precise location (GPS and network-based)
Allows the app to get your precise location using the Global Positioning System (GPS) or network location sources such as cell towers and Wi-Fi. I have found the pacer app to be very easy to use and convenient. The step tracking is probably 80% accurate. There are times when slight movements can be misinterpreted as taking steps, but for the most part this tracks very well. What I like to see as a feature is when you can look at the trends of how you're walking over a 7-day through 12-month period. It's always interesting to see how much you've done over that period of time. A good app, very enjoyable and I would definitely recommend it.

  2. JENNY PRICE-avatar

Started off great, but lately has glitches. I love how it keeps track of steps, calories, keeps daily logs so you can see what your exercise trends are each day. I also really like you can pause the counting of steps so it doesn't drain the battery. But lately the app won't open or if it does it doesn't stay up long & disappears off screen again. It does keep track of steps if I can keep app open long enough to unpause my steps. Just Uninstalled app, going to reinstall in hopes that works

I like the Pacer App for keeping track of my walks. It keeps track of my number of steps, routes with GPS, and I can save my routes with info on length for future walks. I also like the support of others on the App. There are many people using this App to maintain health, lose weight, and eat healthy, and many share comments to encourage and support one another. I would recommend this App to anyone! It sure has helped me!

  4. MotoT Rides-avatar

    MotoT Rides

App seems okay, I have an android version and my partner an ios. I seem to be missing features such as seeing published posts on people's account and viewing routes via the map, I can only drop a pin and it's filter isn't accurate, producing the same walks over and over. Shame because if it worked like the ios version I've seen it would be 5 stars.

  5. Wolfgang Rünzi-avatar

I love the way it keeps track of weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual totals. My favorite feature is its GPS tracking of my hikes and bike rides, esp the way it tracks each mile's details. The measurements for ascents (and descents), however, are clearly inaccurate as it tends to suggest that I climbed 3.5 times as many feet than I actually did. (Used an analog altimeter to compare on five different occasions.) I highly recommend this app.

Worked beautifully counting steps as well as time and distance with the GPS function. Then after three or four days it crashed. So I uninstalled and installed again. Worked beautifully as before for three or four days and then would not count the distance on the GPS function. Way too much hassle to keep reinstalling. I'll find something else.

For me, it's all about accuracy. Being over 6'3" tall, apps that I have used in the past had difficulty in getting my step count right. I'm bipolar and have counted my steps for many years. 55 steps down the hallway. 474 steps out to the parking garage, etc. Pacer is right on the mark. And the interface is a no brainer. Thanks for making such a great tool.

I've used this app for a few days. observations. Uses a lot of battery in my phone. I'd like to be able to turn it off when I don't need it. it sits on my desk most of the day. I'm really only using it for long walks. The elevation tracking is WAY off. there is NO way I had a gain of 2233m (2.23km) in yesterdays walk. ( 500m the day before). When creating a route, rather than just triming the start and end, I would like to be able to move the start/end circular along the route. IE I walk a loop starting and ending at my house. but if Im publishing, I would like to slide that to the park, so no one knows where I live..

  9. Sue Crowe-avatar

Started off very well, but yesterday when I tried to open the app it closed straight away. And still does. I have emailed Customer Support and they told me that there was a bug in Google maps which is causing the problem and they are working on it. I decided to uninstall the app and then reinstalled it. It works now, so 5 stars. 😀

  10. Katie Trubinski-avatar

    Katie Trubinski

I used to love this app when I got it a few years ago then recently it frozen on me and wouldn't close out. So I uninstalled and reinstalled... I lost ALL of my data. I could've sworn I had an account but apparently I didn't. So when I went to make an account today (connected to FB), it deleted my entire history for today and yesterday. Counted the steps without having an account and then when I do deletes it! Ugh it's so annoying.

  11. David Mooney-avatar

I gave this app a 5 star rating based on my first 2 days using it. The statistics were fairly accurate but subsequently I began noticing that the statistics were no longer accurate. For example the steps were entirely wrong. For 7 miles it was showing between 3000 and 4000 steps. I then downloaded another app and ran them side-by-side and compared data from Google Maps. Pacer miles, time, and steps were way off. I am giving it 2 stars only because the GPS mapping of a route is OK sometimes.

It is a very good app. It shows the true value or (u can say it shows all right information. Believe me and I wish that everyone should install and use the app no other app is not as good as pacer. In this app there are many activities like if u want to run you can select the activity to (Running, general)or any thing else also u can select. It's depended upon your choice and the true thing is that it is a very nice app.

