Reviews From google play store

Great app usually but ever since the Android 10 update it no longer recognizes podcasts/other audio files I download from the internet. Not really sure why. But now I have to use another player that I don't like nearly as much. Fix it!

Really like this player coming from playerpro. Simple, intuitive, proper EQ and lovely interface. My only gripe, may be a bug is that when I add songs to favorites they seem to come out. Been happening for a while now.

I love it! It's the great simple alternative to Play Music that I have been looking for :)

Good app to use before going sleep. I can set timer and enjoy the songs until i fall asleep.

Great app, music keeps playing even if you accidentally close the app!

One of my favorite music player but once you pause a music in the background the notification would disappear

Have no issues with it can't complain

Does not pick up the Podcast folder.

Better than most of the music players on the app store. So far, it's compatible with MP3, WMA, & FLAC. The interface is fast and very customizable. There are plenty of settings you can configure to your liking. Also there is a widget. Biggest issue is the bugs with the app not taking changes to tags on certain albums/songs. Have a computer readily available if you want to use this app. I bought the upgrade version and I still feel like changing tags will be hit-or-miss. Sometimes I just need to configure manually on a desktop. Fix this. Also the upgrade is $0.99 in-app, as compared to the $1.49 on the app store. Save that $0.50.

Broken as Google Play, unfortunately. I used this for several months then playlists stopped working entirely, genres tab is filled with random number categories, album art is mismatched. I tagged my mp3s and added album in iTunes before loading the phone. it's not the files. IT APPEARS this app is dependent on the same Android "media storage" system app that GPM uses and its all jacked up despite me resetting it. It's a shame because I thought shuttle solved all my frustrations.

used to be it's been crashing on my phone and eating up battery life. once I put it to sleep, every time I play a song, it stops after about 90s of playing. the ONLY way to fix it is to uninstall and reinstall the app. this needs to be addressed..

Best looking music player I have ever used. Having properly working artist and album art really cleans the whole look of music up on my phone. Playback with no pause between tracks is phenomenal for many different albums. Overall a great experience hoping for cast to xbox one support one day :) but that's a feature rare in the android world.

Much better experience than Google Play Music for offline listening. I have a huge library of MP3's on my device and this app makes it easy to browse through my collection. Interface is very fluid and clean.

Amazing, convenient, and simple music player. Only one feature I'd like added. I want to be able to have a favourite album page, so that all my all-time favorites are always easily accessible without needing to search for them.

Used to use Shuttle's folder browser to play music in my well-organized music collection, but playing from folders hasn't worked in a long time. Also doesnt work in the paid version. (!) Adding files from folders to a playlist does nothing, which is an annoying extra step anyway, particularly while driving. It's also easy to make the app crash via the file browser. Was an ok player, but unfortunately no longer useful.

I downloaded this app and paid for the pro version because I wanted to be able to edit the tags and album art on my music files. However every time I try to edit the tags is sits there spinning, telling me its checking permissions and that I should "blame Google". I really don't think anything an app does should be taking more than 30 minutes. If i have to wait that long, I blame the app. I think the "blame Google" is supposed to come off as funny, but it is just unprofessional. Find a fix.

It's one of the first apps I install on a new phone for a reason. I really appreciate the customisability, especially being able download the artist and album art. Only gripe being that clearing cache can sometimes reset the art? Hope there might be a feature to download the images directly into a folder. A progress bar would be nice too :)

Simple and easy, I was sick of Play Music. What this app got right is that you can add multiple songs to a playlist at once! Who would have thought that would be a good idea? Anyway if anyone knows how to select multiple songs on play music pls tell me coz it is well hidden to my eyes.

Love this music player! Gladly bought the pro version. Handles offline music in an intuitive manner unlike Google Play Music. The only issue I've ever had turned out to be a problem with Android's mediastore due to Google not caring about offline music. And the developer was quick to respond with an explanation of the issue and a workaround.

Works great, use it every day. Could use a couple of improvements: the play control notification disappears too fast when music is paused, loading a FLAC song has a significant delay so listening to an album is a little annoying, reading track numbers sometimes fails on FLAC (all say 0), the shuttle service notification is annoying (any way to remove)?

Can the Artists list have a toggle to choose between Track Artists and Album Artists? Currently, it uses Album Artists just like Google Play Music. On the bright side, that means Artist browsing isn't functionally broken like it is in Pulsar and Phonograph, but it also means Shuttle can't get to all the songs by a specific Artist regardless of the album.

