RPM Speed & Wow lets you either look at the speed of your turntable, or measure the average speed, min/max variations and wow value. Put your phone on the turntable the nearer to the center as possible, and you can: - start the turntable and look at the rotational speed of it; - click "start" on the app and start the turntable: the app waits 10 seconds in order to have a steady speed, then acquires data for other 10 seconds and displays average, max-min RPM values and wow estimation. While still spinning, the app becomes red where the turntable runs faster than the average, and blue where the turntable runs slower. The feature is active until the phone is lifted up from the platter. Offset correction: if you do a measure with the phone flat and steady, the mean rpm value will be automatically set as an offset for the next measurements. Offset correction remains active until the app is closed and reloaded. Active Offset-correction is indicated by a text message. Click "reset" to reset the app to do another measurement (this does not reset the offset of the current session). Click on the speed number to re-align it. RPM S & W requires that your phone has a gyroscope. Uses jjoe64 Graphview library. Enjoy vinyl listening! Update history: 1.6.8 - Wrong message when the speed is "perfect": corrected. 1.6.7 - The offset correction now applies also to the text rotation. - Big bug in offset-correction corrected. 1.6.5 - Correction for gyroscope sensor offset added: if you do a measure with the phone flat and steady, the mean rpm value will be automatically set as an offset for the next measurements. Offset correction remains active until the app is closed and reloaded. Active Offset-correction is indicated by a text message. 1.6.0 - Colorfest! Now the app becomes red where the turntable runs faster than the average, and blue where the turntable runs slower. You can see where the speed changes happen. Achtung: don't worry, variations are totally normal in every turntable! - Sensor noise filtering algorithm was rewritten. - Clearer (and greener) average line in the graph. 1.5.2 - Average line in the graph view added. - Solved a graphic problem with certain text size general settings. 1.5.0 - Major update! Graph visualization of the acquired data. - Better management of the sensor noise. - Increased resolution of the acquired data. 1.1.2 - Wow algorithm's resolution improved. - Minor graphic modifications. 1.1.1 - Wow calculation error message corrected. - Calculation of the deviation from the correct speed corrected. 1.1 - Added Wow estimation! - Added 16 2/3 rpm to the recognized speeds. - Now the average RPM shows with 2 decimals. 1.0.1 - Minor update: controls if your smartphone has a gyroscope. 1.0 - First release.

I have a 40 year Japanese direct drive turntable. I had been noticing that it was having speed stability issues. Because I love this turntable, I picked up a backup a few years ago. The old one tested at 0.31-0.41% by the app. The "newer" backup tested at 0.03-0.04%. Bam, old one has a problem. Duh, to the guy dumb enough to put his phone on the mat and it spun off, use a record weight over the spindle, then put the phone on the record weight, dead center of the platter. Phone won't move.

This is a great app I got a new belt for my turntable and the person that had it before he must have had it cranked up pretty high cuz the belt that was on it was pretty stretched out so I had to readjust the screws underneath down a little bit the app was really easy to use and understand runs perfect now good job

I wanted something simple to check the speed on my new used turntable and adjust it accordingly. This app does the job fast and is extremly easy to use. Idea for improvement: It took me a while to find the notes how to use it (maybe it is just me). I guess a "How to use" button that shows a simple list of steps would make things even easier for users that do not have much experience with the app store. Rating of 5 because everything works just fine. Thanks!!!

I downloaded your app to me phone and I am very happy with it. I had a problem with my turntable where the motor was designed to operate at 60 Hz. years ago I moved to a difference country where the voltage was 220v and 50 Hz, instead of the 110v and 60 Hz. Clearly, the rpm of the TT was off by 10% and it sounded it. Instead of chasing after a new motor (from a company that no longer exist) I simply 3d printed a new pulley and the problem was solved. Your app was a critical part of the QA process confirming the speed(pulley diameter) was right. FOR THAT I AM GREAT-FULL TO YOU !!! I did noticed a problem ,however, after taking multiple readings of the TT rotation, the program seem to get "STUCK" and refuse to reset itself. The numbered display would keep on turning despite the fact that the phone was no longer rotating on the patter, it would simply refuse to stop. Even after a hard reset the app would come back up as if it is resting on a rotating patter..... I love the app and I am grateful to you and admire your talent.

Worked! I have a Fluance, apparently many of these tend to start dragging without any real reason. Didn't want to go to Tulsa for a strobe disc, figured I'd see if there was an app. Score! & too any that read where it's not perfect w/Samsung, I'm using an S10, & no problems great app! Handy. Now if someone would sell me an old school Pioneer Pl 10, or 12. I'd have it all, tomorrow the world.

Very useful free app for vinyl heads. I checked the accuracy with my turntable's strobe when going exactly 33.33 RPM, & it measured 33.27 RPM. Finally figured out how to recalibrate - simply put it on a level flat surface (motionless, like your properly levelled turntable, not turned on) and press "Start". This will reset the system. After re-calibration, the app measured my table at 33.32. Decent! The wow spec will bug audiophiles, however, as it shows higher readings than published specs.

I always knew my turntable was a bit off by a few RPM and your app confirms it. Thank you for that. And also this app is quite simple and very easy to use so thank you very much! Oh but there's one thing. When it tried to pick up rpm of my TT at 33 1/3rpm and the reading shows around 30rpm, it told me that it's not a real turntable speed. Overall it's great to overview your turntable performance.

It works! I installed the app on two mobile phones, an S7 Edge and a P20 PRO. They gave me pretty consistent readings and helped me readjust my turntable speed because it had drifted somehow over time. I got a speed of 33.2 rpm and a wow of 0.16%, which is rather good for an 8 years old belt! I guess I should be getting me a new one soon. In conclusion, this is a very good app. I would pay gladly two or three EUROS if the app would keep updating and all.

The actual measured speed seems to accurate because I'm getting similar results from two different apps but the Wow and Flutter seems totally arbitrary. My LP60 is consistently reading 3-4 times the spec of 0.25 and there's no way it's that messed up unless I'm going deaf or it would sound like someone playing with the platter as it ran. EDIT: turns out it was a user issue. I balanced my phone closer as I could to dead center propped up on the spindle and got much more believable wow/flutter ratings of 0.29 which is within .04 of the rated spec. I guess there's something with the way it uses the accerometer in the Galaxy S8 where it just doesn't like being off-center on the table. Upped it to 5-stars

This app is amazing. 5 stars! It doesn't play well with Samsung phones though.. It'll read 0.2 fast. The Samsung gyroscope's must be off. I wish there were a way to tare it for Samsung. I use it on an old LG. Doesn't like my NOTE 9, S9 plus of Note 8. They all read 0.2 rpm fast. Works on LG phones. Great tool to help setup a turntable.
