Have the physical game as well and this is great when I'm waiting around somewhere. Game feature solo against AI and a campaign mode. AI is hit or miss on hard mode, though. Sometimes it'll do 60 damage in a turn unexpectedly, but sometimes it'll just throw the game. Online features have a 48hr turn mode so you can play at your leisure, but also feature a real time mode. The arena is real-time, but you earn credits to purchase foil cards. I'm also addicted to this game now.

Fantastic game. The tabletop card game this is based on is excellent, and this is a faithful, well done adaptation. The free version, which includes play against the AI, is quite good -- kept me happy for a long time. I got so much it of it that I was more than happy to kick in a few bucks for the paid version, which allows online play. I've since bought a few of the expansions too. No pay-to-win. Great game.

I was really enjoying this game (1st chapter - 6 free missions) and would have been willing to pay to unlock it, but they make you pay to unlock each chapter after that, and there are 21. I would have happily paid $5, reluctantly paid $10, but there is no way I'm paying upwards of $100 for the full game.

The physical card game is fantastic, but this digital version is isn't. The game cheats. Example, I was facing an AI and it purchased a starbase with a cost of 7 credits.....ON ITS SECOND TURN. No bonus abilities, no Gambits, just basic Scouts. I assume a bug, but this sort of thing happens far too often. The game will even do things like allow the AI to kill you, even if its damage count for the turn is many points away from what it needs. Really needs patched. Loved it until now.

Card Filtering game at its core. Battery friendly, old device friendly, online and off playmodes. I'll update after I dive into the cost model. No FTP in this game it's just *buy an expansion.* This is fine, but bundle old releases after (x) years to make it friendlier for new players.

The RNG is fine. This is a hard game to master. Don't listen to the haters. On the other hand I'm not paying $5 to unlock parts of this game I haven't seen. I had to Google what half of the missions mean in story mode to get 3 stars. There's no visible turn counter. This looks like it was designed by game designers and not UI designers. Gamers in paper are different than casual phone users. They don't already know how to play. They aren't already rules heavy nerds.

Love it all in all. Not as nostalgic as the actual deck but enough to get your fix. I just wish there was some form of minor communication between the opponents during a match. Like how great would it be if you could display a little GG emoji after or during a match? Or having an 8-bit version of the classic Piccard face palm when someone realizes their own mistake. Or a little Galega looking ship that explodes, to display after a hard hitting combo has been dealt etc. Hope this comes true!

Star realms is a great card game and the app is really well implemented. I encourage everyone to jump in and give it a try. Occassionally luck or unluck bites you, but generslly this is a great strategy game. It is definitely worth paying for the AI upgrade as well as buying the Frontiers and the colony wars expansions. My only gripe was that kickstarter supporters of the card game didn't get an upgrade code for the app. Love this game.

Really solid game. Just deep enough but still a light game. Edit: unable to connect to servers now. Last two times I tried to play I got into a game and then it hung up. Tried on data and wifi, so I know it's not a me issue. It's not worth free if you can't play online.

The game itself is fun, has modes and campaigns which I like. The problem is it doesn't sign in for me. Every time I try, it comes up with an error. And it doesn't save my progress in any of the campaigns, so as a completionist it makes it a huge and infuriating issue.
