Google Play Reviews

  1. Charlie HG-avatar

This is my favorite music player on here. I only have 2 real gripes with it: 1. Albums sometimes split into separate parts despite having the same metadata. 2. I wish there was another option for the Now Playing screen. The album art goes into the area of the status bar and it looks pretty ugly. Despite that, I have no issues with it. I hope you keep supporting this app and taking feedback!

  2. Matthew Day-avatar

Just downloaded because Samsung sold out once more and put ads in their music app this week. This is hands-down the closest thing to the Samsung version I've seen. Had tried Musicolet but didn't like it because it wouldn't just stay on the Songs list when I chose a track and kept switching out of it from time to time. So far I have no complaints.

  3. Sean Squire-avatar

Decent app. However, have no idea why it chooses to skip tracks in a playlist. Song finishes, next song starts, you decide to go back a few songs, to hear them again and when that song is over, it just jumps ahead several songs in the list. What? Play the songs in their order no matter how many times they've been repeated. I know what I want to hear. I don't need the player to choose for me. And, no, random/shuffle mode is not on. If this persists, I'm uninstalling.

  4. Josh Davidson-avatar

Great looking app. Well designed just 2 fairly minimal critiques: It would be nice to have to favorites button accessible through the notification tray. Instead of having the repeat button the the heart icon would be so much more convenient The other critique being that the notification controls don't stay in the notification tray very long. If you pause and go to other apps the notification controls disappear very quickly. Both pretty minimal but the favorites button would be huge to me.

I've tried over 15 music players on Android, and this is absolutely the best in breed, veating out BlackPlayer and Pi Audio Player (my former favourite). It is pretty, functional, intuitive, and understand all data I throw at it. In short, it is (almost) everything I want in a player.

  6. family use-avatar

good music player. one feature request, on playin page and collections other than file folder, when user clicks on top right option button, could you add a file folder menu item to go back to the file folder where the selected song track is located. currently there are album, artist shortcut menu items in this option menu. new file folder shortcut menu item will be very helpful for songs organized by folders. thanks.

Ok for those like me who had volume control issues, you should disable play gain option. It was not an issue pre android 10. This app is a hit for me especially the cross fade feature. BUT NOW my pet peeve is that the album cover art no longer shows on the lock screen, it is fully blurred out and only the widget can be seen. I had this before and loved this feature before as you could see at a glance artist and album info.

  8. Jon Hyaku-avatar

The best music player of the many I tried. I used them all in rotation, deleting them when they didn't work well, or when they annoyed me. This is the only one that passed every test! It's simple to navigate, easy to use, has all the features I need, looks good... Excellent.

  9. krazzy-avatar

An exceptional app for music lovers The app for those who have only choice of google music or may be don't have own phone's music app like PIXEL,ONEPLUS,ETC. You can for-back in music ,have an good appearance ,themes, settings ,folder and different departments and good thing is without Ad. Yes its totally ad-free. Run without lag and so fast its UI.

  10. Johnston Casey-avatar

Doesn't manage tags well; one artist is listed as several, albums are split in half. And it has a very hard time playing an album in sequential track order. Too much time spent trying to convince this app to put my songs with the correct artist. Not worth the trouble.

  11. Dan D-avatar

Great little app. Only thing I've noticed is it tends to play the same songs in random mode. E.g., I'll have it playing songs one day, then the next day it plays several of the same songs again, with a Playlist of over 300 songs.

  12. Tina M-avatar

Very simple interface, easy to use but with flexible, useful features like what tabs you want displayed and able to drag-and-drop the order of songs in a playlist. Keeps track of songs most recently played. No ads. Wish it could play other song formats

  13. Dominic Douse-avatar

Very useful app as it has the cast function as well as the ability to add or change metadata which is particularly useful if you want to keep things in the right albums i highly recommend it over another apps i have tried loads of apps before I found this one and it is by far the best

  14. Chet Monye-avatar

Works well with one exception. I listen to a lot of audiobooks, music and podcasts. The app constantly forgets where I am on an audiobook if I listen to podcasts and or music before I finish the book. It's irritating an me very unprofessional. The ability to set multiple manual bookmarks would fix this.

