    Pretty good but has some weird quirks. You can get a motion sensor and a light, but there is no way to simply have the light stay on until there is no motion for 20 minutes. Timer blocks can achieve part of this, but it will turn off at 20 minutes even if you are still in the room. I sometimes get network errors when opening the app as well. Considering the low cost of the sensors, lights, etc this interfaces with though I can't be too harsh on it. It definitely works.

    This app is pretty amazing. I thought I could only connect devices that list this specific app as the one to use, but this is not true. I have connected several other devices that say they have their own app to control said device It makes it so much easier to only have to open 1 app for all my wifi/app controlled things, instead of having multiple apps per 1 device. It's great. I thank you the team that created and works for this app. I highly recommend this app to everyone!!

    The app lacks the ability to automate specific colors or to make your own scenes. This really limits the ability to turn on a preset with a single command. As an example, I have 3 lights in my livingroom and I want to set one to blue, one to red and one to green, and the blue one to 100% brightness and the other two to 50% brightness and save it as Livingroom Colors, which I can then tell Alexa to turn on. But I can't do this because I can only set white settings up like this.

    Its a great app. Paired up with my smart lights right away, thank you. To improve a tad bit, can you add a color percentage adjuster. For example be able to adjust each light to the exact number for a color. Green is 100% & Yellow is 1% & all the other colors are in-between. Making it easier to adjust each light to the exact same color. That would be perfect.

    Difficult to navigate, crashes when I tried to report an issue, and there is only email available for customer support. No phone number, anywhere, and no speed in reply. I would say dont install this app, but you probably have no choice because of the device you bought. If you're going to make a garbage smart home app, you should at least make the devices able to connect through other, better apps

    I live in a small studio, and a local store had a special offer on smart lamps, so I bought three to put in my spotlight in my apartment. So far it works great, setup was simple and easy and I'm very satisfied. My only complaint is that from what I can tell, there's no way to control multiple lamps together. Since I have three separate ones in a spotlight it can get annoying having to adjust them one by one. I wish for a feature that would allow me to "combine" them into one lamp so to say.

    The best! Even through a major mesh wifi upgrade, all my Smart Life devices have worked flawlessly. Getting a new device is hassle free when it's SL compatible. They always detect and set up in seconds. The only minor issue I've had is the app hanging for a few minutes after clicking next when a new device is detected in auto-scan. But once done, no issues. I've tested it and SL devices are just as fast to respond as my hub based devices. I now won't buy devices unless SL compatible.

    This app was great but recent updates have changed the way it works, to its detriment. I use this app for my smart lights around the house, if I'm home I use the app to turn them on and off, if I'm away (which is not often now) I use the timer in the app. Now, once I've switched the lights on it doesn't let me switch the lights off at the end of the night. The only thing that works is if I restart my phone which is very inconvenient to say the least!

    Really like this simple app - it is very easy to name and manage my plugs and create groups. When controlling my plugs with Alexa, the on/off indicators in the app don't always sync up with the current state of use (like the indicators in the app will display as on when the Plug is turned off). Not a deal breaker concerning that, but it would be nice if that was fixed. Overall, a great home automation app.

    The app works good, paired with my Alexa app very smoothly. However there are "scenes" within the app for smart bulbs that I cannot use with multiple lights at the same time. For example my basement light fixture has 3 bulbs in it but I cant set all of them to any of the scenes like "night" or "read" at the same time, so they become out of sync. The Alexa app also cannot access these scenes so I cant say "Alexa, set the lights to 'meeting mode'" as an example. If those things are dealt with this app will be perfect.

    Somewhat works, but doesn't support supported devices in full. Better than nothing but not. When it works its fine, but it doesn't seem to properly poll the devices for functions - I have number of Teckin smart plugs, SP23 and SP27, according to the manufacturer they offer energy reporting. According to the numerous users this app *used to* provide a tab I can't see now - "Statistics" (of the energy use). It's missing now for everyone and the support seem to ignore all the queries and reports.

