Google Play Reviews

  1. Ruth Riddel-avatar

it crashes in the middle of playback and often inexplicably starts an episode over. however, all of my biggest problems are with playlists. they're pathetically slow to start an episode in - i almost always have to leave or even close and restart the app - and i find that often two to four episodes are skipped in the middle of an episode for no apparent reason at all. seriously considering moving away.

  2. Vitaly Zdanevich-avatar

    Vitaly Zdanevich

I can not play many episodes - without any error on screen - just nothing when push to play button :(

  3. Mikhaila Yeketerina-avatar

    Mikhaila Yeketerina

This podcast app used to work all the time and be very fast with streaming, but it's not the case anymore. It would stop in the middle of a podcast and restart what I was listening to without my pressing any buttons, and the speed of podcsat playback used to be 1 second, now it's 10 minutes... Very dissapointed

  4. Hadlee Simons-avatar

Could do with a more comprehensive catalogue but otherwise, fantastic offline functionality, solid design and speedy performance makes it my go-to podcast app.

  5. jack frazier-avatar

Please tell me where the offline settings are at.

  6. A Google user-avatar

    Very simple but powerful!

  7. preeti lamba-avatar

  8. Liudmer Odaase-avatar

... But can it be possible for the cover to show without the description, I'd like to see the cover image without that black shade and description

  9. Igor Igor-avatar

Need to add support for online radio (live stream).

  10. Ian MacDonald-avatar

I emailed the developer with a problem, within a few days he had an update pushed that should solve the issue. Awesome work, great app!

  11. JP SA-avatar

Sorry but this is ridiculous to keep now all episodes as the removed file option has been cancelled. So I am chosen another podcast apli. That is a shame

  12. Randall Glissen-avatar

    Randall Glissen

no ads, simple, perfect podcast app

  13. Yousef Odeibat-avatar

I usually dont review apps. But this app is awesome! I have tried many apps, all of them had their drawbacks. But this one is great; it is simple to use, and the design is great. I wasn't sure if i should download it at first because it doesn't have many downloads, but it is the best podcast app here.

  14. Scott Prawalsky-avatar

    Scott Prawalsky

Best podcast app I have found. Does what you need well, and does not over complicate things with unnecessary features. Very quick developer response and fix to a bug.

  15. Brian Hazard-avatar

    Simple and Effective

  16. isis deakin-avatar

this app just...works. completely and neatly. the only issue I have is when i delete a podcast, i cant seem to restore it. i reinstalled it because id deleted episode 48 of a podcast and could no longer restore it. otherwise? this has never failed me on any other aspect.

  17. Ryan Felkner-avatar

Just switched back to Android, and this app is still one of the best and most simple podcast apps out there. Search has gotten better as well. All the functionality I want and clean and simple layout. Still my favorite!

  18. Todd Schmidt-avatar

How do I sync my podcasts on different devices or export, so I can import a copy of podcasts to another device? I'm signed in throughput Google plus. Still severely podcasts missing on my Galaxy tab. Worse, only the last played episode is playable from my tablet. Click on an episode and the podcast's picture takes up the whole screen. No episodes to choose from.

  19. Tiger Woops-avatar

files are mixed up with other episodes or music files in the phone. sometimes downloads are not working. now unistalling and looking for a better app.

  20. Manish Gill-avatar

A few bugs: 1. Moving the podcast location from internal memory to SD card caused the podcast artwork to be disabled and I had empty squares. Had to re-add them to get the art back. 2. The app seems to crash or the player would stop as soon as I move the focus from the app to Home or some other app. This has been a repeated problem. I only seem to be able to play episodes as long as I'm inside the app. Makes multitasking while listening to podcasts harder. :( 3. Needs Episode Sorting (not Podcast sorting).By default podcasts are sorted with latest episodes first, but for many podcasts, I would like for to go through the episodes in a chronological order. That'd be great feature to have. This is one of my favourite apps. Keep at it! :)

  21. Stephen Tack-avatar

Keeps closing. Very annoying. Also why can't the podcast in a series play automatically, or when skipped to?

  22. S Gill-avatar

Restored with Titanium Backup. Podcast Artwork will not download or display

  23. Carlos Teran-avatar

This is by far the best podcast app available for Android. The sheer simplicity of the interface, the way you can sort out your episodes and subscriptions with ease, the adherence to Material design guidelines and stability, make it stand out. But the single fact that this is actually an entirely free app without ads and only an optional donation pack (very reasonable), make it perfect. It's more stable and useful than most paid apps.

