I absolutely love rif is fun. Just upgraded to golden platinum, kicking myself (figuratively) for not switching sooner. It's Reddit, how I want it. Imagine a good mobile Reddit experience, and this is somehow better. That is except for the occasional video not loading unless you open in browser. I think that shouldn't be fixed, however, otherwise we'll have absolute perfection, which breaks the laws of physics, and would cause the collapse of the universe as we know it.

  2. Martin Gonzalez-avatar

    Martin Gonzalez

I was foolish. It was a problem with android that was causing crashes, not the app. RiF as an app is far superior to the base Reddit app or just browsing on mobile. I decided to buy the premium after using the lite app for many years, and was frustrated that I could not get it working. Turned out it had nothing to do with RiF. My mistake, and glad to support the devs after so long.

  3. Jenessa Gilley-avatar

    Jenessa Gilley

I've used this app for YEARS! and it's definitely my preferred platform, but lately I've had to uninstand and reinstall, sign in and out cause it's giving me a notice that ALL of reddit is a private subreddit and it's only not working on my account on RIF. Please have a look into whatever this bug is cause it's very frustrating.

  4. sean mm-avatar

    sean mm

A solid Reddit reader that is regularly updated. I have been using it for years and it has continually been improved upon.. Definitely dramatically improves the experience of browsing Reddit on a smart phone.

  5. Amanda Musgrove-avatar

    Amanda Musgrove

Won't let me read anything, gives "error: private subreddit". If I log out and restart, it works for maybe 10 min then back to the error. Tried emailing the devs for help, but got no response. Unusable for me, sadly.

  6. David Villwock-avatar

    David Villwock

Literally broken right now. Bought it the other day bc I wanted to support the developers of RIF which I have used for years, but this version is nonfictional at this time. Nothing loads. I've reverted back to the free version in the meantime which still works fine, with adds

  7. Dom Rubino-avatar

    Dom Rubino

I have tried a few different reddit apps over the years and RIF is the clear winner for me. After using the free version for countless years I came to the conclusion I should compensate the developers for the value they have provided me. The free version is excellent, the ads are minimalistic, but if you really like it I believe you should buy the paid version to show your appreciation.

  8. Darren S-avatar

    Darren S

I've been using this app for many years, possibly as far back as seeing it's inception. I can honestly say that I've never had any other app have such consistent high quality for the level of functionality. I have no complaints, and want to thank the developer for being such a great force. I wish I had donated more money back when I was working, but as soon as I'm back I'll make sure the coffee's on me

  9. Dave EN-avatar

    Dave EN

Good interface for reedit on mobile over several years. Highly recommend.

  10. Space Charkie-avatar

    Space Charkie

Been using for years, very clean layout with perfect black for AMOLED. Good tablet layout with a robust filters system to make the site usable. Was very happy to pay for pro and remove adverts.

  11. Dominik Kaiser-avatar

    Dominik Kaiser

Make sure to update Android System Webview or the app will crash upon tapping and external link

  12. Shanna Hendrix-avatar

    Shanna Hendrix

Way better than the main reddit app. This one is easy to navigate and doesnt have a bloated feel. Even the free version of this was great, but obviously i like not having any adds to accidently click on. 10/10 would buy again

  13. Dan Leclerc-avatar

    Dan Leclerc

It's good. Intuitive and easy to use. If you like reddit you will like this app probably.

  14. Justin Lye-avatar

    Justin Lye

Some sort of glitch on the app store won't let me install this app on my phone and tablet at the same time. Paid for it on my phone to support the devs, but when I try to install it on tablet with the same Google account, it asks me to pay again.

  15. Joseph Santoro-avatar

    Joseph Santoro

Crashes everytime I try to share anything! This app SUCKS now! Previous: I've used this app since the OG Droid, but it's become unusably SLOW… and it's getting worse & worse, but the devs don't seem to care to fix it or provide a wild goose chase of a 'solution' that doesn't treat their loyal users like complete morons! I'll be trying other apps for the first time in years until you remove your heads from between two cheeks.

  16. David Corman-avatar

    David Corman

Links not working on oneplus 8. love app, will give better score when fixed.

  17. Carl Patenaude Poulin-avatar

    Carl Patenaude Poulin

FYI latest version has a freeze bug on large comment threads.

