Great concept, unfortunately all it does is crash and freeze my phone. I can open pages, start to read them, and then everything force closes and I'm on a blank screen for ten-ish seconds, before being at the homescreen. I try to re-open the browser and the same thing happens. It's impossible to read even one article. Would love to rate higher but for now will have to uninstall (takes up too much memory to justify keeping a broken app) and keep checking back for a more stable update.

I downloaded this onto my phone (not desktop) over a month ago and it worked great...and now, for some reason, I can hardly get anything to load. It's become such a hassle for me to use that I decided to switch to DDG instead. I love what Qwant stands for: privacy and all that. And at first I thought my phone was acting up but when I use my boyfriend's phone (he uses chrome) or If i try another search engine on my own phone (like DDG), it works fast and right away!

Ugh! Ugh! Ugh! Turtle slow! Outdated search results. Very frustrating as i wait for "red data" in search bar to turn "green" so i can search. Also no voice command for searching. Ugh! I'm done. Guess I will give up some privavy to an engine, (Bing, Google), that supplies actual timely & relevant search results. Ugh! Ugh!

The annoying search bar ruins the experience. It moves and I have to chase it around and tap it AGAIN so my keyboard shows up. All this adds seconds to the inconvenient experience. Advice: keep it in one place, just like Chrome or DDG.

I love the saving my privacy, but this android application needs to be developed and worked on better. There is a lot of mistakes, and things make it slow, so please fix this issues. One issue I saw is when I click on link on telegram it goes to the qwant app and everything is fine, but when I click on another link, in the qwant, it goes to the same previous page, and don't open the new one. I use Quant search engine on my pc, and I want to use it also through qwant app on my phone.

So it's not the best but if you want to maintain privacy at the best possible rate while still maintaining a good level of privacy, Qwant is search engine. Based in Paris, they have a fully fledged US / English engine built out but infrastructure is all maintained within France and EU countries. They should have a larger spotlight since you may not get Google like results but they are better than the privacy search engines that only DuckDuckGo is only half decent.

it was very slow on loading pages, and half the time it didnt give me what i searched for. i used it for extremely small tasks bc of it. otherwise i liked the concept of it.

Here, back button don't function, when we want to leave app. Morever if we click on back button, it moves us to previously opened page. Hence, we need to tap home button. Overall, the search engine is very good with the privacy features.

I tried to test that dark mode, but all I could find it was a "dark theme" in settings menu. It may be dar when searching, but when I open a page like wikipedia for example, the background will still be white and black text. I want the opposite, in dark mode.

Edit: DON'T belie in what all these reviews on tech site website are saying. Even though qwant is more private than other search engine including DDG. The fact that they still report to Microsoft of user's search's, queries, and record your device and first six digits of your IP address. All this still shows theirs Not a true and Honest search engine in existence that could be called a true private search engine. And that is such a Complete Damn Shame.
