Not too bad of a game. Time waster collection game. You can auto run your battles just fine if you wanted. Slow pick up through story line. Gems a bit expensive for what you actually get with them. No problem playing f2p so far. Will continue to play. BTW game has nice compensations for bug fixes and things of that nature; events, etc

09.2021 Edit: Although all my points still stand, the addition of a stamina bar really limits the upward mobility of this game. Changed to 4/5 While certainly not a perfect mobile game, having a game like this with no stamina bar that's free to play is a breath of fresh air. The devs are constantly adding new content, and collecting and battling with new pairs is fun. It's an enjoyable experience that's moving in the right direction so I'll stick with it.

So id give a better rating but i changed my mind. So yeah basically if you dont have money to buy the 3 star berry tarts. Youll never use a hatch pokemon. Just learned that. Spent all this time for nothing. Once you get to lv 100s for your pokemon the game gets stuck in a loop. All of my pokemon. I have 4 left that arent 100 but the other 60 are maxed. And im just stuck. The recommened types for each battle never work right. Like giovanni. All grass. Used em. Barely any damage. Niiiice balance

I've been playing this game since launch and can honestly say that it's been a blast! It's mostly f2p friendly, outside of very rare events where they really try to push the featured banner character, but most, if not all of the content can be beaten by anyone who invests enough time into the game. The music is great, the concept is amazing and with the first story part wrapping up, I can say now that the writing has been amazing thus far.

The game is good, the mechanics are simple, the graphics are nice and the overall content is entertaining. The catch so far is the huge amount of loading screens, the lack of interaction between other players (is non existence) and the fact that you won't always be able to use that favorite pokem I n that you always loved since it may be too weak and you will be forced to use other nice pokemons, but not those one that you were looking to use. Overall is a decent game.

Presentation is great, and the story is honestly better than most console Pokémon games. The main story does not require any grinding at all. You get a new character at the end of each chapter, who is both on level curve and has an advantage against the primary element used in the next chapter. However if you do grind, this game has some of the most abusive and predatory gacha mechanics of any game of this type. Good to play casually, but stay away from the microtransactions.

The game was better some time ago. I guess it's okay right now. The Champion Stadium is good enough. Stamina sucks in a game that used to let you play all you wanted. The graphics are good and the gameplay is fun, but the story is shallow like most gacha, and the original characters are very subpar so far. It manages to be fun enough to play a few minutes a day, but it isn't the obsession it was when it first got released.

Pokèmon Masters EX is a fresh take on the tried and true formula the series is known for. It's also great seeing so many characters from around the world of Pokèmon gathered in one place. You don't see a lot of the predatory monetization most mobile games go for either. It doesn't try to make you buy gems, there are no ads, and it doesn't try to get you to put in a review until a day in. My only problem with the game is the lack of customization options for the main character.

Gameplay is halfway decent. Optimization is horrible. The trickle of premium currency is incredibly weak. The quantity of random junk you need to save up for progress is stupidly large. And if you're dumb enough to spend real money on this game, you get almost no value for it unless you're dropping hundreds of dollars at a time. This game only survives by virtue of being a Pokemon game. Unsatisfying to play..

I've been playing this game almost since the beginning (once they fixed the Android 10 crash). Overall it's very fun. There's a lot of content and they bring updates and new features at least once a month so the game doesn't get stale. Biggest weakness is the cost of obtaining new units. While they give a lot of free currency you need even more to be able to consistently get units. It can feel very frustrating.
