I have been using this app for many years. Used it to track runs, hikes, kayaking trips, etc. The GPS accuracy is outstanding. The ability to export GPX info is great too. The only annoying thing is the constant requests for info and setting changes when you start it lol. And! They never change it! I'm so glad there's finally an app that works and then they leave it alone! Thank you thank you! 😊

apk Great running app which I've been using for almost 2 years. There are no adds which is great. GPS accuracy also seems to be really good. I use this app simultaneously with Garmin Connect to act as a backup. I also really like the map summary at the end of a run; it is super easy to share my accomplishments with friends. Only thing I don't like about this app is that you can't buy the full version which supports gear tracking, you can only pay a monthly subscription for it. Overall recommended!

  3. John James-avatar

    John James

First time using. I like that it shows you the speed like a treadmill. Helps to push yourself from landmark to landmark.

  4. Abbo Peterson-avatar

    Abbo Peterson

The best of many similar apps I tried. Easy to use. Accurate. Full-featured. And I'm referring to the standard (free) version. Plus, the ads are thoughfully implemented and don't wreck the experience. There is no step tracking (like I wanted), but that's a small thing to give up for all this app offers. Definately worth a try.

  5. Dustin Dorflinger-avatar

    Dustin Dorflinger

The free version doesn't contain ads (so far), and performs the basic function of recording workouts. It includes speed, distance, elevation, and gps based map of where you exercised. You can also create your own interval training, as well as distance/duration/elevation/energy goals with the free version. Premium version is $1.5 and just allows you to use their equipment tracker, have an always on display, automatic pause feature, and ability to train using their 0-10k running plans.

  6. Deloris Tucker-avatar

    Deloris Tucker

Good app with lots of settings. Works well with pulse measurement belt. Things which I ask to improve: - targets like distance can be chosen, but only in big increments. E.g. I can choose between 12 and 14 km, but not 13 km. It would be best, if I could type in something like 1.5 km - there is a speed range option but the individual ranges cannot be chosen free, they are connected. Please allow it to the user to type in the values that he thinks are the best

  7. Gary Burrell-avatar

    Gary Burrell

After trying a few other tracking apps and not being impressed I found this one. At last an app that works well and does everything I want. Only issue is I cannot share data. I have tried sharing to virtually all the options but none work. I have changed every phone setting I can think may be the problem but still cannot share data. If anyone can help I would be grateful.

  8. Marc Micatka-avatar

Best running GPS app I've found after trying dozens. I love that it doesn't require an account or force you to upload GPS tracks online. Some small fixes would be appreciated. You cant change the audio alert frequency after a workout is started. A lap feature would be awesome. The heart rate input should be a text field, not a scroll that starts at 255. Reviewing workouts starts you at 0 lat, 0 long then zooms so you're always start somewhere over africa which is annoying.

  9. Roxanne Anderson-avatar

    Roxanne Anderson

I absolutely love this app. It keeps track of your exercises or movement very well. I use it all the time.

  10. Imran AU-avatar

    Imran AU

Tried first time this app, overall good. Would like see below LOCATION INTERVAL improvements to be used for me: - Include option to set TIME INTERVAL for GPS logging in seconds, preferably in milliseconds - Include the above in background GPS logging as well - Include GPS logging for every centimetre (users should choose every metre or every centimetre) - Option to see/change map projections/datums - Option to change the colour/width of track and marker Thank you

excellent all round app. does everything you want for wide variety of types of exercise. gives accurate mapping, distances, average speeds etc, marks (and tells you en-route) individual km waypoints. very pleased and far better than other similar trype apps I've tried before...update 2 years on...still first-rate!! No complaints, use it every day. Perfect

  12. Matty-avatar

Good app so far, no sign in needed and the free version is quite useful. It has accurate gps mapping of runs, walks, or cycling with personalized interval announcements of pace and distance. I really like it!

  14. Gabe Chong-avatar

Love it, except for one annoying thing - once you run the app, you can't get rid of it. Even when you close it, it lingers. Only way to end it is to restart the phone. That said, I'd recommend it.

  15. L Cz-avatar

    L Cz

Great app. My favourite feature: the multiple goal setting, which you don't get on Sports Tracker Running Cycling (or at least not on the free version) Obviously distance tracking only as good as your GPS/network connection allow, so you'll get differences for the same route, but these are minor...*once you remember to change your battery optimisation settings* (duh!) Thankfully the dev is responsive and patient 😅

  16. Becca Holland-avatar

    Becca Holland

Perfect I downloaded this app to track my horse riding activity (I had equilab premium but it kept stopping during rides and loosing my data) so far this app does exactly what it says on the tin and has behaved perfectly

  17. Mary Young-avatar

    Mary Young

  19. Smitty Johnson-avatar

    Smitty Johnson

Forget about the app everytime until I'm leaving and it picks up my car ride, which distorts all the data. It should have an option to remove this last bit to correct for the actually sports activity it should be recording

  20. Christopher Mcalhone-avatar

If you're looking for an accurate, no-frills running app, you've come to the right place. Deliberately designed to be stand-alone, without social media paraphernalia. On my first test outing this morning the GPS was spot on. Another major bonus is low power consumption, particularly compared to big name apps I have tried in the past.