    I was unsure about this IOT controller when I first downloaded it for smart plugs a year ago. Early on when these IOT devices started becoming cheaper and proliferating our society...I gave several manufacture recommended apps a try. All start out well...but then peter out due to not maintaining their device controller apps. Not only does Smart Life consistently update to improve function of their own IOT's, they deal w\ other companies creating a universal hub for all your devices. Awesome!

    [Update 2020-09-18] Device no longer works with IFTTT. [Update 2020-07-02] Devices now working with IFTTT as of 2020-06-30. [Original post 2020-05-26] App is now useless as it now lacks ifttt support. Had a Ifttt recipe listening for Tasker notifications to turn off and on a smart socket. Now it no longer works. Unable to create automation in app to replace ifttt recipe. Classic bait and switch operation. Also leaving 1 star review on ifttt app.

    What happened? I used to be able to set lights to turn on at a specific brightness for an extensive sunrise simulation, and now that is gone? I can't choose the brightness I can only choose to dim by a pre-set %? I'm really disappointed, because I was finally able to get to in the morning, and now I can't even program the first step of my automation. I am going to find another app to use, because that was an incredibly rude update.

    I use this app with a baby monitor. Initially I used the Yi Iot app, but when I got a replacement monitor, it wouldn't let me use the old software. Smart Life leaves more to be desired. I'd like to see a feature that allows me to turn the monitor off from the app, as well as an option to minimize the video stream and allow other things to be up on the screen while the video appears in a smaller box. The set up was easy, but I just really can't get used to this app at all.

    Pretty good app, notifications work well. One request, can you add the ability to see the device status (open/closed) on the device list itself, instead of needing to go into each device? That would be very helpful, maybe it's already possible, thank you!

    I use this app for the Durablow fireplace smart switch and was great for the first year, come this fall when I tried to use it, the fireplace would turn on for a few minutes then turn off on its own. Even if I tried manually on the device, the app would turn it off in a few minutes. I removed the device from the app, and manually works perfectly. Adding the device back to the app, turns off after a few min. App Tech support is no help as they will not take responsibility to fix the app.

    Misleading. They have a section to change the lights based on different weather conditions. We you cant choose which color you want it to change to. So stupid. I dont know if they can't figure out how to code there own system. Ifttt can do this but its a 3rd party which makes Smart Life look stupid.

    My account has disappeared and so none of my house-filled devices are accessible. Doesn't recognize my account at all so even password recovery not possible. I had to redo everything and every single device in the house. I'm very ticked off and will not trust this service again. Looking for alternative now.

    I just wanted to turn my outlet on/off automatically to smart charge my phone. This app needs access to ALL of your information just to work. I suggest you REALLY read the privacy policy VERY closely. There is no privacy. There is no reason an app should have access to all of your personal info just to turn a switch on and off.

    I bought some smart bulbs and set them up on the automation system timer (which doesn't let you actually use the majority of the settings on the bulbs and is extremely time consuming), and it just isn't working at all. I've checked and dinner checked that all the settings are correct and leave the app running as the primary app on my phone at night, but the bulbs haven't successfully gone through my wake up routine a single time

    My device went offline and there is no reason and no solution. It just says device offline and I can't find anywhere in the app that can actually tell me why or what happened or how to fix it. I guess I just have to delete the device and reinstall? But this app is not user friendly at all.

    Latest update no longer works. This used to be my go to app for controlling my smartplug and other devices, but since the December update I am unable to turn on or off my pmugs, and my scheduled events no longer happen. The app has gone from a 5 to 1 u til they fix this basic functionality. Update: App is broken again. All my devices now show up as offline and I am unable to control them.

    It's okay, I only needed it to toggle on and off the lights depending if it's day or night. 3 stars for being able to accomplish that feat automatically. Stars lost were because setup can painful. The navigation and UI feels lacking and unintuitive. There also doesn't seem to be an easy way to duplicate everything one smart plug does to another smart plug.

    Decent app, decent interface. Would be nice if the thumbnail pics of the devices showed device status so one could preview them in a glance rather than open them individually. Was never able to link my phone number successfully, as I had previously installed the Tuya branded app. Changed to this one because of IFTTT linking, which seems to not work either. Still, 4 stars since everything else is fine.