  15. Nikola Zadro-avatar

I use this on my Android One device which only has Google play music, and I can confirm that it's over a 100 billion times better. Would recommend to anyone looking for a feature full music player with no adds. Keep up the good work guys!

  16. Francis Bacon-avatar

I am very satisfied with the App. The UI is clearly and simply structured and therefore very clear. What could be improved is the possibility to hide the "Shuffle" icon, unfortunately it is always shown.

  17. Y M-avatar

Player controls do not show on lock screen. To pause a song I need to unlock the phone. Previously it was so easy to use. I've been using pulsar for years. Also it will be great if you guys can provide new skins and themes. Bored of seeing this depressing purple+orange skin. Edit- Thank you for your fast reply. All notifications are enabled. Device : Mi A2

  18. Zip Foxtaur-avatar

I was looking for a simple music player app with an easy interface. I find Google Music to be too clunky and unintuitive, so I prefer this one. Works great for playing music files on your device.

  19. Tanya Pavlenko-avatar

My best music player for real🥰 love the new songs tab, the most played playlist and and most gorgeous interface ever ❤Thank you, guys, so much! It would be a nice idea to enable time options for which the songs may stay in the new songs playlist🔥

  20. Randy Poole-avatar

The best music app I have found so far. Biggest drawback that I have experienced is that you cannot change the genre. If I edit the genre for a song or album, it does not change it in the file.

  21. Fred Gotti-avatar

Only complaint I have is, the newly added playlist. 7 days isn't long enough, wish you guys would tweak it to where new music stays in there for atleast 3 weeks. Other than that, best music player app I've downloaded 👌

  22. jean-marc Sansoucy-avatar

Still a good app without any ads. Can manage easily your music. Sometime play all night long something stop playing music after 15 mins (app close by imself). For that reason it's a 3 star for me

  23. Richard Pearse-avatar

Really a good audio player, one of the best. Has the same problems as all Android apps: no long-term multiple bookmarks, playback speed not stored on the bookmark.

  24. Rob Garneau-avatar

Unable to control with my voice using Android auto. Switching back to Rocket Player since it allows me to play selected song/band/playlist with voice commands on Android auto. Also if I use this app manually with Android auto, it often crashes Android auto.

  25. Prince Dayvid-avatar

Pulsar is just what I've been looking for. Perfect music player without much fuss! I've had bad experiences with other music players (most stops arbitrarily and/or no control from lock screen). I love that pulsar music notification (isn't persistent). I can clear my notification & it wouldn't affect the music playing in background. Great work! To the developers.. thanks 👊

  26. Jack Tolin-avatar

:-) Update ID tags! Looks beautiful! :-( Many song tags are overridden w/ info from 1st song artist on album whether u want it to or not! Single track info won't download! VARIOUS ARTISTS albums are often messed up.

Use this to playbk novels ripped from my local library works great. Check settings to reorder tabs to your liking since defaults to first tab. Ck out playlist tab since if you lose current song/chapter this can help you find it

  28. Jason Claret-avatar

Fantastic 👍 I've been using Pulsar for a while now, it is definitely my favourite music app. So intuitive and simple (in a good way) - Highly recommended!

Great. Its literally has the one thing I look for in a music player that most just don't offer. Recently added list.

  30. Philip Tennant-avatar

Tried many, many different music players and this is the only one I've found that has all the features I was looking for. It has lots of customisable features so you can set up just as you like.

  31. Mike Carroll-avatar

Option to combine two albums into one would be great. Some of my albums aren't albums their just folders, and some actual albums are split into two for some reason.

  32. Jeff Seymour-avatar

I love this app. There's a small learning curve but that's expected. This app helps me stay organized and my OCD loves it

  33. Blake G-avatar

Why does it keep stopping between songs? It show the pause indicator (like it is still in play mode) but it does not play go ahead and play the next song. I have to constantly pause it and then hit play again. Terrible problem. I would gladly pay for a good app. Dumped Pulsar for Musicolet Music Player [Free, No ads].

  34. Guillaume Gervais-avatar

    2020-05-24T01:49:38.120Z

The "save/restore playback position for tracks longer than X" feature doesn't work. It still enables it for all songs.

  35. David McGrath-avatar

Sleek, slick and I liked it straight away. I like the nice big display of the album artwork especially.