  24. Aaron Griffith-avatar

This app would be perfect with a manual sort function. Unfortunately, it's my most wanted feature in a podcast player and this podcast app doesn't have it. You have to play the episodes on your list(s) in a predetermined order (date, length, etc.). I want to play the episodes in the order of MY choosing, not in a programmed order that the app let's you pick from.

  25. Eric Walker-avatar

Just get this app! There is no explanation needed. It is even simpler than Apple's iOS podcast app, but it has more features and is just great! Plus, bonus points for having Night Vale in the screenshots.

  26. John Peterson-avatar

No bells and whistles. It downloads podcasts

  27. Ben-avatar

Clean, simple and functional. Looks like a stock google/AOSP app. Works really well - best podcast app I have found on Android so far! The only thing I don't like is the icon design - would like it to be flat and unshaded.

  28. Kaio Araujo-avatar

The app's really good. The only problem is when I accidentally delete an podcast episode and just can't undo this. And I don't know why the app just don't download podcasts episode cover.

  29. Aard vark-avatar

No ads, works as it should

  30. A Google user-avatar

I love how I can change the theme. Great job developer.

  31. Vladimir Plokhov-avatar

    Vladimir Plokhov

    The best podcast app ever!!!

  32. Ania Kowalik-avatar

I've downloaded this app with a few others to choose the best podcasting app. I had been disappointed with Podcast Addict when I lost all my saved files after one of their updates. Now I am fed up with Pocket Casts because the their 'up next' playlist keeps crashing. Well, it's impossible to test Podcast O2 because the search function doesn't work. Whether you search by title or browse their categories, you end up staring at an empty screen until you get an error message. It's a joke. Don't waste your time.

  33. shameer h-avatar

Have a major problem, it don't have a repeat feature to repeat individual episodes please add this feature

  34. Jesse Cloud-avatar

Isn't showing video podcasts in the subscription stream.

  35. Jessica Lundbom-avatar

    Jessica Lundbom

I won't lie. I like Podcast Addict better but it ate all my phone space and I needed a new app. This is the first I've tried, since I had to break up with PA, that didn't actively suck bowling balls. It's not great but my urge to reconfigure my phone with a hammer has abated some. Better search interface and easier overview and I might upgrade to four stars. The ability to search entire networks definitely would. Big ups for having the choice to download to the SD card. If PA had that we'd still be together

  36. Martin Matthews-avatar

    Martin Matthews

This player is so simple I even forgot what it was called. I like to listen in the car so I want to subscribe and then have episodes downloaded as they are made available. Then they need to play from old to new. This player is the first that does all those things and does them reliably. Other players I spent hours trying to gett hem to work this one was up and running in minutes and apart from clicking play and pause has needed no attention since. The little player on my home screen (and the lock screen) means I have never even needed to start the app. I'd say it was perfect if I could work out how to unsubscribe from podcasts but that's probably me being dumb (it was I worked it out just after and the next day the developer replied as well!).

  37. min remote-avatar

I finally found (by accident) that by pulling down the blue bar in podcasts view, I can force the downloads (depending on wireless and charger settings). Probably covered somewhere, but couldn't find it explained. So less of a review and more a FYI. I like both the playlist feature and sleep timer. Even the effort to use the headset button is impressive (despite Samsung still riding the "special" bus on this one - 1st world problem?)

  38. Clarkson Fisher III-avatar

    Clarkson Fisher III

A few things I'd work on here but the majority of functions work perfectly.

  39. Giovanni Filippi-avatar

    Giovanni Filippi

Simple poscast app. A good alternative if you are coming from itunes. Clean material design. Good job!

  40. Sassie Couzens-avatar

I love listening to WTNV and also This Week In Virology on this, great app.

  41. Francis So-avatar

Decent design but odd bug that automatically loads Podcast O2 in the background when connecting to bluetooth.

  42. Daniel Wong-avatar

The best podcast app on Android.

  43. Chris Walsh-avatar

Is a nice podcast app and can easily find all kinds of podcasts I enjoy weather they be audio or video, however there are a few bugs which could do wkth ironing out such as sosmetimes not displaying podcasts when returning to portrait view from watching a podcast in landscape. I very much like the design of the app and would definitely be using it and maybe supporting it for future updates.

