Reviews From google play store

How in the F$$$ do you stop this app and keep it closed? I stop it, close it and it restarts. Over and over. Answer the phone and she starts talking on the conversation. It doesn't pause the music after she says turn on your music. She just talks along with it. What is she saying? I have no idea. The music is louder than she is. Update. Looking for the run I just did. No record of it. POS F-off

It's pretty good I really like it BUT I had to go into my spotify app and lower everything in the equalizer to be able to hear the voice in this app, the volume is so low... And there's no setting to improve this, such a shame

[Update: November 21, 2019] After 5 years of satisfied use, I had an issue. I contacted their support via email. It took over a day, but I received a very friendly and helpful reply and YEA! It's fixed. I had LOTS of data and stuff so it wasn't surprising that it might have had some issues. But wow, so glad it is back! I LOVE this app! Thank you Runkeeper!! Now my daughters and I can track all our runs even though we are far apart. -- I have used RunKeeper for years. I upgraded finally I love the features. It's fun to track with friends on our progress. The goal-setting feature is very motivating for me.

It's pretty accurate with the GPS tracking and other stats which it stores whilst exercising. I like how it compares your workout with previous ones. I mostly use it for when I run or walk. I've got nothing but praise for this app. I took a break from it two years ago (due to no fault of the app, it's because I'd stopped exercising altogether) and when I re-installed it this year, it remembered all my previous stats. I was pretty impressed.

I've been using this app to track my runs for years now - but mostly on iOS. The android version doesn't allow you to filter your activities to search for those in a certain date/distance range. This was a key feature that I used very often on iOS! Oftentimes I want to remember a past 7 mile loop or find which route I used while I was traveling on a specific date to a place I've returned to. PLEASE ADD THIS TO THE ANDROID APP. It would probably take a good programmer an afternoon to implement.

Again, you clarified nothing. Can you explain anything, technical, like maybe, you fixed the problem? Put one foot in front of the other. Runkeeper is letting the App die on the vine by not fixing the App or responding to help, except for their robot sorry to hear about It crashes all time. It's not worth it if you have to use other apps to keep history when you have a paid membership. They don't respond to you either. It's the only app that crashes, no other. Crashes every time at the start.

Second chance to my resolve issues of paying for premium service, but servers were not available for months (its not my responsibility to send you screen shots), cant use stopwatch method without GPS (whats the point of stopwatch mode), cant use app on battery saver mode (whats the purpose of this)? Please tell me when these changes took place in relation to you renewing my annual fee, within 48 hours please and thank you. Andrew

I love this app. It makes starting running so easy. I have run in the past but not in years. I love that the coach tells you when to stop start, and turn around (aka. Your half way point) . The 5k program intervals are very manageable!! I hope it doesn't change!!

I actually paid for this app. Bought it because I want to start running regularly and the My 5k program seemed really useful. I love the coach, Erin, and her voice isn't annoying at all. The issue is that the workouts don't load properly. Currently sitting on my couch (again) waiting for the workout I already did to play through so I can go on my run. Who wants to spend an extra half hour waiting for an app to load in the early morning before a run? Hopefully they resolve this annoying ass issue.

Just started running after 20 years of not running. Run Keeper has been great for motivating me and helping me get back to it safely. I started just doing a walk/run combination, then signed up for a year. I really like all of the options for tracking my runs. The training plans are also very helpful.

I am using runkeeper app since 2015 and still continueing for tracking of my workouts.Customised training plans are very helpful for improvements and achieving goals.

I wanted to try something I hated this year to challenge myself. Runkeeper (Erin) the voice trainer made me love running. It's a very hard challenge. But if you are true to the training (I did 5k) you will be successful in any shape, size, level, age. You name it. Thanks Runkeeper.

I have been using this app for years. I love this app for tracking my walks/runs but when I just checked my progress EVERYTHING between my two walks this week and 2014 IS GONE! All of my activity is gone! I want my information back! I want to know why it was all deleted except for 2014? I certainly didn't delete it.

A few glitches. Worked perfectly for 1 week until I was halfway through a run, it lagged on the pause button then stopped completely - blank screen no response - only 30 mins after I had finished running did it log the activity, which stopped 1.5km before the end of my run. GPS isnt overly accurate either and any truly useful stats you have to pay for. I keep my personal details off of the app for security reasons. (See data use!) You can still listen to music apps while using it.

2nd crash in the middle of a run. 4x I have had to "rerun" a day. 3x I have attempted to contact support, tells me I cannot. I really want to love this app, especially since I paid for it, and I really want to train and run my race! Please fix the problems! And make it easy to contact support.

