This is an excellent app. The only one I have paid for (even though there is a free full version with ads). I recommend to Android users all the time. Very customizable & easy to use. You can set up different podcasts with different download controls. Series podcasts can set up old to new episodes. Current events podcasts can keep one (or three) current episodes only. Great interface options. I have moved the app (and Downloads) across three phones. I have it set up to download on WiFi so I can listen on long commute.

  2. Bud Wimer-avatar

Nice podcast app. I recently switched to Android and chose Podcast Addict because the Google Music app was lousy and Addict had high reviews. I wasn't disappointed. Addict has so many options and settings it is easy to get lost. However, it can find just about any podcast if you know what you are looking for. I definitely recommend it.

  3. Glide Captivate-avatar

    Glide Captivate

Amazing. Best podcast app. Can handle excessive subscriptions (90), 500+ playlists, 300+ hours of time, raised and lowered speeds, and backups. Only possible improvement is a listening log with podcast and date heard. For everything else I have wanted it turns out the setting to do so is already built in. Responsive support too.

  4. Bob Roach-avatar

Great choice for podcast-philes. Love the extensive features/options list. Have not had any problems so far. Suggestion? Work on making the categorization of podcasts a lot easier and intuitive. For instance, from the main list of podcasts, maybe have a selection switch so that you could check all the casts you want to add the same category and then have 'Assign Category' as an edit icon dropdown choice. The current 'Customization' is a pain. Focus on optimizing UI to be more streamlined.

  5. Eric Hollman-avatar

I try to play an episode, and nothing happens. I try to play it again, and it reads "Error 400, the request can't be resolved due to bad syntax." Then, "Try downloading the episode to resolve the issue." I don't want to download everything I want to listen to, I want to stream it. Please fix the issue, and I'll he happy to raise my review. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S9, SM-G960U.

  6. Craig Jenkins-avatar

Very average app. The playlist function is useless and nonsensical. Volume ranges so much across the different podcasts and doesn't seem to be a way to normalise it. The search function let's you search podcast names but not within the description. All just basic stuff that isn't included. I thought it would be better if I got the paid version but it isn't.

  7. Ronando-avatar

My last podcast player was Pocket Casts. I loved. It displayed what I wanted in the order I wanted and it played what I wanted in the order I wanted. Very easy UI. Not Podcast addict. I load a number of podcasts and start to listen to Imaginary Worlds. You would think the player would go to the next episode. It doesn't it jeeps wanting to play This American Life or even the most recent episode, not the next one in the series. And I don't want to have to dig through the settings to find a fix.

  8. Josef H.-avatar

No synchronization across devices and the Google Drive backup is useless as you can't restore the settings/subscriptions from there directly. EDIT: I must be missing something, can you please tell me and everyone else here who doesn't know where that single click is? Where do I 'single-click' to restore the data?

  9. Christopher Lowder-avatar

    Christopher Lowder

While there are many apps to listen to podcasts, this is the only one out of them that I've tried that had a bookmark system! I listen before bed and that one piece makes it so much easier to pick back up where I stopped.

  10. TryingToBeHelpful-avatar

I had tried some other apps, but Podcast Addict is the only one that fits my needs and actually works correctly. Thank you for offering many detailed options. I'm very grateful and hope that the existing functionality continues into the future. Note8. Great to also hear you interviewed on a favorite podcast of mine.

  11. Paul Thompson-avatar

Every time you think of something this app needs, you find out it's already there somewhere among the multitude of settings. It can be complicated because it can do almost anything. Essential for me now. The only thing it needs now is individual sorting for different podcasts.

  12. Christopher Hobbs-avatar

    Christopher Hobbs

So far the best I've tried, a few UI issues are my only problem. Multiple times I've tried to pause only to have it move my spot in the podcast to the middle I just wish there would be more space between the play buttons and the playback position. An idea I would like would be to make the playback position go across the picture of the podcast making simpler as well to scrub through with just a thumb. Just an idea.

  13. rion 3-avatar

Hi. Just want to explain that I sent you an email with those feed URLs as you instructed, but Outlook keeps notifying me I was sending a spam mail (don't know why it says that). Unsure if you ever received it for I tried to send another mail without those URLs, the mail is stuck in the outbox. Anyway, I tried to open in browser and as you assume, it doesn't work, either. So, I guess this is the problem you mentioned. But the strange thing is Spotify and Pocket Cast still work fine.

