NO support for looping video as seen on the mobile app experience. PLEASE ADD.

Update: Spotify managed to solve most of my previous complaints and so I kept my paid membership. I'm still not happy with their interface, it feels dated and lacks features that dedicated podcasts apps have, however, I would have bumped my score up to 3/5 but in another massive fail, Spotify now feel justified in putting multiple ads into my podcast listening experience...isn't this the whole point of paying for membership Spotify? If I could rate them 0/5 I would. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Absolutely disgusted by the lack of effort put into podcasts! As far as a music streaming app it is solid for me and I was content, however, for podcasts it doesn't even come close to offering basic functionality found in pretty much every podcast app out there. As a regular Joe Rogan Experience listener/viewer I am now effectively not able to listen to this podcast in the multitude of basic ways I have been used to over many years. I have an Android car head unit that will not even play audio of the stream let alone video, my Galaxy S20 phone will stop playing after 10 mins of my screen being switched off, the video experience in the app is slow and buggy, and my NVIDIA Shield app cannot play video at all??? Crazy! Looks like you should have offered Joe a smaller amount and pumped some of those funds into development of the podcast side of your app. I really expected more than this buggy mess of a podcast implementation after the acquisition of one of the biggest podcasts out there (for now!). There has been ample time to address the basics like being able to play a video! I am looking into better alternatives now and will likely cancel my premium subscription because of this terrible experience and I would recommend others to save your money and do the same.

This app allows you to take your music and podcasts with you, but it's horrible at it. The user interface is far too busy, with functions that aren't useful for someone on the go. The buttons and icons don't have intuitive behaviors. Functions with no relationship are linked to a single click - e.g., if I download a podcast, it automatically adds it to some list called "Your Episodes". But I can't find where to view or manage Your Episodes. And paradoxically, when I delete a podcast from my device, the episode count on the Your Episodes list increments UP by one. It doesn't integrate well, or consistently, with the desktop or Chromecast apps. Sometimes I go from my apartment to my car and the mobile app picks up right where I left off on my desktop. Other times it automatically starts playing something altogether different, and not of my choosing. The app also tries to do too many things on its own. In the car, get home, hit pause, turn down the volume so it doesn't scare me next time, and the damn app starts playing again, because apparently turning the volume down means, "Start playing again." "Offline Mode" seems to play content that I know I haven't downloaded locally. How is it doing that? Whose data limits are being burned? The end user certainly doesn't know, because nothing is intuitive, labeled properly, or meaningful. I tolerate the app because I have the service. But it's a horrible, horrible app.

What have you done to podcast playback? It used to respond to seek/reverse seek controls by invoking the 15s forward/back behavior. Now it invokes next-track/previous-track instead. Makes it much less useful as a podcast app.

Absolutely ZERO options. No normalization. No downloading. No shuffle. No quality settings. No equalizer. Nothing. NO OPTIONS WHATSOEVER. One of the crappiest Android TV apps I've run across.

The biggest issue (and the reason for the 3 stars) is that artists and albums in the library aren't sorted alphabetically, which makes the library pretty useless. You'll likely just need to search any time you want to find something if you have more than 20 or so artists in your library. Also, this, like every other Android TV music app, is a dumbed-down version of the Android app, so don't get your hopes too high. That being said, this one is better than most of the rest (Tidal, Google Play Music, Youtube Music, etc). The "connect" feature is terrific, and something other services could learn from. Now if Spotify will only get on board with lossless audio. 2017 NVIDIA Shield TV

Lacking basic functionality such as radio stations. I don't want to control the app from my phone. I want all the same functionality I have with the web and regular Android app. Play Music was able to do this. We use Android TV connected to a receiver to listen to music throughout our house and the family needs to be able control it without me having to be there with my phone. I was really hoping this would be a good replacement for Google Play Music, but it is not. Regretting signing up for premium and will be canceling now.

Disappointed in their Android TV implementation. It lacks many features that could have easily been included from the regular Android app. One of the most annoying things about the Android TV implementation is that "Now Playing" disappears, if you happen to put the music on pause and switch to another app, when you switch back to Spotify, "Now Playing" is gone and you've lost your place. This is something that would be really easy to fix.

Have dropped to one star, as Android TV app is terrible and they seem to do nothing to correct it. Lock ups ruin it and make it unusable. Like the app when it works. Don't know if it is a recent update, or what, but it locks up on every use and will not respond to any commands. Clearing the cache didn't work, nor did uninstalling and re-installing the app. Hope they can fix this, as it didn't happen in the beginning. TV is Sony XBR-X930C.

The app is great but the performance is very poor. It hangs the TV so bad I usually need to remove the power cable in order to restart it. The more songs you play, the worse the performance gets. While you are in the app you can barely notice it, but once you try to start another app, the TV dies. Other than this it's very cool to be able to play music on TV.
