Need option like auto search just keep it listening without press search button on and off Option for tap or click the SoundHound button to identify what's playing around you and turn it off

  2. Chaos Shadow-avatar

online Excellent Music ID App. Preface to say I do not need the premium app at all. I only bought it to support the devs for an amazing music app that has rarely let me down. Today it successfully ID'd a gaming type instrumental I did not expect it to, and another song I'd been trying to ID for years, which I'm sure I tried on soundhound before with no luck. So it's only improved with time. UI for paid app seems worse than free app - for instance, anytime I hit back it closes app. Would donate more.

  3. Katie Lee-avatar

apk *Sneaky microphone permission* Up until recently, I absolutely loved this app! I used it so much. It did an amazing job with obscure music as well! Now after the update, this app is awful. It doesn't find music as easily. I have it listen over and over, & a lot of times I give up. Even more frustrating, is the sneaky microphone usage now. This app never tried to use my mic unless I was identifying music. Now it constantly tries to listen w/ app closed. Creepy & inappropriate.

  4. Brandon Nunn-avatar

& play Always listening, even when app is closed, doing who knows what with whatever it records, plus it's a waste of battery. Only way to stop is deny mic permissions & reactivate for use. For a any app, that's ridiculous, but for a PAID app, the invasion of privacy is ridiculous. Find another app. This is a scam & privacy risk.

  5. Chris alan-avatar

pro apk I was happy for a while, but like others noticed that sound hound was activating my microphone on its own. And frequently. Several times every hour it was appearing on my app use log. I'm sad to go, I bought it I liked it so much, but that isn't gonna fly.

apk download Microphone always on and running in the background all the time. Lost over 30 % of battery ( according to the battery usage stats) over night thanks to this app. I'm uninstalling until situation drastically improves. Cheers.

  7. Winson Lau-avatar

soundhound-music-search دانلود برنامه For some reason I get notified every 30 mins that sound hound is using my microphone. Turning off pre-listening mode doesn't disable this either. I had to uninstall it because it is basically spying on me at this point.

download Stop adding new features, just make sure the core functions still work. Doesn't register any music in history, instant id widget doesn't work, slow to open up.

  9. Maria Cristina-avatar

soundhound ∞ music search App starts on its own even thought I force stop it from the phone settings as well as the app. Also, it's starting on its own and using the microphone every few minutes. This causes battery loss as well as trust issues from me as a user.

  10. Ron Thow-avatar

soundhound ∞ music search & play A great app ruined This was formerly a fantastic aid to identifying music but a recent 'overhaul' upgrade has left it basically useless. Why idiotic developers can't leave a good thing alone I will never understand.

  11. Martin King-avatar

Useful app, but since last update I am getting warnings that it is using my microphone when I have not started the app. Fix this ASAP and I will change my rating.

  12. Haw Chi Low-avatar

Latest update broke the microphone and it's turning on by itself even without the app being used which is a breach of privacy.

  13. Matthias De Geyter-avatar

    Matthias De Geyter

Does what it has to do, but since this morning (after last update?) it requests microphone access in the background every half hour...

  14. Yo Mo-avatar

Kept system on for 4h 5min. 34sec - CPU Time 45min 1s - CPU Time (background) 44min. 23sec. Why? It can't find any songs, that's dor sure! Why is it this app on such downward spiral?

  15. Mattew Tan-avatar

Microphone permissions running almost 2 time every hour. Why is it running on the background?

  16. Robert Benson-avatar

Constantly getting battery drain notifications. Doesn't work well enough to keep it installed.

  17. Nalet-avatar

Can't connect to Spotify. Even after removing the App from Spotify.

  18. Bernard Hammonds-avatar

    Bernard Hammonds

Eating up battery for whatever reason. Also the widget in pointless if I have to open the app each time to make it work

  19. Alex Dem-avatar

Background microphone always on. And moreover this broke other apps microphone using.

  20. Steve Marsh-avatar

Poop emoji explains everything. The listen icon is not as good as it used to be and can't tell what its doing. Its not finding anything. Why did they make the app worst?

  21. A L Moxley-avatar

I love this app it helps me stay up to date on songs I like.

  22. Pancho Tirado-avatar

bought the app and now, no song is found, good and old song are not recognize, latino song db are poor too

  23. Anil Khanna-avatar

Out dated, takes 10-15 seconds to load before you can start to use the app which means the song can be o er before you try to find out what it is, no split screen while using other apps that have music in them to identify, half of the songs that I try to find don't come up with any matches, wouldn't not recommend any more. There are better free apps like shazam which are better

  24. Parker King-avatar

I don't know what they did but the new version of the app has caused the ID function to drop off the deep end significantly. Previously it would be able to ID songs in crowded, noisy places with the song playing somewhat quietly, but now it won't even ID songs in quiet places with the song playing at a decent volume. Functionally useless now.

