NEC’s UNIVERGE ST500 softphones for Android smartphones allow you to make and receive calls from virtually anywhere, as if you were at your desk. While in the office connect to the Wi-Fi to handle your calls. While outside the office you can use your mobile data (3G / 4G) to handle you calls, and you can reduce incurring mobile call costs (See Notes below).

Deploying a ST softphone can save your company money by no longer having employees call-forward their desk phones to their mobile. Staff will also be able to make free internal calls and inexpensive local calls from the softphone rather than all calls being made directly from their mobile phone.

By only giving out your desk phone number (not your mobile number), you will always be contactable and you will only have a single call history and work voicemail to check. The ST500 simplifies your communications.

THE ST500 is free to use on your NEC Phone systems (SL2100, SV9100, SV9300 or SV9500), but requires an activation code that you can obtain from your NEC representative. It may also requires spare licences capacity on your phone system to create a standard SIP extension.

    App does not work on Telstra network, A big reason we invested in the SV9100 was the functionality that was to be provided with this app. Have waited over 6 months for this issue to be resolved with Telstra and NEC. Do not invest in NEC hardware. Save your money and look at the other options in the market. Sick and tired of hearing it's an issue with Telstra or NEC. These are multi billion dollar companies who specialise in communications and yet they can't resolve a simple issue.

    Feature set works well (transfer, hold, calling) with the SV9100 (CP20); having got to grips with the TLS configuration, I've also got it functioning over 4G as well as WiFI. The other thing to note - in the profile, you can set the app to use Mobile/Wifi/Any, Unfortunately, the ANY category should be rewritten as EITHER as you cannot call out when the phone is connected via Ethernet. It registers OK when connected via Ethernet but gives a Dial Error on outgoing calls and "SIP Out of Range" error if called from another device on the same PBX.

    Extremely concerning uncompromisable permissions required by this app. It requires access to location information (yes, I know this could just be Wi-Fi info), requires to be running in the background at all times, access to your contacts, access to your files, and record audio. Denying any one of these will not allow you to use the app. This is a tough pill to swallow concerning there are much more reliable and less intrusive options available. Uninstalled. Be more transparent in your needs.

    Way below standard for such a big company. Battery drains in minutes if left on and no option for optimization. Very basic in general with limited usability. Very little functions in the app that are useful. Contact do not sync via app so to be able to have the conatct of clients of the company these have to manually be uploaded to the mobile handset and that mixes these with the private contacts of the mobile handset!!! Not very practical system and very old fashion.

    Could not set up the st500 app on Telstra Essential Smart. When it gets to Allow/Deny of the Do Not Disturn option, it stops and displays "This feature is not available on this device". The mobile is new and has the DND feature. I updated the system software, checked any features that could potentially be an issue, restarted mobile, deleted app and downloaded app again. The result did not change. Very disappointing as I purchased this mobile just to use this app for work.

    I have held off writing a review for months to see if the issues can be fixed. Updated review - to credit have fixed WiFi. However still drops calls as certificate issues. Permissions horrible with no explanation. Horrible UI. Won't connect over wi-fi (I'll repeat that as it's so ridiculous for its purpose)

    Avoid at all costs, this app will take all your contacts, location data, and as much access to everything on your phone as possible. If I'd known this beforehand I would not have purchased a licence! This is ONLY supposed to be VoIP software!

    App does what it is supposed to. Would award an additional star if it had a dark mode/theme. Would award another star if the caller ID number was larger. Quite often you need to read it from a distance.

    I bought license at first only 1 using Xiaomi 6A and it work, then I bought another 6 licenses using in Xiaomi Redmi 7A and it work too.. But then I bought 12 licenses using Xiaomi Redmi 7A.. I can't use it the app only connecting even i tried using old android version or new android version.. the different only the version of this app now.. Where i can get previous version of this App? 4.3.9.6 It will be appreciated if NEC can provide a download link for previous version.
