Reviews From google play store

As a remote control for Airfoil for Windows this app does a superb job. Just install and launch - if the Windows PC is running then it will be automatically detected. No further setup necessary. I use this tool to re-connect my speakers when they disconnect from my Windows Airfoil. (They are a bit older so that does tend to happen.) So I really just use one tiny feature of this app, and at the same time I am incredibly happy to have it. It's a huge added value for me. Things that could make it even better: 1. Provide a widget for speaker control so that one does not need to open the app 2. Allow disabling the recognition of the android app as streaming client, so that it does not appear in my Airfoil for Windows list of devices. I have been using Airfoil for a few years now. Thanks for the great software and please keep up the good work.

I want this to work so badly. Stops playing/disconnects after a few minutes. It's Mac counterpart connects reasonably well with Bluetooth and Chromecast. Using a OnePlus 6T and Mac OS 10.13.6

It crashes every few minutes or so. Not reliable at all.

Well, the thing is The android app connects with my macbook but the major problem resides in the poor audio synchronization, which has a delay of 2 seconds even after I opened it on debugging mode and set the local playback latency on negative values. Please fix that, because I do not want to spend money on an application with playback issues. Thanks.

Unable to detect my macbook, was connected to the same wifi

It stops playing when my screen cuts off. awesome concept and I wanna buy the program so I can listen to music on all my devices around the house on my bluetooth speakers, but if the screen has to stay on, what's the point?

delay/echo defeats the purpose. not much better than built-in capability

Doesn't work, developers clearly don't care. Will be seeking a refund for the Mac version I bought.

Audio from my mac disconnects after 5 minutes when phone is not connected to charger.

i wanted to know if their is a airfoil sender verision for android?

First of all. i love Airfoil! Works so well all around my house. But this app is just not good? i don't get it. you guys know what you're doing but the satellite all for Android is terrible?!?! it works for a tiny bit then always just dies. What gives?

The latency can be adjusted from the airfoil app which is nice. The audio stops every 5 minutes though🤔

Rogue Amoeba is a phenomenal app developer!

Good app, but latency is too big for my application

Works as intended, wanted vlc audio for podcast to play through my phone. Sounded horrible until I switched the output device on vlc from my monitors speakers to my headsets speakers. Worked crystal clear after that. Only problem is that it seems I have to keep the app in focus for it to work.

Continuous buzzing sound. No help on web just advertising hype for paid product. Pity, I'd heard good things about this from the apple side.

Since Android Pie, this app is totally broken. Fix it and I will change my review.

Broken with Android Pie. Please fix it.

Not working. Works in iOS. Is there a test audio file to help sync speakers? Playing it by ear. Meh fix it first.

Sound out of sync

Only works for 3 seconds

Like most people, I downloaded this for Spotify. Crashes as soon as I transmit. Tried transmitting from Windows media player and all I get is electrical noises and vibrations. Worst, most half-baked app and windows program I've ever had the misfortune of attempted use. Windows 7 to Sony Z5 if devs are interested. But I doubt it since they're obviously not all that interested in the usefulness of their product.

This worked at first and I was able to stream Mac->Android (Nexus 5x) + iOS. Then it stopped working on Android showing "Airfoil was unable to connect to the remote speaker X. Please check the firewall on the computer where X is running and try again.". After changing name / restarting everything it worked again for a while then stopped again. Also is there any way to disable sound controlling everything from everything as I wanted to use it for a silent disco party with ~20 people and allowing a single person to disrupt everybody is weird

It doesn't says like it receives audio from Windows airfoil and it doesn't show up as a device there.. I was hoping that it works like Airfoil remote for Mac.. Disappointed

Cost us 50 aud and still dosent work well have to work on it for an hour to make it work. Not worth the money at all, free apps work wonders then this.

After paying for the last significant upgrade to Airfoil I soon found the speaker app crashes when you try to connect to a Spotify source. I reported this problem about 9 months ago. It was confirmed as a bug by RA. Since then nothing has been done and they seem content to ignore such problems! Don't buy this product...

It worked right away, very automated, I like that. BUT I intended to use my cell phone as speakers replacement for my pc and that implies low latency, sadly it seems this app can't provide that yet.