Excellent BUT it is difficult to pinpoint a specific time at the graphics, specially if you trying to se the end of a specific workout, because graphs are too close to the edge of the phone,. It would be great if you can see each graph individually on landscape mode and allow some more padding at the edges

So I used this app for the first time in a month or two and I have to say, I'm either the best runner or the worst. Today I ran on a track where 12 laps are one mile which to me should have taken 12 to 10 minutes, but according to the app I ran 0.17 miles in 10 minutes and 50 seconds. I don't know if I can add images to this review because the GPS literally looks like a toddler scribbled on a piece of paper with a crayon. I'm not sure if it's because I use android or if the app sucks on tracks.

Have been using this (free version) for over a year now for running. Simple and user friendly interface. The GPS is pretty accurate. Daily weekly monthly stats are useful. Have also given the Asics challenges a shot. Good to keep you motivated. Will probably upgrade to pro and check out the training modueles to train for a half marathon.

A real motivator, but need more goals and challenges for walkers. Not sure what Fitbit integration does, since there is nothing obvious added with that set on either side. You can see Notifications on the website but not in the App. I subscribed to the Plan but that is of limited value so that won't be renewed at the end of the first year. App requires background access to GPS to work Several Default "Share" settings on website expose personal data to "Everyone".

Free version stopped working after an update . It took a second re-install to get it back to normal. This has been a very dependable app for me. It keeps great stats and is extremely easy to use. I tried a few other apps while this one was down and the definitely made Runkeeper look like the quicbooks of exercise apps. None of the others let you track such a large variety of exercises.

I have tried several running apps for my daily 5K and was very disappointed. So, I decided to try Runkeeper. After the first mile it shut down on me. I had to start again at '0' miles! I hope that I am not 'running' into the same problem as the other apps that I have tried. Well...tried again this morning in prep for race tomorrow...same thing!!! Uninstalling Runkeeper...APP DOES NOT WORK!!!

This app crashes often halfway through my run, making it very difficult to use the training feature. I have to delete the half-completed run and then manually input my workout... This decreases the accuracy of my pace calculations as I don't usually know exactly what time I started and finished my run at. This app was excellent until the crashes started. I'll be looking for another run-tracking app.

I've been using runkeeper almost exclusively for a while now, and was satisfied with it until recently. In the past month or so, I've had the app stop tracking in the middle of a run, and I've had multiple instances of it not locating my position unless I pulled my phone out and unlocked it (which I did after not getting my regular distance notifications). Until that gets fixed, I can't recommend this app.

We were doing so well! I'm not sure what happened but I see I'm not the only one. What's the purpose of having an app that doesn't accurately track all my stats. I am glad it's not just me but I don't want to pay for something that doesn't work properly. What's the deal Runkeeper? Is there a solution coming soon? If not, I'm bouncing.

The app worked well for a few months, but the last 2 days after I started it and put it in myvarm sleeve. It would pause by itself. It did this about 8 times. I ended up just setting my phone timer and running. I will be deleting this app and finding another running app.

Doesn't respect privacy - it often gets your location in the background, even when not using the app (thanks to Android 10's new notifications for the info). However, if you block background location, then the app won't work properly when you do want to use it. So if you want the app to work properly, you have to hand over access to your location data all the time.

Easy to use. Doesn't crash and report wrong GPS results like Strava did. Would be nice if you did not have to turn battery saver off on my Android everytime I want to track a run. Voice to report distance and pace is helpful. The coach is only available for free for the first few workouts. Then you have to pay for a membership after that.

The most important feature for me is the ability to follow a route. Runkeeper did this well until recently in September 2019 when it simply stopped working. Selecting a route for the Android app is done in Settings but when the activity is started the route does not appear on the map and all benefit of this feature is lost. Yes, you can see the track you're making but you don't know if you are following the correct route because you can't see it. Very disappointing that this has been broken.

**update** Thank you for the fix. This is now working perfectly so far. I love this app! Good concept, poor execution. Everything on the app looks great. The features look fantastic. They would be if they worked. I've used this app three times now in three days to track my runs. Two out of three times the thing stopped logging less than a mile down the road and I didn't know until I noticed it had definitely been more than 2 miles and didn't get any notifications. This is SUPER annoying.

The iOS app was so reliable and I absolutely couldnt run without it. Just getting back into running again and using the android version and I am having nothing but problems. Just continually ends a run while Im still running, causing me to have 2-3 separate runs saved that were really 1 run. So annoying and seemingly no way to stop this.