  18. Evan Wright-avatar

    Evan Wright

Great alternative to the official reddit app. Been using it for well over 7 years and rarely do I have any complaints. Bugs are fixed relatively quick usually. Highly recommend

  19. Adam Burley-avatar

    Adam Burley

The best reddit app for Android, period. After using it for free for years I paid the pittance for an upgrade just to support the author. Easy to use lightweight, updated regularly.

  20. Joseph Gardiner-avatar

    Joseph Gardiner

Buy it and support them! So much better than any other offering. Only improvements I'd like would be real time inbox notifications

  21. m271-avatar

I prefer the reddit boost app. The videos auto play as you scroll. This app you have to press the image then press play. I should have purchased the add free boost app. This app is fine though. Just my preference.

  22. Scott Bingham-avatar

    Scott Bingham

I used the free version for years, and finally opted for the paid version to pay the developer.

  23. Michael Y-avatar

    Michael Y

Slowness after last update. Takes literally up to 30 seconds to load certain threads. Actually not usable. $ spent for what.

  24. Molly Doxen-avatar

    Molly Doxen

    No ads, it's perfect!

  25. Devon Gregory-avatar

    Devon Gregory

Suddenly unable to log in or see any content. Will update rating if fixed soon.

  26. Malek Haltam-avatar

    Malek Haltam

Best reddit reader. App was flawless up until latest update, now every gif won't load and I've messed with all the settings. Still my#1

  27. Brian Lang-avatar

    Brian Lang

Photo galleries rarely load anymore. I constantly get the "tap to reload" screen.

  28. Ryan G-avatar

    Ryan G

Better than the native app by far. Does not include features such as awards, chat, and avatars but that is the case for every 3rd party app and that is entirely Reddit's fault

  29. Stoney Frederick-avatar

    Stoney Frederick

Great Redit app. Easy to use and the layout is great.

  30. Anthony Seay-avatar

    Anthony Seay

I'm not a huge fan of the new reddit interface. RIF provides a great simple interface without sacrificing features. Best reddit app I've used.

  31. A Long-avatar

    A Long

Really simple to use and clean. Been using for 4+ years now, very happy with this.

  32. Chris Arnold-avatar

    Chris Arnold

No clutter, clean beautiful interface. Best reddit app out there. Highly recommend.

  33. n m-avatar

    n m

very slow to open video and almost unusable thanks to update

  34. C T'word-avatar

    C T'word

Would buy it again if that was an option. Works great, lots of features and looks good too.

  35. Daniel Womick-avatar

    Daniel Womick

For years rif golden platinum has been my go to reddit app. I keep telling everyone I know to make the switch especially compared to the official app

  36. Melvin Patton-avatar

    Melvin Patton

This is the only way I can look at Reddit anymore. Reddit is now, for me, a purely mobile experience, thanks to this app.

  37. qhungg289-avatar

Use the free version for more than a year. Decided to finally buy this version, absolutely worth it.

  38. Tyler Gustafson-avatar

    Tyler Gustafson

Does what you want but as a smaller app takes some time to fix and update when something new on reddit breaks it. Currently can't open any gifs

  39. Kyle Smith-avatar

    Kyle Smith

Is it possible to support addons in the built in Web browser so we can get adblocking installed?

  40. Josh Raye-avatar

    Josh Raye

Feels clean and intuitive to use. I like it more than the official app.

  41. Anon Amos-avatar

    Anon Amos

Great app, million times better than the official one.

  42. Germain Gano-avatar

    Germain Gano

A lean and much more stable alternative to the other app.

  43. Ralf Riegel-avatar

    Ralf Riegel

I've been using this app for years (maybe 7+years?). I tried some of the other Reddit apps and I keep coming back to this. It does exactly what I want. I recently purchased the pro version to remove ads but primarily to support the developers. Con: Logging in with 2 factor enabled is a little weird. But it's smooth sailing after that.

  44. Daniel Henson-avatar

    Daniel Henson

Good and pretty minimalist. Only reddit app worth using.

  45. Sher Chowdhury-avatar

    Sher Chowdhury

Love this. I've been using it for several years now.

  46. Carter Wreford-avatar

    Carter Wreford

100% worth it to pay for no ads. Better than the official reddit app where you will sometimes see 5-6 ads in a row disguised as posts. Updated: still my favorite Reddit UI on mobile, but certain features are dying out or not being brought to this platform which is super annoying.

