Started crashing about an hour after use, and I can only fix it by uninstalling and reinstalling the app... Until I starts crashing again an hour later. Also, in the brief period it did work, it did not have strong visual clues as to if you were looking at seen or unseen messages. I had to stop and read time stamps to tell. Honestly, I've tried a lot of texting apps, and this was hands down the worst experience I've ever had with one.

App is OK. But needs the following to compete with other messenging apps 1) Needs ability to attach multiple pictures at one. Currently you can only send one pic a t a time. Very limiting. 2) has trouble sending pics at times. They get stuck in 'sending' mode & if you keep trying to resent, the recipient ends up getting multiple pics of same image. 3) You can't search within a specific person's archived text conversations! The only search function is all texts. Please fix all of these issues!

Fantastic Customer Service with paid subscription - worth every penny!!! This is an excellent app - interfaces beautifully with Windows when combined with the MightyText desktop app by the same company. I freely use the "Help" tab for each question and the Support Team works to resolve each issue ASAP. So helpful - SimplyText and MightyText have made my Windows PC a fully operational text/email work station. // I just updated to a 5G phone and got answers to all my set-up questions. Feeling very grateful for excellent technology and excellent support.

Recent update has added new notifications which crowd my drop down & which FAIL TO CLEAR. This is not an improvement. This app's strength was clean, simple design & functionality; increased clutter NOT appreciated. I hope developer resists user requests to add features becuz then this app is like all the others! Some users prefer simple.

Okay. I went back to old text app when I couldn't figure out I own to change the text sound for all texts. Using the phones notification sound was pretty useless since it could be anything. I was not going to set up notification sounds for every new conversation after I eventually found out that some had text me.

Loved it in the beginning, but several recurring issues are changing my mind. When I receive a text and Touch the notification, it brings me to the right thread but it does not bring me to the message that I just received so I end up having to scroll forever to find where this message is. I have contacted them about this they said they fixed it but I am still having the same issue even after uninstalling and reinstalling the app. The latest issue is that when I get a text it picks whatever sound it wants as a notification sound. I was previously able to choose one sound to be my notification sound if I received a text. Now it just randomly chooses something and it’s never what I have chosen. It appears I have to choose a sound for each and every contact and I just want one sound notification. I am hard of hearing and I need a certain sound so that I can hear that I have received a text. Yet it won’t let me use that sound for the app globally. I want one setting that lets me choose the sound for every text that comes through.. where did that go?

UPDATE: App crashes when you take a picture with it. If you want to send a picture you have to take the pic, then attach it. A notification badge that I can't clear. Clearly, simply text cannot keep up with Android OS updates. I've tried uninstalling and then reinstalling both (+mighty text), restarting from a cold or a warm boot, neither has helped. Reported both problems, their reply is they are aware. Huh. After 1 month from initial review, still no customer service or fix. AVOID!

I've tried Textra, paid for Chomp, and several other SMS apps. Had this one for a single day and already love it far better. Super simple, voice to text easy to use, pic transfer easy…you just have to try it. I never rate/review apps…but this one deserves it. Kudos to the authors. Limited bells and whistles… but stable quality text messaging.

This app was fine when working but kept closing down due to "an unexpected error"- the last time that happened immediately preceded my phone being unable to connect to the internet regardless of signal strengtg- which necessitated a factory reset when nothing else resolved the problem, with the headache that entails downloading all my apps again, etc. I blame Simply Text for that. In fact i tried downloading it again aftwr the reset and the phone began acting sluggishly. So then uninstalled
