Las Torres de Quart eran la entrada que recibía a los visitantes que llegaban desde el Reino de Castilla. Formaban parte de la muralla cristiana de la ciudad y su construcción se realizó entre 1441 y 1460 sobre una puerta anterior, siguiendo el modelo de la puerta de Castel Nuovo de Nápoles, levantado por Alfonso el Magnánimo. En el enlucido exterior todavía se conservan las señales del intenso bombardeo sufrido durante el sitio francés a la ciudad en 1808.
