Reviews From google play store

The best file manager app out there. After years of extensive use I am certain that there is no match to this app's UI, features and lots of little conveniences packed with every feature. I tried ES File Explorer, FX FE, Root Browser and many more, but this app was and still is the best option. (Even without FTP - which is the only downside. Luckily I got it in Xiaomi's native file manager)

Used it since froyo HTC desire, been on every device since. Great for multiple attached storage (sd card, usb otg and amazingly network smb). Highly recommended, no ads, updated as needed, nice and clean interface.

Has been an excellent app.Always one of the first installs. Paid for it back in 2013 I believe and its always been worth it!

This was the most amazing file manager back in October 2012, and it is STILL the best file manager and has only gotten better. One of the few remaining apps that didn't sellout from the good old days!

after updating from the version 4.4.1.... it has become useless..some problem to move or copy goods..does not open the root folder Galaxy Note 8 no root

So far so good.. extremely useful, and user friendly. i am still exploring more in the application and learning as i realised details and knowledge in utilizing this app seems to be never ending.

This app worked (with limited functionality) on unrooted devices quite well for a long time, but this is no longer the case.

Best file explorer. Even for people with no root and super powerful for those with.

Been using it for years. If you root your phone this is one of the must have apps, Only thing I wish it would work with are external drives. Works with sd cards though,

Finally a fully functional root browser that has a clean, and easy to use UI! Really worth the few bucks.

After update crashes on opening Galaxy Note 4 Have used the Pro for years on various devices. Fix and will adjust rating accordingly.

Excellent tool, have used it for years with no problems.

the greatest file (root) explorer that has ever been developed. the only one any power user ever needs.

One of the first app I've ever installed on recommend by XDA on my 1st Android phone, the Galaxy SII, MANY years ago. It's proven to be one of my core apps I use daily. Very reliable & useful. I still use it on my current phone, the Kyocera Duraforce Pro, even tho its impossible to root (no thanks to the morons @ Kyo). Latest update has resolved my one minor issue, the inability to remember where in a folder with lots of files I was at when returning to that folder. Thank you very much!

just want to clarify for people looking to get access to root folders on their phone withiut rooting your phone, this app will NOT work for you. It says you must root your phone to access those folders. Could be a great app but i was hoping it would allow access to those folders so not for me.

This was my first purchased application, since Android cupcake or something like that- and is the first app I install on any device after rooting or flashing ROM. Sure, there are many file explorers out there, some much fancier which I also use, but when need to manipulate root folders, change permissions etc. there is none better than this reliable app!

although it might be because of my device ( android ) but it didn't let me root anything which made me quiet sad. but if you have an IOS or a pc then it might work amazingly but with me it didn't work at all....

ive had this app for years. it's always been good software. this loses a star because as far as I can tell once you initiate a transfer and minimize the progress screen there's no way to get it back even by tapping on the notification that there's a background operation in progress. so you never get to see how far along the transfer is.

This is probably the very best file-manager program out there. I can't think of a feature I wanted that it didn't have, including nearly all of Unix' cp, mv, find, chmod, tar, ln -s, and so on. Even if your device isn't rooted, it's useful in the parts of the filesystem you can get to (including sdcard and mounted USB sticks). Good medicine!

Best app. But it seems that it is struggling with portable SD, sometimes it complains about access rights, but all access rights were given. Using AOSP 9

Just paid for the app. And it's useless. It doesn't even recognize root files on Xperia Z2 android 6.1, which Solid Explorer (free) does perfectly

Used app for years own the pro version or what ever dev calls the paid version. Last update broke everything. I used it o scan my archives with out having to extract. now have to extract whole archives. Wouldn't have made them so big if I new his app was going to fail me. changed review do to really fast personal response by developers and was promised problem should be addressed next update. crossing fingers.

This excellent file manager has it all, EXCEPT "pull down to refresh" (as many other reviewers have pointed out). It is about time this standard feature is incorporated into the app! It is tideous and clunky to have to reach for the top right corner and press twice to refresh a folder.

I've been using Root Explorer since the beginning, from file sharing, to unzipping, to copy/pasting files, to edit txt files, to open as test, to modify system files and set back correct permission, to sort files from most recent... there's nothing you cannot do Root Explorer on your device.

Among the best in the past. But broke down recently. Problems in: 1. Scrolling through photos. 2. Zip file. Other recommendation: Let the tab stay in place when pressing back button, I.e. not go back to root folder.