  36. John Smith-avatar

It became my favourite music player, having tried a lot of other ones. It has everything that I need and has helped me organize my music perfectly :)

  37. Sean Andrews-avatar

I have two gripes that are keeping me from rating it a 5. The whole "automatically download album and artist art." Can't this be split into two separate features? I want to download artist art but not album art, because when I turn this on, it replaces my songs' album cover art (in the Album list view) with a different piece of cover art discovered online. My other gripe is that the Playlist view is lacking any art. It doesn't show any cover art for the playlist or the individual tracks.

  38. Paul Kopilak-avatar

The absolute perfect player!!! Plays virtually any music file, simple to use and easy to author and edit Playlists! The only thing that could make it better was if there were a laptop version with record and editing software! You can't get a better music app for your phone!0

  39. Douglas Irby-avatar

This was the best music player I had come across, but the latest update made certain parts of it a real pain. As far as I can tell, it is now impossible to see all songs an artist has done. You have to look at each album individually and only play songs from that album, even in the artist tab. Some of my songs also will no longer play past a certain point in the song before skipping to the next, but that could be corrupted music. Now Playing also seems to have disappeared entirely.

  40. shivam gupta-avatar

It's a good music player. I think the only function it's missing is auto edit(you know for lyrics, album pic etc)

  41. Krzysztof Grabiński-avatar

    Krzysztof Grabiński

Good music player, works great and handles playlists properly. I'd be very grateful for "Favorite artists" tab!

  42. Swastik Mishra-avatar

Minimalist, no ads, has most of the important features that a media player should.

  43. D.O.C # 147486-avatar

It is an easy to use music app with no ads I might add I love it I've used it since the first day it came out

  44. Cen Cent-avatar

This Music player doesn't have any ads and it has a lot of features that make it even better :)

  45. Hector Soto-avatar

Orange County bred application. It's the best music player I've encountered and simple to use without all the nonsense. Great job!!

  46. Chinh Trinh-avatar

I love this Pulsar music player. Especially the feature that connects to the bluetooth headset automatically.

Everything is good. According to me only one thing is missing. There are no controls on the lock screen. Of I have to play the song from the start it will play it bit if I have to rewind it a little but I have to unlock my phone.

NO Adds, nuff said. Same format as most other players. Plenty of options. NO ADDS

  49. Clint McQueen-avatar

Excellent media player. Best part is free with no ads.

  50. stray fox-avatar

Please support .opus extension scanning. The files are playable, they just don't appear on library scan

  51. Venomleggs-avatar

Everything is great except for the abysmal track sorting. When sorting by "Track#" the songs are shown like this: 1, 10, 11, 12, 2, 20, etc. When choosing the "default" sorting option it shows the tracks in the correct order but some albums are reversed and others not. This does not happen with Phonograph or Google Play Music.

  52. j f-avatar

Great player easy to use with playlist support. Would like to access imbedded lyrics.

  53. HI Bye-avatar

The best music player almost identicle to the Sony player but has a huge issue being that updating album arts is tedious as all hell. You gotta go to google, download the pic, locate it which is super annoying on Android, then set it. All other music players got an inbuilt online album browsers which makes it infinitely faster and more convinient. Please please please tell me that I'm doing it wrong and there is an easier way to do this, otherwise I cant recommend it to others :(

  54. William Bolton-avatar

Best music player app I've found. Simplistic design with no ads.

  55. M Wolek-avatar

Liked the free version so I bought and downloaded the upgrade pro version . However it still asks me to upgrade to the pro version when I try to change the theme and sends me back to the store to purchase the pro version. Which I already have done. Frustrating. Hope this is fixed soon.

Works good, like the layout, simple to use. I like it😌

  57. Danila Maltsev-avatar

Excellent interface, widely customizable to make your experience as adjusted to your preferences as possible. Good battery efficiency. After having tried a dozen player apps on Android, settled on this one more than a year ago and don't think I'll drop it anytime soon!

  58. Arezki-avatar

Some features stop working randomly, such as the cross fade. It worked fine until it didn't. It's still activated but doesn't cross fade between tracks. Also it doesn't explicitly specify it's not the full version. Eq, reverb and other settings are only available in the pro version.