    Very nice products I have a smart dimmer and a switch. The only problem that start suddenly is that smart switch is closing by it self after some seconds. I checked settings and there is no countdown. I don't know what else to do. Unfortunately this switch is on bathroom and the problem is big.

    Update: It's a huge pain if you ever need to move these. They lose the connection and it takes 20 + times trying to get it to reconnect again. I finally just threw the stupid thing onto the concert floor and stomped on it. I'm tired of spending half hour just to get a plug to work. I'll NEVER buy one of these again.

    The Smart Life app works quite well with lots of devices, including smart bulbs and plugs. I've never had a problem adding a compatible device to Google Home. Since the most recent update, the "XX minutes before/after sunset/sunrise scenes" is finally working for me! This app now controls my plugs and bulbs exactly the way I have it scheduled!

    Used to work, now I am trying to connect to my Google Home. It asks me to login, gives me a phone number option, but I never put in a phone number. It won't take my email address and login. I can't connect. NO way to login in a browser to make changes.

    Works but cant fully figure it out. Automatic scene mode only changes to the last scene i was on, it doesnt change the scene, and thats one of the presets thats a big deal. I want meeting lights on at night and leisure lights in the morning. Same problem with the auto color mode

    Worked great off the start. Then, when I wanted to turn a light on for people coming over, it dropped all my info and treated me like I was a new customer. 35 minutes after everyone arrived - and they watched me fight my way through getting verification codes, etc. - I finally got it working. I was the laughing stock for the evening. Me and all my fancy shmancy gadgets. Never again! BTW - 1 star is too much but they won't let you give 0 stars. Anybody have a suggestion for an app that works?

    Good app when it works. However sometimes it stops controling my smart bulb, which means the bulb is stuck on the wrong colour or brightness and I can't change it. I have to go to settings, clear cache then force stop and then it works. Please fix this. 5* if this is fixed.

    Good app, only problem that keeps coming up is the countdown function for the likes of an immersion switch or central heating switch doesn't work. After the countdown is set and you exit that screen it fails to countdown and switch off. If you set countdown and exit that screen and then go back in, it resets to the minutes/time you originally set and starts countdown again but even if you leave the countdown screen open and wait for it to complete countdown, it still doesn't switch off appliance

    My lights no longer can connect to the app and the app keep telling me to change my broadband settings from 5 to 2. This is a bummer. I can't walk right now and being able to tell Alexa to turn off my lights has helped. Now im gonna have to deal with them again.

    The app is poorly designed, I can;'t read the Current used because the design does not let me see it completely. I can see there is supposed to be a number there but because there is no scrolling you can't see the screen completely.

    The software was recently updated and now prevents you from labelling individual sockets on a smart strip. This was a feature before and was a 5 star product. Now only 2 stars as you have to remember which appliance is attached to which Socket. A very poor "upgrade".

    Stay away from any app by Tuya...if you live in the US you can be hacked and most likely will be at some point. The apps all look the same and are very confusing for any novice or traditional user. This includes Tuya Smart, Smart Life, LaView, HugoLog. Would rate them all zero if I could. Been in the tech industry for 25+ years.

    It is a great app I love being able to control my lights with my smartphone but there are a couple things that could be fixed because sometimes when I pull the string on the light it messes with it so it just doesn't follow with it so I have to keep pulling the string several times so that it will line up with if it's off or on

    For some reason all the time I go on the app it says the device is offline and I need to reconnect my light bulb for it to actually work but when I close the app it says device online and then I can't even use my light bulb through the app or even change colours etc, can some one help me please.

    I use this app on a daily basis and was working well until recent update (~2days ago). After updating, keep having "Fail to load" error... then "network error, please try again 50500"..., when clearly there is network... why update already app becomes buggy? Please rectify asap!

    Unfortunately this app creates duplicate devices in your Google home when used by two different people. Can't believe this is issue because it's basic stuff but there you go. Also, no way to ask for support to fix the issue.

    The app is good but has issues. The timer works perfect for the smart plugs but the automation for smart switch does not work properly. I have switch to turn on and off with sunrise and sunset. It turns on at sunset but does not turn off at sunrise.