Excellent app, extremely easy to use, great

  78. K Siragusa-avatar

    K Siragusa

Enjoy this app for tracking my progress in walking and biking distance. I used it for indoor on the spin bike, but the app could not or did not always register my pedals. I use this app more to keep track of my physical recovery from surgery to make sure I am progressing forward.

  79. Robert Crosby-avatar

    Robert Crosby

This app is extremely easy to use and it does everything I wanted to do. haven't tried the pay features yet, but I'm thinking about it. Even the free version is outstanding. A couple of other apps I tried were way too confusing. If you want something simple, I highly recommend this one!

  80. David Tysoe-avatar

    David Tysoe

Been looking for a no nonsense sports tracker and this fits the bill. As free, no accounts etc. Like the ability to see the details in the workout graphs. Only couple of (very minor) things. I'm never going to put my age etc in so the ability to turn that off would be nice and also to have averages recorded as well. Other than that spot on. Just realised it does display average speed.

  81. SueSuse V-avatar

    SueSuse V

After losing Endomondo to Under Armor corporate shenanigans, this is the best sports tracker I've been able to find. I still see some discrepancy with distance, but I'm okay with that because the other features are excellent.

  82. Joni Medina-avatar

    Joni Medina

Easy and quick way to log different types of workouts. Love that it gives an alert each mile with the average time. I use it instead of my fitbit which is not as accurate with bikes or rollerblading. The maps are accurate too!

  83. Ibrahim Hany-avatar

    Ibrahim Hany

I have been using this app for two weeks now. I tested it on the same route multiple times and it gives accurate estimates on distance and time. It's the best running tracking app I have tried so far.

  84. John Moore IV-avatar

    John Moore IV

Wouldn't start up.. reinstall, no backups. This sucks.

  85. Kate Convissor-avatar

    Kate Convissor

Very accurate because it uses GPS tracking. Easy to use. Doesn't drain the battery excessively. Gives me accurate, useful information about my workouts. (Not steps, which I find unhelpful)

  86. Charlie Carrington-avatar

    Charlie Carrington

Love this app. It is (almost) exactly what I was looking for. Here are a few of the features that I most appreciate. - There is no need to create an account, supply an email address, or "sign in with Google". It just starts up and runs. - The free version of the app has no ads. Repeat: the free version HAS NO ADS. - There is little to no social media BS. It's just a no nonsense GPS tracker. Apps like Strava seem to be *mostly* about social media engagement. - It has a highly configurable display with many options available through a straight forward, easy to navigate menu tree. - It uses a database called "Digital Elevation Model (DEM)" to record your elevation profile. It is far more accurate and repeatable than using GPS alone The only remotely negative thing I have to say about it is that it doesn't support landscape mode when viewing the maps and elevation profiles from your workouts. Portrait only. But that is also true of Endomondo, which is what I was using before. There's much more but suffice to say that the free version of this app is *far* superior than the paid version of Endomondo..

  87. Melaine Ringol-avatar

    Melaine Ringol

I use it for running. It tracks the time, distance, and pace. No fluff - no accounts to create, no ads. Suprised with the voice prompts every 1km I've reached. It does the job.

  88. wei-keong yeoh-avatar

    wei-keong yeoh

Consistent and I think accurate performance. I think additional features can be considered: a space to record experience and perhaps post a picture. I like the distance marker on the workout route. How would one use this app for swimming?

  89. Marcello Murru-avatar

    Marcello Murru

Good app. So far the best I tried. Quite reliable though altitude is somehow off. The colour coding of the pace on the map does not seem very accurate either. But overall I recommend it.

Fun to use...very motivating tracking my progress.

  91. Andras Z-avatar

    Andras Z

I'm a longtime user and am very happy with this app. It's free and ad-free!! GPS tracking is very accurate and certainly better than many other sports trackers (I've tested many, I'm a fanatic, believe me). Features are complete and easy to use, also for kids e.g. for school assignments (in distance learning!). Highly recommended! One feature I wish to have (but most other apps don't have either): to record manual lap times during workout (see Sports Tracker app by Amer Sports).

  92. Alison Mc-avatar

    Alison Mc

I like the way it tells you every mile and how fast you ran it and then your running total. I like playing my music while i am running and hearing the milage. Like the map and my progress history.

  93. MD PeeVee-avatar

    MD PeeVee

Have been using app for about two weeks. Runing from 3 to 15k. So far very happy. App works. Nice features. Some problems with GPS tracking seemed to disappear after I set setting for "GPS filter" to "strong". Takes two or three minutes to get signal, but that's not a problem. So far I am running through woods without leaf coverage. Let's see in the summer... Will be testing for some more time, but as now, it looks I will gladly purchase full version. Thanks developers :)

  94. Jonas Hedegaard-avatar

    Jonas Hedegaard

I really like the app, with 2 changes it would be a 5/5.: 1 - make the GPS signal status silent, I have changed the setting but to no effect. 2 - make the count down silent.

