New: We partnered with Google to bring incredibly fast, low-latency ink to Squid on the Google Pixelbook and Samsung Chromebook Plus (with Chrome 62). See the difference: https://youtu.be/Oc66T_e7xwU

Take handwritten notes naturally on your Android tablet, phone, or Chromebook supporting Android apps! With Squid you can write just like you would on paper using an active pen, passive stylus, or your finger.

Easily markup PDFs to fill out forms, edit/grade papers, or sign documents. Import images, draw shapes, and add typed text to your notes. Quickly select, copy/paste, and move content between pages and notes. Organize your notes within notebooks and increase your productivity!

Turn your device into a virtual whiteboard or give presentations in a class, meeting, or conference by wirelessly casting to a TV/projector (e.g. using Miracast, Chromecast). Export notes as PDFs or images, then share them with others or store them in the cloud!

Squid is vector based - keeping your notes beautiful at any zoom level and on any device. You can erase entire letters and words quickly with the stroke eraser tool, or just parts of words with the true eraser tool. The selection tool allows you to change the color and thickness of your handwriting and even resize a drawing whenever you want without any loss in quality.

Squid takes special advantage of active pens on capable devices to provide natural, pressure sensitive handwriting. Just write with the pen and erase with your finger!

Squid is designed to be both powerful and simple to use, allowing you to take notes quickly and efficiently.

No more than five stars possible? This app gets 125! I can write with my finger in colorful fun, and as wide--or narrow--as I like. As a writer, this gives me the freedom to express myself ~ whether high or low, just a list or screaming on the page. With my tablet often at hand, I can take notes at an appointment; for the past 11 months, this has been crucial. My husband had a stroke, so I am his memory. Being able to record notes has been such help! It is my favorite and never lets me down!

The app is pretty good for taking notes on. The higlighter tool is a little bit hard to use, but the main problem that I have been having is that the app crashes very often. When I use it in class, I often fall behind due to the app freezing, then crashing.

I use this app 7 days a week to do timecards, collaborate with customers and office personnel. One little issue that seems to be intermittent is being able to change color of text. I use the app on a note 9 and Chromebook flex-5 and both have this issue, both are subscribed to premium features which is a killer deal for what you get. It would be nice to figure out. -Electrician

I've only had the app for a few days and so far I'm loving it. Using for bullet journaling and writing family history pages. Love that I can type or write, draw and add images. It's easy to use app and I love the templates.

Like the app. Have it set to auto open when I remove my stylus from my Moto 5G. The interface for creating files and viewing the contents is awkward. Too many steps. Drag and drop would be much more efficient and intuitive while using a stylus.

just switched from paper to digital note taking and squid is perfect. I use it for so many things now -- school, bullet journaling, art. it has so many capabilities while still being streamlined. I find other popular note apps to be overwhelming. just wish palm rejection was a bit better - I'm a lefty and often my page scrolls all over the place when I move/replace my writing hand on the screen.

Local functionality and usage is wonderful, but the lack of true cloud sync across devices is inexcusable in a paid app. Cloud backup provided is better than nothing, but moving between devices is time consuming and cumbersome if one doesn't wish to lose data.

I love this app, I am a paying subscriber and I will continue to use it. However, I have been disappointed when I couldn't import my documents to my new device all at once. Edit: After reading the response, and being able to backup (from old) and restore my documents (to new device), I changed my rating to 5 stars. Thank you for the response.

love squid. I also use x journal or cursive but squid has backup to Google drive with a subscription (I have a subscription for $1 per month thanks to Chromebook perks). the only thing it's missing is to restore backups and sync to my other devices without deleting any of the different notes I've taken on each device. palm rejection and pen side button function could be better/added but I guess that's not squid's fault.

I really like this app. I've used it for college over the last few years and it's been amazing. The only downfall is that it's a monthly sub for extras in the app, which doesn't render the app useless. I especially like that there aren't ads. If there were, I wouldn't use this app at all. Edit: I'm upgrading my review to 5⭐, simply due to the fact that the dev responded. Thanks for caring about what the users have to say. Great app, keep it up.