  25. Ian Mahler-avatar

FEATURE REQUEST: AUTO-SAVE THE RECORDING. I recorded a friend singing (to try matching), but after searching, the sound file disappeared. Otherwise, app does a very good job recognizing obscure songs. If you don't have internet, it'll still record for later processing. Good stuff.

  26. R PBIDDLE-avatar

Like many others who have commented, Sound hound has become USELESS after the mid Feb 2020 updates. App now just spins and spins and spins without ever identifying songs. And YES, I eventually get some "survey" query. Sound Hound is now poop. My patience are wearing thin.

  27. Mjelva Ong-avatar

I've been using soundhound exclusively since 2011. Today I moved to shazam. This is a classic case of the straw that broke the camel's back. There have been far too many minor issues with soundhound lately that I just don't care to stick around anymore. 1. I never knew what the reason was, but every so often it would create a new Spotify playlist. I now have five (I remember consolidating and deleting others too). 2. For the past few months I could not log in with my Spotify credentials. When the bug was finally fixed, yep, it created a new playlist. 3. With this latest update, it would not search for songs. It would just keep listening. I uninstalled/reinstalled, and it does indeed search, but never finds anything no matter how popular. Absolutely useless. Good job, you broke it.

  28. Ramon F Jaquez-avatar

And the recent update, keep showing an annoying request to do a survey (it doesn't go away). It used to be pretty good, but now, songs recognition is useless. Every song that it failed to ID, was picked up by Shazam (free).

  29. ezakustam anonymous-avatar

    ezakustam anonymous

Why do you force people to keep pressing buttons in nested menus? People want to identify music QUICKLY and SAFELY. Edit: They seem to have FINALLY fixed this problem. Then they promptly took away the ability to find simple information about the track like when it was made. Why. Just why.

  30. Lewis Stone-avatar

Soundhound used to work well but it seems the last update has caused it to not find any music that I want it to identify. Even music it had identified previously. I suppose I've wasted the money when I purchased it a while back when it worked. In the current configuration I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Gonna check out some others now. Shazam?

  31. GW Tilse-avatar

This app is nothing but an afterthought when it comes to Houndify! If you don't know, it's Soundhounds voice recognition Ai, their "assistant" basicly, and it's their bread & butter not this app anymore. This was my go to (2010) when it came to music id. But now Shazam is clearly better. After Apple's buyout tho it will probably end up just like this app, an afterthought, replaced by big brothers desire to put a microphone in everything you own! So they can make your life easier of course...

  32. Robert Hastings-avatar

    Robert Hastings

This app and its widget has been a staple for my phone for longer than I can recall... while it seems a petty gripe, it was jarring to wake up and find they forcibly changed their widget design from smooth and dark to a flat bright white square with no ability to choose the design for myself. Why?! Why would you *remove* aesthetic choice from your customers without any input?! Why not leave the old option and let us *choose*?

  33. Mike Donatello-avatar

I paid for the Infinity version of this app and it worked well for years. But the 18 FEB 2020 and subsequent updates broke the widget that lets you ID a song with one tap. Additionally, the app doesn't now ID songs that it has in the past. For me, SoundHound is basically useless. Went from five stars to one. I hope it's fixed soon.

  34. Doug-avatar

After many years I'm uninstalling. Tried Shazam and it works much better. What happened SoundHound? Every search says trouble hearing and the few occasions it does recognize the song takes a while. Used to be very quick and accurate.

  35. Jon-avatar

Never identifies any songs. Goes through the animation like it's listening to music but never comes up with a song name. It is like it doesn't hear anything. Other apps work fine for identify songs but I PAID for SoundHound

  36. MB G-avatar

Great for song identification, lyrics are pretty good but I not certain they are always accurate. Play lists also.

  37. Gediminas Bytautas-avatar

    Sing recognition is lacking...

  38. Trnod P-avatar

Fails sooo often.. Then I try shazam, and that always finds the music..

  39. Jay F.-avatar

Still, years later, this app sucks for tagging edm music. Shazam gets all the songs in seconds that this app weeks and even months after a song has been released still won't tag. Fix this!

  40. stephen-avatar

Still no return of Google Play Music suppory. Apple owns Shazam, is a direct competitor, and still works with GPM. Support is dismissive and helpful.