  44. Leo Paolo Fernando-avatar

    Leo Paolo Fernando

Simple and beautiful design, smooth transitions, very easy to use. I think i found my new podcast source. One request. I listen to the kecin and bean kroq podcast, however there is no pic/thumbnail for it. Small favor and add a hi res of it please? Thanks!

  45. Jānis Emulis-avatar

Clean looking and with no distractions, has probably all you need at this moment. Multi-selecting and maybe advanced search result control(sorting, reviews) would greatly improve the experience.

  46. A R-avatar

Great design, some fine touches can be done to the material design. But very very good. Appreciate if there is a storage limit

  47. D. K.-avatar

Extremely buggy, cannot download any podcast, but cancel fails too

  48. Andy Darcy-avatar

Not bad at all! Needs a better way of searching for podcasts that are Hot, Trending, etc. Finish Material Design integration as well (the search area for example) and continue to squash bugs and improve overall app performance. This will be a 5 star app in no time. I look forward to the next feature filled update.

  49. Ryan R-avatar

    No roosterteeth podcasts

  50. Dominic Aloisio-avatar

    Dominic Aloisio

Quick, responsive, clean and simple. Exactly what I was looking for.

  51. Matt Green-avatar

Very nice podcast app, looks great, runs great, heaps of awesome features. Gripe 1 - in a playlist, if a podcast needs to buffer during streaming playback, it skips the rest and starts playing the next episode. Gripe 2 - the search function didn't work for me and I had to manually add podcasts by their URL. But it is free so overall I love it!

  52. James Begley-avatar

I selected to download 30 of my favourite podcasts yet after all saykng downloaded app is only showing 8 as done. The rest are in a never ending loop! Have only found two out of three shows I wanted to subscribe too one of which the link does not work so only have one show with less than a 30% success on the download completion hence my rating. Looked great looked like the app I was craving after using Apple for years but it's been kerb down. If it worked I would have paid for it.

  53. youssef Mahmoud-avatar

    youssef Mahmoud

    This app is really nice

  54. Sam Walker-avatar

Just got the update and it crashes every time I try to open the app, is this just me it happens to or is anyone else finding this issue? Other than that a wonderful app and a stunning UI, would have gotten 5 stars! EDIT: Excellent! Unfortunately my settings and sub's were lost but I'll attribute that to uninstalling to try and fix the crash issue. Thanks for the speedy reply and update! :)

  55. A Google user-avatar

The app looks very good with animations and good feature set. There are a few crash bugs when trying to download podcasts and sometimes the layout overlaps previous screens. My biggest issue, not being able to download over 3G, was fixed by the developer quickly.

  56. Cole Blackman-avatar

This is a great app. In the side menu, a "downloaded" section would be useful. Is grid view a possibility? Also, a green/ material teal theme would be nice. Still nearly perfect though.

  57. David S.-avatar

Often crashes or takes a while to play . Also, the 'variable playback speed' stopped working soon after installing, which is a deal-breaker for me. I'm on a (new) Moto X.

  58. Sean M-avatar

Simple modern interface, variable speed playback, great search, no adds, easy to manage casts... This is the best podcast app I have tried. THANK YOU!

  59. Ali Nakhai-avatar

Good podcast player. A tad slow with the search and a bit bland but just as good all around as many of the paid alternatives otherwise. Highly recommended.

  60. James Ng-avatar

    Perfect UI

  61. Kevin O-avatar

Everything works flawlessly but the playback speed is too fast on my Acer liquid z3, hopefully a update will fix it. Great work overall.

  62. goofy foot-avatar

I just wanted to pick my own podcasts, download and listen on my bike on the way to work. Perfect. No bs. Just subscribe to the podcast and download the episodes you want. Please do not change this app!

  63. Jim Walden-avatar

    Doesn't work. Crashed

  64. Dave Morris-avatar

The very first thing it did was crash. Combine this with the fact that it requires far more permissions than other podcast apps and hmm probably malware DO NOT INSTALL

  65. Frank Almaraz-avatar

This app is very clean and straight to the point. It's nice that you can download or stream just about any podcast. I did experience some technical issues early on with this app, but the app’s development team has been absolutely outstanding at addressing the issues. This development team has outstanding customer service! Overall, the app is great! I would highly recommend this app for anyone who loves to watch/listen to podcasts!!!