Recently I have noticed that I can not attach files to emails any more. It used to work so must be due to the recent updates. I had to install an alternative file manager to make it work. I hope that you can fix this issue.

Some from latest versions broke ability to view files content inside archive without explicit extracting file. For example, earlier I can click a zip archive - it is opened, click a txt file in archive - it is opened in a text viewer. Now - error FileNotFoundException ENOENT.

When opening files that require root through Root Explorer, using other apps (QuickEdit Text Editor), it says " open failed: EACCES (Permission denied)". When opening the same file through other file managers like total commander, no exception occurs and I can open the file in QuickEdit.

Has been my file explorer for several years now. However, after the recent 10-22-18 update, the app FC's when trying to enter my bookmarks or root partition. Pixel 2 xl on 9.0. Hopefully a fix is found soon. Thank you.

Best root file manager, tried plenty of others but this one has been the most reliable for over 5 years. One of the first apps I install on a new device.

Even the free version is amazing! How you can be a root user and not use this app I don't know...gods bless you devs! Still the best!

I enjoy using root explorer. I find the configuration of features effective for easy manipulation of the file system. I think that the GUI could benefit from improvement.

I've been using Root Explorer for many years and have never had a single issue. It has always been, and remains, the only File Browser i will ever need on Android.

A little too feature-heavy and unfocused, but generally good. Deleting or moving many files is much slower than with a command-line app.

Very nice app for digging deep into your phone. Great part of a tool set, for finding and yanking outthe bloatware and un needed garbage service providers and Google stick on the users phone.

** UPDATE 1/2/19 ** Fixed issues with scrolling pictures, but folders with .nomedia files don't work, they did in the past.

The best file manager for Android ever! Allowed me to accomplish in 5 minutes what I've been trying to do for months with 10 other close to useless apps.

My dropbox tab no longer works since the last update. I can see the files listed but can not open, copy, or move anything from within.

one of the recent updates broke the ability to scroll through pictures in a folder when opened from within the app

I still can't find a way to format my SD card if needed to.

thnx for gr8 only thing need to add is more colour option for folders..also while goin back donot close the tab

i love this file manager/explorer! I've tried a LOT of them but thia is the one I stick with on all my devices.

This used to be great, but now cannot get write privileges on SD card

Superb file manger with everything you need to mange your files... Only request is change the app icon as its not ageing gracefully.

Best file manager for rooted phones. Just wish the dev would update the UI to a more modern look.

Very nice, fast responsiveness, dev friendly and sleek design.

Still i can not go to next or previous picture if i open them through Root Explorer! No matter what picture viewer i use

Fails most operations when files are named weird (e.g. some_name xyz jan 01 00:11:22 2018)

my favorite file explorer.. i just have one request, can you also update the app icon itself. kinda looks old when mixed with other apps.

Simply the best! been using it since 2013 without sny issues.

Good app, great developer, root access. Highly recommended.

Best explorer ever!, Fast ,Simple, Stable , Regular updates ♥️

only picture in camera folder can be slide next when open. please update. thank

didnt work.. stated my device, Huawei Mate 10 Pro EMUI 9, did not have root setup. i want a refund.

The best! only root explorer that can browse root directory on h872 with aex

i'm truely disappointed.i paid for this app to get root access and be able to efit the hosts file then i found it doesn't even offer this option.i need a refund.

Well, it looks like the Speed Software Devs have done it again... Excellent!!!

Great, now all it needs is a redesign to the new material design.

Excellent, my old favorite. A bit of material treatment please.

google spys in all of us forno reasons these are our devices but yet we are paying for there appsrunning in the background

best root file explorer since day one around gingerbread days

dont even have root now but decided to buy, as i used it a lot in the past, and felt like supporting devs

Great app been using it for around five years

does not offer root explorer option for s10 + instant refund

its not effective. he will tell you look at the you tube for a solution

Ever a classic!

Still the best

Favorite file manager ever

Best if Best.

long time user

After update FC on Oreo

since android 2.2

I love this software, I've been using it for YEARS! I would love to see Microsofts OneDrive implemented and also wifi file management. With that, it'll be the perfect file manager.

Using this for 4yrs. It does what the other apps do, just as well . It could look better, but not that important

Every phone I use I take this app for everything, Stillsll Works Great!

I've used Root Explorer for many years, and I've always believed it to be the most underrated file manager. It's always one of the first apps that I install on a new device. Thank you for your dedication to keeping this app consistent and reliable over the years.