  41. Gardner DeVore-avatar

Discovered that with Q, I had to go into the app settings on my device and enable microphone for SoundHound.

  42. Keith Thomas-avatar

Vastly inferior lyric app. No landscape mode anymore. No aesthetic choices. Janky AF.

  43. Kyle Fullmer-avatar

Crashes often and cant replay the songs. Widget doesn't seem to work either.

  44. Cristian Andreas-avatar

    Cristian Andreas

OMG ! What happened with the widget after the last update ? It s incredible ugly . Please bring back the old widget

  45. Rey Villa-avatar

uninstalled not just updated, reinstalled, fixed my problem

  46. Jonathon Hatcher-avatar

    Jonathon Hatcher

I've been a strong supporter of you. Especially over Shazam. Best app for sure!

  47. Willie Stacks-avatar

very unhappy for $5.99 it won't even detect the songs while headphones in nor does the spotify compability i am requesting email for a refund unfalse advertisenent. please reach me st williestacks@gmail - thank you very much

  48. TE L-avatar

Prefer other SoundHound app bc automatic search when opened.

  49. Tomasz Fiszer-avatar

Had it for several years now, and it only failed me a couple of times with hard to recognize titles. Does its job very well

  50. Iain-avatar

Would be a 2.5 if I could do it. I've had this for years on many phones, but it's always been so slow to load. And they were not slow phones or low end hardware either. Still finds the song, but takes it time getting there and the song may be over by the time it launches fully

  51. Mario R-avatar

What f**ng! Disappointment!! This App recognizes 5 out of 15 songs, that's the best it can do, really? I so regret paying for it. Then I proceed to the feedback section & get done writing in their "Feedback Section" it wouldn't let me send the email. BUYER BEWARE!!!

  52. D Dupré-avatar

Absolutely ZERO need to add the RUN At Startup permission. And ypu didnt even describe it, hyst tried sneaking it in there. Horrible move. Super fail. Blaming google is not acceptable either. Screenshotting & posting to dissenter version of this page in case of censorship. Remove this new permission asap. No copy pasta reply please. Hyst do the right thing .

  53. Benjamin Haos-avatar

Garbage. This company should contact Spotify so they can stop sending clients here, and/or remove this and/or their free-mium app. Completely useless for lyric recognition and utilization on the fly. Calling this very "premium" app, it cost six buck, "hands free" is downright deceptive. Negative stars is what is deserved here. Buy it, try it, and then return it. You'll agree and i hope you write a review too. I wish i could bill one or the other for time wasted ...

  54. Charley B-avatar

The ability to find obscure and rare song titles is absolutely amazing. No other app in this class and category can come anywhere close. Try it if you don't believe me. Also I did not know that you could sing into it and have it pick it up. Reminds me of the olden days of the Postal Service. Neither noise, background, static, or bad weather, will stop the delivery of your song titles.

  55. C B-avatar

Used to love this app. Now when I use it it often says to turn the sound up because it can't hear it and or it says it doesn't recgnize it. Also when it "recognizes" a song and shows it you can't get the pop up of the song to go away which makes it so you have to completely uninstall the app then reinstall it everytime you want to use it for another song find. I did not pay for a malfunctioning program.

  56. Prince Hollis-avatar

    Easy to store and use.

  57. Andrew Andrew-avatar

A much more accurate name for this app would be ' sorry no close matches'

  58. M Shryne-avatar

I've had this for several years, I got it back when google did the celebration sale. It was a much better app before. Now the app takes much longer to load (often missing the song entirely), and it doesn't even appear in the apps last used section to recall it quickly forcing a restart every time you leave it. I've noticed that it fails to notice songs far more often than it used to as well. I have Shazam pro too and I may have to switch to that as my default music search.

  59. A Google user-avatar

Freezes and crashes alot. It often takes longer to load up than the song lasts. I had an older version which came with a tablet I own, and that worked great. This version is so slow starting up that the song frequently ends before it begins to work. I went back to using another app which has an annoying amount of ads, just because it works quicker. For $5.99 I expect the app to work without issues.

  60. Arkadiusz Kowalik-avatar

    Arkadiusz Kowalik

It's draining battery and using the microphone most of the time, even if the app is not used. I don't see a way to turn it off

  61. Dakota Emata-avatar

Works great. My only issue is it doesn't show up in my recent apps after I switch to a different app. So every time i want to go back to the app I have to go into my app drawer for it. Mildly annoying but the recognition is pretty good.

  62. Niel Stuccy-avatar

Been using it for years. Still the best. My one and only wish would be the ability to save my search to my YouTube account rather than using SoundHound as a search engine for the song only to have to look it up on YouTube.

