Not impressed. Old one was much more better than this . This version has lots of drawbacks . The answer of a certain question is displayed in a rough way which is really hard to understand . And it does not even gives the specific answer of a certain question.

5/18 Update: It keeps getting worse the new update is terrible keeps loading and requires you to click on the link and read through it for the answer. That defeats the purpose of the app. 3 stars to 1 until it goes back to the old version. Sometimes is doesn't work but most of the time it does a good job.

I don't like this new version. I love that it automatically captures the text, but I REALLY DISLIKE how the results are displayed. MUCH RATHER the older version in that sense, because the answers popped up automatically and were straightforward and easy to see. Now you still have to sit and search. What's the point? This new version in my opinion downgraded in that sense. I think that a mix between the two would be perfect. Use the old way the answers are displayed with the new text capture.

At first, I was extremely skeptical about how helpful this app would really be- but I have recieved productive help on EVERY SINGLE PROBLEM I HAVE ENCOUNTERED. All I can say is that I have found the holy grail. I am not sure how well it would work on problems that are made-up without an internet presence of some sort, but if you're using some kind of textbook, this works great!!

I hate this updated version. Very rare to get a straight forward answer. Half the time you have to click on the link and search it or it gives you information you don't need. For example I asked a question that mentioned cancer screening, but cancer was not the main topic of the question(if that makes sense) and the definition of cancer popped up like wth. Is there someway to get the old version back or is it another app out there that works similar to the old Socratic?

It's such a downgrade compared to the old version, sometimes it just says there is no answer and not even give me the option to look for myself and it takes way too long to find the answer I would choose the old version of the app without hesitation, to those of you that might read this and are in apex I suggest that you install the brainly app because you can find info so much easier and it's more trustworthy to find answers that are correct in my opinion, you have more sources to look over

In my view the old version of this app is much better than this one . This new version is not that accurate in showing the correct answer. It even does not the complete answer like in the previous one due to which I have to visit each and every site present there . Befor I get the answer I become tired of searching I think I can use this time to find my own answer . It never finds the things I need it to and always takes multiple times to find what im looking for. I'm extremely disapointed in this app. My opinion is to put the old verson back online and delete this one. When i was that this socratic is by google i thaught it would be better but it turned out to be terrible.

I hate the updsted version. I wish i would have never downloaded the Google version. It takes ao long to search for the correct answer. It gives you too much info and the search button and mic is always missing. Also when u take a pic, the words are so much smaller. I just hate it!!! Please go back to the old verison. The old version is better as it shows you the answer directly on the page result. This version requires you to click on the search result as if you were in your Google Chrome browser. It takes more time to get you answer. That's a big minus point. On the positive side, when taking a picture of the question you dont have to crop it out. This version automatically center the picture on the question. If i didnt have the option 2 use the old version, I would probably uninstall socratic all together

I like the old version better. It seems to have more answer and it actually shows the FULL answer. This app has a focusing problem and makes you click the link to see the rest of the answer which is really irritating. I like that it crops the question for you & gives you the option to type the question or speak it. I just think it needs a couple adjustments.

This app literally save my entire school year because I did online school I didn't do any of my homework or work in general. So I was desperately looking for help then I found this app. It will have no ads unless you click on some of the sites for answers then some of the sites you clicked on will show ads. You'll know what I mean if you click on it but other then that it's worth it! But it won't have all the answers pop up some you have to look for.

A bad experience with this app. Such a shame. It used to be so better before as it always showed the answer solved but now it just shows the steps to solve it, not solving it on its own and taking it to some websites to get it solved. If I had to do this, why would'nt I directly go to the website and search up the answer instead of downloading this app? Why have you done this? Yet another app ruined by Google... THIS NEW VERSION WAS NOT READY FOR RELEASE. It is extremely slower that the other one available for Android. And the answers DO NOT auto pop up in the app like before. Even though it says answer. You still have to click on the link. I would attach photos if I could. It still does not work as fast or as well as the one on iPhones but the older version was still way better than this.

The old version was much better. This one is less straightforward and doesn't do as good as the old one. I hate that I'm being forced to switch to Google's new version. Google has also limited the functionality of the old version to get me to switch to this one. I'm switching to Microsoft Math Solver. I think it's better than this. When I go on the Socratic app, my camera doesn't focus. I tried tapping on the screen to try and get my camera to focus but nothing works. And the problem isn't with my phone because when I go on my camera, it's perfectly fine, it's good quality and it focuses. Please fix this problem. I'll change my rating then. And other than that the app is great.

This app is awful. The old one was so much better. I know what they're going for, no straight forward questions because no cheating. But when I look up a question asking "How does a country's economic and social goals change looking into the future", I DO NOT want some half baked answer telling me what the US economy is. How does that get anybody "unstuck" Google? They've botched Socratic just like they've botched YouTube. It's like anything Google touches breaks.

