Found this by chance and glad I did. As bloke in his mid-fifties, I enjoyed playing with DOS and Windows 3.1 back when I and the computer world was a lot younger. The icons are perfect, the sounds a joy to listen to. I've paid to get rid of the ads, but I'm going to do my very best to earn the upgrades the hard but proper way. LOL!

This is most likely one of the most stand-out games on this store. I love the aesthetic, the sounds are on-point, and it's all wrapped up in nostalgia and inside jokes for tech geeks. The team behind this have clearly used a lot of effort on this experience. The newest update to the game only proves their dedication. I look forward to new features in the future.

  3. guest-avatar

Would be four star if it hadn't twice forgot all my daily playing and reset back to day one (for unlocking "win 1".). I suspect the reset is tied to app updates. I've paid to remove the ads so there isn't much motivation for the authors to have me play every day anyway, so I'd prefer they found a better system for unlocking those first three levels.)

I love this game being an old school technician. I only had one problem. It said if i play the game for 7 days it will give you progressbar 3.14 and so i did. On day 7 it rolled back to day 1 without giving it to me. Even though i am dissapointed i still have to give the developers credit on an awsome game. Hope i get some feedback on my problem.

This is probably my most played game right now on my phone. It's surprisingly unique with the old style of Windows format and the progression system isn't so terrible that you HAVE to buy the next upgrade. You can easily grind for it. All in all my favorite game I've played so far in 2020.

  6. guest-avatar

    Jimmy Pinkerton

Great game, easy to learn, but gets harder. I like the astetics and references. Ads are pretty annoying, but only costs $2 to get ad free. So for a $2 game I'd say it's great

  7. guest-avatar

I love this game alot I like the retro like feel of the game from the Windows 95 nostalgic like feel from it to Windows XP I would just like to see you make an Android kind of UI game like of all Android versions from the vanilla version of Android to 9.0 Pie or Android Q it would be cool but I love this game still tho I love the new Easter egg that was added to the game

  8. guest-avatar

A brilliant little game with a lot of nostalgic value. Somewhat lacking in terms of endgame goals, but extremely fun while it lasts.

  9. guest-avatar

Fun game, would definitely recommend. Only issue I have is the progress from one session to the next isn't remembered.

  10. guest-avatar

It's a great game! Would suggest having the upgrades do something other than unlock skins. Also sometimes the buttons are a bit to small.

  11. guest-avatar

Amazing game, very simple but challenging and so funny. I truly admire these kind of ideas.

  12. guest-avatar

Ran a test to see how truly "offline" this game was. Turned off wifi/data and was still able to play without being forced to connect so that the game could inundate me with ads. Because of that, I'll likely purchase the ad-free version, because the game is good, nostalgic, and most importantly honest. My only complaint is that the dogs move so fast I can barely see them let alone click them 🥺😔

  13. guest-avatar

The only game I've actively wanted to come back to every day, on my 6th day in a row so far so one day away from being rewarded their £3 Progressbar 3.14 version for free :D I love everything about it, the sounds, the details, the presentation of the progression system. So much love clearly went into this. If like me you can't afford to pay for all the available versions of the game (which can be earned through progression alone) I urge you to at least buy the Ad Free version to support the devs

  14. guest-avatar

First, I'd like to say I paid for the ad-free version. I've never paid any money for a mobile game before. Half of the reason was to remove the ads, but the other half was out of pure patronage and was more of a "donation" to the great people behind this wonderful game. Very cool game, I love the aesthetics and the gameplay is casual yet engaging, and there's even harder difficulties if you're into that (like me). There's no paywall, you always feel like you're making progress, the ads are non-intrusive and it feels like there's a "goal" to strive for. Out of all the casual mobile games I've played, this one trumps them all. I'd definitely recommend it to someone who grew up with older Windows versions. In fact, I think I'd recommend this game to anybody with a phone.