I used Shuttle quite a while now and I like it very much. I had problems with the playlist but they are gone now! :)

Used this app for years. Love it. Only issue that the screen has to be on the app or else itll stop the music after a minute away.

This is a good music player, but why this app takes lot of space as comepare to other audio player app.

Needs the ability to add multiple/all tracks from a search using check boxes instead of having to select each track individually.

Best mp3 player i've come across. I just wish you could edit tags with the free version.

Love this app. Just that sometimes the player doesn't show the correct song thats playing on the home screen when the phone is locked or out of the app. Mostly happens when changing songs from the drop down window

The playlists are not working!!!! Please fix it asap! When I click on playlist, it doesn't show anything!!!???

By far, Shuttle is the most visually appealing music player on Android. You can customize various aspects of the interface. The only thing missing is support for ReplayGain

Been using it for a number of years, plays all of the formats you would usually ever need. Simply a good, lightweight music player that suits all your needs !

Its one of the best music app I've had since 2015🙌 I've changed cellphones like my socks and still i prefer shuttle, ive suggested it to my friends and family too 💁

One of the best if not the best music players for Android. Design is minimalistic yet classy, nice customization options and great EQ options. An upgrade to Shuttle+ for a $0.99 is worth it.

It's okay, although the app comes with a QuickLyric app for supported lyrics, quite disappointed that it doesn't have lyrics for all the tracks that I have, but overall, nice little addition to the app

In general I really like the player (I have bought the upgrade to pro, but can't write review there), though there are few issues. One is thast when I delete an album sometimes it still appear in the list (empty) and there's nothing I can do about it (I've ended up hiding it). Another thing is connected to previous one - when I had that situation I also lost ability to control anything, couldn't open any album, playlist, etc. app wasn't frozen though - it just wouldn't let me open anything. Restarting app helped. Another strange thing is that sometimes I can't pause the music. I've thought at first that this was issue with Zwift I that was also running, but today when I was going to work I could pause music either. When I brought app to focus it kinda fixed it, but it's still odd. Will have to try with other headphones. My phone is OnePlus 6T with Android 9. Issues won't stop me from using the player, but it would be great to get them fixed.

Used to work. Updates slowly crippled it. Now can't even play an MP3 from a folder. Chromecast support never worked on pixels 1-3...

It's almost perfect except for some weird visual bug when opening an album and also the music notification disappears randomly due to inactivity

Been using the app for quite some time, recently upgraded to a Nokia 6.1 and for some reason my bluetooth headset's control no longer works for pausing, which is weird because it does for anything else (playback, next song, restart song, etc.), and just for reference it works fine with Spotify. Figured to leave a review for visibility. Keep up the great work!

It is much better than Samsungs default player but Shuttle has been removing features and changing the UI for the worst every update. For example: If you scrolled fast through the Songs tab a scroll bar would appear at the side making it easy to go through my 800+ songs. However this scroll bar was strangely only available for the Songs tab, so it was much slower if you wanted to find a song in a lengthy playlist. In a recent update Shuttle has removed the scroll bar entirely for seemingly no reason. Making it abnoxiously slow to get even halfway down my music list. As I mentioned before Shuttle has also made some poor changes with the UI in that they have made it smaller without adding more options. They have even removed album artwork from the notification window without giving the option to put it back. TLDR: It's better than other music players but it won't be for long due to their tendency to remove the very features that make the app better than the rest.

I loved it. My only problem is when the artist is relatively unknown, it picks some random artwork that has no relationship to the song.

It's really good. It's the only music player I've come across that properly shuffles all of your music without any repetition so that's a plus as well 👍🏻

Recently started freezing have to uninstall and reinstall.. usually after any updates . S9 Normally love this music player but not so much in last 6 mnths

I like this app, but why I can't add songs to a favorite playlist? Thanks..

simple, to the point, nothing super flashy. just amazing, you can personalize and every thing, dont know what else to expect from an music player.

Fantastic...only complaint is that Everytime you upload music to device, it erases your saved playlists

One of my essential apps that I use on a daily basis. Its a really good app. Get the paid version if you want to fully utilize everything it has to offer; it's a worthy investment. The free version does all the basic things that other music players would charge for. And the best part... no ads!!! No questions asked, this would be one of the first apps I recommend to people when they get an Android. Love it so much!!!

