I've been in an on and off relationship with for Pod. Repub years now. I've been using the app again for a year or so now, and find it to be working very well. Episodes download smoothly, without failing to do so properly or deleting for no reason, was an issue it had the last time I went to another app. My only complaint is the same with all the apps, that not every show I listen to is available, but that's the case with all of them at some point.

  2. Brian Tacke-avatar

I like the fast forward and speed changing options, and it's easy to use. I do have an issue with my pixel 2 xl Google Assistant. When I use voice to dial a phone number while this podcast republic app is playing, the call audio won't connect. People I call say that their phone is connected, but I can't hear them. Also, sometimes I will try to download a podcast over WiFi and if I leave the range before it's done it will fail, then even if I delete it and try again when connected it won't work.

  3. Umbrae Soulsbane-avatar

    Umbrae Soulsbane

Overall the app is serviceable. However playback often gets stuck. On 3 different devices after starting a podcast, if you pause it for any length of time the podcast will not restart. Clicking the play button simply does nothing. I have to go into Apps in the Android settings and force stop the application. Then I am able to resume playback. Edit: Battery settings are as recommended in FAQ but problem persists.

  4. Christine Roosa-avatar

    Christine Roosa

I switched over from another podcast app that I really liked, but found this one to have a better reach in finding some of the obscure podcasts that other apps haven't found. I like it will download the episodes directly to the playlist I select, so I don't have to do that later. My only complaint right now is that when I try to cast my audio to my Google home speaker, nothing plays. And when I stop casting, it loses the place I had in my podcast and I have to find my location again.

  5. David Murphy-avatar

I've been using this app for years. It updates regularly, if there are ads I haven't noticed them, and it keeps track of my podcast subscriptions, downloads what I want and plays them with options to skip forward etc. You can customise whether or not it uses mobile data and where it stores your downloads. It's everything I need.

  6. Shem-avatar

Wish I could give it the five but 1 key feature is the mark episode as played after a certain percentage. Update after update and it still doesn't work. I've had Motorola phones and Samsung phones and it never marks the episodes as played after my set percentages. And yes I play the episode well pass the percentage mark and it still doesn't work.

  7. Kallie-avatar

This has every feature I needed, all together in one app. Shuffle or ordered play. Easy "play next"/"append to upcoming" for queueing up a bunch for the workday. Easy Playlist creation for bedtime/meditation listening. Easy to change podcast-specific settings (ie: don't delete my bedtime podcasts after listening; keep them in the Playlist indefinitely). Easy search and RSS feed adding. Sleep timer can be set to end of episode or by minutes. so muuuch. AND quick responses on Twitter if issues.

  8. Michael Baum-avatar

I've used at least 10 different podcast apps, and this is by far the best in terms of features and ability to customize, and although they all have their quirks, this one is fairly straightforward once you get the hang of it. It even comes with an equalizer if you're into fine tuning the sound for the speaker or headphones you're using.

  9. David Florance-avatar

I ran across Podcast republic a few years ago. The feature set is rich and highly configurable, and reliability is great. It does take a little getting used to, and is worth it. I have tried a half dozen other apps but they could not complete with the capibilities available here. Up to triple speed playback (with a guided addtl free add on app), access to any Podcast, global and individual auto download, auto delete, skip the first and end custom number of seconds set by podcast. Try it today!

  10. Ed Goforth-avatar

I love the app, but the website is useless. I have never been able to log in, regardless of the browser used. I appreciate your response, but I'm a paying customer, and continually get errors syncing from the app. And then I can't even log in to see what's been synced.

  11. Max Srebro-avatar

The latest update is horrendous and includes intrusive disruptive ads that pop up and interrupt the experiencs. I'm fine with constant banner ads but this is really annoying, why would I put up with pop up ads that make it hard to use the app when there are dozens of other podcast apps with less annoying ads. Guess it's time to bite the bullet and install spotify

  12. Emz M.M.C-avatar

Wide selection of subject matter. Always find something interesting to listen to, no matter what I'm feeling in the mood for. As an app it's reliable, never had any problems with it working. Spent any a sleepless night with this app on in the background. Thanks!