It's sick for letting me get quick answers on the spot. No more looking on the internet and wondering if it's actually what you're looking for. This thing provides sources and context and the snap of a picture and has a ton more to learn from. Just needs adjustments for the camera option and something to make it panaramic to take better pictures and maybe if it can take questions with the blanks and take the multiple choice answers and it can tell you which one is the correct one. I tried to scan the questions in my book and it worked, some answers came from Google references. But when typing the matter looks black so typing is not visible. The results of the answers are also very few and no accurate answers are displayed, we must look for it in several articles on google. This really helps to get the answers quickly for me and I make my own study guide for test or exams. However on my android, Socratic was working fine, then all sudden I have a black and purple screen with the camera showing along with the voice record and type the question. Now mind you the camera worked before, just suddenly stopped and it wont allow me to take the picture just to type the question or record audio question. Does any one else have this problem? Does any one know how I can download this app to my computer?

honestly this app was my favorite school app for school but now since they've got ton the Google update, I can't see where anything is and it's so much more complicated than it wad before. The answers are also so much harder to find and even for math problems, I can't ever get the right answers for it. I think that this update really made the app worse:/

aside from the app feeling slow and sluggish, it is now doing a thing where the camera view from the app becomes extremely blurry having you to close the app and reopen it just to get the clear image. And there's also times where you can't even click "go"

No landscape mode. Why???? If our phone has only one rear camera and not two or three. We will face difficulty in capturing clear photos in potrait mode. so it would better for us if there is an option for us to choose between modes. It's an easy and helpful way to get answers and it never let's you down.It shows you step by step and the answer! Not as usefull as the original socraric. This one actually tries to solve the question.. But the thing is tht the variety of questions they wud be receiving.. It myt be impossible to actually solve anything. Also not forgetting the fact tht recognizing the question is also a big prob here. A lot of work needs to be done on this... It has potential tho!!

Very interesting concept. It doesn’t yet really “solve” certain problems, in the way that Microsoft’s Math app does, but it brings up extremely similar examples that one can extrapolate to find a solution. The reference materials (swipe up) look voluminous; I’m excited to dive in and review old math, physics, and science topics that I have almost forgotten.

The older app was better in terms of results(it gave you the answer) the new one gives you links and have to search for the answer, this one is better only for the picture taking.

Deserves more than 5 star rating. I gave this app 3 stars before because I couldn't copy the question from picture. But now they updated the app and now I can copy the question from the picture. Well done google I gave this app 5 stars now. Very helpful app for any questions.

I mean its good, but the whole layout is really annoying. Also, bring back the texting the question ability. I really do not like how I ca only take a picture of the question. I want to be able to type it out as well!

Old version of the app was more straightforward and offered the correct answer in seconds. I dislike this newer version as it was forced onto me when they disabled the original socratic.

Horrible error on the app. Once downloaded would not let me sign in to google account. It continues to say "error signing account, tap to retry" and tried everything to try and sign in but wont work. Unistalled a couple of times and tried to use mobile data and wifi which still didnt work.

AMAZING!!! You take a picture of the problem and it searched through the internet to find a teacher's copy pdf with the answers. If there isn't a pdf, it finds websites like quizlet with the answer!!! It helped me so much!

Love this app it does every math problem you can think of. All you do is take a picture of the problem and it legit gives you the answer and tells you how to do the problem. I was only here for the answers but I learned quite a bit from this app. 5 STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The app is great for learning, and I learnt a lot from it. Although it is easy to use, but as I'm a chinese speaker and also studying in a chinese school, I really wanted to share all these information I learn from this app. Thus, please add chinese to this app. I really wanted to learn more knowledge in other language, and also can study them with my friends. The app is exceptional and gives the results one searched for 90% of the time. It does take a minute for the camera to focus on subjects though.

I used the original application and it was great but when google took it over it just became pure trash, and keep getting results that isn't close to what I'm even looking for so i'll look to the day it goes back to how it was

Confusing results and handwriting detection is bad for equations. Old Socratic have very good detection and have limited but familiar result. Old Socratic before Google is suitable for engineering mathematics too but not the new one...

I liked the other Socratic without Google, I already have Google if I needed it, but Socratic is more helpful and straightforward. It's always just a 40/50% chance to find the correct answer to my questions.

Best app ever......BUT!!! (Do not take it in a bad manner) you need to bring the OLDER VERSION BACK!!. This version of the app is good but not THE BEST. Please restore the older version since it did not have the 'Framing' issue and also the suggestion area had more choices to select an answer from.

So happy I found his app. Only suggestion is to show the full quizlet flashcard. Some have long cues do I can't see the answer and have to go to the website to find it. Very good app overall.