  13. enichols82-avatar

I've been using this app for a few months now. I've liked it so far. But... today it decided it doesn't want to open.. i thought maybe it needed to be updated. Looked it up and yes it did. So i updated it and attempted to open it again. Still not opening. Restarted my phone, same. Powered it off and back on, same. What's the deal? Update. I uninstalled and reinstalled.. it works again but now ALL my records are gone. This is a huge disappointment.

Under GPS option, noticed that when you are walking on the open space like a groun or road, it is showing the parameters correctly like speed / km, Kms covered etc. But when you are walking inside a compound or on the lobby of your residence, there is absolutely no movement of speed /km. The data is very static. Why is it so, when you are walking in the same speed whether you are walking on the road or on the lobby

  15. VanCorvin McCoy-avatar

    VanCorvin McCoy

I have been using this app for years if you carry your cell phone in a strap when u exercise or run or walk it gives very good info and can be adjusted to suit your body, your stride and is very functional. It's a perfect app for me wish my smartwatch could connect to it then it would be that more better...Awesome app!! I highly recommend it

  16. Dave Kersey-avatar

    Dave Kersey

After downloading I loved it for just over a week. Then it crashed, wouldn't stay loaded ect. and I had to delete and re-install therefore lost all of my data for tracking. Liked it well enough to try it again but if it gives me grief this time, sianara,

Good app lots of strings and charts. But suddenly since yesterday having some problem opening the dash board. It suddenly shuts down whenever u open the application. I want to reinstall the app but don't know how to take backup. Nuckup data option should be and aaded feature which I think is missing. Otherwise pretty nice app.

  18. KOPIYO CHANNEL-avatar

I was consistently walk more than 10k steps a day particularly for this month but when i checked my rank in the steps challenge, it shows that I only able to complete 28/30 days of walking 10k steps and more. I actually completed all 30 days and the bars in trend section shows them all. Frustrating.

  19. Teresa Guglielmi-avatar

    Teresa Guglielmi

Good app for the most part. The main issue I've had with it is losing some steps that are taken in woodsy and more remote locations. I like that it can be linked to the myfitnesspal app, but it would be better if it synced automatically instead of requiring to user to manually sync.

  20. Paul Warthe-avatar

I have some concerns when you are asked for your email password during setup. Cannot seem to get past forced pay subscription to their programs. Gps on initial walk had me walking through houses and going blocks off the path I actually took. Can't wait to remove this!

  21. Sharon Romano-avatar

Just tried it out the last 7 days I must admit no matter what apps are open it stays there and keeps tracking. Very easy, does everything for you, start the minute you open it and it catches up if it was playing in the background. Fantastic

Today my app is playing up. As soon as I open it to start the GPS for my run it force stops itself and closes, I've checked for updates & have uninstalled and reinstalled but hasn't fixed the issue. Not sure why this is happening? It is usually a very good app

It won't be wrong if I say that my life has completely changed after I downloaded this app, and later purchased the full version. It's been two years now with pacer. Helped me keep my daily activities in check, helped me in remain active physically. I would like to see a bit development in the coach part. Otherwise. Fab app !!

  24. Mari2000-avatar

I enjoy being able to keep track of my steps. I can use it without internet connection so I dont hv to waste my phone internet, then when I am.back on wifi I update my progress. It really motivates me to do my 10k steps, 10km and try to beat my time record

Used many similar apps but I like pacer the most. Since recently can't open the app, it crashes 2 seconds upon trying to open it. I updated the app yesterday but that didn't help. I don't want to reinstall the app because I will lose all my data........... 🥵

Having the same issue as enichols82, app will run and track steps in the background but as soon as the app is opened it closes and goes back to the homescreen. Don't want to reinstall and lose all my data, hopefully this can be fixed with an update

The GPS doesn't record distances correctly. We walk the same course but the GPS records nearly double the actual distance. Part of the course is next to power lines and the GPS records a span of about 500 yards as a mile. I'm going to Uninstall the ap and try something else.

  28. Jennifer Pedersen-avatar

For the last two days, it keeps crashing when I open it. Had it tracking my exercise and I need it to stop as I've finished. Force closing the app, and it'll still pop up notifying me that it's tracking.

