receive data from Internet
Allows apps to accept cloud to device messages sent by the app's service. Using this service will incur data usage. Malicious apps could cause excess data usage.

Great app but there's one thing holding it back from getting five stars because I want to see you add a single device bandwitdh ussage for each device so you know how much bandwidth the device is using do that and you will receive 5 stars. And also add upload and download speed for each device ussage.

Impressive suite of network tools. I use the Watcher feature to make sure I'm notified if my servers go offline. Edit: was 5 stars, now 3 because Watcher stopped working on my phone (Pixel 3a) after the 8/7/2020 update of this app. The newly added validation options do not save and all of my services appear as offline. I've emailed support. Plz fix

Since I discovered this app last year, 2019, it has really being my favourite networking app. It makes working on networks so easy for me and I have been able to troubleshoot networks easily with this tool. Well designed user interface. Intuitive to use. Packed with useful tool that I want to use for my network diagnostics. Very well done. Lots of nice extra info in the speed test - packet loss calc etc. Suggestion box: would be nice to be able to set the time of the speed test and to see an historical chart of packet loss alongside speed, if that's possible.

Ping tool is a PowerFull app, its a must have while using vpn/game/downloading stuff. Pingtool Team, Will it be too much to ask for a addition of a data usage monitor utility? I don't want to have glasswire installed for usage monitor.

I have downloaded this app for only one rision, for getting good ping in free fire. Earlier my ping sometines gone to near 250. But when I play free fire after checking my ping in this app l, it really effect my experience.I see that now my ping is always 45 to 75. But it depends on your phone's processor also. I have Redme note 5 pro which has a good processor. I think that this app gets your ping better. So I would recommend you to yluse this app.

  28. Hélio Dias de Brito Teixeira-avatar

Outstanding! It does everything that it's advertised and even way more. Once you open the app there's your ip, your router and your public ip. Graphs are clear to read. Speed tests are performed automatically, and that will use your bandwidth. Beside that, great app.

  29. Alexander Ward-avatar

    Alexander Ward

This app seems great. Then I noticed it keeps trying to issue commands to the FTP server I have running. I selected "Local Network" not "Infiltrate My Network". Closed the app and it stopped immediately. What other protocols was it trying to gain access to I wonder?

Excellent handy tool to test out your network. Ping ensures i never have a duplicate ip and the ability to do tcp port scans on the fly are amazing. Moving my entire home from a 192 network to a 10 network and this is invaluable. Gives me better ip information about devices than my isp "router"

What possible reason is there to require location to be turned on to see the details of the wireless network you are connected to? Sounds like a way to steal keys and know the location of the wireless network to use those keys. Uninstalled.

  38. Veegish-avatar

EDIT: Thanks to the devs it seems like this issue has been fixed, so this app definitely deserves 5 stars! This app has proven to be useful on numerous occasions. However I recently got a notification about Android filesystem limit reached due to too many files being created. When I checked the app's storage usage it turns out that it's been consuming 1.2GB of storage space. I uninstalled it and the notification went away. I hope you fix this bug soon.

Used to be good but recent update caused problems. Phone's power optimiser kept reporting this app. It kept running even if put to sleep. It generated 1.8GB of data files. Battery life was halved. I think it caused a "Too many files created on this device" error. After uninstalling it my phone feels faster and battery life back to normal.

Used to love this app, it does a great job at its various primary functions. Unfortunately I have had to uninstall it. My phone had become unusable, internal storage was completely full. I deleted a bunch of apps, photos, data to no avail. Finally managed to work out that PingTools was the culprit; it was consuming 4.7Gb of storage by the time I deleted it. Something is seriously wrong with it, I would avoid installing it until the developer works out what they have messed up...

Alright. So it IS, (so far anyway), the best working Net tools (Ping, Traceroute, Internet speed Testing, etc.) app that I HAVE used to this point ... But for some reason, I still can't test what my Ping to a certain server is, from my VPN ... But for some reason, AM able to test the Traceroute Hops and Hop time to the very same server .... Why is that ? ? Bc it Will work (the Ping test, meaning), when Not using my VPN ... ?

Very helpful at first. Then noticed this app always popping up near the top of my battery usage list. Consistently using 10% of battery usage every charge but i very rarely even use the app so i don't know why it needs so much power even if it's not supposed to be open. sorry but it has to go, uninstalled.

