Google Play Reviews

  1. Jan Henkins-avatar

This app is almost perfect. It works seamlessly with Nextcloud, and I can sync contacts, calendar entries and can also sync tasks with the help of Open Task (separate app). So why do I give it only three stars? It saps your battery dry in a few hours if left unchecked, even with the conservative-looking default 240 minute sync settings. My Moto G4 normally lasts almost 36 hours on a charge, with this app that goes down to 4 hours max. Fix the power drain, and this app deserves 5 stars. As it is, I sadly find it unusable.

Works well on my S10, except demands OpenTask permissions. I'd gladly grant them, alas such permission does not exist on my system. And I do have OpenTasks installed.

  3. Rykle Baron-avatar

Good app, but when I have a new shared calendar, the app does not see the calendar, even when I refresh the open sync app, the calendar won't show up. But when I remove my account and login to my same account, the new calendar is there. So this is a feature that needs attention.

  4. Trevor Jacobson-avatar

    Trevor Jacobson

It never asks for permission to access contacts and calendar. So if you don't change the settings manually nothing happens. Frustrating. But it's free and works so whatever.

  5. Squared 2-avatar

Worked instantly and synced with the phone's built-in Calendar app.

  6. PI Martin-avatar

Cannot make my caldav show up on my S10 calendar through this app. Tried looking up a solution, haven't found any. App is not working for me.

  7. Tobias Hupel-avatar

Works perfectly. Thanks for providing this app for free!

  8. Ed Garas-avatar

The only one which worked instantly with fastmail out of 4 tested inlcuding their recommended paid option.

  9. karl sorensen-avatar

Setup with a nextcloud instance and works great

  10. Vincent Stans-avatar

    Perfect to sync nextcloud.

  11. Ryan Cox-avatar

UNMAINTAINED AND OUTDATED RIPOFF OF DAVDROID which is now DAVx5. Hey dev, ripping off an open source project and giving it a different name does not make it a fork. COMPLETELY DISHONEST. You're even too lazy to keep your copy updated with the real app. SAD.

  12. Dan Zamir-avatar

I'm sorry but after successful syncing I can't view my GMX calendars.

  13. Mitja Platen-avatar

Cannot add Open Sync account to the calendar app

  14. W B-avatar

doesnt seem to work, doesn't seem maintained

  15. A Google user-avatar

Couldn't even log in so failed from beginning. Pw was correct

  16. Frank Wallace-avatar

It works, just works... I love that

  17. Alvin Rebalde-avatar

    Doesn't work

  19. Mees X-avatar

    Copy of DavDroid

  20. Chris Zuber-avatar

I paid for a CardDAV and CalDAV app, and this is better in every way. I can even create new calendars from within the app. Only complaint is the constant pop-up about licensing. That's great, but I really should only see that maybe once.

  21. andrew nie-avatar

Works great with fastmail! fastmail seems to use a separate url for the caldav and carddav, so I had to setup a 301 rewrite rule on my domain server to pass to the proper servers. If I specified the individual urls, then I had to create a separate account for caldav and for carddav, which was causing problems. long story, if you know what you're doing this app does exactly that! My only complaint is that this isn't in F-Droid, so I still need a google account to install this app (not a big deal but would love to see it in the F-Droid repos!)

Worked fabulously for months. Now, won't sync Yahoo calendars -- probably due to some Yahoo change the developer hasn't been made aware of. OpenSync seems like an optimal solution for self-hosted calendars and address books with which I am now experimenting more seriously. Update 2019-10-20: DAVx5 seems to have superceded this and is fully open source and available on f-droid

  23. A Google user-avatar

This is an unmaintained re-upload of the open-source app DavDroid. OpenSync is just rebranding other people's work in order to get app installs. Don't use this. Support the real developers and use DavDroid (which you don't have to pay for if you really don't want to, they have free copies on their website).

I just want to see my Oracle Beehive calendar. This was very easy to set up. The events show up in a very clear manner. I can easily see my accepted events vs those that are not, in an easy to discern manner.

  25. Marc Britten-avatar

Best dav sync app out there. Ignore the negative reviews focusing on the forked source code

  26. Roy Bontius-avatar

Terrible and cumbersome. Gone are the days of simple shared calendars and replaced with lumpy software like this.

  27. Archey Barrell-avatar

I am using it with nextcloud. It took a few attempts at configuring it correctly by making sure I had the right url but other than that it's a great app

  28. A Google user-avatar

I'm using this with Etar open source calendar connecting nextcloud calendar across 3 devices on home WiFi. I love your work. Thank you.

Not able to sync events of mobile and webserver. Not getting displayed on any of mobile apps and no mobile events are getting synced with web. Please provide support

  30. Tim Cook-avatar

Would not let me tell it the server address

  31. A Google user-avatar

This is a rippoff of the great davx5 app which costs money in the playstore. If you want this for free with updates just get the fdroid version. Don't support this!

  32. A Google user-avatar

As at August 2018 Open Sync works just fine with my Soho groupware server where Davdroid would not. Davdroid dev's give ZERO support, so Open Sync gets my vote!

  33. Denis DSouza-avatar

Cannot select the option to sync every 5 minutes. By default you have to select 15 minutes. Seems a bug. Please fix this ASAP

  35. A Google user-avatar

This works perfectly for Nextcloud. Great job!

  36. Excel Wizard-avatar

Excellent app for syncing shared calendars and contacts. Tested on Y! Mail and zimbra accounts.

  37. PIKNIK CO-avatar

Works great on Android 8 where paid apps don't. Using for caldav and carddav

  38. A Google user-avatar

This app works great. Awesome. Thanks.

Why the fork??? How is this different???

  40. Vern Rolton-avatar

    Good first impressions

  41. Shawn Hyde-avatar

After some time it started getting issues with wrong names with wrong contact details. All other devices were correct other than the one using this open sync solution.

  42. Jean Cloud-avatar

Be careful ! Not safety ! The app is built from the source code of DAV Droid, but we don't know if the developer modify the source code ! If you want to be sure, It's preferable to build the app by yourself (From DAVDROID Git, all the step are described on the website) Or buy the official DAVDROID app from the playstore (5$, it's worth for this beautiful apps)

  43. Hall O-avatar

a re-upload of DavDroid.. nothing done here.. version is old tough

  44. A Google user-avatar

    Blatant rip off of DAVdriod

  45. A Google user-avatar

Open source is the way of life.