  95. Dan C-avatar

    Dan C

Great app works really well for me, been using for just over a week. As a free to use app I'm very impressed and like that I don't need to setup an online account. Tracking seems accurate. I updated the battery saver setting that can cause problems and all works well. Does what it says on the tin well. I'm sure the paid for version is worth the price for the extra features. Thank you to the developers.

  96. James Beard-avatar

    James Beard

Gives orientation as you go, plus pace, mileage, etc. Tracks walk much more exactly than Google Maps Time-line. That's when it is working. But with Android 10 on Samsung Galaxy S10, app constantly complains of loss of GPS signal (though it mostly continues to show your position on the map, and to store a good map of your route). There's a whole panoply of settings, but the user is left on his or her own to guess what they mean or how to choose. Frustrating!

  97. Andreas Grässer-avatar

    Andreas Grässer

Really great app. Please give us a one time payment premium option. I'd easily pay 10-20$ for it. But I'd never ever apply to a monthly subscription. Thanks

Been using this for over a year. Great for recording walks during lockdown and checking my increasing fitness level (useful for a 70 year old) can' rate it highly enough.

  99. Dave Medhurst-avatar

    Dave Medhurst

Great app! Simple, no ads and useful stats. Only minor niggle is that kcals shown seem too low...e.g 686 after a 7 mile walk at 4.5 miles/hr. Can developers explain how kcals are calculated in this app? Thanks.. otherwise it's fantastic 😆

  100. Charles Hirsch-avatar

    Charles Hirsch

Well designed app. Would be nice to show the time for each mile in one of the graphs. This would show the runner each mile split. Also, seems as though the algorithm for average pace is a bit off. I ran 3.216 miles with a time of 25.45 today and the app showed a pace of 8 minutes. Calculating this out 25.45/3.216 is 7.9135. As you can see this is not the 8 min average pace the app shows. Overall a wonderful app that is very user friendly.

Working great. Have only used Spor tractive for a couple of weeks but so far i am very happy with it. Update Dec 26, 2020. Now that I have been using this fitness app for several months, I can report that it is excellent. Zero issues, very intuitive to use, excellent statistics, details, and tracking with detailed mapping. Recommend highly.

Tried other activity logger apps and this is the best so far. Trying to find how to include max. speed in the summary, but not too fussed if that's the only omission.

  103. Adam Gorman-avatar

    Adam Gorman

Takes a little getting used to switching from endomondo but think this will be my regular app now, beats paying £50 for something that does basically the same thing and not as well in most cases. The GPS didnt seem accurate at first, had to make sure the app wasnt optimized and that the phone was set to 'high performance' before I set off each run and no problems since. Would love (and pay for) voice output for % of intervals, pace per intervals and better stats but overall great for free

I'm using this app just taken up jogging, gps is a very strong signal distance and miles are accurate I'd be lost without it..So if uve taken to exercise then download this app u won't be disappointed..😁

Useful, appears to be accurate. Lots of info. The only issue is that it requires A MONTHLY fee to have the auto pause feature. So I have been using RUNKEEPER (has free auto pause) instead although I like Sportactive interface better. I would be OK paying a small one time fee but not a monthly fee for just adding auto pause (hint...hint).

Just brilliant and doing only what I want it to do but very easily. No complicated set up and extremely easy to use. Highly Recommend it

I wanted to use it for the 1st time today. Just going for normal WALK... This app asks so many questions like "is the weather sunny or cloudy?" before you can get it to SIMPLY TRACK DISTANCE... I only wanted to GO and have it measure the distance I covered. All those questions... and the unintuitive controls, no START or GO button, make it more of an accounting app than a sport app. I will leave this for professional athletes and find myself something that offers easy distance tracking.

Can't really get started with this app because (like others) it does not support Android 11's background location permission. That means that as soon as the screen turns off, it stops tracking you with GPS. Non-starter.

Horrible. I downloaded the app and was all exicited. I clicked start. It said it began then when I finally finish and go to check it. It hadnt even been tracking/recording. Appears not to work unless youre holding it and making sure it is open. Kind of like youtube not playing music unless you habe it open and screen not resting.

Great app for tracking running! Especially appreciate that no account is required. Good visualizations of distance/pace/duration available on daily/weekly/monthly basis. Only wish there was some way to stop the workout when the screen is locked.

One major fault .you cant edit the workout time when you're finished so you would have to carry your phone in your hand on a run to get the correct finish time. so a good accurate tracker is a waste of time because the finish time cant be edited.

So I'm not really sure how this app is different from a simple stop watch? Gave me the option to choose indoor cycling, I started the workout and it counted the time lapsed. I could have done it by, hmm, idk, LOOKING AT MY WATCH?! No distance, no speed, no nothing. It asked for height/weight/age to calculate energy then calculated nothing. In the workout session it asks for manual input of the distance completed. Well that's why I downloaded it so it tracks the distance and informs me..🤦🤦🤦🤦