Love this app but there are a few things that really irk me. The weather function doesn't work. When looking at a run, it just says "weather powered by Weather IO" but does not display anything. Another thing is that the GPS frequently glitches. When the app auto pauses my run, it glitches on my first pause almost every time, throwing my location back to my starting place before coming back to my actual location when I resume which leaves a big straight line across a GPS map. Please fix this.

Application doesn't automatically switch between running and walking. This is something you'll have to constantly be maintaining manually. Hey developers, it was easy to sign up. How do I remove my account? Probably the app has no such "feature" which means you should be ashamed and seriously reconsider your corporate values.

I'm having a hard time understanding why I have to use GPS for using stopwatch for activities like yoga. Really? I used this app for years, running is really all it seems good for but I need to easily keep track of yoga too. Waste of battery.

Believe me I just don't go around giving good reviews unless they're deserved. An app that actually works. Nice job. I love everything about it. This app does exactly what it says. It has been a great companion during my exercise runs.

Speed is not stable. My speed kept jumping from 5 mph to 12 mph on a steady run. I've been using Runtastic and instead of trying to show your real speed they show your speed in 2 or 3 second averages, giving you a nice stable reading that's actually worth something. Other than the jumpy speed, it does what it should, giving you a nice summary overview of previous runs.

Husband and I both have the paid version of this app for years now. He uses iphone and I use android. Since July 15th we have had multiple issues with heartrate monitor and cadence tracking and logging. I tried my account on both devices same issue yet my husbands HR and cadence worked fine on both devices. Husbands runs are not recording or unlocking properly on either device. Support very responsive but state "known issue" apologize and say they are working on it. Many months later....

Great, more accurate way to keep track of sports and activities!

App is average but lately it has been crashing during a workout and then shuts down and stops tracking. This has happened multiple times over the past few months for me. I have pro but might cancel my subscription if this isn't fixed soon as I refuse to pay for something that doesn't do the basic function for which it is designed.

Serious bug that needs to be fixed. This app is no longer tracking my position or distance traveled when my phone is locked. Only when I unlock my phone will the distance be updated. However, it is inaccurate as it treats the distance as a perfect straight line between when it last knew the distance and now. Will update review when this is fixed.

I used to love this app. However over the last couple of months, when paused in the middle of a run, it simply blanks and crashes. I can no longer rely on this for tracking long runs as I do pause a few times in between. I end up losing distance PRs in the process and that irritates me to no end.

Runkeeper is the best app i come across when it's coming to Running/walking etc. It works flawless with out any issues and most features are available with out spending any money. The best thing i love about this app is audio status and in it we can choose different voices. Boston fan & Mr announcer are my favorite. when you reach each kilometers they person ( audio voice) make funny comments etc. "I see a ice cream parlor near. No, I'm just kidding 😆", " you are doing great out there"etc. 💯

**Edit 10 Oct 19. Just received an email offering "unlimited free workouts" but when you follow the link it's a 7 day trial so not unlimited. This is Illegal in Australia. Pull your head in. This used to be a decent app but nowadays it seems to stop randomly. Finish my walk and it's not running. Doing a walk today I was only 3 km into it and when I went to check the status it wasn't running. Piece of rubbish now.

Almost perfect. It has 1 annoying bug that misreports your split time. (For example it will say your previous split was in 0 minutes and 0 seconds.) But that's the only problem I've had in my years of using it.

Had a bug for a few weeks. They responded to my emails as I sent them - other than the very first one which may have been misplaced dieting a holiday weekend. They've fixed the bug, the app works perfectly, and I've had a great experience using their premium service!

It's a good app but lacks one very basic feature. If you are following a personal plan of say running 3 times a week, and do one of those runs in stopwatch mode on a treadmill you can not link that activity to your plan. Website support is very poor.

Used to work perfectly, but the last update on my Android has started messing up my GPS data. It looks like the app pins the start of my workout to wherever I was when I launched the app, NOT where I am when I actually hit the start workout button. Incredibly frustrating! Please fix!

I loved Runkeeper on my iPhone. The app does not suit my Android (Google) phone. The stats all pile on top of each other, and the GPS is not accurate. I recommend this app for runners with Apple, but I definitely think the app developers need to do some work on the Android version.

Excellent for an average user like me. Absolutely everything I needed. Logging time and distance with notifications every half an hour (you can set it differently). You can probably do really a lot more with this app but for me the above are just perfect

The app needs to be stopped manually, when the distance is completed. This results on inaccurately providing the wrong time when the distance was reached... Other than this con, the rest of the app works perfectly.

Sometimes it registers an impossible very huge value of cadence at the beginning (bigger than a million steps per minute), so the chart of the rest stays as an horizontal line. Fix this and I change to 5 stars!