  45. Forest Johnson-avatar

    Forest Johnson

Just started using this app, I actually like it. I can really see this app growing into something awesome provided the programmers stay on top of it. One thing I would like to see is the ability to maybe change the colors to something a little less bright more on the subdued or darker side. I'm going to mess with this non-pro version a little bit, become more familiar with the app. But as of right now, I really like what I've seen and I am extremely tempted in buying the pro version.

Great toolset in one app in the palm of your hand to use for troubleshooting network problems. The ping eirks as it should, the traceroute works as it should as well, the watcher has been useful for proving an "un-repeatable" constant internet service connection drop on home dsl, along with a wealth of other useful network tools.

Using this app made my android consistantly generates notification: "Too many files have been created on your phone. Apps may stop working correctly and your phone may no longer start up. Back up any important data and factory reset your phone." As I check in the application list it consumes more than 1GB storage space.

  50. Otter-avatar

On the same boat as a few of the other 1 star reviewers. The app used to run great, until it started to hog storage. I was actually unable to see how much it consumed because my phone would softlock every time I tried to go into the storage options. I saw the suggestion on a forum and after giving it the boot the "Too many files were created" message magically disappeared and my phone stopped lagging and hanging.

Mentioned by others as well but this app creates a million tiny files that chew up disk space but also prevents your phone from creating any new files eventually. It will throw some error that will lead you to Google and you will find reports of this app doing it. Had to uninstall. The app itself is great but this issue is a killer.

This app is such a great tool for an IT professional. It helps me figure out the default gateway of a given network so easily, among other common network settings and info. Awesome tool for anyone managing multiple networks. I use the watcher feature as a quick alert mechanism to inform me when links are down. As long as the devices has a public facing IP address this software will find it. Nice really nice!! I'll do a few more tests and move to paid to remove the add!

If it wasn't for the pop-up ads I would have rated it at 5 I'm good with the in-line ads but not with the pop ups but I have installed every single one of these programs in the Android store and there's probably has to be the one with all the tools you actually need in one app but it's also worth paying for

Very nice app. Worked excellent for a while, but now suddenly used up over 6 Gb of my internal memory. Might have grown even larger if my memory wasn't at 100% now. I had to uninstall it (which took a loooong time, but in the process I saw my memory gradually being released again)

I had to uninstall it due to enormous usage of storage. when i downloaded this, it only used 40mb of storage but after a period of time not using it, it was using 5Gb of storage wich i had no idea what it was for maybe it was logging someting idk. In one hand it gives usefull information but in other hand unreasonable storage usage.

Just what I needed, and even more. Nice watcher (what I use most) features would be: * When sending http requests, check the http status code on response. * pause a node or service with a single click * override node level configuration (triggers, conditions, actions) on service level * time triggers depending on last status * start in watcher Modus by default or create a shortcut on home screen to do so

Was using 2,5 Gb of my internal memory, this became full, and other programs, like my phone itself, refuses to work properly. After a reinstal (version 4.27. free) to give it the benifit of the doubt this program has still a VERY BIG HUNGER for my storage if not controlled it will consume all my storage space. The only wise thing for me to do is to DELETE this program!!!!!!!!!! This time it is also taking ages to get de-installed the occupied 2Gb. Update on 27 March 2019; Curious as I am I installed it again on my mobile (Moto G4, Android 7.0). Forgot about it, hardy used it, today it a lot of warnings in respect of no more internal memory available. Deleted PingTools again, waited forever again to get it removed, this time freed over 4GB !!!!!! For me this program is more cumbersome than useful! My advise to other please check from time to time the DATAHUNGER of this program.

While I think some screens could use a quick tutorial to demonstrate the UX of the particular tool being used, overall I've found it to be a great set of tools for basic network troubleshooting.

Really good suite of tools. The watcher function is great for keeping an eye on a LAN connection. Loads of other functionality for a mobile network tool.

This app seems very good, nice interface and usefull features. But after a few weeks installed, it sloowed down my phone, caused it to crash, created massiv files and grow over 3GB size. Not suitable for use.

Ping Tools constantly loads itself in the background, wasting massive amounts of battery and slowing the device to half. I think the developer has stopped supporting this project.