App closes when trying to open it. Worked fine for 20 days now it's a hit and miss kinda app. I'm thinking I need to find something more reliable. To bad because I liked using it now it's totally frustrating just to get it to stay open. Bummed

  30. Kevin McMillan-avatar

Worked fine for the first 2 days then yesterday I did the same route and time and it said I had walked 14.19 kms in 1 hour 35 mins should have been 7.35 so it seems like it have almost doubled, the route part works well fix the bug and it would be a good app

Works sometimes.....Doesn't always record steps but you don't know that until you check. For example yesterday I had recorded over 11000 steps on another app and Pacer said I took 20. I checked setting and they were all properly set.

For a free app this really is a great way to track your steps and the route you take every time you go out walking. The workouts they have for free are great as well as they help to make sure you are doing it properly.

I do enjoy using the app but I don't like that you have to open the App first before it starts couting your steps. If it can count one's steps automatically once you carry the phone with you, it would be great.

My company chose this app for a step challenge. Unfortunately, it only syncs with Apple watch and Fitbit. I am a Garmin user and I do not carry my phone with me 24 hours a day. Disappointing to say the least.

Unable to edit profile details from drop down menus and step count far too inaccurate. Gender works as it's an either or choice with radio button but height age weight etc does not have a confirmation option. Alsl 6000 steps counted today. Walked just over 4.5 miles. App estimated I walked 3.

I really like this free version. It's user-friendly and does what I need it to (counts steps and mileage, no bells and whistles). I haven't had any problems with it. I did customize the settings to my preferences (turned off notifications, set my own baseline step goal). I appreciate that it just runs quietly in the background, but I can pull down the notification bar anytime to see my progress.

Data erased when changing phones. This app was okay for tracking my steps, but I really liked it most for keeping track of my weight and seeing my progress on a graph. Disappointingly, when I changed phones, all of my data was wiped out. This has happened twice. I tried to sync the data via my Facebook login, but it synced with the new, blank slate app. Not cool!

Very good app, tested the steps with my wrist counter and over the course of 8 hours there was a difference of 23 steps between them both

The app worked for about a week, and now it just closes whenever I open it. Starts to launch, closes. Not usable.

Every 3-4 days the app stops counting steps. Then I need to click on not counting my steps to autostart. Please can these be resolved.

Constant network error messages, dropped me from the group I joined and won't let me search for challenges or groups. This app is garbage.

Used it one time this morning and it has been shutting down all day. So disappointed that I can't find a tracker that works.

The premium cost is very high for such application. That's too for a subscription modal. That's too when accuracy is questionable. We have nothing to validate the accuracy of the application. Knowing that the developers may fool it's users based on some algorithms. So I'm not convinced to pay such price for this type of app.

Sometimes the Pedometer does not record all steps when I compare with my default health app, but in general it's cool.

Lemme start by saying kudos to the Dev team 👍. Since I got this app my lifestyle entirely has changed. Love everything about this app. But as from yesterday evening the app keeps closing by itself whenever I want to access it. Any suggestion please cuz I don't know what to do.

It's a nice walking app, but frequently fails to count steps, unless you're moving vigorously.

I went for one 45 minute walk and after that that app stopped counting my steps. There is one link in the app to help with this issue. It takes you to the settings in your phone to optimize the app. It didn't work. What is the point of having the app if it doesn't count your steps? The there is no one to contact as far as I can tell. No support available at all.

For the second day now, when I open the app to check my steps it shows the info but then immediately closes. Is there an issue? If so, when will it be resolved? Thank you

I like the app generally and the features it has but one thing that I have observed is that its recording of time is not accurate. I walked much over two hours by my watch yet it recorded only one hour and thirty six minutes. This leaves me wondering whether it would be recording the steps accurately or not. Secondly it appears that to function it constantly needs an Internet connection! At times one walks without having a connection in that case it does not record ones activity! Kindly check.

Great app, used Strava before but it constantly would not connect to the GPS, this app has no such problems and is very accurate on mileage when using the GPS. Deserves all the 5* review's given, please don't spoil the app by overcomplicating future updates, if it ain't broke don't fix it. Many Thanks for sharing this fabulous software.

If I leave the app unpaused when I go to sleep, I wake up with 10000-20000 steps that I apparently took around 6 am while I was sleeping. (I don't sleepwalk) This is kind of a problem as it falsely affects the overall statistics. This is on Motorola One Action. Any idea of a solution or should I just pause the counter every time I go to sleep?

Like most similar apps, one enters one's height and weight, then the app assigns the length of the step. However my torso is long, legs relatively short. After noticing that my recorded distance was too long compared to certain precisely known distances and compared to the distances recorded as shorter by other walkers, this Pacer app let me adjust the length of my assumed step, more than 5% shorter. After that adjustment, my recorded distance is accurate.
