Want to wake up more relaxed, in a better mood? I suggest you try this Alarm Clock.

"Personal Sunrise" is a dawn simulator for Android devices. It helps to wake up more easily in the morning, as your body prepares for wakeup due to the increasing light of the display. No more waking up from deep slep phases.

You can try the app for longer than 2 hours - I will re-fund you without hesitation if you it does not fulfill your needs. You need to have several days to find out. If it does not satisfy you, please drop me a note with your order ID and - may I kindly ask - the reason so that I have a chance to improve the app.

Enhanced features include support of:

the Hue Personal Lighting System from Philips

the FHEM home automation (allows commanding the coffee machine, roller blinds, ...)

Wikipedia says "Dawn simulation is a technique originally developed to help treat seasonal affective disorder, but can be used as a soundless alarm clock to wake up the body naturally. Typically, the treatment involves timing lights in the bedroom to come on gradually, over a period of 30 minutes to 2 hours, before awakening.". WakeLight offers you several configuration options for the light simulation (sequence length, brightness curve, min/max brightness) and the sound (alarm sound, snooze timing and sound) in combination with the comfort of periodic alarm templates (with single-alarm removal), and of course single-alarm times. See the pictures. This app is very handy when you're travelling: take your dawn simulation with you!

It was intended to be used with tablets of at least 7 inches, but I have enough positive feedback of users with even smaller devices to be able to state it can be good to try with such a small device (especially, of course, if you want to use Hue lights). It depends on your light sensitivity, of course, and the brightness of your environment - but you will be astonished as it works subconscious. Just try, I think you will not regret it.

Anyway, using HUE or FHEM the size of the device does not matter any more at all! These systems will handle the simulation.

Don't really think I want to give access to my photos etc. An alarm clock doesn't need to be this complicated. EDIT: thanks for the reply. You have a strange idea of what is absolutely necessary. If you ever release a version which doesn't hit me with jargon from the start or want to snoop in my calendar, it might be for me. Good luck. 2nd EDIT: thanks! I don't think I need the features, I just want it to do one thing really well: fewer problems that way. How about a cheaper 'lite' version?

Amazing! Dawn/dusk simulation will change your life, this app is a great option. Some complaints but good response from developer and already great. A few tips: try setting the dusk simulator to the red theme, I much prefer it to the default; you might want to create a blank white screen with a picture editor and set this as the alarm background to make it wake you better; if you run music or meditation in the background, you can restart it via the notification if the dusk simulator stops it.

The app is very nice and seems reliable. A couple of nice to have that I hope they can add over time: 1. In a very dark room, the alarm clock light is still a little on the bright side 2. Sometimes the nighttime alarm clock font size causes some of the display to extend beyond the visible window of my Pixel 4 3. The template alarms cause a long list of future individual alarms to appear in the display. This becomes cluttered

Once you get over the set up phase this app is perfect for those who don't like being woken up by a loud ring. The gradual increase in screen light is perfect and I frequently wake up before I can hear my relaxing music. Great App. Thanks

A better way to wake up! I've been using the app for a couple weeks now & i'm so glad i found it. Instead of being jolted awake by a blaring alarm, i'm awaken by soft light. I find i'm less resentful about having to get up & don't feel like i'm starting the day in panic mode. Thank you for a great app. I highly recommend.

Great app to integrate bedside clock (which allows very low brightness levels), sound alarm and simulated sunrise. Integrates well with Hue and is highly customisable to create a gradual calm waking experience. Very responsive developer who released an update to address a minor issue I had within a couple of days.

Might be an issue specific to my hue setup but the lights flash on bright white before dimming which wakes you up immediately rather than gently. Everything else seems to be ok but the Hue Sunrise was my reason downloading. Christian is there any chnace i can take you up on the refund?