  14. Matthew Bacher-avatar

I can't say why I don't like the interface because I am not a designer. I question some of the elements of design within the app. I feel like I am somewhat overwhelmed by everything that's happening within the interface where other apps seem more intuitive. I have reevaluated my previous review of 1 star after the producer reached out to me. I am now giving it 3 stars. It's a fine app, I don't find it particularly interesting but maybe it wasn't designed for me. I don't think I could recommend it to anyone as there are so many which truly present an ease and intuitive interface. That being said, I do appreciate the time and effort that it takes to create these things. Maybe it just wasn't for me. This may be a good spot for some introspection. Hopefully you enjoy it.

  15. covert Covert-avatar

Not sure if it's a bugs or just bad design but overall the app is difficult to us. Also doesn't skip back we'll when streaming, doesn't download new podcast even with all settings set to download new podcast. Just to name a few, I've given it a good chance (2 months) but I need to move on to something else. I used to use beyond pod but it has a Bluetooth bug so I need a new player, this won't be it.

  16. Geraldene Corder-avatar

    Geraldene Corder

Worked seamlessly so far .... but I haven't gone into settings yet .... looks a bit complicated but I'm #notamillennial and it works for what I want to listen to! Is there anywhere where I can find what the different icons mean or do .... not serious cos I am loving listening to the one podcast I am using thru Podcast. :)

  17. Ian Jones-avatar

Headache inducingly unintuitive layout. Spent ages trying to find the most simple functions, such as 'exit' and to allow it to stream by mobile data. An endless array of pointless options, in seemingly random order but lacking the most basic functions such as play from episode one. Terrible app, an unwieldy mess. Trying to find something like Smart Audio Player but for podcasts and sadly this isn't it. Crazy that simply closing the app is made so difficult! Edit: developer is incorrect below

  18. Ryan-avatar

By far the best podcast app and have had it with me over 3 phones. The back up and transfer process is so simple and it's fantastic to see all the stats from my time watching. Definitely buy the ad free version, it's 100% worth every penny

  19. Mark Moen-avatar

Great app for listening to podcasts. But the main reason I'm reviewing is because Podcast Addict diagnosed an issue with my phone repeatedly crashing. A message popped up, I followed the directions, and my phone hasn't crashed since. Thanks!

  20. Nicholas Bartlett-avatar

    Nicholas Bartlett

My go to Podcast app. I've tried just about everything else, but PA has always been the easiest to use with the most features, and an amazing developer who's constantly sending out updates and fixes. Try it for a week and see what I mean.

  21. Addison Raap-avatar

feature-rich, almost to a fault. I find myself wanting to customize certain things and appreciating that I can but their menus are not intuitive and they need to focus on what the customers are most interested in customizing. this is still my preferred Android podcast app. my number one quick fix to the developers would be to consider removing the confirmation pop-up after actions such as marking a playlist as played. great that we can have so much control in the app but do it with fewer clicks!

  22. Kenneth Love-avatar

So far, so good. I'm new to podcasts, so I don't have any basis for comparison but this app works as I want it to. I can easily search for titles, it notifies me when a new episode shows up. I'm very happy with it up to this point.

  23. Wesley Johnson-avatar

Its a very good app, it even has itunes podcasts and easy downloading for offline listening. My only complaint is that at times it can be a little fidgetty when updating certain podcasts but that is rare and it is all in all a great app.

  24. Eleanor H-avatar

Great app - does exactly what I need without the weird bugs of other podcast apps. I was originally using as a backup for my main podcast app, but actually this is more reliable, so I've switched permanently to this one.

  25. Richard Sagastume-avatar

    Richard Sagastume

The App works very well, with no issues. I have been using it for many years now. Lots of options and features. I recommend it to anyone who asks me about podcast apps.

  26. Wendy Capron-avatar

I started getting the message - "Download failure. It looks like the selected Storage location might be in an unauthorized SDCard folder. Make sure to follow the FAQs instructions." I haven't intentionally changed anything recently.

  27. Borah Gear-avatar

Been using PA for close to 2 years now, with 55 days of listening time. It has never let me down, and is constantly updated and kept bug free. A great app, I'd highly recommend it

  28. Andrew Donaldson-avatar

    Andrew Donaldson

Very disappointing that despite having paid to remove ads the latest update has introduced a new one. Edit: At least the developer acknowledges in his response that he has added a new advert and that paying now only removes half of the adverts from the app

  29. KnightKilo-avatar

Been using this app for around 5 years. Very functional with lots of options for playing podcasts. Give it a try if other podcast apps don't give you the control you want. Also still keeps getting updates.