  15. guest-avatar

Honestly one of the best mobile games I've played in awhile. Love the nostalgic graphics that resemble the Windows operating systems of old (I started with Win95 as a kid on my dad's computer), the SFX is crisp and fits the theme. Progression does feel stretched, however with the gameplay the way it is, I don't mind it. In fact, I find it cool to see each and every little thing upgrade as I play with psudo-real life counterparts of the certain era. Also Clippy is giving me nightmares. 10/10

  16. guest-avatar

    Darth Different

Addictive and nostalgic , at first I didn't think I'd play this as often as I do because I'm not usually a fan of playing games on my phone, however I find myself booting this up pretty often . I love esthetic that it looks like older windows versions heck every time it starts up I wait a second or two for it to load up 😅(there's gotta be the older audience who would get why ). I also love the simple yet challenging (try hardcore mode) gameplay which is just right and not too frustrating.

  17. guest-avatar

Great little game, very clever design and lots of creative touches. It really is reminiscent of old PCs and Windows OS. Even has the "helpful" Paperclip character that was usually more annoying than helpful. Game play is relatively simple but still challenging and becomes increasingly so. Love the sounds of old PCs we don't hear anymore, like the sounds of the drive, the whirring of the fan... just needs the sound of the modem connecting... that was exciting back then. LOL

  18. guest-avatar

It's a fun throwback to all the times we had to catch progressbar segments in order to continue using our computer. My only issue is that the different colors aren't explained, so you never know which ones do what. Also one of the daily goals is to catch red blocks, but red blocks kill you, so I again don't understand what that's about.

  19. guest-avatar

Very fun and polished, the prices in store are a little high for such a casual game though.

  20. guest-avatar

It's fun, and unlike most mobile games it doesn't limit your playtime. But the controls have trouble sometimes. Oh and the graphics are intentionaly pretend to be bad. It's a much more enjoyable expirience than other cheap mobile games with their frequent adds an required in app purchases to win later levels. I recomend it for those who like making fun of old versions of windows and those who want a new genuine good game to play. It's a little creepy it says "We love you" once writing a review.

  21. guest-avatar

A superbly done fun game, which takes you through the many Windows versions up till now. If you are a computer geek who went through development of the PC it is an excellent look back to history of it all. It is awesome how the defragmment and firewall is added as a saving functions as well as the advancement through PC upgrades. You really thought of everything, I forgot about the days when voodoo graphics was the pinnacle of gaming graphics cards. Great work!

  22. guest-avatar

The concept is really nice though it can get repetitive, computer enthusiasts will surely enjoy it. Though there are bugs which if fixed, I'll increase my rating- 1. Everytime I open the aap it gives a new set of today's challenges and earlier progress is lost, it has given me 5-6 today's challenges on the same day. 2. If you take your progress bar at the extreme end of screen, you might get hit by error or gain progress which is invisible. 3. Keyboard should have tab button for autocomplete.

  23. guest-avatar

A very simple, nostalgic time killer. Some very inoffensive monetization (ads, option to disable ads, and straight up buying newer os versions). This game really thrives on the nostalgic aesthetic of working with old hardware, with the way it emulates an old CRT monitor and plays old computer noises. Sound and visual design are top notch. Gameplay might be a bit repetitive, but you always feel like you're making progress, even though it gets pretty slow in the later stages.

  24. guest-avatar

This is a great nostalgic pastime for any computer geek, I love the different colored squares that come down at you. I finally reached the part of the game with the firewall And it's so cute. My only thing I have preference towards is instead of a brick wall that It was made with pixelated fire. Lol. Aside from that this is a pretty solid game. I also really like that it flips from 2D to 3D. I found that genius and further immersive

  25. guest-avatar

Simple and addicting. The nostalgic feel is spot-on. Recommended game for time killing.