    The app is working good but there should be some improvement like in home page if two device is added then it should be shown there which device is on/off cuz everytime we need to click on individual device to see which is on or off.So, there should be on/off light indication on homepage itself.

    Got it to work for a ceiling fan and light, but it was torture. Not clear at all, wouldnt work from my Moto phone, needed to use my LG tablet. Alexa needed at least a dozen tries to link to it, and still says the fan speed commands are unresponsive, even though they do work somehow. Argh.

    Did you guys really create an app that doesn't allow users to re-order their device list? Good Grief! Not much fore thought there! This app becomes more non-responsive by the week. Won't be long before it's not usable. It also has a habit of dropping devices.

    Positives: Not too diffiult to set up Huge negative: my router was having problems and had to replace it. Now i can't find any way to switch to the new wifi router my saved devices and all the functionalities and scenes i have made! Need to delete everything and do it from scratch!! also the user inteface for scenes could he inproved by having smaller tiles / lines

    I wish there was a tag i could put on my phone to just hit like a switch rather than go into the app and wait for it to load while juggling items in the dark until FINALLY the app loads and you can hit the button to control your lamp or whatever item... It also takes some fiddling to add the outlets.

    You can't use Tap To Run to set a custom scene. You can not use Tap To Run to e.g. change to red, then change back to previous state. Shows up in IFTTT as Options Unavailable. Does not work with IFTTT. You can't add new scenes, only edit the existing ones.

    It's time for a rewrite and rating adjust. I did figure out what issues were with what used to be an easy process for adding devices but not with the help of app support. Giving 4 of 5 as deserved rating for software. Would be 5 if support could "support" and also implement fixes from users here and there.

    It was a great app. Was. The recent update caused the app frozen. Cannot turn off the plug after turning on. I have to force stop the app in order to get it back to work again. Please fix the bug!

    Needs to have an option for "present at location" in the conditions as opposed to "arriving" and "leaving". Also can't delete a condition, have to make the whole rule from scratch each time.

    Nightmare to use. Trying to set up a new device. Have entered the WiFi password 10 times. Don't know if it's connected. Can find device that matches. Look totally different. Badly designed app. V frustrating!

    I love this app and didn't realize it was a "generic" one for various brands sold on Amazon, which makes it even better since those brands offer cheaper smart plugs & switches than big brands but work just as well or better! What is the difference between this and your other "Tuya Smart" app (same developer and looks same in app store)?? 🤔

    App worked for years. Recently plugs dropping off. Went to log in and suddenly my account doesnt exist! Emailed support...didnt bother to answer. Cant say how annoyed I am as have a large number of devices and now have no control

    I think the update messed the functionality of the app up because it is hard to add devices again. I feel they should easily connect but I have to keep going through the steps. It is hard to sync with Google now

    Two things need to be fixed. One to be able to turn it off if I want to use my porch without it constantly going off, 2nd too hard to find the video when it goes off. It should just come up after an alert.

    Poor app to start with, complicated home screen which promises much but fails to deliver. Unable to locate a simple wifi light bulb, either manually or automatically. I already have Phillips Hue and should have stuck with that

    Smart life was working great with Google Home. After changing WiFi networks and adding a few more smart switches it won't let me link the account to Google Home! Very disappointed. eWe link works great with Google Home, but not this app.

    Everytime I try opening the application, it never opens. All it does is, when I open, it closes after a while. Even if I force stop this, the problem is still there even reinstalling it. FIX THIS.

    Can't use it any longer. All I get is this error "incorrect local timer, please correct it, 50502." I logged out and now I can't even log in. Also tried reinstalling the app and I continue to get the same error.

    Used to be great then the update deleted all my configured devices and I have to name and reconfigure them all again. The moron programmers need stringing up for updating users devices without allowing them to backup their configurations and just deleting their setup without warning.

    Smart life living app is very good to control my smart plugs that I have got. The only complaint that I do have with it that you have to click a tick box before you can hook the smart plugs up by the app but the tick box is not very clear at all and is not easily prevented out when you've made the mistake of not clicking the tick box at all.