Routing has been problematic since 2 weeks back. Was working just fine before but the last 2 runs have shown incorrect path and distance. I wonder if this has to do with Android 10 update. I've already excluded this app from being restricted. Please fix asap! Pixel 2 XL user.

Used to be a good app but now it can't track my routes. Instead it tracks distance via the crow flies instead of actual route taken. Very aggravating when trying to figure out distance. Hope it gets fixed soon else I'll have to find another app and start over.

Great for tracking daily, weekly, and monthly progress on all types of physical activities. I especially like the bicycling where the routes, elevation, and time periods are recorded. I use this app on a daily basis and would not have made the gains I have accomplished without this tool.

I love this app it gives me a great training calendar to follow for my races. I've used it for 5k all the way up to marathon training. The new features and interval training runs are excellent.

Pretty decent app if you just want the basic workout tracking. Runkeeper pro so far has felt a bit lackluster but being able to finally compare stats is reslly nice. I'm sure eith s better tutorial to the app I could use the features a little better. But at the end of the day i gotpro for a year for less than £20. So can't complain

The app's great to track runs and my personal favorite of all the apps I've tried, but for some reason when I add a picture to the activity from my gallery, it rotates the picture and saves it. Not sure why it's happening.

This app used to work well to track hiking/biking. But now, near the end of my hikes/rides, it freezes on a white screen, which can only be resolved by hitting the back button, canceling your hours of work. I'm deleting this app in favor of Strava.

Facing a problem that I had to run with the app opened and screen on. If I turn off the screen the route tracker doesn't track the route and eventually shows less distance travelled. Other tham that everything works fine. But think have to switch to some other app.

Absolutely the best app for training to run. Had a tough time dealing with other apps before settling for this one. Easy usage , comprehensive analysis and quirky voice motivation keeps you amused and moving. Wish it had a metronome too. That would have been the icing to the cake.

Used to be my favorite app...but recently it's been struggling to accurately track my runs. I'll get done with a route that I know is around 4 miles, and this app will tell me I've only ran like 1/2 mile. It seems like it isn't syncing with my GPS or something.

Have used runkeeper for years but lately it has not been tracking correctly. The activity starts and the timer but no distance stats. Have had this issue before but it's incredibly annoying to get back from a big run and see 0 on the distance covered!!

Two star, this app crashes stopping registration, happened to me today after 50km cycling, quite frustrating I must say, luckily the data was saved on the web site, which make me give it two stars instead of one

At 39.99 per year simply not worth it. Be warned every year the will "accidentally" have problems with your credit card and increase your subscription price. Was a long time user until they continued to increase my price instead of grandfathering in the rate as originally promised.

For the past 3 years, i am satisfied and recommended this app, until this past months it suddenly stopped tracking my run 3-6mins after i started. I uninstalled it and installed again but nothing good. I am uninstalling it for now. Hope it will be fixed.

Good app. There are some glitches with loading maps to tun with or user error. Not sure because I could never figure it out. It is a fairly accurate run keeper.

The app originally had a free training feature but now they charge for it. That's what had made it a stand out for me but now they charge also, so its pretty much like any other run tracking app.

I've been using this app for a couple years now. I don't have premium because the basic features are more than sufficient and function great. I've got numerous friends moved over to this and the activity feed and challenges are great. Perfect running app.

I used to really rely on this app but now it doesn't work anymore. It supposed to run in the background during your workout but now it just ends your workout every time you turn the screen off. I even updated it hoping for a fix but no. Very disappointed.

Been using now for 2 years surely. Excellent in all respects. Outstanding help to a person intersted in running and keepong track of it. I only run so know only about its use to runners.

I've tried many of the most popular tracking apps and always come back to Runkeeper. Many features in the free version that are in-app purchases with other apps such as Strva. Ability to set up your own workouts with voice prompts is brilliant. Woul give it 10 stars if I could.

Convenience. User friendly. Track progresses using GPS as well as the speed hence enable one to reflect and improve. Able to work in the background as well. Add friends who are using the same application to improve together. Thank you!

Used to be a great app, now it's just buggy and annoying. GPS is having issues and you can't edit your run (unless you upgrade of course) to include the half it missed. Wouldn't recommend it anymore.

Easy to use but not easy to set up. I'm decreasing my rating. Months after connecting this to Walgreens Balance Rewards, I discovered I didn't get a single point despite all the exercise I did. You owe me!

-edit- After some digging turns out my GPS was acting weird and the app wouldn't recognize it was running. Fixed the issue by turning my GPS Tracking to high. Works like a charm again. Back to tracking. (Old review removed)

Have been using Runkeeper for 2 years to track walking and running (which for me is jogging). GPS accuracy, mapping, displaying minutes per mile pace, place to record notes on weather, route notes, etc make this an ideal app.