  63. A Google user-avatar

Advertisements in a paid app, shame on you guys. Take a look at the FREE Shazam app, works faster and has a clean interface (no ads in your face on the main app screen) and best of all it's FREE. Sorry I wasted the money on SoundHound infinity. I wrote in and complained, the next day the ads were gone, the day after they came back. BOOOOOO

  64. Ray Marquardt-avatar

Core function is great, but it has gotten bloated and annoying. Here's my most recent use: 1. Wonder what this song is? 2. Get out phone, start SoundHound Infinite 3. Get full screen pop-up trying to get me to link SoundHound to Snapchat of all things. 4. Finally find X in corner of ad to dismiss. 5. Try to ID song 6. Listen to "match": wrong song. No worries, I'll ID again. 7. Can't get the "match" to stop playing - it shrinks instead, making new IDs impossible. 8. Original song stops playing.

  65. Paul Rohde-avatar

The ID Now widget does not work properly. It's meant to identify immediately, which it does in testing, but when I use it for real, so many times it doesn't. By the time I see the stupid thing needs to be told to ID, the snippet of music has passed. So fustrating. Whats the point of the widget then?

  66. Ian Gray-avatar

My Music Map no longer works properly. First time it recognises the song it now shows Discovered in: null, GB. No actual place. After I exit then go back into the song, My Music Map disappears altogether. This was working fine before. Please fix as this feature has become useless now. It used to be good to know where all the tunes were discovered but that all seems to be gone now. Leaves me disappointed as the earlier version just worked and looked great. This new version sucks in comparison.

  67. Duncan Taylor-avatar

Although it doesn't seem to be quite as "sensitive" as a well known rival (especially when limited background noise is present), it has had an extremely high success rate with identifying a very large proportion of mainstream music as well as (nicely surprising!) a lot of the lesser known indie music, each time that I've used it. Really simple to use and nicely presented.

  68. Google Seraph-avatar

Goodbye soundhound, really far behind Shazam when it comes to jazz and blues.

  69. Michael Christoff-avatar

    Michael Christoff

Seems like they've removed a lot of features like the top 40 songs by country / world etc.. I used to use it as a radio on trips. Also, there is a connect to spotify ad that always shows even tho I'm already connected to Spotify. The song detection is quite poor recently and slow. Shazam is much better at this. App has gone way down hill in my opinion, and I've pretty much switched to Shazam at this point... free Shazam is now better than the Soundhound app I paid for :(

  70. Kernowbill Kernowbilly-avatar

    Kernowbill Kernowbilly

Seriously pants at the moment! I used to love the app, having installed it on every phone for the past 10 years, and rated it above all others even Shazam. Now it cannot differentiate between 'She' by Charles Aznavour, 'Ça Plane pour Moi' by Plastic Bertrand and, Incantation by Cacharpaya! Poor show and lots of poop! Explanations from SoundHound? Doubtful, uninstalling. Don't set yourself up for frustration...

  71. Candace Smith-avatar

Tried to avoid the MANDATORY login with Spotify but kept getting error messages. Finally gave in and created a Spotify account and it refuses to sync properly with SoundHound... resulting in my SoundHound account logging me out because it can't sync my searches properly. This is beyond dumb! Why is required to sign up for Spotify?!?!?!?!

  72. Hall Jackson-avatar

They disabled landscape mode... Why, think about it. How do you read, how do singers sing, how do you look at song lyrics? One line of lyrics at a time. So why would I want to be forced to hold my phone so that the line is broken? Why do the devs need to break the app to add tighter integration with $potify? Maybe nice feature to whistle for a song but I'm not paying for another premium subscription to find out.

  73. Adrea Johns-avatar

was pretty excited when I got it and paired it with spotify. I wanted to be able to play a playlist in spotify and it show up in soundhound concurrently. you have to go in and play the song in spotify, open the sound hound app, and hit the button to recognize the music and then you get to see lyrics. not what I was looking for.

  74. Jesse Koyen-avatar

Used to be the best of the bunch, upgraded to "infinite" years ago. Now, though, I get repeated log in errors, strange Spotify demands (I don't want to use Spotify) and the Google Play Music integration is scatter shot... Sometimes there is a GPM button, sometimes there is not.

Please remove the obnoxious new lyrics panel or at least make it optional! The old lyrics display was fine, there was no need to push those terrible lyrics panel right into our face each and every time a song is identified. And to make matters worse, the screen stays ON while the lyrics are displayed, draining the battery. Worst update in a long time 🤬

SoundHound used to work on pretty much every phone I used it on. New updates have become laggy, buggy and horrible, and now I'm asked to sign up with no option to use my Google account to do so. A real shame, as this was one of my favourite apps in the past.