Didn't get very far so can't really give it a fair assessment. Was just immediately put off by the fact it's another music player app designed around bloating its UI with random download images. I shouldn't have to manually select hundreds upon hundreds of artist images to replace the low-res or totally unrelated ones. Turning them off entirely turns the app into an ugly barren wasteland of empty visual space.

Best music app for Android by far. This is the only app I use for local music playback.

I've used this app for 3yrs. I liked it so much I bought the pro version a week after trying it for free. I've also suggested multiple times that the app use random embedded artwork as artist artwork. The reason why is that when you download artwork, it clutters your picture gallery with artist artwork and it not just bad, it's HORRIBLY cluttered. It will use embedded artwork for the album's but not artist artwork, it can ONLY download it and then the irritation starts. I won't continue to support anymore. I can get this feature for free in Google Play Music and it doesn't clutter my picture gallery because it's embedded artwork.

This used to be a useful player. But update after update, the playing queue has been more and more ruined. Now it's even completely impossible to get back to the queue once the app was closed. I tried replacing the queue with a playlist. But now it's about five steps to add a song. I have no idea how this app is supposed to be used. Everything seems just badly designed.

This feels like one of the smoothest updates in a long time (and I've been using this music player for quite a while now). The only issue I seem to observe is getting a notification saying "Shuttle is working in the background" when I pause playback and the fact that if I let the player paused for a while, the Shuttle playback notification disappears from the Status Bar. Other than that, fantastic work.

Love the app, best way to listen to your music stored on your phone. Especially because you can set up whitelist and blacklist. And the fact you can customize the themes is great. I swear there used to be a faster way to scroll through the artist list on older versions. Otherwise perfect.

I love everything except the play button and forward & back buttons on the widget are too small, make them a little bit bigger then I'll give 5 stars...

Good music player, with some bugs here and there. My main gripe is that everytime i add new music to my phone, theres a xhance that it will deletw alp my playlists

I Love Shuttle!! Reliable music player. I've had it for 6+ yrs on 2 different phones. It works well but it worked better before all the updates. Now it shuts off midsong from time to time. The ONLY reason why I uninstalled this app is because my new phone does not play wma files with it. So I had to install another one and uninstall this one. Otherwise I'd keep Shuttle.

Cant open audio files that larger than 40mb (im listening audio books) evem pulsar cant. These two were my favorite apps. Now im using rocket media player. Meeh it has terrible design but works

Excellent player. Upgraded to get the Chromecast support. Didn't work no matter what I tried. So, I emailed. Within couple weeks, another patch, and it works great now. I think it's a one-man team, constantly improving, very feature rich, as good as any name brand.

An excellent app with both simplicity and customisability. Highly recommended 🙌

Great player. Been using it for years now. First app I download when I get a new phone

It's great for listening to music on and offline. However it also stops at random for no reason, if I stop it fine that's on me but your cutting out at random for no reason that's a red flag that needs fixing. Everything else is fine on here so far.

The best music player interface for album-based, locally stored music files, which is all I care about, and I tried many options. Album art assignment is a very good, is easier to navigate than most other apps, especially important if you're driving

I used to love this app. But now it has a strange bug which keeps deleting my playlists every 4-5 days. Very bothersome.

After an update, the music auto pauses while I'm driving. Unusable app now.

Absolutely love it and I ended up paying to support the devs, don't regret it at all. One bug I've encountered is when creating a playlist it works wonderfully but when I transfer music files to my phone then open shuttle the playlist gets deleted which kinda sucks but isn't the end of the world

Love It.. so many things you can do.. even rename the songs

Mostly works well with a few minor bugs. Unfortunately, the paid Chromecast support is basically unusable.

I upgraded to pro but the chromecast feature is not working. Please refund me. I then tried localcast and the chromecast worked with that app.

Fantastic music player for Android, clean / simple / effective

Great app, couple I'd small gripes/requests, it would be great if the. Current track continued playing when you cleared the playback queue. Also, if the option to queue an album(at the end of the current playlist) was more easily accessible and not in a nested menu

Good player but buggy playlist editing. Drag and drop doesn't work when editing playlists. The song will move to where you want it, then the screen will immediately refresh and randomly change the order. Using the filters is the onlt reliable way to arrange a playlist, but it is very limiting.

An impressive muzic player, I have used Media Monkey for a long time but I have had issues with Syncing. I can load 55Gb of music and 15 Playlists on to the SD cards in my Android devices. Shuttle can find my music and Playlists and build a music library. Works perfectly for me.

