I have had this app since 30th December 2018, and there has been so much hard work put into it that I am still finding my way around it. I have reviewed the app before, but I've gone on and on using it and I still can't do it justice. Thank you, app developer 😄

Really awesome app. I am lucky that I bought it when it was only $3.99. What is the difference between C9 and C97? I've never seen "97" notation, and the chords are exactly the same. Is this a duplicate that needs to be removed or is it to list multiple possible namings/symbols for the same chord? Same with Cm9:Cm97,C11:C117,Cm11:Cm117, etc. Also, shouldn't the 7 be listed before b9, for example C7b9 instead of Cb97. Usually alterations are listed after the 7,9,11,or 13. Let me know :)

Please, please fix the audio issues. I love this so much that even though I can't hear it right now, I still gave 4 stars. I think it might have to do with my various Bluetooth headphones. It hasn't made any audio for two days now. It usually comes back by now. It's NOT the headphones or speaker... Because the cursor doesn't move... I hit PLAY and the button changes to PAUSE button, but cursor doesn't move so it's NOT playing. There's no audio because it won't actually play anymore. HELP! FIX IT! I BOUGHT THE PRO PACKAGE, NOW FIX IT. Update: Okay, apparently I put a check mark in something in the SETTINGS that made it not play. Why would you out something that would do that in the settings? New thing I want you to fix... When I delete ONE row... It jumps all the way to the beginning... So, if I have multiple rows to delete... I have to figure out where I was... again and again. VERY, VERY ANNOYING. Fix that part, please. Number the rows or if you could give me an option to put a flag to note different sections. Also, make it so you could choose multiple rows to move them, copy/paste or delete them. I need an UNDO button... That would be very helpful, too. I will give you more money to fix these things because this app is excellent, fix these things. Another update: It still freezes up. I have to close it, reopen it and figure out where I was until it does it again. It usually does it when I'm in the middle of the song and I stop it to change something.

Great for making chord progressions and whatnot, but it still crashed on me on my first use, and this one has audio issues. I guess I'll just stick to the other version of Piano Companion I paid my subscription fee for. Both versions crash and this one has weird audio issues where the notes become very loud and distorted. (By the way, why are there two nearly identical versions in the first place?)

I have liked this app a lot but lately it does not show the degrees of the scale as before in the chord dictionary. Example Major = 1 3 5. That section is just gone. Hope it comes back!! They have made this change and others that pretty much make this app perfect. When it shows the notes in a chord you can tap a note and it will toggle between intervals and number value (1, b3 etc). I am jazz player and use this app a lot to double check my chords and to try different modes in the scales section. For music theory this thing is better than many books and always there for a quick lookup. The only thing I might add is an Interval section where you could select a note and then ask it to find the note up or down a desired interval. Anyway kudos to the developer of this.

Very user friendly interface. Obviously has your circle of forths/fifths and it has a chords dictionary. The part I like the most about this app is that it has pretty much all the scales(dozens of them) layed out in a practical and theoretical manner, not only does it end there, it goes even further and shows you the chords(common, secondary dominant, leading tone) that naturally occure in each and every scale(to the 7th degree) it has. Rarely if never, do I practice piano🎹 without opening this app, it just that good, helps me a lot when I'm analysing music theory concepts. Worth every cent!!!

As a music major, this app is not useful for me. It doesn't help with things like mode mixture, or figuring out what are some common chords. I found it to be not very user friendly and it didn't really cooperate with what I was trying to do. It also didn't work like advertised. Overall I guess it could be useful for someone who is learning music for guitar, piano, and types of jazz.

However on Android Nougat I am having a whole list of issues such as random crashes, the application hanging and even at times there is a definitive corruption I.e. distortion of the sound when play is engaged. Frequently crashes on the cord progression builder when trying to select an inversion while playing the progression. Will review this as updates are released. Make it great dev.

Like the tritone subsitution, tonic subs, etc. Make sure that each sub can be found for each chord in the scale/key as well. IT WOULD MAKE THIS THE ULTIMATE APP, PLEASE PLEASE DO IT. And make a color coded chart that shows keys that are more or less share the same chords; it'd help everyone with almost instant key modulations. Finally please add more built in chord progressions, add a seperate part for chord progressions that use borrowed chords as well and from which parrell key its borrowed from.

Great for aiding with music practise. Very useful and easily navigated application. If I could suggest some useful improvements: Scales dictionary (show only popular scales) could perhaps be expanded. For example narrowing to popularly used Jazz, or Blues scales. The suggestion is because the popular scales are too narrow for these genres and all scales are too wide. Please consider a common scales for chord type improv option. Again, great app

I love all the tools, and generally I am very happy for my purchase. The new version is awesome, although the chord progression tool could use two features. 1. The ability to listen to individual chords while tapping on them without having to play the whole progression. 2. The ability to choose from chords I. II. III. IV. etc. as well, not just picking any chord of any root which is the only option currently. Currently we can only do this in the beginning of a progression and not swapping chords afterwards.