Does not work with Spotify. It seems to work OK with other sound sources on the PC. Note you might need to let Airfoil through your PC firewall (inbound and outbound) before your phone shows up as a destination on the PC application. Lack of reliable Spotify compatibility is bit of a show-stopper these days.

My phone is not showing up in the lost despite being connected to the dr network. Please help resolve this issue, my trial is ending soon

Airfoil is great in the Apple environment, but very lacking in PC and Android. This app only let's you use Android device as a receiver without any controls. The iOS app let's you control your entire airfoil setup, like adjusting different device volumes and changing tracks.

Stopped working after 2nd use! Don't waste your time

Te app hasn't been update since September of last year. It needs an update and bugs fixes so it doesn't crash. I don't think they are paying attention to android user app only to iOS it works perfectly fine.

crashes as soon as it attempts to play spotify, issue been reported whille ago by many people seems like its a dead app now! pointless and a waste if you want to use spotify!!

Pointless app. I can listen to any sound source on my phone without this.

Cool but major lag from pc. Needs a delay or something

App only gives me the old 1.0.3 version, doesn't look anything like the screenshots, still gives me 2 seconds of delay after tweaking in pc-app

No idea how it worked without any authentication, it also asked admin rights on my Mac. Hope it won't break my stuff, otherwise works fantastically.

Crashes as soon as I start streaming. Useless.

Crashed anytime audio would try to connect.

Totally not usable.

Crashes when using Spotify as a source.

Trasmits sound fine, however there is still a substantial delay between devices.

Instantly crashes on galaxy s7

Last version is not support playback sound in background on Redmi 4 Pro.

Works fine with other media sources, but is not compatible with Spotify

Sees my output device just fine... but does it transmit to that output device? No.

audio delay!!

sometime its working... ;)

So bad

Awesome with AirPlay

I have a Mac and Apple TV, but I also have a Samsung phone, so I feel like I miss out on some compatibility between the devices. I like using the Rogue Amoeba products to be in total control of my music. I'll play my iTunes library on my phone, or I'll use Airfoil to send Spotify to my Apple TV, while using my phone to control the playlist. I feel like it gives me that slight bit more control of my devices.

There is about 10 seconds worth of delay between the sound happening and the sound coming to the phone. Also, being connected to the PC for 10 minutes or more causes an "overlay" that can't be turned of to happen. If you pay, then this overlay ceases to happen, but you will have payed more than £20 for something that the leading competitor gives for about £4

On phones with no menu soft key there is no way to enter settings to adjust the buffer delay. Makes listening impossible using android and apple devices as remote speakers. Fix and will give 5 stars

Used to work great. Now crashes when I used with the new pc airfoil application. Contacted support and they recommended going back to the old version. But hang on, i just paid for the update.

Get the high latency worked out and this app would be amazing.

All this app does is open and crash. I've tried reinstalling as well. The second I try to connect to my desktop it crashes. Please fix.

Works flawlessly but need update to be inline with new Airfoil Satellite.

Only if the latency of a second(1) is fixed it will be awesome

soundwire have zero latency, this have 3-5 seconds lag

Es buena, pero hay demora entre lo que debe sonar y suena en los audífonos

Deafening sound after 10 mins

Love it

"Before purchase, noise is overlaid on all transmissions longer than 10 minutes." Really ? maybe a 30 day trial to fully evaluate the software would be nice, I'm not buying this.

Doesn't work on s5

Crashes at every app launch.

Works good but shuts down when your screen snoozes. And don't expect to have video and sound in sync. Audio is delayed about 1.5 seconds on YouTube and other movies ect. But great for audio and filling a house party with multiple speakers

The audio is intermittent, which makes it a frustrating experience. Plus, the app has not been updated to address user issues in over two years. I would recommended avoiding Rogue Amoeba products.

It crashes three times each time I want to use it. Once it works takes a while to sync with the server. The sound fidelity is very high, even with flac. Some times there are jumps though. The server requires polish. It doesn't wrap chrome, for example.

I was able to get it to work with an HTC One running 4.1.2, however it wouldn't run on a Galaxy Nexus ( the device I want to use to stream) running 4.2.2. Disappointing; hoping a future update fixes it.

What the hell? app decides to cut out SOMETIMES when the screen is off. Other times it is more than happy to keep playing audio in the background. The "keep screen awake" function also does NOT work properly. Update? Maybe?!