  47. Kyle Bittner-avatar

    Kyle Bittner

I like the ability to go to other subreddit that you aren't subscribed to easily

  48. Troy Kristoffer-avatar

    Troy Kristoffer

I use this every day. The best Reddit reader app I have ever found so far. I love the organization of the posts, the UI is easy to use. I love that the app supports multireddits, and best of all, I can BLOCK ENTIRE SUBREDDITS from my feeds! I have basically created my own newsfeed by filtering out all the junk from the regular news feed. This is extra helpful since Reddit's own multi-reddit system seems to be completely broken and wont show new posts. The only thing I have negative to say is that it has been damaging to my sleep cycle because I'm up all night reading reddit.

  49. Simon Anthony-avatar

    Simon Anthony

Best Reddit app. Had the free version for a long time, but I recently decided to upgrade to support the dev team.

  50. Stephen-avatar

Latest update broke image and link upload. Was working fine before. I'm sure you'll get it fixed soon. Support and big fixes are always good for this app

  51. Josh Ryan-avatar

    Josh Ryan

Does gfycat links no longer work at all for anyone?

  52. Kevin-avatar

Great way to browse Reddit. I used the free version for years until I found out about this paid version. It was an instant buy and I haven't regretted it yet. If you prefer the "classic" or "old" look of Reddit - this is the program you want!

  53. Miktor Velaxtor-avatar

    Miktor Velaxtor

Absolutely the best reddit reader. Been using it for years. I've tried the official and bacon reader, and this is way better than the standard, and also better than bacon reader. The ease of browsing makes it such a joy, that I sometimes prefer using this to desktop reddit browsing.

  54. Jon Cooper-avatar

    Jon Cooper

Great app. I love the minimalism compared to the main app which shows a video of men laughing about DIY or something. I can more easily get to the moderators links to tutorials, etc, with this app.

  55. Alexandru Dominte-avatar

    Alexandru Dominte

rif golden is still my reddit driver client, BUT please try to fix unrelated card images for twitter news. I'm not interested in ready F1 or Technology news and see half screen of a pixelated dude (tweet author)... if there's no relevant image in the news/tweet just dont show me anything. keep it simple text entry.. please.

  56. Mike Lee-avatar

    Mike Lee

After years of using the free rif, thought I'd buy the Pro version to support the dev. Thanks for making such a solid program and maintaining it over all these years!

  57. Kevin Merrett-avatar

    Kevin Merrett

Switched from basic to paid version because the free version wouldn't load galleries. this version doesn't seem to be able to load from gfycat. :\

  58. Philip Fernandez-avatar

    Philip Fernandez

This is the best way to view Reddit. It's better than the official app, by far. And it's better than the web experience as well. The only thing that competes with it is the old web experience prior to the redesign.

  59. Matt Craig-avatar

    Matt Craig

Just had to uninstall and reinstall it to fix infinite spinning on launch following a password change (tried everything else I could think of/google). But other than that, it's a great app!

  60. Ian Matthews-avatar

    Ian Matthews

I've been using this for years, simple, but all the functionality you need (except fixing awards, which is not the fault of the dev's of this app!) Worth paying for!

  61. Trae Davis-avatar

    Trae Davis

This is the true Reddit App for Reddit users. It had official support for a long time before Reddit went full power and money hungry and started sending out legal cease and desists. Tons of great features with a classic simple look. Also has tons of moderation tools and capabilities.

  62. Samuel-avatar

The best reddit app by far; the most customizable, function-rich and comfortable. Only thing it's missing is displaying awards from the new reddit system (anything other than silver, gold and platinum).

  63. Maxim S-avatar

    Maxim S

Completely ignores non-rectangle screens. Bottom comments are cut off on devices with round corners. If screen edges are round then paddings also insufficient and text bends over.

  64. Christopher Barton-avatar

    Christopher Barton

Love it. Just wish cakedays were apparent.

  65. Edward Battaglino-avatar

    Edward Battaglino

Used it for as long as I can remember, best reddit mobile client hands down

  66. Kevin Heinze-avatar

    Kevin Heinze

Not happy with premium. I frequently have errors that prevent me from seeing any posts. Namely, "Error: Private Subreddit" when I refresh the front page! No threads visible on the front page!

  67. Julio Cruz-avatar

    Julio Cruz

Cant upload photos. Great job. With every update, something else gets screwed up.

  68. Hilarious03-avatar

I like the app so much that I rather pay to have no ads, it's constantly updated and it just works. Always a pleasant experience!

  69. Paul Won-avatar

    Paul Won

Got the paid version cause I used the free version for so long. Best reddit app

  70. dave berg-avatar

    dave berg

Does things all on its own, gold isn't available to give and getting gold does nothing for me, still getting "you're doing too much wait 10 minutes" popping up which is really annoying.