  30. Matthew Ronne-avatar

I listen to podcasts all day. This is all I want from a podcast app. You can find any mainstream podcast in the search or add an RSS address manually. Nothing clunky, no overdone features: just find and play podcasts.

  31. C J-avatar

If there was thing I would change it would be to open on the recent episodes page and refresh on launch but apart from that this is by far the easiest podcast app I have found to use.

  32. Keith R-avatar

It skips forward and backward at least one every episode now. Seems to be getting worse. I like the interface and everything else but the skipping is very annoying.

  33. Jean Claude Discaya-avatar

    Jean Claude Discaya

I use this to listen to Dan Carlin's Hardcore History episodes 1-50. I love that you can add audio files from your phone and that this has buttons that allow you to seek through audio in custom-set time intervals.

  34. Tim Hager-avatar

Have trouble getting downloads to work. Says there is an unathorized wifi connection. Hmmm, it is my home wifi I use all the time. At other times there are dozens of downloads ready. Very inconsistent.

  35. Elice Larsson-avatar

I've tried many podcast apps but this one has the most functions and is the only one in which I can organize my podcasts exactly the way I want to. If you value customizability over looks this is the app.

  36. Joyce Pierce-avatar

I've struggled to find a podcast app that carries all the different podcast I listen to. I've found them all I this one! Smooth listening, no interruptions in streaming! I'm very pleased!

  37. Serban Gavrus-avatar

I suggest everyone to get this app if you want a to learn the importance of UX and how frustrating and mind boggling bad UX can be. Otherwise, it's a decent podcast app.

  38. David Bradley-avatar

Great, clean app. I've tried a few and this is the best, been using it for about two years now. Lots of options, and the developer offers amazing user support.

  39. Beth Booton-avatar

Easy to use, lots of podcast choice, looks good, free, but stops playing every now and again even with queuing podcasts so unsure why - had similar issues with castbox and podbean as adverts kept breaking them.

  40. Nicole Burns-avatar

Easy to use has good features with the download of episodes to cast without using data, only reason I didn't give a 5 star is there doesn't seem to be many radio stations to choose from otherwise great App

  41. Patrick Gorman-avatar

This app is awesome. I began looking for a new one when my old one bogged down my phone. This one is so simple and easy to use and causes no issues with my phone. It's perfect

  42. Tirtha Roy-avatar

This has become my go to podcast app on my Android phones. There is a bit of a learning curve since the app is pretty customizable, but the small investment is worth it.

  43. Murray Proctor-avatar

This seems to be the best player around and sensibly priced. But it will show up but will not play through Android Auto on my car. (Other podcast apps will).

  44. Louis Schellenberg-avatar

    Louis Schellenberg

I've listened to ~100 days of podcasts over the last 3 years. Of the plethora of podcast apps I've tried, this is the best one since PocketCasts went downhill.

  45. Kevin Turley-avatar

Awesome app. I can't stress how much I enjoy the adjustability of playback speeds and how the app will remember different speeds for different podcasts. Never change!

  46. Chantelle Nunez-avatar

    Chantelle Nunez

It's helpful, but would be great if I could just select to view the podcasts I'm keen on listening to rather than seeing ALL of the podcasts by the author.

  47. Graham Goater-avatar

Good and highly recommended Podcast app. My experience is that it's an easy an intuitive app to use and has certainly allowed me to easily find and listen to the podcasts I'm interested in.

  48. Jeff Cuscuna-avatar

All your podcasts and internet radio in one place! Had it for a few weeks and it seems solid. Ads are not obtrusive. Try it!

  49. Josh Egbert-avatar

Gives you control over how you want it to work; listen speed, order of playback... A lot of options but easy to use.

  50. Theo Bacon-avatar

By far the best app for listening to multiple podcasts in the exact order you want to. Incredibly versatile once you get used to using it.

  51. Oliver D-avatar

Good app but uses up you battery like crazy. Also it would be very good to be able to save playlists so you don't have to keep creating them.

  52. rose mcward-avatar

I like the number of podcasts available, however, I am not a fan of episodes randomly stopping every 10 minutes or the app itself just closing altogether.

  53. David Villalva-avatar

Really enjoy this app because I can have all my favorite podcasts in one place not worrying if I miss out on one. It also notifies me when new episodes are up!

  54. JayTheStranger-avatar

Has every podcast I've wanted to listen to. Easy to set up. Has a player, makes it easy while driving. What more could you really ask for?