A really great app. It's an excellent music player that plays your music, looks nice, works great. Worth buying. So much better than the big retailer apps that push you to their streaming services, yet have no idea what your tastes are.

Almost perfect, would be better if the Up Next part wasn't taking up space at the bottom of the Now Playing screen, moving everything up a bit. That makes it kinda ugly and cuts off the album art, could it be changed to just an icon?

This is my go to music app. Use it to play music while I tattoo. I just pick an artist, album or playlist from the easy navigation menu, press play and leave it alone. Had an issue with it last week and I asked the dev for help. They figured pt ex's tummy what was wrong and it's been fine since. Thanks!

Smooth, clean and customisable. Easy to use, not too overloaded with features. Very similar to the stock google play music player, but with a bit more customisation and a better quick scroll system. Love it. My favourite music player on Android.

It used to be great, but lately the entire music library disappears from the app again and again, and it has made the app completely unusable. I was planning to buy the pro version, but this has been a deal breaker.

Clean af... No stupid ads or anything to interrupt. Very customizable. And just a very good music app in general. If you download music onto your phone, this is one of, if not the best app to play it on.

Having used this app for about 5 years, it's extremely good. Especially, editting function is the thing I like most

I have found one major problem. Once you edit the metadata of your song, then the app doesn't allow to further edit the same song's metadata. so each is given one chance to do your editing.

Great music player, works brilliantly, and im just not using Google's music player because i just think it's tragic, equaliser is simple and easy to use, the app all in all is just simple and easy to use.

It's good but the biggest downside for me is that files are very unorganized. Looking for a song or podcast file within Shuttle is a matter of inconvenience more times than not, unfortunately.

Playlist functionality is broken. Works with every other music app that i have tried except this one. Shame too since shuttle is my preferred music app.

Good, but needs to support more codecs.

Best audio player I've tried so far. The stylish and minimalistic design is surely eye-catching for me. Of course, the "Play Next" option is present 😁.

got a noreply email from one of the developers after i wrote a crummy review telling me no features had been removed lr made premium in "6 years". oh yeah? then why could i edit tags and use chrome cast a month ago but now all a sudden i gotta pay for features that WERE free? not a good way to do business, bye shuttle

Best music player app I've ever used!! Doesn't assume it knows what my favourite songs are. It just keeps playing the shuffle until all the songs have played. I recommend it to all my friends and family!!

I honestly love this app. I've been using it for years now but everytime I switch my theme colors it switches back to some dumb purple color. everytime. It's so annoying. please fix this issue. I dont want to find another music app

It was actually much better to view the lyrics by double tapping the artwork also my playlists are being deleted whenever I make one

best mp3 player I've used, worth the money for use with Google Chromecast or bluetooth. has band and song info, ok eq. only bad thing when using chromecast is will stop out of the blue, needs an update.

Crashes when deleting a track. Not sure if anybody else has had this issue. Other than that, would be 5/5. 4/5 for now until that issue is fixed.

Keeps breaking..have this issue monthly.... .there is no music in this playlist.. But I'm playing a folder not a play list. uninstall and reinstall seems to fix it every time. But it is still my favourite player

Beautiful music player that incorporates material design excellently. Allows easy editing of tags (even for music on external SD cards), merging of separate folders or "discs," and fetching of album art.

Chromedast does not function. Paid version feels like a scam. Everything else is pretty great... just don't buy for Chromecast support. At least not yet.

Playlist button no longer works since Android 10 update :(

I really enjoy listening to music since i dont have to listen to ads

My favourite player. Lately however, songs have been being removed from my playlists & tagged favourites. This has been going on about once every week. I have to re-add them every time.

After the update, when i open the app, nothing comes up ...

Used to be amazing. Now it just randomly crashes, stops playing, or disappears from the notification bar. I'll be looking for a new player.

Not sure why the Shuffle Album feature isn't available when launched using Android Auto as its the reason why I got Shuttle in the first place, so I could let Shuttle select which album to play when driving.

An essential app. Friendly UI, easily customisable and works well, haven't had any crashes in the last 3-4 years that I've used this.

Working as hard as before but no update? Oh god no. Please don't make this yet another app with Google Material Theme. Please don't redesign this to be yet another app with blinding white interface , giant cards, big text and whitespace everywhere.