I have the Airfoil program running on a Win 7 PC that plays my media and this app. on a Galaxy Note phone and the play back of the audio stream works really well. The only problem I've noticed is if two devices are playing back the audio connecting through the same wi-fi access point then it seem to run out of bandwidth and the audio becomes a bit broken up.

I have a galaxy S3 and a note 10.1 On both devices it just gives me a blank screen and doesn't see my audio receiver that has airplay. I have purchase the pc version and that works great with Spotify to my Marantz receiver.

Gave me a black screen with some not helpful words across the bottom. None of the promised help guide. Completely useless. Developers will have to do better that this describing their product, what it does and how to make it do it!

1. The t9 dialer cannot cope with searching for more than a first name or a last name. 2. It mixes up telephone numbers and contact names and ends up calling the wrong number for the name that was clicked. 3. There is no easy way of selecting an alternative number to the one that is specified by default

Are you guys planing on creating a full airfoil version(not just speakers) for Android. There should not be any of those bs restrictions APPLE dropped on you guys...

No Support and no directions, if it works for you it might be useful, but if not it's throw away and move on. I my case it did not work and I got no reply to multiple submitted questions, moving on.

This app will not 'see' your Airfoil client on Windows/Mac if you keep the client up to date. The Windows/Mac client WILL however still see this app and you can initiate the broadcast from there ONLY. A pain if you don't have direct access to the computer your Airfoil client is running on. The app likes to crash and silently disappear without any mention whatsoever.

First time I launched the app it crashed my phone. Second time it worked but after half the first song the music started stuttering and didn’t get back to normal until the next song had started. Then it started stuttering again after a few seconds and kept stuttering to and from until I gave up. I might give it another try eventually but for the moment I’ll probably stick to streaming the music through my iPod instead, the iOS version of the app seems more reliable. (Or maybe my Nexus S is just too old to handle this kind of streaming?)

Very nearly awesome, but sadly it crashes all the time and I cannot get rid of the lag between my pc and phone.

I play my audiobooks on my phone via airfoil speaker and I can walk around the apartment this way. Occasionally my phone disconnects from airfoil but could be my phone but quality is great.

I use airfoil on my macbook, and this app just works, period. Easy to set up, only downside is the delay, but that is unavoidable I guess

I can see my phone from my PC running paid version of Airfoil but when I activate it says 'Cannot connect to remote speaker'

Crashes continuously on the 3 android devices I have tested this on. Feeling ripped off for paying for an app that is essentially useless.

Win7 streaming pandora to four android devices. Four wireless devices seem to be in sync. Using splashtop to start music, and air commander to control speaker "zones". Got it all up and running in about 20 minutes. I now have a poor mans sonos system!

App doesn't work, always give me an error message. Hope it will be fixed.

The server requires a license, something you don't find out until you download it. The product works fine and I am fine with buying applications but sneaky behavior is not something I want in an application developer. Every other application like this on the store is upfront about the cost.

Don't get it to work. Can receive audio from Airbubble but airfoil just stops every time. Galaxy nexus

No f'n way I'd pay 25.00 for a sound delay (settings verified) that bad!

Music will be playing fine then it will start to lag behind the other speakers. Will recover after a few seconds then repeat.

Thought this would great, but found out on the pc site that it's a $25 download after 10 mins of use. Why not say this on the android app? Uninstalling and looking for another option.

I'm streaming from a iMac and the audio is always out of sync and it cannot be fixed with the aufo sync slider, it doesn't provide enough to sync the audio.

I was surprised when the volume went up. I don't know how its done, but I don't think it matters.

This is amazing. Have used this on apple iPhones osx pc and droids. Rocks the house literally.

Easy to use and I could connect my MacBook with a Nexus 7 and a Galaxy Note 2 without any problem. But 25 Dollar for the desktop version? Seriously?

Get it in sync and 5 to 10 minutes later it's out. And then maybe back in. And then...

Very very good app, finally i've found something to watch movie with headphones in my bed ^^ the only problem is the latency of 2 sec, on the support (rogue amoeba website) they advise to use airfoil player which is a terrible mediaplayer (try to run an mkv and you'll see) .. But on VLC you can adjust the audio track, just put -2 sec of delay and you're good to go! Note: it's not free, the server app that go on computer cost 30€ for complete version (no stutering after 10min. Google can help you with this.