  26. guest-avatar

Nice casual game once you get to the third system upgrade it requires more attention but nothing too difficult pretty fun all round and plenty of old windows feels

  27. guest-avatar

This game is fun to pass time, simple context with heaps of hidden stuff to find. Nostalgic in the way that the themes are reminiscent of past and present versions of windows. Challenging enough to keep you engaged but not infuriating. Overall a fantastic concept that's pretty fun to play and the included DOS window is pretty fun to play around with

  28. guest-avatar

Growing up, we had no internet. So I would spend hours exploring all the tabs and system files for fun. Had the old Windows. Although the computer didn't sound like an aircraft engine, I'll never forget cycling through Clippy's in and out animations 😂 this game brings me back to my childhood. I simply love it. I was born in 97, so seeing the "software" is pretty great. The noises and simplistic objectives and gameplay make me nostalgic for a decade I didn't even grow up in.

  29. guest-avatar

A nostalgic app that reminds you on the windows XP days, while playing and running as smoothly as a modern mobile game. This game does everything it intends to do, with subtle references to old mascots such as 'clippy'. Its a good way to spend your time that you don't know what to do with, while showing little ads, giving you a overall fun and addicting experience.

  30. guest-avatar

A surprisingly engaging little time waster that keeps you coming back with its constant feeling of progression. -Very pleasing and nostalgic aesthetics. -Neat features and secrets to keep things fresh. -There's no daily limit to how much you can play unlike other mobile games and the ads aren't too intrusive. -Difficulty can be set depending on your comfort level, although going easier will make upgrading take longer. Overall, one of my favorite apps, would highly recommend.

  31. guest-avatar

So this game kept popping up as a recommendation from play, I kept thinking what fun would it be to watch a progress bar... Boy was I wrong, Been playing almost a week now, and still finding cool little tidbits within game. Nostalgic blast from the past, recomend for anyone who grew up in the early windows days. Also love the ms dos built in. Never in my life did I ever expect to use dos commands. Simple timekiller, yet puts a smile on my face.

  32. guest-avatar

I live this game!! I have one thing that I would love to add, though. I did this to myself. When I ran into an electricity popup, I accidentally changed the language. I know that's not what they do, but I think that would be a really cool 'side effect' TL,DR: when you run into electricity, the language should change

  33. guest-avatar

The game's pretty good. Everything controls well and it isn't hard enough to make me frustrated yet it's hard enough to give me a challenge and keep me playing. The easter eggs are pretty cool and I actually find myself spending more time in progressDOS. In conclusion, good job lads, you did well. Keep up the good job!

  34. guest-avatar

A fair casual timekiller, but here are some flaws (hear me out): On my 10 inch android laptop some interface parts look like they are jpg's in poor resolution (start button on "wista" skin for example). Shadows of progressbar window overlay each other when you don't move it over the screen, creating thick black border. Why are the on-screen helpers from XP keep following you on newer systems, that also should block popups. 8 gigs of ram for win 7? The windows 10 requires 2-4 in real life!

  35. guest-avatar

But can it run Crysis? I'm kidding, but this game does bring to mind all the history PCs have gone through, evoking not just nostalgic OS vibes, but also the various interchangeable parts they've had over the years. While I'm still unsure what the progress bars are "loading", this game is worth playing on looks and sound alone. Hearing the ticking and beeping of an older PC takes me back to simpler times, nostalgic even for bad desktop helpers and incomprehensible popup windows.

  36. guest-avatar

This game is amazing! I love it, this is the best game ever thats free! I myself am a nerd, and so when i came across this game it was perfect! I would give this 5 stars if it didnt have so many ads, but this is fun! So far i am on ProgressbarMeme, almost Progressbar2000! Well done devs!

  37. guest-avatar

The game is very engaging, I am not far but it is very fun to play in spare time. I will say that sometimes the blue bars that fill the progression bar don't come up nearly enough as the other colors. Though, I guess having a difficulty factor makes the game engaging as well. Not to mention the fun backgrounds and operating systems. You should definitely make more games like this in the future. It's fun and rewarding, even when you lose a lot.

  38. guest-avatar

Nostalgic! Love it. The only negative feedback I have are not the ads in itself, just the way they are presented. If you could choose to see an ad to get a boost(for example no popups or extra bonus points) I would watch an ad voluntarily( as many others would). But when they get thrown in your face it kinda ruins the immersion with the game setting. That's why it doesnt get five stars. Other than that, love it!