  55. Simon Thomas-avatar

Very good app. Only thing it needs is to be able to cast virtual podcasts. Not sure what prevents this feature being present.

  56. Caden G-avatar

Coming from Google Podcasts. This app is very feature rich with great search functionality, offline playing, very minimum ad banner, and a plethora of options and customizability

  57. Brian Malloy-avatar

My experience with podcast addict has been terrific ☺️! Everything works great 👍👍. My only concern is that once I finish listening to a podcast it stays on my phone.

  58. Arun Vignesh-avatar

Unable to play or download, even though i have before. Once i reinstalled, nothing is playing or downloading even though the network speed is high.

  59. Aviv Karni-avatar

The podcatcher for people who find The Other App too limiting. I manage over a hundred podcasts with Podcast Addict and it's perfect for letting me manage my podcasts the right way. Constant support is great and constant!

  60. David Roberts-avatar

This is the one! It delivers the perfect podcast experience for me and has performed as expected and it gets better all the time. Great work.

  61. Rajith Fernando-avatar

    Rajith Fernando

Awesome! I'm extremely pleased with this app. The content is great. Along with ratings and descriptions, customisable options and user friendly settings. I have a feeling that this app drains a lot of battery, but not going to give a bad rating for that. I'm very pleased with the content and would like to congratulate the people behind this. Do look into the battery issue maybe. Good luck!

  62. Mary Beaudin-avatar

This app is just average. I have not figured out how to delete casts that I don't want. When I hit delete, it says no. I will look for a better app.

  63. Elias Arce-avatar

I've used the app for about 4 years now paid the premium and haven't regretted it a single bit. It's a great app and I love it's widget version. Recommend 100%

  64. boogyfat mccoy-avatar

I have only been using this app for a month. There is a learning curve, which I think to be normal . I have not used any other apps to compare this one to, since I am new to listening to podcasts. Both the Peter Schiff and McAlvany's weekly podcasts come in loud and clear. The best part is I can shut the screen off and it keeps playing.

  65. Raina Emms-avatar

Very nice design and works very well. Some minor issues with designating items as played but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

  66. Maple Leaf-avatar

Welcome back. My idealistic self would like to believe Google heard a lot of voices when your app was banned. I've tried many podcast players on Android and PC and this one is up there with the best. Your ability to choose which SD card your music is stored on, is an example of a feature this podcast organizer has that other music programs do not.

  67. Tom McMurrain-avatar

I've used Podcast Addict every night for over two years. Just for the heck of it I decided to check online to see if there was anything newer or better. Short answer, NO. It gets so many "5" stars reviews i just stopped reading them. Looks like I made the right choice even though I was a podcast newbie at the time.

  68. Carolyn Covell-avatar

Havent had an issue i like that you can click the stars on the ones you have listened to. I like it a lot!

  69. BC F-avatar

Really like this app, but I keep having to unsubscribe and subscribe again as the most recent episodes keep randomly disappearing. Please fix.

  70. Andrew Palla-avatar

I first found Podcast Addict when I was looking for an Android equivalent to Apple's podcast app. It takes a little while to get used to but its quite intuitive and I feel just as comfortable on it now as I did Apple's podcast app. I'm considering springing for premium but the exchange rate is crazy at the moment and it's just more than I'm willing to spend to get rid of a few ads.

  71. Wendy Cathcart-avatar

I had never listened to podcasts before gyms closed down due to COVID19. So when I started walking on country roads, I purchased a set of bluetooth earbuds and decided to see what exactly podcasts were. Podcast Addict makes it so easy to find, download, and listen to podcasts of interest. So much so that I am, well...addicted!!

  72. Kyle B-avatar

I like this app because so far it's the only one I've found that has all my favorites. But on the downside, it crashes nearly every time I use it.

  73. Kelvin Soh-avatar

Been using this app for years and it has served me pretty well. Everything is nicely organised, user friendly and works as intended.

  74. Simon Collins-avatar

Stable, nicely designed with some good features. Missing a few things that would take it into 5 star range but not by much

  75. Alexis Cogdell-avatar

Great app for organizing your podcasts. I am still getting the hang of it but it has worked out really well for my listening.

  76. Denzel Sain-avatar

Great user interface and great app overall. Have used it for years for podcasts and highly recommend.

  77. Bridie Ruby-avatar

I've been using this for a long time. It may not be the most elegant but it's still the most functional and customisable podcast app out. The vast playback and list options alone put this app ahead of all the others. Anything you find frustrating about your current podcast app can be almost certainly be customised away with this one. I'm yet to find anything I want that it doesn't have, be it a podcast or a setting. It's a staple.

