excellent bank and app. I switched after being with First Direct for 20+ years. The app and bank has lots of user friendly features. The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't show a running balance so if I want to reconcile my account I have to download the statement, it would be so much easier if the transaction page had the account balance after each transaction. Overall though a great app and service.

    It's a great banking app - very quick and self-explanatory. However, it is frustrating that the bank decides whether my pound or euro account will be used based on the currency - why doesn't it just withdraw the transaction wherever there are enough funds? I'm under the impression that declined transactions mess with your credit score, which just isn't fair if there are sufficient funds on one of my accounts. There should be an option to choose which one to use for the upcoming transaction.

    I have been using starling for almost a year now. I have completely transferred all of my current accounting for home and business and I am really happy with the experience. Management of all my accounts and money is really easy with the ability to switch in-app and transfer between my own accounts with ease. The one thing I really like is the 'spaces' facility. The only thing that would make it better is if I could access my personal account through a PC browser rather than just mobile.

    Only gripes are inability to turn sole account into joint (can only create new), running balance not showing alongside transactions (without viewing full PDF statement) and no option for custom spending categories. After 7 years switched from TSB (endlessly crashing app, never ending bugs) and only wished I'd done it sooner.. difference is night and day. Overall super impressed with Starling (both tel/In app support + app itself).

To me this would be more useful than showing summary of daily transactions. If you want to know what your balance was same day previous month you need a calculator !

The nonsense us that if someone wants to pay £100, I have to ask for 2 cheques of £50 so I can bank them by photographing them and not having to bother with the royal mail. So at present we use electronic transfers but snail mail for higher value cheques. Hmmm

A little trouble receiving SEPA payments but all the rest is perfect. Also you can only withdraw 300£ per day.     Super easy banking. Made the switch from HSBC and have both business and personal accounts with Starling now. The only slight issue I have is with account names, some other banks don't accept my t/a name as the business account name so customers have to use my personal name when paying in; also on my personal account, it's strictly only my exact name and not my shortened name. It would be good if you could specify a commonly used shortened name for people to make payments to.

It's annoying the pots you save into come out the main account as the figure before saving is added on as it's not clear what is leaving your account. Not always getting it right when I add the category of spending and choose always, it doesn't remember this. But every other feature is brilliant even the few pence interest every month.

I've tried to use their 24hr helpline as it's first time I've needed it and the lady on the other end is very unhelpful. And I started off so satisfied with this bank....     So simple and clear. Easy to manage. Notifications come through to my phone in real time as I withdraw money or spend online. I was drawn to starting for the non transaction fees abroad and I'm so happy I chose them. On the whole a super set up, matching any other bank and yet they're not the faceless evil of your high street bank. Like their image the customer care and communications are always friendly yet super competent. Dare I say I nice bank!

    I've had more than 3 times bad experience with 3d code, every time I enter the code when I want to pay something on line it keeps telling me that its invalid code and yet am using two mobiles so that I won't delay as the number keeps changing every few seconds, why can't one choose either to have ,in the way I can disable it by myself on the app.....plse solve this issue of 3d code....thanks