  39. guest-avatar

Very fun game for how basic of a game it is with a simple goal, to earn points to upgrade a PC (if only it were that easy with real life lol.) I play this game when I'm bored of other games but I still enjoy it. People complain of ads but the game allows you to exit out of them immiediatly, instead of being stuck with a 30 second ad often, like most other games. Main things I like with this game is the probable nistolga with some people, it being a quick and easy game to play and learn.

  40. guest-avatar

I absolutely love this! It's got so many nods to the good old days of Microsoft operating systems, really fun gameplay (with some inventive mini games thrown in) and best of all: the very nostalgic background hum of an old computer, plus authentic sound effects. You can absolutely tell that a LOT of heart went into this game. I wholeheartedly recommend it!!

  41. guest-avatar

This is an amazing game, the progress between systems does not take long,It's easy to get new components. What i did not like at forst was that there were a bunch of systems you needed to pay with real money. But then i realised you cen vet them for free if you play this game every day of the week.Incredible job developers! Even tough it has ads it does not have an overwhelmingly high amoint of ads,I barely see any! So keep up the good work and do not abandonthis project!

  42. guest-avatar

The mindless joy I've found with this game is totally worth the ads. Other games force you to watch the entire ad, whereas this one lets you click out of it pretty quick. That said, I truly love this game, and will support the developers however I can. Turning Clippy into a needy stalker was a brilliant idea!

  43. guest-avatar

This game is very charming, especially if you're familiar with PCs. The game itself is relatively simple, and is sneakily difficult as you progress. In addition, you do NOT need to buy microtransactions to progress through the game, unless you want to remove the ads to have an uninterrupted experience. The game can get repetitive, but the increasing difficulty coupled with the charm of the Windows-inspired themes makes it forgivable. It's almost like an interactive toy PC, I love it.

  44. guest-avatar

This game is super fun. It's casual, sometimes challenging, it's super easy to understand, it's simple and you can't get mad at it. The loading time is super fast, there is almost no ads and, overall, this gaming experience is really good. I have no complaints about this game. One of my favourites

  45. guest-avatar

I think this game is awesome from a PC freak's perspective. As for a hypercasual game I'd say it holds up for that. Sure it can get intense at times, especially when you progress to higher levels, nevermind hardcore mode. But relax mode? Yep, it's just as expected. The game's also very generous, I don't think it has any balancing issues. And might I mention, ProgressDOS/CMD, those are really cool. Now all that's left is a Hungarian translation. I'd be glad to contribute on that as I'm Hungarian!

  46. guest-avatar

Great game, very addictive and fun. The retro style is great but the sad thing is most of the upgrades I recognise and now realise how much money I have wasted over the years. I have upgraded the app to remove the ads, I don't understand why the operating systems are for sale?? Surely the point of the game is to achieve these? Buying them would spoil the fun!! The save to cloud feature doesn't appear to work, maybe a permissions issue???

  47. guest-avatar

If you ever used win95 or win98 back in the day this game will bring back all the memories. Remember when you would go to device manager to see if your new plug and pray sound card was recognized? The actual gameplay is very easy but this is way more than just a game. You can fire up the old command prompt window and browse around your system using DOS commands to navigate the directories and open README.TXT files or find some EXE programs to run. Just don't delete SYSTEM32

  48. guest-avatar

It's just plain fun! It's quick to pick up and play, and challenging to master. The mock Windows UI adds to the charm! The best part for me at least is that everything in game is earned by playing it. This game handles microtransactions properly, in that save for getting an ad free experience, you don't have to constantly throw money at it. Despite it being free to play too, it's being updated and added on to all the time. I love it! Thank you for making such a fun game!

  49. guest-avatar

This is a good mobile game. I like the progress system and the gameplay is fairly fun as well. The wallpaper option is cool. I will say though that the os upgrades are pretty nice, but nothing really changes other than the gui. Also, the actual progress bar pretty much never changes visually, which is especially bad when going from 8.1 to 10 because the progress takes a long time, making it kind of disappointing. Pretty nice game regardless and very good for a mobile game.