By far this is the ONLY music app helperTO USE! very UI friendly, hands free for driving comforts, CAN and DOES ANYTHING you need with little user effort... Also, keeps a record ALL searches, allowing you to leave them as a discovery or favorites... if possible I would DEFINITELY GIVE IT A 10+ RATING!!! Great job Soundhound Inc. Keep it going!!!!!! A Music Lover ❣

Very poor with electronic and foreign music Soundhound probably works OK for pop music. But who cares? Who needs help finding that? When it comes to electronic/edm/foreign music, Soundhound is basically useless. Multiple times now has Google Play Music identified Japanese edm songs that Soundhound fails at. Uninstalling, because this app is useless.

I've been using SoundHound for years and it's better than ever. Easy 5 stars.

I paid for premium and stuck with Soundhound to be able to add songs to a Spotify playlist automatically. The widget doesn't do that, and now we can't even do it manually by clicking on the search results. Shazam seems to work better.

This is the best sound recognizing app, much better than the other famous one. I bought the pro version just to support the developers, the free version is also good. Integration with spotify is also good. I recommend it to all!

Fast ID time but gets it wrong often when it displays results that quickly. Frequently shows results for the previous search. Works best when sampling from the middle of a song. Hopefully the latest update will fix

For the past three iterations the app is a huge battery drain on an Galaxy S10 even though I don't actually use it and it's always asleep. Otherwise the app is a bit bloated anyway with voice commands and too much social stuff which should all be optional.

this app is really starting to suck. I paid for this app and it still doesn't identify a lot of songs. I've been trying to identify this song that's been coming on the radio pretty frequently and it still won't identify it. starting to dislike it.

Sucks sucks paid for the upgrade every other time I turn it on it completely crashes and why can't you leave the app with the music shutting off it's stupid waste of money I want a refund I bought the upgraded version cuz I enjoyed and really liked the regular version that was awhile ago though now it just sucks refund I want refund

Infuriating app that basically is just a tease. You can't just play playlists and have the lyrics displayed. This app requires a damn babysitter. Every song requires 10 clicks. Some trolls made this app which could be great but is in the end is just too much handholding.

Had an old version from Amazon. Had used this app for years and it did a great job for me. Unfortunately, it was no longer supported through Amazon and pretty much unusable. Customer service quickky jumped in to help. Keep up the great work. Thank you!

I used sound hound when it first came out and it was great, but after a while the app doesn't find the correct music. Very disappointed after spending money on it.

  89. Donnie-avatar

Very poor at identifying songs. And when it finds them and I click to "open in spotify" it tries to search for nonsense html and won't find the song. I used to love this app. Not sure what happened but it's not very useful anymore.

Flagged for using mic in background. Android notified me. Uninstalled immediately. I have been using soundhound for years with no problems. This is a rather worrying development.

  91. Sandra-avatar

Could be great. Main reason I installed was to check the year a song was released. Instead of the original date, SoundHound often returns the "latest" releases (i.e., Greatest Hits). Original release date please!

I've had sound hound for a long time and on many different devices and it's never let me down in any way. I've discovered a lot of great music with this app. I've tried others similar to it and none compare. I highly recommend it.

Excellent app. It works mostly. Sometimes it doesn't recognize songs. It would be nice to allow to copy the lyrics and translate the lyrics from and to other languages.

This app was great. In 2012 when Google doesn't kick its ass in recognition. I paid a dollar and I wish I had it back. This app is less convenient to use compared to just pulling out the Google assistant.

  96. Don F-avatar

It works great, but like a bad guest, it doesn't know when it's time to go away. You can get rid of it by running Device Maintenance, but it's a pain a user shouldn't have to endure.

  97. Desiree Clark-avatar

not working like it used to and the widget seems to be malfunction now. paid for this app almost 10 years ago and it's never failed until the last month or so.

  98. Bogdan Maxim-avatar

It was the best app for music recognition, better than Shazam. I don't know who ruined it, but definitely did it on purpose. Shame that I spent my money on it, now is completely useless.

  99. I C-avatar

Connects directly only to Spotify. No support for GPM, YouTube Music or Amazon Music. You have to go through those apps' stores first even if you have their music players. Music recognition is still great.

Paid for the app, now i wait for the ads to disappear off my screen so i can ID songs. I'm pretty sure that defeats the whole point of a paid app. Please stop the ads for those of us who paid you for the app. Thanks!