  66. Eoin Jones-avatar

I have tried out numerous podcast apps and this is the best I have found. No adds, clean and simple but with all the features I need. The UI on the search menu could be improved but otherwise a great app.

  67. Jay Porta-avatar

So many developers make cluttered, confusing podcast apps. This one is clean, relatively easy to use (some menus could've been accessible via long-pressing podcasts), not cluttered, and free. It works well, uses Android design language wonderfully. Please keep up on this app. It's the only one I can use without getting irritated. .

  68. Matt Sim-avatar

Great work! It's like you read my mind!

  69. marcus kenny-avatar

But I like the work so far.

  70. A Google user-avatar

I like it but I can't download any episode from any podcast stream. Nothing happens on wifi or not. I can stream. I cannot force download or auto-download. I'm using an SD card on my Galaxy S5. I will keep the app installed hopping that a future update will fix this as this app looks exactly like what I've been searching for: simplicity and options that make sense for listening to podcasts.

  71. Sam Martin-avatar

    Sd card unusable on kitkat

  72. Chinmaya Beuria-avatar

    Chinmaya Beuria

Great application, simple, clean and elegant. But the Google account integration is far too buggy. Crashing Google play service at each manual sync. Doesn't sync any feed either.

  73. Nancy G-avatar

Samsung galaxy. DOESN'T download unless I connect to wifi even though I changed the setting download when I'm not connected to wifi. Seems like a nice app other wise and simple easy to use. I do wish wish there was a way to select multiples so I can remove many from my list at once or download all selected.

  74. 徐得龙-avatar

The greatest podcast app I've ever used

  75. Tariq-avatar

Great feature line up, no ads. Sadly force closes way too often. Can't launch the app through the widget.

  76. Denver Fernandes-avatar

    Denver Fernandes

Great app. Simple to use and the search function is very useful. One improvement that could be made would be to add a dark theme option.

  77. Hubbard Jones-avatar

If you don't know the name of the podcast you want, don't expect this app to recommend any. It's empty. Video streams don't do enhanced speed like VLC supporting podcast apps, Doublepod or Podcast Repulic

  78. Andrew Rea-avatar

The app itself is pretty good, but the constant nagging to sign in to my Google account got annoying, No problem I'll just go into apps and turn notifications off... Or so I thought. but no the nagging carried on so goodbye app, hello uninstall button.

  79. Alex Gysi-avatar

Did not work. Couldn't play downloaded podcasts. Tried to add another podcast using subscribe several times, did not add to the list. Pity app looked promising, simple no ads.

  80. Ze C.-avatar

Decent app but one major inconvenience for me is the lack of user control on update time and frequency. While the app is supposed to do that automatically the recognition of a new episode can lag behind substantially compared to other apps set to check for updates every 2 hours.

  81. Lucas Mendieta-avatar

The app feels robust and easy to navigate, and I've never had any issue finding any of my favorite podcasts. The only thing I find missing is a volume boost for those specially quiet hosts.

  82. Paul Cabaj-avatar

Simple interface.. a bit too simple and kept crashing. Often got stuck while updating.

  83. Josh Reed-avatar

Worked ok, but stored the same data on both my device and on my SD card, so it used twice the space it should have. Slowed my phone down significantly.

  84. Dan Davis-avatar

Would like the ability to manually organize the episodes in the custom playlist. Only 3 current options currently: when published, when downloaded and last played. Have medical podcast from different sources and would like to arrange similar topics next to each other in the playlist manually. Thanks.

  85. sTeven dickersOn-avatar

    sTeven dickersOn

Wouldn't download episodes, and while it "worked" on downloading them you couldn't call or text. There was no way to stop the downloading either. Had to delete the app, then restart my phone five times to get it all cleared off

  86. FX Wagner Jr.-avatar

Tried everything, adjusted the few settings that were available, could not get any podcasts to automatically download. Uninstalled.

  87. savvy-avatar

I've tried others but this is the easiest to use and can add own podcasts plus it's free.

  88. Noah Ramirez-avatar

There is nothing really wrong with it. There are just better podcast apps out there.

  89. roland lilly-avatar

Streams but ties me to WiFi, as if streams and download is different.

  90. Jacky Chen-avatar

    very good app

  91. Вася Пипеткин-avatar

    Вася Пипеткин

    Too good