  50. guest-avatar

Couldn't move the progress bar away from the red block in tutorial. What sort of game can be enjoyable when poor coding causes failure like this?

  51. guest-avatar

I expected a stupid mobile arcade game that i would try once and drop. It turned out to be a game with obstacles, mini games, attention to detail and, if you grew up with a PC, lots of nostalgia. Its the meta game that keeps me playing. As you play, you unlock new PC parts to upgrade your computer, and your desktop/menu may change as a result! When you reach the minimum system requirements, you can "install" the next OS. I want to see how the desktop changes as I reach modern PCs.

  52. guest-avatar

Man.. It doesnt lie when it says nostalgic game.. I used to have a pc that runs the energy thing for bios controls (Pretty sure that is what that is) the sounds also exactly match up with my 2001 pc the beep as well i cant say anything else, its also so calming hearing the restarts I could have it run a restart all the time. Edit I wish you can log in with your google account so you can save all your progress over all of your devices

  53. guest-avatar

Pros: Very unique experience & original idea! Differentiating gameplay styles & varying obstacles keep you engaged. Good for passing time! Cons: Video ads after finishing every level (though can be skipped by pressing back button on certain devices.) Overall a very unique experience! The nostalgic style is very pleasing.🖥️👌

  54. guest-avatar

Adorably nostalgic! Gameplay is simple and addictive, microtransactions are there but only in an "if you gotta have it now" sense and all remove ads. The games difficulty scales very nicely and all the little in-game mechanics and sound fx being throwbacks references to all the mid to late 90s computing ya know and love! Well done!!

  55. guest-avatar

I'm glad I found this game by accident. It's so nostalgic. I'll be lurking around on your Reddit page too. Runs super... well it's not smooth and if it was I'd be disappointed, and then BSoD, just like it used to be. I didn't even notice some of the bugs in it for minute. Bravo.

  56. guest-avatar

Fun little game! Annoying when you lose a life by hitting a block offscreen that was never shown onscreen. Also annoying that the challenges are reset every time you go back into the game. The "upgrades" are interesting, but the monitor upgrades make absolutely no visible difference, whether you select 13" CRT, or 19" wide-screen LCD. The ads are a little annoying, but I think the asking price to remove them is a bit too much for a game like this. If it was half the price, I'd pay it.

  57. guest-avatar

I've very much enjoyed the style, humour, and gameplay of this game over the last few days. The aesthetics fit perfectly with the operating systems they're imitating, and it helps to polish the experience. Though simple, the "catch the falling blocks" gameplay is challenging with unique obstacles and quick decision making. That being said, I do wish you could tap close on popup obstacles without taking your touch away from the progress bar

  58. guest-avatar

Good game to kill time... And retro computers. This game is focused on catching falling segments of the Windows 95-style loading progress bar. Also you have to dodge falling negative segments (errors, minuses, bad segments). Simple game, but done in an interesting way. Definetly a recommendation from me.

  59. guest-avatar

    Mister Overlord

The game is fun but the concept gets old pretty quick. You're going to be doing the same thing over and over and over. Other issues: - Most of the "upgrades" have no change on the gameplay at all. It would be nice if they actually mattered. - It's possible to die because of something offscreen. - The X buttons on the popups and numbers on the calculator are ridiculously small. - Multi-touch isn't supported, so you can't dodge red segments and close a pop-up at the same time.

I was expecting something basic that I would maybe play a few times, but I keep coming back! It's intuitive, and easy to pick up/set back down. The PC upgrades via points is nice, and I think it scales appropriately. I would change some things with ProgressDos. Mainly modifying the CD cmd to include the rest of its "normal" functionality: a) "CD . " to get back to the root folder b) "CD ../otherFolder" to avoid having to keep going back and forth... It gets monotonous after a while!