  13. John Brown-avatar

This app used to be pretty good. Now it's super buggy. Starts and stops at random and ads pop in over the controls causing accidental ad clicks. Pretty gross. I'll be checking out the latest update for a day or two, but I'm shopping around.

  14. Robyn Screen-avatar

I've been using this app for years and love it. Simple, organized, works as expected. The one time I encountered a bug, I emailed about my issue and they responded within minutes and had a patch for the issue same day!

  15. Nick Irwin-avatar

Came here from Beyond Pod. That app keeps feeling my podcast library, and wouldn't even let me download some of them even after I paid for premium. Podcast Republic is better in every way. Very well organized, great UI, custom playlists, etc.

  16. Brian Cooley-avatar

Pretty decent app. Shows don't always get marked as watched/listened after you've watched/listened, and a lot of times the player just stops playing, but doesn't close or crash. Overall, it's a good podcast app.

  17. David Smith-avatar

overall a very good app. get access to virtually any podcast. there have been some minor issues, but technology is never perfect -- basically because of the humans.

  18. Tom Croke-avatar

Great app. However over the last week I'm having issues with podcasts pausing, and they only restart when I open my phone. Is anyone else having this issue?

  19. Phone Record-avatar

Schedule alarm not consistent. Some radio Stations that played before now report an error "stopped in error", no longer plays radio on mobile networks. A screen blank out for a millisecond occurs c when opening.

  20. Inna S-avatar

Wow! Has everything I want: tags to organize my podcasts, playlists, themes and much more. And it does it basic function perfectly. Considering the affordable buying premium to support devs.

  21. Pedro de Sá Guimarães-avatar

    Pedro de Sá Guimarães

So far so good. I only can't figure out how to change my profile picture. It doesn't use my gmail picture or allows me to do anyhting else. Other than that fluid and well built app.

  22. Kevin Weishaar-avatar

Best podcast app out there! Only issue is that it jumps around when you open it so you'll be going to click Playlist and it will switch and you click skip which means it deletes what you are listening to

  23. Frank-avatar

Works great dropped connection a few times but almost never. Maybe that was my network. Regardless there is no reason to not use this app.

  24. Lincoln Johnson-avatar

    Lincoln Johnson

This is the only app that I would ever use to listen to podcasts ever it is amazing and always has the podcasts I love from movie review to sports and lifestyle it has everything that you could ever ask for in a podcast app

  25. John Vollmer-avatar

Works great for me, I especially like the audio equalization settings on an individual podcast basis. Excellent level of settings and customization.

  26. Brian Dixon-avatar

Good podcast app, wish there was a way to have more intricate filters based on episode names, rather than needing to tag everything everytime an episode drops from the same feed

  27. Edward Kornkven-avatar

    Edward Kornkven

This app has many nice features for finding, listening to, and catching up on podcasts. Skipping the beginning and ending, playing in reverse order and making settings for each podcast are helpful. I had some trouble with the comment section of a podcast rating page, but that is the only glitch I can think of. I would use it on my iPad if it were on the Apple.

  28. Shaq-avatar

I'm using this app for a few weeks and do like it in general. However there is one glitch which has recently developed. which is keeping me from the paying for the this app. When I play a podcast the natural screen is "now playing" which makes sense. However recently with no reason the screen automatically switches to the "up next" screen ; which takes you away from the controls to pause skip and so forth. Please fix this as I would need to look for an alternative podcast player.

  29. M Arkin-avatar

Solid & well-performing app. Many sophisticated features & capabilities. I especially appreciate ability to import MP3s from non-podcast subscriptions. Because app has many features, the user interface can be daunting, but resulting personalization of the interface makes it worth the effort to understand the design. Some minor issues associated with MP3 importation, like inconsistencies in managing the corresponding graphics. This is an exceptionally good app and I rely on it every day.

  30. A Google user-avatar

Dope Edit: This app worked so well for a really long time and I loved it. It was the only app I liked but in the past week or two it has been maddeningly glitchy. It scrolls without me touching it and the screen keeps shifting to a specific setting that I don't like. I did the uninstall/reinstall thing but it didn't work. Maybe it's my phone, who knows? I will check back in for updates because it is a great app but I'll have to switch to another one for a while.