  59. MrBracegurdle1-avatar

Best audio playing app for creating playlists. Can also change playback speed easily

  60. Wyn Pugh-avatar

Very impressed and wished I had moved over from Google Play Music much earlier. Their transfer to YT Music, without Chromecast support in their basic package convinced me how much better Pulsar is! I find the UI very good and it is great how it "just finds" music already downloaded. 5*

  61. James Sarver-avatar

It would be great if you could update your app to support google ios (google pixel slate). It says that there is a java error, and it will not read. I really like your app on my cell phone, and wanted to use it as well on my tablet.

I have 1 suggestion: Tag-line says that it has material design and that's true but now it's time for material design 2.0 which Google is implementing in is every app so its time for you to update the UI ( Retro music player has this design ). By the way, the so is excellent. Just what I want.

  64. Ari Lemmke-avatar

Extremely good basic player. But some bugs: midi to Chromecast, Just have easier to play playlists ">". And while on repeat next song won't play when added to queue. And while on repeat playlist will play and repeat the first song. Reasons for ***.

Great app, lot of features however not without it's problems. Sometimes song album cover will appear on completely different song (When albums share same name the one that u type second will overrun first. For example: "lost" from Loote and "lost" from Inkfish).

  67. Xi Xu-avatar

Great feature set. The user interface is a little difficult to figure out.

  68. Carlos Ortiz-avatar

This is an amazing mp3 player! My favorite feature it plays well casting to my chromecast. Play your songs straight through or in shuffle, it works amazing. Ive tried dozens of other mp3 players(vlc etc.) And this is the best.

  69. brett larson-avatar

Excellent music player! Works well with Android auto, actually allows you to choose by artist from your local music! I wish though, when selecting artist in Android auto, it would display the albums by that artist to choose from.

  70. Kavi Dasan-avatar

Overall quality music player no ads 👌 I have a suggestion its not an issue but if the album art not cover the status bar it would be great. Because when the songs album art have white background makes it hard to look time and notifications.

  71. Sachin Jayswal-avatar

Playback speed is not working Please solve this problem.

  72. daverage47-avatar

After a lot of trial and error, I finally found a music app that is easy to use, well laid out and does all I need it to. Just a pity its not available for pc too.

  73. Robin Nicholl-avatar

I've really been enjoying the app but would really love my playlists/songs be in numerical order. I took hours making a playlist and now it won't play in the order I put the songs in. I never understood the idea of having songs in alphabetical order. Please help.

  74. Takara Clan-avatar

Easy and light, simple sorting. A good player

  75. sudipto das-avatar

Still not able to set my own folders to scan, misses half of the mp3s in folders, No built-in method to check into the folders, no way to include folders yet it has an "Exclude folders" option. What a joke!

  76. James Wood-avatar

Excellent so far...but...please add more languages as i have lots of albums with characters that are not read properly which splits albums up. Also add a goto album option when in a playlist. Thank you.

  77. Garry Rupp-avatar

Great player with a fault. I use the player on Samsung Galaxy Tab A and it finds all the music files. On my LG Stylo the Google Music player finds my music on the phone but Pulsar cannot find any of the 4+ GB's of music.

  79. john r-avatar

It works with Google Assistant better than GPM or Youtubemusic.

  80. Zed Crawford-avatar

No adds, best interface. Number 1 music app by miles!

Would be 5 stars if you fix this bug I've been having when attempting to edit media tags on an SD Card it infinitely loops when attempting to apply the changes, please fix 🙏

Excellent. Best player I have come across. Not only all the functions of music player availabe, but also tag edits are also possible. Bonus is that it is ad free.

It was my best player...untill it didn't play any music through Bluetooth devices. All i have to do is force stop and start again to play music.

This app is so rich with features but so easy to use!

This is the only music player app I have used since I started using an Android powered device. I have always been satisfied with it. It has never failed me.

I love it however I'd have loved if the lockcreen was the one that covers the phone and isn't just a notification

Descent app but the normalization is terrible youre always either turning the volume up or down and shuffle is not too great either.

Paywalling EQ is super lame, and even though I have my resume setting for tracks 10 minutes or longer, it still resumes any and all tracks regardless of length. Why would I pay for this?