Runkeeper is in beta stage. Two times it has faulted during my running and it feels frustrating that after 32min running, it is showing half km. Kindly return my money, I have taken full year subscription. It was my mistake.

It's been a fantastic experience! I've improved soooo much in the last few months. I wasn't able to run even 2 minutes straight and now I can run 5-10 km non-stop!!! Great app!

The share graphic is broken. If I log a swim that is 1600 meters, post it, and then go to share it, it will say 1600 MILES, which is a bit of a stretch to say the least. Switching to Km results in a similar graphic.

This app has finally motivated me. One step at a time the coach is telling you how to improve and how to perfect your form. I've learned about myself and encourage you that if you're going from the couch to 5K this is the way to do it.

This is the best free app to check my running. An upgrade to premium is possible, but if you are looking for a basic service this is all you need! 😁 Great app! Thanks to the programmers!

Great app, missing a few features that apple version has. Please add these developers: tags, filters, and pocket tracking. Also the ability to edit the title of an activity after saving it would be great!

Great app. Nearly accurate gps tracking, voice reminding you of Ur pace/speed,distance etc,at regular intervals, Statistics chart at the end of race...Options for customisation...fare amount of free features...overall great...

My favorite part is runkeeper keeps all of my runs. I can look back years to see my progress. I also like the ranking of each run.

Logs my daily walks. Nice UI provides for a great UX. Easy to use and very accurate. Lots of great features such as running total and goals.

I used to use a different app and it was quite accurate so i know how much i run . When i used this app it picked the shortest path of my run like a line on few points . Not like tracking exact path ..really disappointed me

Works well for free App. Got to pay for anything more than saving run times/splits/ave pace etc. But logs weekly/monthly/yearly totals which is good enough for my needs.

First and last run on this app was a circular. Instead of timing the run as such it just linked up 3 points in a triangle turning a 3 mile run into a much slower 1•6 mile one.

I have used many similar apps, but nothing is as comparable as this. Very precise in distance measurement and extremely user friendly. Using it from one month as I'm praticing for a marathon .

I had been enjoying the app until I realised that it's syncing with Fitbit is way off. A 12 minute run on Fitbit becomes 13 minutes when synced with Runkeeper! Please fix.

Very accurate with distance, nice colored screen which is easy to read, and I love the voice it's nice and loud and you hear your distance and time much better than that Map My Run.

Awesome for running. Would be great if you could also add other activities like biking, etc, but this is a specialized app. I love the voices, too

Got rid of Wear OS support, which means my Pebble no longer lets me view stats and control my activities. To add insult to injury, it keeps not letting me save my runs. I press "Save Activity" and it just loops back to the save screen without logging anything. App is useless now.

Everything I need in a running app. Logs and compares. Tracks progress against personal goals. Spot on GPS accuracy too.

Very easy to keep track of but still has great details about your run. Easiest motivator to run even with just the free version!

Best running app I have used. Works great on pixel 2 with Pandora running at the same time. Can tell you your pace on time or distance intervals as well as distance an other metrics while you run.

I've only used RunKeeper and Strava for Running, but RunKeeper is my Main App. I like how it tracks my weight and set different goals. The free interval plans are awesome too! Great support team as well!

very accurate app, use it every day for running, walking and cycling. Have to update my rating....unless you have internet or wifi connection you cannot open the app at all.

I like the conscience voice over and the interval stats. Would like a distance goal though, not just a time goal. I run 5km every time and there is no goal setting for that.

I have used this applications for more than 3 years, its the perfect application to monitor your activities and progress, accurate and smart design, honestly im so happy to use this application I would like to Thank the team behind this great application

Ever since i changed to android, the app keeps crashing. It has never been able to record any of my activities.

precise location (GPS and network-based)
Allows the app to get your precise location using the Global Positioning System (GPS) or network location sources such as cell towers and Wi-Fi. These location services must be turned on and available to your device for the app to use them. Apps may use this to determine where you are, and may consume additional battery power.

view network connections
Allows the app to view information about network connections such as which networks exist and are connected.

full network access
Allows the app to create network sockets and use custom network protocols. The browser and other applications provide means to send data to the internet, so this permission is not required to send data to the internet.

run at startup
Allows the app to have itself started as soon as the system has finished booting. This can make it take longer to start the phone and allow the app to slow down the overall phone by always running.

control vibration
Allows the app to control the vibrator.

prevent phone from sleeping
Allows the app to prevent the phone from going to sleep.