  31. Eric Waters-avatar

So, this is a really great podcast player, and I like it a lot, but it has one absolutely terrible design flaw that's making me uninstall: playlist management is just bad. You can't add a whole podcast to a new playlist, and you can't even choose which playlist you're adding an episode to - you have to set defaults in the settings. So, if you want to set up per-podcast playlists, you're out of luck. Otherwise, it's great.

  32. Kirill Skliarov-avatar

    Kirill Skliarov

Just installed application and could not add virtual podcast. Several times repeated adding folder with music and no subscription was created.

  33. Josef H.-avatar

This would be a great podcast player if it didn't always open with the full-screen controls. It's really annoying. EDIT: I always open/launch the app using the widget as it's the only way to go straight to the downloaded podcasts (with the appropriate button enabled).

  34. Homura Nagato-avatar

I love this app. It lets me listen to all of my podcasts and internet radio. With a plethora of customization options my layout and colors are exactly how I want them. A feature I really like is being able to set my own cover art, it makes things look nice. I also really like how fast it is on syncing new podcasts and options to auto download. This is the best podcast, internet radio app on the market.

  35. Matt Walker-avatar

Easy to use. Lots of options. Helpful and responsive tech support.

  36. Ashley Chase-avatar

Never have a problem knowing if the latest podcast has uploaded, they always have the newest ones available.

  37. Jeffrey sutter-avatar

Cuts out and restarts stuff for no reason. Soums can be quieter than it should be through this platform.

  38. Ben Yahr-avatar

Latest update stops playback every 90 seconds or so. Extremely frustrating, waking the phone resumes playback. Edit: thanks for the tip from the dev. Made no difference, also noted that subscriptions didn't refresh. Rolled back to 20.4.24 and everything is fine.

  39. oi Sassy Maate-avatar

I was JUST about to buy podcast addict but they moved to IAP..so you can't family share which was a no sale for us. Which worked out because this app is so much better. It seemed a little intimidating at the start, but that wore off after 3mins. I'm new to podcasts (only been listening for 6 months to art bell)..so it's probably not as intimidating as I thought. It's priced very fairly. I can't fault it at all other than a few issues that I'm just seeing if it's me or the app. It's Probably me.

  40. Uli Mohr-avatar

Just perfect for what I want. Can download podcasts and listen later offline.

  41. Shane Peterson-avatar

The only real issue I have is that the ads sit just below the play button, and have an odd tendency to load just as I'm trying to hit play. The result is the play button jumps upward just as my thumb hits the screen and I click on the ad instead. Other than that, it's a great app!

  42. Sam DeRoy-avatar

Stable, great features, easy to understand UI. Definitely my new podcast app.

  43. Seosaidh-avatar

Excellent interface, playback options, and audio quality.

  44. Rami Jubara-avatar

This app has every feature I've ever wanted in a podcast app, and then a few more that I didn't know I wanted until I got them.

  45. Pilastr Agonistes-avatar

    Pilastr Agonistes

Clunky UI requires four taps to get to where you can type in the Search field. Playback bar hides freq functions like "Skip Ahead" "Mark Episode Played" and while you can Favorite an episode there is no way to then find your favorites! This UI optimizes ads (hidden skip ahead button) and pushing new crappy podcasts rather than managing my own.

  46. Clayton Fawcette-avatar

    Clayton Fawcette

Edited review: I wrote a review about 2 years ago and it was a poor review due to changes they had made. Since then, most, if not all of my issues are fixed.

  47. Colleen Bryant-avatar

This app is constantly crashing. In the last 10 minutes it has crashed twice and this is normal. You can't use your phone for anything else while using this app or it will crash. Even a text notification will cause a crash.

  48. Allison Bojarski-avatar

    Allison Bojarski

This app has been reliable for years but lately I have major issues with it. I have a Pixel 2XL and it doesn't play well with this app in that when I pull down the notifications screen I can't see this app and pause it. I also have TicPods headphones that when I pause an episode, it usually makes the episode jump ahead to the end. Any chance these issues are already on your radar?