    Worst app ever unable to group lights and set up different color combinations, so unless you want to manually change the color if your light every single time you want yo change them for different occasions dont bother with this app or these lights.

    Automation is still a work in progress. This app is OK and works with google home, but there is a serious and inconvenient application flaw that customer support is unable to understand and convey to the dev team for resolve. Scenario: Task 1 consists of turning off a light after one hour. I turn on the light (starting the initial task 1). I then turn off the light (see below solution). Still within and nearing the end of the initial task 1, I turn the light on again, thus starting what is now a duplicate task 1 and another hour timer. The logs show 2 of the same task "processing". The light turns off while I still need it on and the logs now show the initial task 1 as "processed". Solution: Logic within the app that completes the initial task 1 when the same or duplicate task is started. For instance, something like this: If Task1 set to on, check for any previous tasks with same name and previous start date. If the duplicate is older than now, change status to "processed", then set the currently running task 1 status to "processing". I would appreciate an actual supported solution be implemented. Once that is done, I will update the rating.

    The Tap-to-Run: While there is a color mode setting in the setting when chosen, it only goes through levels of white light. It would be nice to have the ability to select actual colors. It would be nice to be able to tap a setting for "movies" and have the lights I select to go to a certain color scheme. 2. White/Color mode selection: Colors--It would be nice to have a more intuitive way to select colors, whether it's pre-selected color, RBG sliders, Hex value, or all of the above.

    Great app and great support I have several home automation products from several companies. Gosund and the Smart Life application are by far the best. The support is excellent and have all the features I need. The application is easy to use and looks polished. It also works with my Google and Alexa systems which is great. I recently needed help and their support team responded quickly and actually exceeded my expectations. This kind of great customer service is rare.

    Its a nice app but after so many updates still not thought out thoroughly on practical functionality or usability for users. For example, the "slider" button for count down timer is ridiculously difficult to use as you can never slide it to the correct time. Why not just use a field and enter number of seconds or minutes to determine the count down timing? The developer is not able to utilize the KISS principle in software development, and able to make something simple so difficult to use.

    Update: Simple remote control of lights etc are fine but no camera properly alerts. This app is impossible to use, for me, with IPC cameras. In low sensitivity they alert non-stop. I'm in my trial period for online storage. Last night the outdoor camera alerted every 1 to 2 minutes all night. I had a hard time seeing what might be tripping it. I need cameras that trigger recording for a human body. Not a blowing leaf. I also have Nest which rarely falses next to Smart Life, both indoors.

If you have devices hooked to your network itll gather their info. Cameras will be at their will to record.     My smart socket was advertised as being able to monitor electricity consumption. I have gone thru the steps specified and it says no updates are available. I then try to send feedback thru the app but it will not let me type in the area where one should be able to expain the issue. It lets me enter device name, my email, even photos, but the submit button does not work and can't type in the are provided. Please email me how to fix this issue.     Great app, but one huge huge gripe - I use this for setting timers on my devices, and for some reason they are displayed sorted by time, **regardless of day of the week**. Why would I want to see 1AM Sunday at the top of the list and 11pm Saturday all the way at the bottom, separated by so many other timers? The day of the week should be factored in to the sort. There are a few menu or option in the app that is confusing, or written abstractly (example: device-name[room-name]:ON/OFF) and some of them doesn't look good.     Worked fine initially. I had to reset the entire process. The bulbs would not connect. Before you suggest a trouble shoot. Ive got them all covered. No go. I established a new account, used a bulb that I had yet to install. No go. Now I'm returning the bulbs for a more reliable brand. Sad that your company doesn't optimize the Smart Life app for resets and reconnection. I was very happy when they were functional. Recommend 0 out of 10. Will relay this to Amazon opinion also.