  61. guest-avatar

This game is highly addictive, and I absolutely love it. The game is challenging in some portions, but the catch is you feel like a freaking glowing brain genius when you complete a level. The game introduces mechanics on the way, but not so fast that you cant keep up. The graphics are insanely nostalgic, inspired by ye olde Windows OSs from the 90s and early 2000s. 10/10 would recommend.

Love the game, it is nostalgic and very easy to play too. I grew up with ProgressBar 7 but since I watch too much of a retro computer videos on YouTube, I got the nostalgia feeling of the operating system. I couldn't afford the upgrade, but it is cheap enough for me to get rid of the ads and support you. Again, thank you for this game.

  63. guest-avatar

A very good experience! I'm no 90's kid -- that's for sure, but this game gives me some kind of nice, kind of nostalgic feeling that I can't quite describe. The lack of music adds to the experience rather than subtracting from it. The ads, however, though I know they're necessary, do disrupt the flow of the game. Anyways, if you haven't already, please try this game! It's good and nice and... nice.

  64. guest-avatar

This has to be the most innovative game on the playstore. The whole idea of creating a simple yet functional game around simply dragging a progress bar on the desktop screen is nothing short of sheer genius. The art style, graphic and sound design are spot on and nail the nostalgia factor. The staggering amount of tiny bits of detail simply make this game so immersive, its fantastic. I'm having fun and hope to see more of such stuff.

I don't normally rate games but I had to go out of my way to give this game five stars. Everything about this is perfect, engaging and so much fun. The game developers have put so much into so many details and there are so many Easter eggs throughout. Easy 10 out 5 stars

  66. guest-avatar

A fun little twist on the classic catching-falling-eggs game, with enough free content for me to stay playing this. It's got decent variety, and a fun little goal for me to get to. Also, it works while not connected to the internet. Ads are a bit too frequent but otherwise great.

  67. guest-avatar

This is a game that was 25 years in the making. From the moment the game launched and I heard my trusty old hard drive booting up, all the way until I got the blue screen of death, I was hooked. You guys knocked this one out of the park! I was back in 1995; I could almost smell the cup of Caribou Coffee sitting next to my mousepad as I quickly closed the Annoying Popup. If you helped your mom figure out how to use Netscape Navigator, this game is definitely for you.

I normally don't write reviews but this game is so interesting I felt the need to, the main game itself is fun and gets challenging at higher levels but what I really like is the optional DOS clone to find Easter eggs for extra points... I'm still trying to figure out how to "Delete" system32 if it's even possible just to see how the game reacts, I see people complaining about ads but they honestly aren't that bad and there's the option to remove them if it's too much for you.

I absolutely love this game. I admire the developers for their dedication to accuracy--looking at the graphics is just like looking at an old PC screen and does give me a great sense of nostalgia. I also find it amusing that it "shuts down" like a classic PC.

Great nostalgia trip and captivating game. As others have said, the developer(s) poured heart and soul into this game. The many little details, great mini-games, and general attention to details all contribute to a very entertaning experience.

This is a pretty fun game. I personally like a lot of things about this especially that even though there are ads they never feel intrusive. And the game is a very good pick-up and drop-off game. Ask for recommendations, how about a computer port that allows you to drag-and-drop the progress bar instead of using your finger. Pretty much everything else is the same. It's up to get a better keyboard for progDos.

I usually don't like hyper-casual games, but this is an exeption. The whole concept is genius. The game itself is really entertaining, at first you dont't realize how hard it can be to collect only blues. I love every little detail, the DOS console is awesome. I love that you play for computer upgrades to the upgrade the OS. Genius. Keep up the good work! (from a computerphile)

It has been a long time since I haven't seen such an original and amusing game, plus ads are for few seconds, not intrusive. The first time I played it it made me smile for real. Brought memories. It's a creative idea and charmingly retarded in a good way.

This is such a genius idea ! I love the sounds, the interface and the challenging gameplay. I wouldn't even mind having a similar OS on my phone, because of the extremely high antention to details . I highly recommend this game to any computer enthusiastic.

