Unreasonable access. I can't open the app without giving access to my contacts and phone. Why? Location I can see if there is a specific update for my country, phone if I need assistance with something however that should be my discretion, but contacts? you don't require this. If I had known this I never would have bought the set. When I return the purchase I will let them know it is because of this.

Smart Control function ended october 2021; only Smart Check function is available. Samsung smart appliance apps have been redirecting me from one that is no longer supported to another that also does not work. Attempting to access for a relative who just purchased 1st Samsung washer. Machine cycles such as Allergen are only available through smartphone. Based on dysfunctional app experience & lack of additional settings, i would not purchase Samsung. Recommending return for competitor brand.

I also downloaded the app without reading the comments below. I am beyond disappointed with Samsung. I have a Samsung washer and dryer and I am going to return it because this app will not work unless you give permissions to allow the app your location, camera and contacts amongst other things. I do not understand why I would need my washer and dryer to know my location nor call contacts in my phone. Very bad 👎 😕 😐

Clear privacy mismanagement. App does not work without taking personal information that it should not need, such as contact history and location.

Riduculous... I will not give Samsung access to my contacts and phone. As if......! Make a better app Samsung!! Begining to have second thoughts about my purchase.....

This app asks for too many unnecessary permissions as many others have noted. I decided to give it a chance anyway and allowed them, only to see a notification that it will cease to support remote control next week. I still gave it a chance, and could not get my devices to connect no matter what I tried. This app is garbage. Do not download, not worth even giving it a chance.

Tried it on my samsung phone and daughter tried on apple. Doesn't work. I agree why do they need to access contacts, location etc. I've had bad apps before but nothing compares to this one.

This application requires completely unreasonable permissions, unless the intent is that you only install it when you're having a problem with the machine and then uninstall it when you're done.

App demands way too many permissions for something used to diagnose. You can't access the app either unless you blindly accept the permissions. A diagnostic tool should NOT require phone call access nor image permissions