  71. Dustin Karrat-avatar

    Dustin Karrat

Gifs and videos load better now. None of reddit's new profile or chat features have been incorporated into the app, which is a shame because it's the only reddit app that isn't garbage.

  72. Crispus Mwaura-avatar

    Crispus Mwaura

Weird. The app seems not to respect my subreddit subscriptions. The front page is comprised of subreddits that i have not subscribed to Edit: on second though, this isnt on the app. Someone serverside on reddit must have effed up Actually seems like the reddit web client is respecting my subscriptions. So its the app or rather the API

  73. Nelson Batista-avatar

    Nelson Batista

Definitely the best reader out there. Plenty of features, easy to navigate, mostly unobtrusive ads (in the free version), sane default settings, very little fluff in the UI.

  74. Dean Anderson-avatar

    Dean Anderson

Been using rif for years. It's great. Wish it had more features like being able to tag users. Idk what else to say. Love it.

  75. Guillaume Theriault-avatar

like the layout, just the odd gif that doesn't seem to load up but that could be something else. overall, great app!

    Kaleigh Clark

use it every day several times a day, best app on my phone.

  77. Ian K.-avatar

Loading issues on two different devices. But if you run RIF then go back into G/P is starts working again.

  78. Richard Fitzpatrick-avatar

    Richard Fitzpatrick

It makes Reddit fun & easy.

  79. Anton Chigurh-avatar

Gfycat links are not working. Not sure why or how to fix this. Other than that, this app is very good.

  80. Griffin Orr-avatar

    Griffin Orr

Been using for nearly 10 years, pretty nice. I don't plan on using any other reddit mobile app. I don't even want to think about how many hours I've been on this app over the years

  98. mark castillo-avatar

    mark castillo

When I'm trying to reply to a thread, most of the time the app would just freeze for about 15 seconds and wont post my reply. After 15 seconds, I would have to press the reply button again so that my reply would be posted. This would happen 50% of the time.

  99. Rueben-avatar

Better than official reddit app, now ad-free!

  104. Brittany Bailey-avatar

    Brittany Bailey

After I signed in, nothing would load, every page just said "there's nothing here". Dark mode doesn't work (has black text on black background) unless you change everything around in the settings. This app is a dumpster fire. And the free version works perfectly! This exact same thing happened last year AND the year before when I tried the paid version.

  105. Diarmaid Lindsay-avatar

    Diarmaid Lindsay

Still the best Reddit app after all these years. If you prefer the Old Reddit style.

  106. Wayne Domina-avatar

    Wayne Domina

Dark mode doesn't look trashy or cheap.

  107. Kathleen Nacion-avatar

    Kathleen Nacion

I LOVE this app. I've been using it for years and I actually prefer to use it over the desktop version. My one complaint is that it doesn't give a notification that you've received a Direct Chat (not a direct message). To be fair, I rarely use DC and I'm not entirely familiar with it since it's a relatively new Reddit feature from my perspective. However, I noticed I had a chat request a week after I had received it when I just so happen to login on desktop. Besides that, this app is AMAZING.

  108. Y0gs-avatar

    Love this app. No issues.

Doesn't load my subreddits I'm subscribed to at all, keep getting an error saying "private subreddit" when I try to load my front page.. Never had an issue with the free one, disappointed to have lost $4 on trying the paid version out

  115. Jared Wilder-avatar

    Jared Wilder

Legit. Blows the'official' app outta the water. Ditch the branded app, grab this instead. Little to no ads in the free version and 0 apps to be seen after ponying up the coffee cash for this.

Long time premium user. The last release the performance using Wi-Fi has degraded terribly. On mobile network it is fast. Cleared caches, restart, No ad block, No VPN, fast wifi, latest premium version.

This app used to be great, but for a while now anything reddit related (images, messages or comments) won't load. I can see post titles and click on links that leave the reddit site, that's it. I've reinstalled, updated to latest software for my phone, my internet works fine. I've gone from 4 hours of use a day to 20 minutes. I guess that could be a blessing in disguise.

Amazing app, used the free version for at least a year and a half then just recently learned that you could disable the already negligible ads for free and decided to pay for the ad free one BECAUSE you can disable them for free. I'm spending money because of a free feature and I'm very ok with it. You as a developer have my full support and hope you never sell this app or yourselves because we need more developers like you.