  49. Gordon Geise-avatar

I've tried a bunch of players. This one is the least idiosyncratic I have found.

  50. Little Rascal-avatar

I would like to give it a higher rating. I really want to and I hope to. But there are a couple of things I am unhappy with it. Even with the bought app the podcasts does not start on alarm time. And alarm doesn't always work (the main reason why I paid was because of the feature). I also realise that I can't listen through the app without wifi (unsure yet if it was me or the app and will have to be sure first). I really really would like the app to work. This interface is the best I have used

  51. Keith Shapiro-avatar

Radio "stopped on error." So the stations dont work with the update

  52. Kyle Guyon-avatar

Honestly, full of bugs and design desicions that are just plain poor. If I didnt already have subscriptions on here I would delete immediatley

  53. James Wong-avatar

Absolutely terrible update. This was my go-to podcast player until the recent update. Instead of displaying how much time has been played in the current podcast you're listening to, it now only displays how much time is left in the podcast. Which idiot decided to change this? I listen to podcasts that are extremely long and they put time-stamps on the episode. Now, I have no idea where the time-stamps are. Thanks a lot geniuses. Time to download a new app.

  54. Ahmed Faraas-avatar

Tries to do too much and misses the basics. (1) Deletes downloads before the new episode is downloaded leading to a period of time where you don't have any downloaded episodes available for listening.

  55. Zack Preston-avatar

Finally, the podcast app I've been looking for. Tried a whole bunch of them. Podcast Republic is intuitive, well organized, easily configured and highly responsive. It feels like they asked me what I want a podcast app to do and built it.

  56. Dennis Murray-avatar

Great app with simple and effective layout where I can easily access all my favourite podcasts. Very easy to create a favourite lists, search for new podcasts and even to select specific episodes for easy recall. And with a very reasonable one-off payment I was happy to upgrade to the ad-free version.

  57. Peter Kroll-avatar

This is now my go-to podcsdt app. I like it a lot. The best part of this is that it incorporates an amplifier, which is great with my Pixel which is a little soft. I can listen even when background noise is loud. A great feature.

  58. Paul Devlin-avatar

Download anyway not working. Tiesto Club Life is being recognised as a video Podcast. If I press back button, the app crashes. I don't use video podcasts. Can there be a permanent setting to only play as audio, I need to change this every single time. Would like to hide the new and unnecessary media player button arrangement (sleep timer, like, playback speed, next and menu)

  59. Todd Morgan-avatar

Works very well. Haven't used all features yet. My best Podcast app. 👍

  60. Jonathan Sinclair-avatar

    Jonathan Sinclair

Brilliant app. Makes downloading podcasts for offline really easy.

  61. Aaron Bopp-avatar

Very easy to use but also has every feature I've ever needed

  62. Owen Curtiss-avatar

A nice place to collect podcasts. You can make playlists easily. Downloads are nice, but sometimes get confused if the connection is lost, and then it might neither play nor download that episode for days.

  63. Adam Lepp-avatar

Update as of April 14. The app was recently updated and is now very unstable. Crashing, subscribed podcasts not displaying properly, white flashes on the screen, force closing for some random reason, widget failing to respond.

  64. G. Wayne Meaney-avatar

    G. Wayne Meaney

Nice app, though it would improve from a slight UI change to make chapters more easily accessible, without lots of swipes and pages and tabs. Maybe a simple caret indicator on the play timeline?

  65. Gideon Mwaba-avatar

Good app, though it uses a lot of data when retrieving new episodes/podcasts (compared to other apps), if you could work on that it would be my daily drive

  66. Falling Phoenix-avatar

    Falling Phoenix

This app does just about everything I want it to and it does it well. The user experience is excellent.

  67. Andreas Böhm-avatar

The easiest to use user interface I have seen in any podcast app. At first I didn't see how to add bookmarks, but it's under the chapters tab in the playback screen. Very useful.

  68. César Salas-avatar

I was impressed with the amount of features it has. It blew me away to be able to subscribe to YT podcast (video) loving it!

