requires following permissions on your android device.

precise location (GPS and network-based)
Allows the app to get your precise location using the Global Positioning System (GPS) or network location sources such as cell towers and Wi-Fi. These location services must be turned on and available to your device for the app to use them. Apps may use this to determine where you are, and may consume additional battery power.

view network connections
Allows the app to view information about network connections such as which networks exist and are connected.

view Wi-Fi connections
Allows the app to view information about Wi-Fi networking, such as whether Wi-Fi is enabled and name of connected Wi-Fi devices.

take pictures and videos
Allows the app to take pictures and videos with the camera. This permission allows the app to use the camera at any time without your confirmation.

disable your screen lock
Allows the app to disable the keylock and any associated password security. For example, the phone disables the keylock when receiving an incoming phone call, then re-enables the keylock when the call is finished.

Allows access to the list of accounts in the Accounts Service.

full network access
Allows the app to create network sockets and use custom network protocols. The browser and other applications provide means to send data to the internet, so this permission is not required to send data to the internet.

read your contacts
Allows the app to read data about your contacts stored on your phone, including the frequency with which you've called, emailed, or communicated in other ways with specific individuals. This permission allows apps to save your contact data, and malicious apps may share contact data without your knowledge.

read the contents of your SD card
Allows the app to read the contents of your SD card.

read phone state
Allows read only access to phone state, including the phone number of the device, current cellular network information, the status of any ongoing calls, and a list of any PhoneAccounts registered on the device.

run at startup
Allows the app to have itself started as soon as the system has finished booting. This can make it take longer to start the phone and allow the app to slow down the overall phone by always running.

draw over other apps
Allows the app to draw on top of other applications or parts of the user interface. They may interfere with your use of the interface in any application, or change what you think you are seeing in other applications.

prevent phone from sleeping
Allows the app to prevent the phone from going to sleep.

modify or delete the contents of your SD card
Allows the app to write to the SD card.

In-App billing
In-app Billing on Google Play provides a straightforward, simple interface for sending In-app Billing requests and managing In-app Billing transactions using Google Play.

receive data from Internet
Allows apps to accept cloud to device messages sent by the app's service. Using this service will incur data usage. Malicious apps could cause excess data usage.

activity recognition
Allows an app to receive periodic updates of your activity level from Google, for example, if you are walking, driving, cycling, or stationary.

read Google service configuration
Allows this app to read Google service configuration data.

I have found the pacer app to be very easy to use and convenient. The step tracking is probably 80% accurate. There are times when slight movements can be misinterpreted as taking steps, but for the most part this tracks very well. What I like to see as a feature is when you can look at the trends of how you're walking over a 7-day through 12-month period. It's always interesting to see how much you've done over that period of time. A good app, very enjoyable and I would definitely recommend it.

Started off great, but lately has glitches. I love how it keeps track of steps, calories, keeps daily logs so you can see what your exercise trends are each day. I also really like you can pause the counting of steps so it doesn't drain the battery. But lately the app won't open or if it does it doesn't stay up long & disappears off screen again. It does keep track of steps if I can keep app open long enough to unpause my steps. Just Uninstalled app, going to reinstall in hopes that works

I like the Pacer App for keeping track of my walks. It keeps track of my number of steps, routes with GPS, and I can save my routes with info on length for future walks. I also like the support of others on the App. There are many people using this App to maintain health, lose weight, and eat healthy, and many share comments to encourage and support one another. I would recommend this App to anyone! It sure has helped me!

App seems okay, I have an android version and my partner an ios. I seem to be missing features such as seeing published posts on people's account and viewing routes via the map, I can only drop a pin and it's filter isn't accurate, producing the same walks over and over. Shame because if it worked like the ios version I've seen it would be 5 stars.

I love the way it keeps track of weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual totals. My favorite feature is its GPS tracking of my hikes and bike rides, esp the way it tracks each mile's details. The measurements for ascents (and descents), however, are clearly inaccurate as it tends to suggest that I climbed 3.5 times as many feet than I actually did. (Used an analog altimeter to compare on five different occasions.) I highly recommend this app.

Worked beautifully counting steps as well as time and distance with the GPS function. Then after three or four days it crashed. So I uninstalled and installed again. Worked beautifully as before for three or four days and then would not count the distance on the GPS function. Way too much hassle to keep reinstalling. I'll find something else.

For me, it's all about accuracy. Being over 6'3" tall, apps that I have used in the past had difficulty in getting my step count right. I'm bipolar and have counted my steps for many years. 55 steps down the hallway. 474 steps out to the parking garage, etc. Pacer is right on the mark. And the interface is a no brainer. Thanks for making such a great tool.

I've used this app for a few days. observations. Uses a lot of battery in my phone. I'd like to be able to turn it off when I don't need it. it sits on my desk most of the day. I'm really only using it for long walks. The elevation tracking is WAY off. there is NO way I had a gain of 2233m (2.23km) in yesterdays walk. ( 500m the day before). When creating a route, rather than just triming the start and end, I would like to be able to move the start/end circular along the route. IE I walk a loop starting and ending at my house. but if Im publishing, I would like to slide that to the park, so no one knows where I live..

Started off very well, but yesterday when I tried to open the app it closed straight away. And still does. I have emailed Customer Support and they told me that there was a bug in Google maps which is causing the problem and they are working on it. I decided to uninstall the app and then reinstalled it. It works now, so 5 stars. 😀

I used to love this app when I got it a few years ago then recently it frozen on me and wouldn't close out. So I uninstalled and reinstalled... I lost ALL of my data. I could've sworn I had an account but apparently I didn't. So when I went to make an account today (connected to FB), it deleted my entire history for today and yesterday. Counted the steps without having an account and then when I do deletes it! Ugh it's so annoying.

I gave this app a 5 star rating based on my first 2 days using it. The statistics were fairly accurate but subsequently I began noticing that the statistics were no longer accurate. For example the steps were entirely wrong. For 7 miles it was showing between 3000 and 4000 steps. I then downloaded another app and ran them side-by-side and compared data from Google Maps. Pacer miles, time, and steps were way off. I am giving it 2 stars only because the GPS mapping of a route is OK sometimes.

It is a very good app. It shows the true value or (u can say it shows all right information. Believe me and I wish that everyone should install and use the app no other app is not as good as pacer. In this app there are many activities like if u want to run you can select the activity to (Running, general)or any thing else also u can select. It's depended upon your choice and the true thing is that it is a very nice app.

I've been using this app for a few months now. I've liked it so far. But... today it decided it doesn't want to open.. i thought maybe it needed to be updated. Looked it up and yes it did. So i updated it and attempted to open it again. Still not opening. Restarted my phone, same. Powered it off and back on, same. What's the deal? Update. I uninstalled and reinstalled.. it works again but now ALL my records are gone. This is a huge disappointment.

Under GPS option, noticed that when you are walking on the open space like a groun or road, it is showing the parameters correctly like speed / km, Kms covered etc. But when you are walking inside a compound or on the lobby of your residence, there is absolutely no movement of speed /km. The data is very static. Why is it so, when you are walking in the same speed whether you are walking on the road or on the lobby

I have been using this app for years if you carry your cell phone in a strap when u exercise or run or walk it gives very good info and can be adjusted to suit your body, your stride and is very functional. It's a perfect app for me wish my smartwatch could connect to it then it would be that more better...Awesome app!! I highly recommend it