I'm pretty sure I've paid for this app twice but I didn't mind as I use it often and wanted to see Reddit photo albums in the app. The problem I keep having is that the app will stall out and refuse to load, with error messages such as "private subreddit" on the home feed and "no user comments" on posts with several. The only way I have found to fix this problem is to open the old app (which works fine except for the photo issues), then reopen this one. That's not ideal.

I had been using the free version of Reddit is Fun for years and I wanted to contribute to the developer, I feel I should have done this a long time ago. This version of the app gets rid of ads, but they were very non-intrusive to begin with. I recommend Reddit is Fun to everyone who wants to use Reddit on their mobile, it's leaps and bounds ahead of the official app as well.

RIF has been a great reddit client and I still use it as my primary way of using reddit, but it's beginning to show its age. As reddit updates it's features, RIF seems to be failing to keep up - still showing the old sidebar information with the new features not visible, leaving a lot of information to be unavailable. I'll still use the app as long as possible, but I don't know how much longer that will be.

Have used the free version for countless hours. Bought the ad free version a couple of days ago and it's still perfect. It's smooth, compact and easy to use. Simply put the best Reddit app for Android. I have nothing negative to say at all. The ads in the free version are small and unintrusive. Getting the paid version is only a all improvement and mostly about paying the developers for their awesome work.

I have had this app for awhile, I paid and have enjoyed it up until I updated to Android 10 and now I'm having issues involving the whole frontpage is a "Private Subreddit", it's an issue that is fairly common and there is a login solution which I have tried many times to no avail, I hope this is just a simple fix that can be resolved.

Reddit Is Fun is a good reddit app, but the paid version actually has more issues connecting and downloading my feed than the free one. I don't know how or why, but about half the time I load the paid version it simply sits there with the rotating Loading graphic. I switch to the Ad supported one and it works. Doesn't exactly fill me with joy to pay for something then still give them money through the ad views I was trying to avoid.

A labor of love that shows its dedication to being user friendly and sensible (far moreso than the official app). Lots of customization and no spammy notifications. I used the free version for years and am very happy to have given them some money for the effort.

easy to use, customisable, stable, includes dark theme, can use cards but I prefer text. I've been using the free version for 5 years , on 4 different phones (nexus 5,5x, nokia 7+, and one plus 6) no issues and even then the ads were varely noticeable, it just looked like another post to scroll pass ebery 10 posts or so. finally decided to drop the $2.99 to support the devs.

Very good app and works well and is very compact on the screen if you choose to use the list rather than the cards and to disable thumbnails.

RiF is, and always will be, my preferred Reddit experience! Really well executed app, without any gimmicks or wasted UI. Finally leaving a review after installing it on my fourth phone in a row. If you want a comfortable way to read Reddit, without anything you don't need, Reddit is Fun is the way to go! Don't forget, often when new features aren't available on RiF, it's because Reddit isn't keeping up with their API integrations!

Best reddit client, but my problem with the paid version is that it constantly gives me a "private subreddit" error on the front page, and nothing loads anymore. To fix it i have to load something on the free version, and at that point there is just no incentive to use the paid one...

An incredible app for using reddit. I've tried a few and this one is my favourite by far, including the official one. This paid version is great, more than worth the cost, and I'm happy to support the developer. The free version is great too and a good way to check rif out.

Easily the best reddit app out there. I do seriously wish they'd add the 'Manage accounts' menu item to the profile view, though, there's plenty of space. I have to go back every time now, and I need it constantly.

I've been using the free version for several years now. I've never had any problems with it so far. But unfortunately I couldnt properly configure the in-app vs external browser rules for youtube. Seemed to randomly revert every now and then.

I've been using the free version for years. It's just such a seamless joy to use I prefer it over even desktop use for reddit. This app slaps even the official reddit app. I decided due the sheer amount of use I've had out of this great app to purchase the premium ad free version. Thanks for the great product developer.

Very smooth app, far better than the native Android reddit app. My two criticisms are that is does not seem to be possible to opt in to view quarantined subreddits, (although I swear I used to be able to) and often times twitter links won't load properly through the app, saying that I am rate limited and not loading about 50% of the time.

I've been using RiF for many years at this point and the entire time it's worked consistently with minimal issues. It supports modmail and other moderator features as well as handling playback for all link types. I appreciate the relatively simple layout of the UI and the options to customise it how you'd like (left handed mode in particular).

I love this app, but when I got a new phone last August, it stopped giving me the premium options on re-download. I don't even have an option to buy it again, it just let's me download the same broken app over and over with no change.