Cool and original This game has potential. I really like this game. Hey creator, why not add bar skins and and a browser. The browser can help people find rare the green bar that fall. The skins can allow people to customize and personalize the bar. They can use photos and skins they unlocked.

A true casual masterpiece. Very easy to play and amazing to kill time. Currently I've got every OS unlocked and I hope there is more to come. There are some annoyances or bugs where clicks just dont register during defragmentation, while clicking on pop ups or cmd keyboard. Sometimes red blocks drop from the sides and if you go off sides you lose the game without even knowing it. Sometimes popups spawn where you are sitting and push you off. But apart from that everything is amazing!

This game is just brilliant! The idea is wonderful for us who happen to like computer science, and it is very nice to play. The hidden stuff are just exquisite. Honestly, one of my personal favourites. Sometimes though the instructions are not as clear and thorough as I would like so you have to learn some stuff while playing so you don't get always a perfect score. I'd give 4.8 stars. Giving 5 is fine yet not accurate. As said, love the game though. At this date the amount of add is correct.

Not sure if this is a bug or not, but it seems like the life counter has a habit of resetting to 2 (noticed it going down from 3, not sure if it ever went up from 1 magically), after "reboot" or between some levels (the bonus ones?), can't figure out any rhyme or reason to it. Minor gripe though, otherwise it's great.

  79. guest-avatar

absolutely fantastic, it works amazingly, ads can be disabled by turning off wifi because it works OFFLINE, and it perfectly recreates the operating systems it parodies! I love this game to pieces, especially considering the other games that spooky house has made, I feel that this is their crowning jewel. Good job spooky house, a flawless game all around!

A unique game within the sea of garbage that is the appstore. Only gripes I have is how ProgressDOS has somewhat clunky controls and please, please, PLEASE devs, make the wallpaper "Put in your phone" option copy the current Display properties. I want the 3rd Progressbar 95 plus wallpaper with 16 colors. 🤓 Update: I'm aware you can pull a wallpaper from ingame onto your actual wallpaper, but it seems to always be done with True Color, and I want it to be done with other Color Settings.

It's a good game. It would be better if they could add more interactions on the desktop, maybe like paint or something, just to add to the nostalgia. Also, unless I just haven't figured it out yet, there's not a way to choose which level you are on, you either continue as you are or start over. I'd personally like to be able to get a perfect record on every level.

Nostalgia with Simple Fun. I grabbed this on a whim, having used every windows system since 3.1 and I have to say, you spared no detail so far. I really like the DOS prompt minigame, would like to see more minigames added. I would totally play minesweeper and solitaire through this game than download another app. Excellent job. Edit: The attention to detail, sound effects, even the whirring of the 'fan' as the progress bar fills.. I am very impressed overall.

Very addictive with the little rewards that change the visual experience little by little. If I had any critiques it would be that there are some missed opportunities to make other changes as you progress, like 8 bit to modern sounds during play, how graphics cards gain shading, alpha, and 3D capabilities, and once the monitors get to LCD they could show less ghosting, or the widescreen giving more information about the play field. Lastly, the hardware that does nothing could have some function.

This app is great! It's a very good and effiecent time killer, and so fun to play! I really recommend it! But it's missing some stuff like practice mode and where you can shop for desktop programs to get more efficiency for each run! Other wise amazing fun game.

This game brings out my inner nerd so much. Such a simple game with such a cool concept in design. Being able to play through all of the variations of the Windows OS is a really neat idea. The UI designs for each OS capture the exact look and feel perfectly. Even down to the system crash environments. Kudos to the development team.

Playing about ten minutes now, but I absolutely love this game!!!! Reminds me those times when I was a kid with his first computer. Some people h8 the 95 OS, but it was good back then, and it's pretty nostalgic today.... The game is nicely done so... GREAT, GREAT JOB DEV TEAM!!!!

Fantastic game. If you grew up with these systems it will have you constantly smiling. The gameplay itself is simple but challenging after a while, hopefully later updates give us chance of interacting with other programs akin to the Command Prompt. Super fun and charming game

It's a lovely nostalgia trip. If you remember windows 95 and the excitement for it, give it a try.