  78. Chris Libera-avatar

Very good, but some features unavailable for Android 10 unfortunately, but works very well overall. Thank u good people, I love it.

  79. K M-avatar

Good little app for podcasts, particularly importing RSS feeds from Patreon. The UI could be more straightforward, but no complaints overall.

  80. Booming99-avatar

Amazing app with a ton of podcasts. Very easy to find what your looking for. All around good app.

  81. Sam Zauber-avatar

This app has a lot of capability, but the UI is rather clunky. I find it many of the icons and locations of settings unintuitive.

  82. Daniel-avatar

Great app and the dev managed to help me. I do wish there was a button to return settings to default but that's just a personal opinion while I was trying to tweak settings to my preference and making mistakes and trying to remember what I changed, thus I won't let that effect my opinion of the app as a whole. I do recommend this app for sure

  83. Scott Tilton-avatar

I am able to find most podcasts I search for. However, when I do find them, I go to listen to them and the app just stops running sporadically throughout. Sometimes it's two or three minutes into a podcast sometimes it's a half an hour into a podcast. It continuously cuts out. Please fix this problem. I've done all the recent updates, so I know that's not it.

  84. John Clayton-avatar

Brilliant selection of podcasts. Not easy to share subscriptions across devices or rate podcasts. Super interface and ads don't spoil the app.

  85. Gregor Macdonald-avatar

    Gregor Macdonald

Lacks features that allow you to mark your spot or to rewind. Was really surprised there's no rewind.

  86. Nikita Cross-avatar

Quite powerful and high function, much easier to find and maintain podcasts with download, sorting, and playlist features.

  87. Andy Smith-avatar

There are over 300 Tiny Desk Concerts on the NPR Podcast. A search feature for pod cast libraries would be useful. I'll need to find a different podcast app.

  88. Lois Laughlin-avatar

Finding a spot you want to listen to again is not easy. Nor replaying what was just said.

  89. Michael Harber-avatar

I researched reviews on the best podcast apps available and this one graded out very highly...and it it lives up to it's high ranking. I've tried others in the past but this one earns top billing for me. It has a fantastic GUI, easy-to-use functionality, a wealth of customizable options, and terrific audio quality...A+ guys. Keep up the great work. 👍👏😁

I kept trying and kept trying to like this app. Ive used it on three different phones. The only reason I'm posting this is because I want the app to get fixed. It crashes constantly and stops/starts playing constantly. If you are one of whomever is working on this app, if at all, reach out to me and I'll give you all the feedback I have. Until then, I'm done with it. Merry Christmas.

Works great. took me a few minutes playing around with the menus to get past the learning curve, but that only cuz it's got so many features and options. It's got everything I could want, and I wouldn't want to remove anything for the sake of simplifying the UI or lessening the learning curve. Cheers

The best one overall so far! Still, a couple of things aren't perfect: 1. Podcast search. I tried searching for podcasts to subscribe, and I was able eventually to get them, but along the way the app also adds a bogus podcast with #MySearchPhrase 2. Navigation isn't (at least yet for me) perfectly intuitive. E.g. a list of all new podcasts isn't very easy to find. Jumping between several unfinished podcasts is a bit difficult too.

Probably the best podcast app in my experience. Very easy to follow, sort and download podcasts in a tidy way.

Great app, but it accumulates a lot of disk space over time even if you don't download anything.

The app is easy to navigate. All my favorite podcasts are available on this app. The app even presents other similar podcasts to enjoy. The play quality is great, no issues. The ads are present but not obnoxious. Also, I can drive in my car without the app 'mysteriously' playing my last listen; when I exit the app, the app is truly closed... it doesn't pick up play just because my phone connects to my car's bluetooth. I strongly recommend Podcast Addict.

Love it... get all my podcasts from here and just to chill out to listen to them without it being connected to the internet

Love it, use it everyday to listen to podcasts around the house. Download it, you won't regret it.

I've tried every podcast app and Podcast Addict is superior in every way! Easy to use and the options are endless.

The best Podcast app I have found. Feature rich, stable and with a responsive developer. Highly recommended.

third phone in a row I've installed Podcast Addict, tried some other apps but this is the one I have settled on and I'm more than happy with the layout, options and features, good sleep timer with an option to automatically start the sleep timer everytime you play a podcast, great if you fall asleep to podcasts! just a well supported good all round app, ads at the bottom and don't interfere with the usage of the app at all. great stuff 👍😀