    Overall it is a good app. I rate it with two stars because of a huge problem with my air conditioner. When I try to use the turbo mode on it, the app sets the temperature to the lowest possible point so in the summer it never reaches 16 Celsius it over works and it's not cost efficient. Please fix this bug so I can change my rating to 5 stars

    Bought a smart strip, read instructions over and over, tried multiple combinations, simply cannot get it to be recognised by google smart home. occaisionally I can get it to operate via the app. I wonder if part of the problem is the unecessary complexity of registering, and logging on Why does an app need to know my name, tel no, email address and location, just to switch on a light. Edit, eventually got it to work, I wonder if it takes time for you to be registered on their network.

    I love this so much I have 3 smart light bulbs and it's dead handy as I wanted a dimmer but could not get one installed and its great for security to as I can put the lights on with a timer without getting any extra devices.     App works but it is missing a key feature: I can't make a repeatqble countdown. I want my device to be on for 15 minutes, then go out for 15 minutes (repeat) I have to set manual timers but i can only add a maximum of 30 timers so it is useless for what i am trying to accomplish.

    This is without a doubt the WORST app I have ever encountered. I have just lost 2 hours if my life trying to enable this app to find an alarm clock. I have aborted the mission for the sake of my sanity. It is not used friendly, it is unresponsive and it just doesn't work. So disappointing. I will be sending my smart alarm back and warning Amazon customers not to purchase this if they want to use the app. If I could give this minus stars I would.

    It works to get bulb recognized by router and then Alexa can see it. 20 bulbs hooked up and working great for a year. However, recently the color choices my bulbs offer have lost about half their color. Amazon says it is Smart Life's problem. The "saturation" or what I guess I would call the intensity of color has been halved. When I use the slider for saturation with the app it does go to 100%, but there is no chage in color deepness past about 50%.. It is the same with ALL the bulbs.

UPSIDE: ♡ SL-SL allows me to automate my home light system based on weather, my phone location, and more. ♡ I LIKE the Widget. It presents on/off buttons for quick access. DOWNSIDE: ~ The opened app is white. No Dark Mode. ~ I can't use the Widget because it is White. My phone is in dark mode all the time. This Widget is too bright on my screen. ~ The Widget won't recognize my kitchen outlet.

    The biggest problem is signing in. It keeps telling me user name not valid. I'll change my password and try and try again. When I finally feel all is lost it finally takes my user name. The user name I've been entering all along. I'm not the only one this happens to. Bottom line is if you can get in it works fine.

    Multiple emails to their support address, simply get ignored. Extremely POOR integration with Google Home, and they clearly don't care. Even something as simple as a garage door opener - doesn't reflect or maintain the door state, generic icon, zero controls. If you use the Google integration is very unsafe because it's impossible to tell remotely if the door is open or closed. I heard Alexa is exactly the same. This is so basic a "trait" but no update and no replies to support requests.

I recently returned a set of lights because I thought it was the lights that were faulty but it turns out that it is the app that is at fault.     LED colors are not accurate to what it shows in the app in certain modes. It used to work fine but now it's not working like it used to. Can I please get help with customer support? Will fix my rating if you cooperate. UPDATE: Developer never replied to my emails. App was fixed though. Colors are now accurate again on my lights. As you can see above they suggested it was a hardware issue which it was clearly not. 4 stars for app but keeping one star for very poor customer support

    While quirky a bit they resolved the issue I had. Now I was able to create a "DIY" remote and name it what I wanted, eg Soundbar. The button learning on the IR detector worked easily this time detecting each button and recreating it. I did have to create a scene for each button I wanted alexa to read, then rename it to remove special characters the app puts in, then I could command alexa to each button with "turn on (scene name) “ Also they have fast tech support now which is hit or miss.

    You can add an option for users to set the time it takes the curtain/shutter to fully open/close. Default can be 20 sec. As soon as open/close is pressed and operation duration ends - send status change to google API, so that if user asks if shutter/curtain is open/close he will get a real answer. Regarding setting up partial shutter/curtain opening, you can set that if user says set shutter/curtain to x% - it will initiate full closing and then relative time.

Had to sit with a flashing light that reset for almost 5 minutes while I searched for the email and password used to log in. And that is just the account experience. Setting up tasks with the lights? Challenging. Changing light settings? So cumbersome I use the much more limited Google Home instead. And the app doesn't support features like fading lights.