  69. Trevor Kelner-avatar

It is a little clunky at first but has all the functionality you need.

  70. Abbie Howell-avatar

Simple interface, very flexible. Love it.

  71. Carmen Castrucci-avatar

    Carmen Castrucci

S8. This is just a really great podcast app. It's easy to subscribe to a podcast (or use its RSS feed to subscribe), create and edit playlists, and sort playback as you please.

  72. Benjamin Farkash-avatar

    Benjamin Farkash

This has been my go-to podcast player for years. I've never really tried another one, so I can't compare. Four stars because the UI is a little clunky, but I do recommend.

  73. Zack G-avatar

Really good app. There are a bunch of helpful customizable features that I messed around with at the very beginning and don't touch anymore, like rewind / fast forward length.

  74. A Google user-avatar

This used to be a great, simple podcast player. You now need a degree to use it. It's so complex it's ridiculous. A light version that simply plays and stores podcasts would be great.

  75. John Weiss-avatar

I use this app constantly — no, really. I listen to podcasts at work and while in the car, so my podcast app is always running. And Podcast Republic has the most features on any I've tried. Well worth paying for!

  76. Greg Neill-avatar

Used to work perfectly but now it cuts of when I navigate round my phone

  77. Jason Stevens-avatar

Excellent app. Very easy to configure to get exactly the right custom experience. I've used it to listen to thousands of casts over the last 4 years. Very reliable.

  78. Mrk Wat-avatar

Great app, lots of options, easy to use and customize for Pods, Radio and RSS news feeds, would recommend.

  79. Jeff Dunlap-avatar

Excellent app easy to get all of my favorite podcasts in one place

  80. paul hollings-avatar

Great app. Does exactly what you need. Recommended.

  81. Gary Krone-avatar

There are a few things that are not intuitive, but they can be worked around. It plays and tracks pod casts very well.

  82. Luke Bartelt-avatar

Great app, would give 5 stars except for the late loading ad bar that pops up at the bottom right when you go to click play

  83. Eric Davis-avatar

Awesome podcast to use daily. The sound is so clear and consistent.

  84. Boaz Toledano-avatar

Missing the ability to skip from the phone drop-down menu

  85. Brandon Rose-avatar

Great app. Has all the podcasts I like. Great additional features like faster playback and sound levels. Highly recommend.

  86. S Bdttech-avatar

I asked were to go to find good Podcasts and one of my friends suggested this site and it's amazing with pretty much everything you can think of. Great App

  87. Dave Butler-avatar

I used to use Castbox. This is simpler, faster, more compact and much less ad riddled! The best podcast app so far!

  88. Andrew O'Dea-avatar

Great experience until you injected all the ads before, during and after the podcast. Absolute overkill and I will no longer use this app

  89. Shane Mathers-avatar

I have tried several podcast apps, and this is far and away the best I've found. Great interface and very customizable.

  90. Ken Byrne-avatar

Works well. Easy to use. I especially like the control I have over playlist/queue.

  91. Karl Kelly-avatar

Works pretty great. The search function isn't bad, but it could be made smoother imho.

  92. Glennie B-avatar

Great app, easy to use. Love that I can synch podcast subscriptions across devices.

  93. Steve Rish-avatar

The best podcast app available! Works great, developer regularly rolls out features & bug fixes. A must have for podcast listeners.

  94. Mendy Murphy-avatar

Smooth interface, easy to navigate, and a lot of great podcasts.

  95. Kim Higgins-avatar

The best thing on a warm day? A cold drink, a chair in the sun, and your headphones on listening to your favorite podcast from Podcast Republic!

  96. Sam Kocsis-avatar

Good selection, relatively easy UI. Could be more pared down in terms of its search function and scrubbing but overall good app

  97. Grambler5410-avatar

Great app for all my favorite pods. Great interface, and having the dark mode feature is awesome.

  98. Robson Parker-avatar

Usually use spotify, but needed this for other podcasts. Great little app, works really well.

  99. Kevin Aptin-avatar

Your recent update is terrible. Everytime I switch apps, the podcast turns off. After I download a podcast, it keeps showing that I'm still downloading.