  89. guest-avatar

Fun, pretty interesting. I did not get too far yet, but have a few points to note/suggest. Tutorial/help covers too little, in effect, penalizing you for curiosity. Portrait-only mode is a tad annoying. Even if it required a "reboot", landscape could have played pretty differently. No exit option in the menu. It is DOS, not *x, it should be \ not /, also no cd \ .EXE are executables, should work with e.g. just bonus, not bonus.exe In same vein, you need to TYPE .TXT files, not run them /oldfogey

This game is about catching the right segments to fill up a loading bar but pop ups and dangerous segments will try to get you to lose and you also need very good reflexes when every thing starts moving faster. I recommend that you download this game, this game is really addicting. If your phone is really bad, this game will barely slow your phone down, optimization in really good

This game is fun, and the retro Windows theme is a cool twist. The goal is to upgrade your computer, and when you succeed it feels really rewarding. The gameplay is good, and it really makes use of it being a mobile game with the controls. It would be really helpful to have some sort of chart or indication as to which colored blocks do what, though. There is a short tutorial for some mechanics at the start, but it was a bit confusing trying to figure out what earth the magenta blocks did.

Very fun! The gameplay is unique and is complimented with the classic aesthetic of the nostalgic Microsoft Windows Eras of the past and present. There's no microtransactions needed to unlock things (from what I have seen so far) and that's what I love most! My only real complaints are a few grammatical mistakes, for one the Blue Screen of Death when you lose a life shouldn't have quotation marks in the text, I also noticed that a 'Windows 98 Plus!' theme is missing, despite having one for 95.

  93. guest-avatar

Gameplay is pretty solid and challenging in higher levels. Ads are a necessary evil, but so far, no unskippable/unmute-able ones. I love the defrag and Error fix minigames, and there's hidden minigames. My nly gripe is that it's easy to accidentally open the language menu during a level. I also wish I could save the backgrounds to my phone's gallery or at least choose to use as home OR lock screen, not just both or not use it at all.

Great game overall. I would like for the controls to be exaggerated. Like, my finger starts in the middle of the screen and when I move left, the bar moves the same amount. This makes it very hard to move quickly as I have to reposition my finger. Would be a lot better if the bar moved proportionally to the length of it self

  95. guest-avatar

Nice game where you go through operating systems getting upgrades and moving on to the next one. Great visuals that represent the operating system really well. A few bad things are that when you get close to finishing a level on hardcore the little progress bars go way to fast for you to try and time to get them in the small space. Also if you try and doge say a red error and go outside of the seen area you might pick up something you didn't want. Other than these few problems its a great game.

If you are feeling nostalgic towards computer tech, this is the game for you. Even the traditional edges of a classic CRT monitor have been brought to your satisfaction. But nothing compares to the ol' HDD noises. Oh, that really got me! Feeling old yet? Wait until you see that, upon passing a level, you will have been granted a 400 MB ( as in MEGAbytes) HDD which is more than enough for your "brand new" "Progressbar 98" edition installation. In-game purchases, though, IMHO, are too expensive.

This game brings such warm, nostalgic feeling to a forgotten time in the computer world. The developer nailed so many little details that constantly puts a smile on your face. If you were a computer geek in the 90s-2000s, then this game is for you!

This is a great game for just passing a bit of time. It plays ads only occasionally and isn't too obtrusive with them. It gets a bit challenging as you level up further and it also gives me a bit of nostalgia with the old Windows OS aesthetics.

  99. guest-avatar

Really fun and unique game, I love that even though you do have the option to buy the different programs you can still play the game and unlock them through regular gameplay, albeit still putting up with ads even though they aren't that intruding.

This game is really great, and i don't know how it hasn't been known to alot of people. The aspect of it is outstanding, and the way that the creators use the viewers mind for the ads saying that their "obnoxious" and "annoying" really gets me. This game is amazing, and anyone who's looking at the ratings before the game should really get it if you want that good ol' 90's feel.
